Why can't I stop reading these books? They're like candy and crack all rolled up in one. They aren't great or anything but totally addictive. In this one we have Sterling, a vampire, and Beau, a werewolf in charge of the Pacific Northwest. They're initial meeting was a bit different than any of the others in that Beau just attacked Sterling then passed out not even remembering that he had mated anyone. And he was sure he was straight. Interesting. And not so much! We met a few of Beau's pack and I'm hoping to see their stories. I find myself enjoying Stormy and Scarlett's books in this series a whole lot more than Lynn Hagen's. No surprise there. I. Must. Keep. Reading.

What really worked for me in this book were two things: one was the depth of feeling between Sterling and Beau - even if the relationship started off on a misunderstanding and some truly idiotic kindergarten-level behavior on both sides. The second, and this is a biggie for me: this was the first book with a hint of a look behind the scenes of the Council of Elders. I've been complaining all along that this forced mating theme and the way it is executed is just stupid, but some of the characters (and character combinations) were interesting enough that I kept reading. Now that there is hope for getting some sort of explanation as to why the elders were behaving the way they did, there may be hope for this series...

maybe 2.5 stars. They were idiots and just blah. The crazy lady werewolf escapes killing one guard and injuring the other. The one guy says they are vampire scratches on the dead guy. They never ask the injured guy what happened. the next scene they are reviewing something and wondering how she escaped (Hello ask the injured guard) then they think she had an accomplice, hello it was already determined a vampire killed the one guard of course she had help. This whole scene never made sense just showed how stupid they were. Then the huge turn around with the elder at the end was just stupid and his excuses for his actions just didn't make sense.

Spoiler Ahead This was book six in the "Midnight Matings " series. This was a pretty good book. Sterling Roane has a job to perform. He is the personal bodyguard of a vampire coven leader when the Elder's decides that the paranormal's need to find mates to stop the fighting among them. Beau is the Alpha of Pacific Northwest Region he is straight and engaged to be married. So how did these two wound up being mated? The coven leader that Sterling works for is a jerk. With the mating lust on Sterling and Beau accidently mate so Sterling goes with it Beau is hot but once it wears off he tells Sterling that he is straight and is going to marry a woman so after his rejection what does Sterling do he drops him off in another state and heads home to NYC. Once he is home he finds his boss waiting for him and all hell breaks out. This was a pretty good book that I wish was longer. Beau goes to NY and rescues Sterling from the coven leader who has flipped out because of his mating he wanted him for his self. When they get to Beau's house his feelings have changed and he wants Sterling to be his mate Beau also has to deal with Marilyn his fiancé who doesn't take the news well and tries to kill and gets Sterling instead. They also have to deal with Micah who was one of the ex coven leader's boy toys who was abused by him he also has a problem with wearing clothes. This book was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling I am looking forward to reading more books in this series as each book can be read as a stand along.

Another Stormy Glenn addition, another good read.I'm still seriously disturbed by this premise though...here is some quotes explaining the premise.."I would like you all to drink a toast with me in memory of those we lost" The Elder held up his champagne glass and waited until everyone in the crowd held their own glass""You've all taken a toast with me. As such you are now bound by the covenants we put before you. Each of you have twenty-four hours to find and claim your mate. If you fail to claim a mate in twenty-four hours and bring him or her (who is he kidding, ain't no "hers" in these books! *lol*) before the council to be recognized, you will not have a mate. You will go feral inside a week" blah blah blah..."To insure that you will find a mate, something special has been added to the potion that each of you drank. It will insure that the need to mate outweighs your need to fight. It is a particular additive that induces the mating heat in each of you. You will not be able to deny the need to mate!SO...basically the elders roofied everyone??!! Who thought dubious consent was a good premise for a series of books? *lol*In anycase, aside from that whole debacle, I am enjoying these for the most part!

Ok, I finished it, time for a proper review, i'm trying to be open, and relaxing my standards in order to not be to harsh...I can't.this book is to awful, full of incoherency, & i could smell the self insert in Sterling all the way.and BITING your mate's penis IS NOT SEXY.and wtf, Beau's wolf was so docile he could easily be an omega.I hated every single character by the end.and Elder Lewis excuses were so lame.

3.5 StarsI dip in and out of this series. They all start off at the same point - a meeting off all the paranormals being told that they have to find a mate of a different species within 24 hours or risk being declared feral. After being given a glass of spiked bubbly their lust increases and basically it is a sexual free for all. This time round it is Vampire Sterling and Werewolf Beau. The biting/mating part is easy. It is always the impact it has on real life after the lust has worn off that causes grief. Two strangers having to merge their lives together...oh and the rule passed on by the Elders that the mating has to be consummated every 24 hours, or again the effects will be that you go feral and will have to be exterminated. A light hearted series and a bit of fun.

2.5 - 2.75Though this is an incredibly comforting series to read if you want something fun and mindless, I kind of feel my brain smooshing together and distorting into this peculiar blob of jelly tissue from the pure stupidity some of these books contain. Is smooshing even a word?Oh well, not like I would know. My brain has already been smooshified (and that definitely isn't a word).

I originally bought and read this book in 2012 and decided to reread it so I could give it a proper review. This story had a lot of potential because of the powerful hook and my interest in the paranormal elements and urban fantasy setting. Ultimately, it fell short of my expectations. The story really needed a good line edit to filter out repetitive and trite dialog, as well as to address some of the inconsistencies. These range from Sterling turning from badass bodyguard into damsel in distress or Sterling conveniently knowing that a supporting character's favorite food is chocolate, despite not knowing their name for the first half of the book. Lastly, I think the book is overpriced for the quality of the content, but you might find it a worthwhile read if you really enjoy steamy sex scenes.

This book was just a series of contradictions. One chapter someone wouldnt know something and the next they would. Sometimes Sterling would be very masculine and then he'd be more feminine and small. He was this badass body guard except for when his coven leader was the one fighting him. It was so confusing. There were several times that I almost quit reading but decided to power through and finish it. I think I'll just skip the ones in this series written by this author after this.

Originally posted at: http://whippedcream2.blogspot.com/201...With every new addition to the Midnight Matings series we meet character who are forced together when in their regular lives would never have met. The whole concept of forcing individuals of different species to mate makes for some very entertaining reading and for some of the sweetest love stories I have ever read. Sterling and Beau are victims like all the other paranormals attending the council meeting and are accidently mated to one another. This relationship starts off rocky and full of misunderstandings and misgivings. Sterling is a vampire who found himself mated to an alpha werewolf. Sterling may be a small man but he is a strong force to be reckoned with. I really liked this character. His small size gives people the impression that he isn’t a threat but he is the biggest threat anyone could come against. He also has a quick witted personality and he pushes the buttons of others around him and especially his mate. Beau is the alpha of the Pacific Northwest region and being gay had never entered his mind until he meets Sterling. Beau is a man who goes through his own self-discoveries to become the mate that Sterling needs. Yes, at first this two hundred year old werewolf tries to ignore the attraction and pull to Sterling but he cannot deny what is in his heart. This character is a different spin on how an alpha should act. He’s sensitive and caring and willing to share control when it comes to his and Sterling’s bedroom activities. For me Beau came off as a very likable man who is doing his best to feel his way through all these new emotions he is experiencing. Conflicts come in pairs where this couple is concerned. Sterling’s ex-coven leader has lost his marbles and thinks Sterling is his and his alone. Then Beau’s fiancé of convenience is not taking the broken engagement well. Both these men are strong and capable of taking care of themselves and each other; it’s just allowing the other to face unknown danger that seems to be their main problem. And with scorned individuals from their past they will need all the help they can get to have good over come evil. There was a character by the name of Micah that made an impact in this story. His role within the story was small but memorable and I would like to see him get his own story.Ms. Glenn paired together two men who butt heads yet complement each other so well. Their love is one of struggles at first but worth it in the end. Besides being a love story it was also very funny at times. The dialogue between Sterling and Beau was realistic and gave me a good chuckle. This author has the ability to bring a tear to my eye and make me laugh out loud and I look forward to reading more from this complicated world of forced matings.

3.75 starsMy review is in spoiler tags because it hasn't been edited yet. It probable has too much negative stuff as that's what I tend to think to write down. If I'm enjoying myself, I don't want to stop reading! (view spoiler)[A vampire with superhuman strength should be able to lift another man easily, even a huge one. He should not be winded from dragging that same man. (And do vampires even need air in this series?) later the vampire pucks the shifter up with one hand. Although the whole series is based on essential mass rape, this was a little worse than usual. Beau said no and sterling didn't stop. He was horrified afterward and sterling just walked out. The comments about the PNW being the last frontier were hilarious. There are straight men who enjoy anal. They have the gland too. And he's not gay, he's bi. As bad as the writing in the rest of the series are, Glenn's sexism just drives me to want to break something. Women are always evil or doting jobless mothers or very young children. Always. Why did she bring a silver knife to the house and down to the water if she didn't even know what was going on. Why did she try to kill Beau? It's very cool that the littler guy is totally kickass and strong. The sex is pretty good, especially for one of these books. Instalove"He trusted both men explicitly." Huh. That sounds kinda hot... But not what he meant I don't think. If Marilyn wants him, why did she try to kill him?Still, quite good peril and the story moved along well. Too much sex but there always is and it was decent.(hide spoiler)]

Sterling Roane has a job to do, he’s the personal bodyguard to a vampire coven leader. When the council of elders spell is cast and all hell breaks loose, Sterling tries to get the leader out. When a werewolf shifter interferes and the fighting begins, Sterling finds himself mated to the Alpha of the Pacific Northwest Region. When the mating heat wears off he finds out Beau isn’t gay and he’s engaged to be married to a woman. Sterling dumps Beau in the middle of nowhere and tries to go back to his old life. Only someone is waiting in New York to claim him and it is not Beau. Can Beau find and save his mate in time?Fang and Fur is part of the Midnight Matings series by Stormy Glenn. In this installment of the series, Ms. Glenn gives us werewolves and vampires. I like how each book in this series has a different author, they each bring variety and spice to the books. Beau is very much a leader. He’s all man and a tough one at that. Under the influence of magic he has to mate. Who does he choose? A very alpha male named Sterling, who’s used to protecting others. When Beau says he doesn’t want him, Sterling isn’t going to hang around waiting to be kicked out. He’s hard headed, which makes him strong and loveable. I like that Sterling doesn’t let anyone walk all over him. I didn’t see the twist at the end of the story coming; Beau more than proves his love to Sterling. I’m looking forward to reading more books in this series. There’s always a twist or turn to explore and lots of hot man love to enjoy.

I absolutely love Stormy Glenn’s contributions to the Midnight Matings series and Fang and Fur is no exception. In this installment, a misunderstanding which leads to a fight between Beau and Sterling causes them to mate. Sterling is happy until Beau tells him he’s not gay and is engaged to a woman! But despite that, Sterling and Beau are fated to be together even if outside influences threaten to tear them apart.Fang and Fur was a fun read. Sterling is an outspoken force of nature. A former bodyguard to the leader of a vampire coven, he can take care of himself much to his mate’s dismay. Beau, on the other hand, is the Alpha of the Pacific Northwest, and never expected to be mated to a man, let alone someone so mouthy and independent like Sterling. The more he tries to resist, the more he’s drawn to Sterling and their mating bond and that makes for an enjoyable read. The dynamics between Sterling and Beau is what makes Fang and Fur work in my estimation. Add in an interesting plot, great secondary characters in Micah, Sterling’s vampire friend and Beau’s beta, and you have all the makings of an entertaining Stormy Glenn novel. I certainly hope the author writes more in this series.Dark Divas Reviews

The elders of UPAC engineer a night where shifters and other paranormals must mate with different species. Sterling gets his coven leader out of the ballroom as a good bodyguard should before he is attacked by a shifter. The shifter and Sterling bite each other. When Sterling feels the bond form in himself, he accepts his fate and drags the unconscious shifter to register their mating. It's a good thing in Sterling's book at first as it gives him a reason to leave his old coven but after Beau ways up on the plane and they have sex for the first time, Beau says he's not gay and is engaged to a woman. Sterling gets mad and drops Beau off in Wyoming before going home to New York while calling Elder Lewis to get his bonding broken. Beau despite saying he's straight will not give up his mate and chases after Sterling. Vladimir tries to force claim Sterling before being stopped. Beau takes Sterling to his home and they face psycho ex-fiancé and Vladimir. In the end, both the ex and Vladimir are dealt with and Beau and Sterling revel in their love.

Sterling has had it with the job he is supposed to do, so when he mates with Beau his hopes of not having to do that job is quickly ruined when he finds out that not only is Beau straight, but engaged as well, his dreams dies quickly. Leaving Beau in the middle of no where while he returns home to New York, Sterling is in for a big surprise. Beau showing up to claim him and bring him back home with him is something Sterling didn't think to imagine. Though they go through an awkward stage they soon find they can have love in each other. They only have to fight against a psycho Vampire coven leader and a crazy wolf shifting ex-girlfriend, but in the end it is worth it. I have to say this series is really starting to get under my skin in a good way.

Such a fun series! There are currently 20 books in the series, each book is written by either Joyee Flynn, Gabrielle Evans or Stormy Glenn. They could keep writing more as long as they continue creating interesting characters who shift into all kinds of wonderful and different animals/mythical beings and coming up with unique stories full of romance, crazy drama, angst and let's not forget the very hot sex!You don't have to read them in order, very rarely are other characters mentioned, but each story is very different and engaging and together they make for a fun few weeks of entertainment. There is a spin-off series by Joyee Flynn with 8 books out so far called "Unmated by Midnight." I have not read those yet but they are on my to-be-read list next.

sigh... I have a love / hate relationship with this series... for the authors that write in first person... and don't add any world building... I want to pull my hair out and shout at them that with a few more sweeps and a a bit of rewriting it could have been soooo much better. Some of the books is the series have lots of grammar and spelling mistakes, others not so much. now .. this one was a treat for me, I love that Ms Glenn moves her POV around, and yeah its not 1st person. Really enjoyed this story :) was lots of fun

This book is for adults only. The writing is amateurish, and has several copy errors. The author really needs to have a beta reader to catch these things. The story is overly contrived and makes jumps in the plot that are unrealistic. The characters are shallow and inconsistent, with repetitive dialog. I do not think a novella this poor should be sold for as much as it is...it should be free or no more than .99 cents. I won't be buying any more.

This was a very differnt kind of m/m books I usually read. But I gave it a try. Well, I was surprised. Two men all alpha and strong, the story of Beau and Sterling worked for me. A Vamp and a Werewolf, a lot of hot scenes and an easy-going story, happy-end included. It's one book of an entire series called "Midnight Matings". I think I'll try another book out of it because it was actually better than I've expected it to be.

Remember this is a light read and typical of a Stormy Glenn book. I enjoyed the characters. (Would love to see more on Micah.) Some of the situations were a little out there and eye-rolling but putting that aside I enjoyed the story. Beau really needed the fun and excitement that Sterling could bring him. Sterling just needed someone.

I'm not sure why I am so fascinated with this series. But it's funky fresh and fun adaptation of shifter stories. Some times these pairs are so odd you are dumbfounded by how fun they can be. This one was pretty calm, wolf and vampire. I liked it. Well heck. I like them all. Go in with an open mind for some fun!

So fun! I really enjoy these stories and this one is no exception. Sterling and Beau have mad passion skills from the moment they meet, even though Beau isn't gay and has never been with a man. Along with Sterling's sarcasm and snark these two have to find their way through Beau's ex-fiancée and Sterling's psycho coven leader. Al's fun in love and war!

Sterling and Beau. Wow. Surprising is a word I would use. Sterling may be small, but he packs a punch. Then there's Beau, soooo....was he always gay and hiding or was it just a coincidence that he mated a male? I really liked them together though.

I enjoyed this story and it was the first one I read on this series. Some things were far fetch, but mostly irrelevant on the overall story. Just a simple and smexy story.
