From the book blurb:NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT!THE PAST: Although Texas in 1864 was no place for a lone lady traveler, feisty Angela Taylor had to get to San Antonio. She could outsmart any outlaw, so she wasn´t afraid when a bunch of no-good cowboys surrounded her. But when a rough and rugged stranger suddenly pushed her into a hilly cave and pulled her out into the twentieth century, Angela was plenty scared...THE PRESENT: Texas Ranger Dallas Masterson had a heart full of bitterness, and there was no room in it to care about a smart-mouthed, sassy woman claiming she was from another century! But Angela soon had Dallas discovering that though the past was history, the future was theirs to make - together.**********Being a fan of the 'Hawk´s Way' series, I was pleasantly surprised to see two familiar characters playing secondary roles in this book. I think this is the book that starts the whole series, even though there isn´t a single Whitelaw in the picture.I liked this book, but it could´ve been better developed. I closed the book with the feeling that I didn´t really "know" Dallas and Angel. And they were pretty much "comfortable" with the time-travel thing, which I found hard to take. If something like that happened to me, I´d be freaking out big time! Anyway, I understand that Harlequin/Silhouette books are short and I know what I´ll get when I read them, so I don´t hold a grudge. All things considered, it was an enjoyable two-hour read. :)

Dallas Masterson no sabía qué pensar.

Dallas is a Texas Ranger helping out a lady. Angel is disguised as a man so he doesn't suspect her appearance much, but she doesn't recognize the modern conveniences we have come to take for granted. She is from a time just after the civil war is over. She needs to go back to her time and they access the past through a cave where he and Angel accessed the portal to the past. She wants to go back to see the trial of the robber that made her sister go bad. The end up running back to the future for their lives, and along the way Dallas questions his commitment to never falling in love.

Time travel in a Silhouette Desire, who knew?! What a pleasant surprise. This is my first read by Joan Johnston. This is her prequel to her popular Hawk's Way series. Dallas and Angel make a great couple. He's the dashing Texas Ranger who whisks her out of danger, and she's the fiesty not to be tamed woman who steals his heart. Well worth the read!
