This book was pretty good. It brings you right into what Jack Sparrow is doing. It had pictures from the movie and the storyline lined up to movie very good. I love Pirates Of The Caribbean! (POTC)

Fairly faithful adaptation of the film, from what I can recall.

I chose this book because i had good description back to it. This books genre is fiction. The setting takes place at sea. Davy Jones live beneath the sea, Captain jack sparrow has a golden tooth and is dressed vary nice ,Will Turner like this princes named Elizabeth Swann, Elizabeth Swann is a princes on this island. The start of the book is like this they throw these coffins in to the water and this bird comes over to this coffin and starts peaking at it and this gun goes off and captain jack sparrow unlocked the thing and grasped a lag and patted to shore then go on a ship and left with Barbarossa and Will Turner. The middle is the leave jack back on this island and then will turner goes to get him and he get capture and then Elizabeth dressed up to go get them both and get them and get out of there ,the End is where they find Davy Jones locker and steal it and then it becomes a war between the two ships and they give back the chest. The main conflict is that jack sparrow took the chest and Davy Jones keeps jack hostage till they get the chest back. The give the chest back but do something mean to them take the hart that was in side it.I liked the book because it brought out the adventures in the story

This is a quirky pirate pick-me-up. Simple without a lot of detail. I would love to read the adult novel versions of these books. There is something missing from these books and I realized what it was—my favorite word that Jack used throughout the movies—“savvy.” His strange behavior was amplified in this story as he was being hunted by Davy Jones to pay his debt to him. I love when he hangs onto his jar of dirt for dear life. I thought Davy Jones was formidable and so much fun to watch on the big screen, sadly that flair was lost in translation for the book. It was watered down. Pintel and Ragetti were very entertaining with their bickering and stupidity. One scene I rather enjoyed was when Gibbs noticed the Black Spot on Jack making him a marked man. “Pintel and Ragetti watched the old pirate turn three times and spit for luck. Not knowing why, they did the same, just in case.” They crack me up. Jack’s indecisiveness due to his paranoia was laughable. His crew is confused about his behavior “set sail in a general…that way direction.” Fun read.

My 7yo read this junior novelization straight through--too exciting to stop! (It was in the $1 book bin at Borders.) The scary parts, according to N, were the Kracken and when Will turned over the man with no face. The most exciting part was the funny part--when they were on the mill wheel. He has not seen the movie, and I have not read this book, so there you have it. He is looking over my shoulder as I type and just urged me to start the paragraph with an indent, because "it's proper." Something is rubbing off on him...

This book ties into the first book and movie really well and I really enjoyed basically reading the movie. The descriptions of Davy Jones and his crew were detailed enough that I was able to picture them in my mind without using the movie as a reference. There are pictures from the movies as well so that added extra fun to what I was reading. I think any fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies will find these books entertaining and they're written well enough that you can read them without seeing the movie first.

I think this book is rather interesting and i like it. I have been a fan of Pirates of Caribbean since the first book came out. I began reading it, and at times i could put the book down! that's how interesting it was! I've watched all the movies and it is my 3rd time reading this book. I also find that the book can be pretty breath taking at times.

In this book Jack is back in the second pirates book. In this story, Jack is being hunted by Davy Jones the captain of the ghost ship the Flying Duchtman who has sent the Kracken after Jack. Now Will, Elizibeth and the rest of the Black Pearl crew must help save Jack, fight the Flying Duchtman, and face the Kracken to only have a sad yet somehow happy ending.

I thought it was very great. It sounded as though I was actually in the movie, rather than it being the book version. This book had picture stills of the actors in their scenes. Another reason why I loved it is because there was a picture of Johnny girls know what I mean. All in all, It was very good and I actually do recommend it to you.

I really like series of "Pirates of the Caribbean". The main character is Jack sparrow, who is the pirate and the captain. I like his personality, because he is serpentine but he has a prominent fencing. My favorite scene is Jack and other character fight for themselves in the uninhabited island because I was excited by it.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has many adventures. I believe it captures the young minds to let their minds wonder about the sea in search of Davy Jones Chest. This book uses many vivid details along the way. I think that I would want to use this book for children around the 3-4th grade. The vocabulary and details used in this book would help expand the writing of the children.

Currently reading it from the Omnibus version. Once again, the movie is better, especially when Jack brings the key on board the Black Pearl, as in the movie, he says 'much more better', but in the book, he just said 'much better'. It lost a little bit of the comedy.

This book was confusing a little bit. I only read it so that I could know when to shield my eyes, when there was a violent scene in the movie. This book does not do justice to the movie, the movie does justice to the book!

What I like best about the POTC junior novelizations is that they sometimes explain certain plot points that the movies fail to give. Hence why I read them.
