I see... Savannah - Your Baby, Binoculars, and African Animals (I see... Animals, #1) Reviews
This is a lovely little book, just the right sort of length for a little one, with sweet illustrations and a nice range of vocab. I particularly like the view of parts then revealing the whole animal.
Cute book for little ones. Nice simple graphics. Just long enough to hold their attention. 3.5 stars
This is not a review! I wrote and illustrated this ebook, so a review would be self serving. I'd just like to share my inspiration for delving into the publishing world. I love books, seriously look at how many I've read. I'm also a graphic designer. Once I had my daughter I fell in love with children's books all over again. Sharing books with her, and watching her learn to love them as much as I do, has been the greatest gift of parenting. I wanted to make something unique for her, something that she could enjoy even if I was gone. After a cancer diagnosis this winter I decided to stop waiting for "someday" to pursue my dream of being published and started developing the first in a series of ebooks geared toward young pre-readers like my daughter. I thought of how much she loves the zoo, and the guessing games we play to teach her about the animals. I distilled those ideas into I see... Savannah, so other parents can enjoy the same wonder of discovery and have fun engaging material on their ereader to share with a special child.
A very cute, entertaining book with simple phrasing, colourful illustrations. Perfect for pre-readers, for parents or grandparents reading to littlies and for early readers to read to younger siblings. My niece thought this was a wonderful way to teach her soft toys about African animals.I thought the 3 clues prior to the reveal of the animal were terrific for heightening anticipation and a fun way to teach & engage children in further discussion. Combining I Spy, Hide & Seek type game play was a great strategy to captivate and maintain attention, and encourage participation. In this technological age of e-readers, i-phones, netbooks & laptops this is a portable, fun & educational way to keep a young child entertained and definitely a lovely series to keep. Kirstan's next book in the series, I See ... Serengeti is now available.
Really cute book! Great for little ones with growing minds. Cute idea and excellent artwork.
