Comfort Food: Rachael Ray Top 30 30-Minute Meals Reviews
This small cookbook features main dishes (soups and entrees) to be completed in 30 minutes. It is small and slim without much variety. Most of the recipes are OK, but I didn't make a single one from this I would purposefully buy the ingredients to make again. The feta shrimp pasta dish was the best of the bunch, but even that needed some alteration - maybe some kick with crushed red pepper and cut back on the amount of sauce to better feature the shrimp - to make it more to our tastes. I'm a fairly experienced cook, but every recipe I made took me longer than 30 minutes. The amount of chopping or the need to add some cooking time put every recipe over 30 minutes. Although, it should be noted that all were still easy to make.
I received this book as a gift and am going to set it free because I so rarely refer to it. It's very high in calories, fat, and relies heavily on meat & cheese (which we're doing our best to say away from). I made one of the dishes and it took me far longer than 30 minutes. Rachael (like many cooks) seems to forget that we can't all afford to have someone prep our ingredients for us before we set out to cook!
There are a good number of recipes in this book that I want to try. The mac and cheese is pretty good and I didn't really follow the recipe down to the last ingredient. I don't remember if this is the book that also has the cheddar cheese soup recipe, but I was very disappointed in that one. Not enough cheddary taste. Too much onion taste. Got chunky. Maybe I'm just not a good cook? ;-)

I liked looking through this cookbook, but nothing stood out that I wanted to save and try for myself. It's a library book, and someone's torn a few pages out, unfortunately. Makes me wonder what I'm missing!
I am not comforted by any of these meals.
not really recipes i would cook on a regular basis
The apricot chicken and potato carrot latkes were one of my favorites. Also really loved the rosemary chicken.
Not bad, but nothing noteworthy either.
This one was not to my liking at all. through the whole book, our family only found one recipe we enjoyed and that was veal invertini.
