He makes it to the safety of a dense tangle of bougainvillea vines where the coyotes can’t follow and falls into exhausted sleep. When he wakes, he discovers that the bougainvillea is actually home to a half-dryad named Etireh who pushes all of Wynn’s arousal buttons without even trying.Etireh turns out to enjoy some of the same things that Wynn does, namely, otherworldly gay men with a thing for kink and BDSM who would take pleasure in games of domination and submission. In Wynn, Etireh finds a partner who enjoys being submissive to his dominant and is more than willing to push boundaries and play in ways Etireh barely dared to dream about....

What a hot, sexy romp! Spring has sprung and the sap is rising. And not just sap found in the local plant life... What ensues between an ermine shifter and vine-dwelling dryad is a different kind of courtship that ‘blossoms’ into more. It seems that the sexy Etireh can summon his bougainvillea vines to do his every bidding. He can also sense what they sense... Imagine that vines can act as sex appendages (vine sex, you say?); kinda like having three cocks and eight hands (hint: sounding and stuffing abounds; and a touch of cock ‘n ball torture)... Imagine the possibilities when both our lovers have a bent for BDSM pleasures... ah, the possibilities. If you like shifters and tentacle sex, read this, you’ll be glad you did.

I hate Torquere. That being said, YAAAAAAYYYKINKY VINESEX FUN.With adorable stoat-ness and happy trilling. This reminds me of the adorable fluffy kems in adorable A Fluffy Tale...The BDSM didn't seem very intense, though. The entire thing was really light and fluffy and I never really fully got a sense of surrender from....shit. What's his name?Wynn. That dude.*sighI mean, 4 cuz of the vines, but honestly, it's probably more a 3. It was light and fluffy, but that didn't work with the kink, imo. It was supposedly more intense than anything either of 'em had been able to do before and either they had really pathetic previous encounters or the supposed intensity just didn't translate through. Plus, there was sounding, which I'm not so much a big fan of. *sigh...I may have actually liked the initial encounter much more than when they (view spoiler)[got back together after the supposed leading the coyotes off the trail or whatever (hide spoiler)] and started sexing it up.Welp. There were still vines, which are kind of like tentacles...

I'm having trouble deciding what to rate it, but I think I'll go with 3.5 stars (rounding up due to indecisiveness). It was surprisingly kinky (vine sex!) and surprisingly sweet. I enjoyed it way more than I expected to. It was almost satisfying as it was, but not quite. So I'm glad to see there's a sequel, short though it may be.

This book and series was great, just short. Wish there was more to this series. The kink in this book put a new spin on sex in nature

I waffled between 4.5 and 5, but I'll round up. It really worked for me on a kinky and cute level. Wynn is an ermine shifter who is being chased by homophobic coyotes. They toss him around a bit, but he manages to escape into a bush with thorns and collapses. He awakens to find a man, Etireh, who knows he's a shifter, and he soon realizes he's a dryad, a tree sprite. Amazingly he's able to enter the tree (vine really) that half-dryad Etireh lives in which freaks Etireh out. However he's gay as well and Wynn is cute soooo.... Eventually they get back together, and seem to be perfectly in synch in the bedroom. Etireh is a dom and Wynn is happy to be a sub (bedroom only), and seems that magical folk can play MUCH harder than with humans and both want that. Etireh also controls the vines in his tree and they are an extension of him. So if they touch Wynn, it's like him touching Wynn. And lets just say vines = kink, with a fair bit of pain and whipping tossed in for good measure. Although the vine sex might not be for everyone, it was very well done and I thought it was pretty hot and sexy. There is also a lot of humour, Wynn is a smart ass all the way and learning about the world of dryads and how it all works was interesting and while it's only 75 pages or so, it wasn't overwhelming, with enough time for the guys to get to know each other. There is a follow-up short to this I will be reviewing on BER in a week or so, but I would recommend this if you like something BDSMy, and something different with the vines. And look at the little eye on that cover. Staring at you, willing you to read this. :-)

Definitely kinky! Who knew you could get so creative with vines – LOL!!! This little story definitely had the most unique shifter creatures I’ve read about to date. I loved Wynn’s energetic personality and “gimee” attitude – he wasn’t afraid to try anything. Etireh seemed so reserved at first, but when he started letting his vines go to work, let’s just say it was pretty smexy:)

I love unique shifters. Confession: I had to Google what an ermine was because I had no idea what they looked like and OH MY GOD. ADORABLE OVERLOAD. So cute. And I absolutely loved the half-dryad bougainvillea. <3 THE VINES!I enjoyed the story so much! I'm glad that there are some continuation stories on the author's website! :)
