Though heavier than Rough guides or Lonely Planet guides thanks to loads of glossy pages with pictures, the DK Eyewitness ones I find have better maps and descriptions as well as list of things to see, do and visit. This one focuses more on Delhi and dips into Agra and Jaipur, but is a good enough guide for Beginners who want to cover all the main sights.

Very nice guidebook. I always combine DK with some other cause this one maybe lacks in practical information in comparison with LP or Rough-guide but it's a nice reminder (with all photos) of the places you saw. Plus I remember seeing one of previous edition of DK on the bookshelf (some 10-15 years ago): I took it and was amazed with the image of the Taj and was thinking "I will be there one of these days!"

Delving in and out of this in preparation of my holiday coming up. Full of masses of information on the sights, smells and sounds that we'll encounter (hopefully). As usual with Eyewitness guides always useful to have along with you. In combination with `Trip Advisor' online, the best guides on the market.

The Taj Mahal is everything they say - it literally took my breath away when I first saw it. When you hear the tour guide tell the story of why it was built, you realize there really is true love in this world. I fell in love with India. The people of India are the nicest people I have ever met while travelling. I am so impressed with this culture. Amazing people!
