This is one of the best books I've ever read, and I've read tons of books. One of the greatest love stories ever told. From the very beginning, the authors writing style captured you and made it very hard PUTTING this book down! I anticipated each and every character's version of the story of their life play out right before my very eyes. Every emotion that you can ever feel was brought out in this heart felt story. Love was proving not to be Asia's friend, but in the end everything worked out for the best.

Move over Dickey, Jackie Chanel is coming for your spot! This is the 2nd of Jackie Chanel’s books that I’ve read and like the first one, I was blown away. About 5 pages into it, all I kept thinking was, “man, this girl can write!”Change of Heart is my kind of romance novel. It’s no fairy tale romance, that’s for sure. The characters and situations are complex but not hard to understand and most importantly, relate to.Change of Heart is told from the POV of the main characters. One thing I’ve noticed about Jackie Chanel is that she is not afraid to tell a story from a man’s point of view AND she does it extremely well. The chapters told from Anthony, Jay, and Corey’s POV are spectacular. The author has a genuine way of getting the reader into the head of a man. Through this, we get great insight as to what a man goes through when he falls in love with a woman he cannot have.Change of Heart is about a young woman who struggled to find Mr. Right. While this theme has been done a million time, Change of Heart stands out from all the rest. Jackie Chanel has a knack for breathing new life into common themes and I love that in a writer. Change of Heart is a romance novel but it could also be a coming of age story as it follows Asia’s life as she goes from being the number one female basketball player in the country to a superstar, wife and eventually mother. The story starts while she is in college and giving her first love a second chance at her heart. Anthony seems like he’s be the perfect man for Asia. He’s determined, ambitious, and sexy. It’s the dysfunctional relationship he has with the mother of his children that drives Asia away. Enter Jay and Corey.Change of Heart is chock full of swoon worthy men, heated sexual tension, steamy sex, and those heart stopping moments when you wish you had a friend like Jay or a lover like Corey. It’s an emotional rollercoaster, but the one thing I like about this book is that, no matter how good you think she’s got it, you always want Asia to come out on top.I could talk about this book all day and I do with others who have read it. I can’t do that here without giving away crucial elements of the story. I recommend Change of Heart to anyone who enjoys a heaping pile of romance with some drama on the side.

Change of Heart is a unique story, in that it lets the characters tell their side of it all. It’s complicated, not because of a storyline that is hard to follow, but because we get to play omniscient as we hop into each characters minds. One would think that, when reading a book, we usually get that omniscience, but we’re still at the mercy of the author and what she chooses to reveal about her players. Not such an easy ride, however, when you get that character you love to hate, like ‘the other woman’. Because we can’t hate her completely, since she’s confessing all. We get to see the wounded part of her. The insecurity. The blindness to her own selfishness because of how desperate she is for love. That kind of story is right up my alley. I do love the head trip. And Jackie Chanel delivers in Change of Heart, a story about Asia, a basketball player with dreams of making it as a pro, all while trying to get that love thing down. It’s one of those stories I can’t say too much about, plot-wise, because its best left discovered by the reader. The gem of the piece is the introspection we get to see in a story that is simultaneously simple and multi-layered.And naturally, I love any story that has the courage to explore the male point of view regarding love without forgetting the simple fact that men and women do NOT think the same way. It’s my literary fetish. And when an author gets it right, I’m sold.--Joey, The One Hundred Romances Project

A must own book! A must own book! I am so happy I read this book! If you don't know anything about Jackie Chanel as an author, after reading this book you'll definitely want to read more by her!! I loved everything about this book, even the sad parts! Jackie is an awesome story teller! She has a way of writing that pulls you in and while you're reading the storyline feels so real. This is a tender love story that will someday become a classic! For this to be her very first book it was really well written, the characters were developed thoughtfully and the content was on point. Jackie tackled some deep issues that people struggle with and at times it was really hard to see our favorite characters go through them. I can go on for days raving about this book but I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it. Let's just say once you finish it you can have a very lively discussion about the book! Asia is very near to my heart and she is one character that I won't soon forget!

Long Ride To A Happy EndingI loved this story. It was well written and there was never a dull moment. I guess I have been reading so many short stories lately that this one took me by surprise. It was filled with so many anticipating moments. I could really relate to Asia's quest to find a love she could trust. As bratty as she was at times her need to find true love was matched with her best friend Jay. My expectation was for them to be together kept my nose in this book. They seemed so right for one another but they go through several relationships before they reach the inevitable. This read did not disappoint. I was surprise to see the road Shayla took. Anthony was the one who really surprised me. He took gullible to another level and end he loses. This book dealt with some tough issues, abandonment, friendship, betrayal, lies, domestic violence and more. It was a great read and I finally got my happy ending.

When you start reading Change Of Heart, there's lot of background information there for the first 10 pages. A slow and detailed introduction described by the characters themselves, like they would report in a testimony. First we meet the story of Anthony, Shayla, Asia and then Jamal but don't exactly know how he'll join the storyline by then. After that each chapter is told by one of those characters, but we feel like we're caught in the middle of the drama and it was a very daring start for a 270 pages long book. I got tired at the beginning and it had a Mexican soap opera feel to it with a touch of baby drama. I'm not a big fan of the format the author chose to tell this story but the blurb made keep going, and you won't think the storyline is how the blurb described untill a few chapters ahead. Are you looking for a captivating romance with an unusual presentation? You should give it a try!http://wp.me/p1sYYP-Dh

This book is full of drama! Baby mamas getting out of hand, cheating, lying, gossip, but underneath all the drama is an incredible story of love and friendship.I loved these characters so much. Most people I've talked to about this book say Asia is their least favorite, but she is mine. I love her! Despite being a little selfish and a lot spoiled, she is after what every single woman wants...a man she can love and trust. She's been hurt and experiences an unwarranted amount of pain because of who she is. I think she's brave and honest and strong. I like female characters who are about their business and get things done. But the men in this book are great which I definitely expect from a romance novel. I'm definitely adding this book to my faves.

Once you get used to the way the story is presented, you get caught up in the lives of the characters and I found myself wanting to hug them and even slap them when they were acting stupid, which they did on occasion. Change of Heart was a heart wrenching look at how things change over time and how it affects who you are and what you want.

The characters were very refreshing & the story was a roller coaster ride that I didn't want to end. Speaking of ending, perfect & I was rooting for those two from the beginning. I was surprised to read that this was Ms Chanel first project & it was a job well done; kudos!
