Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha, Michelle L. Olson:I have been, and will always be, a huge Maggie Shayne fan. Her Wings in the Night series is very special to me, & played an integral part in overcoming things during a very difficult time of my life. As soon as I had read them all and checked out a few of her other series, I started to hunt down her Classics. Fairytale and Forever Enchanted sat on my Kindle for quite awhile and now I am kicking myself for not reading them sooner. Fairytale was an absolutely wonderful adult fairytale, but Forever Enchanted took my breath away. Action packed from beginning to end, Forever Enchanted pulls you in from the very first page and never lets go. When you flip the last page you are left wanting for nothing, except maybe just a little bit more. :)Bridin and Tristan are an incredible heroine and hero and prove that the old cliche can often times be the most accurate - There really is a fine line between love and hate. Fated to be mortal enemies by the actions of their ancestors it was expected that they would forever battle for the throne of Rush (or as Tristan's people call it, Shara). In order to stop Bridin from taking the throne Tristan locked her away on the Other Side (the mortal realm) from the time she was a little girl. Just 10 years her senior though, while he had her locked away so that she couldn't steal the throne or kingdom from him, he couldn't find it within himself to ever harm her, and in fact, provided for her as best he could.Growing up with an animosity toward The Dark Prince, Bridin battles the conflicting feelings within herself over Tristan. He's her jailer, the one who stole her childhood, her freedom, and her throne, but he's always been a draw for her as well. She chalked it up to Stockholm Syndrome and a childish crush, but after she returns to Rush to try and reclaim the throne she realizes that it just might be much more than that. When a series of events in Shara force both of them back to the Other Side and back into one another's lives in a capacity other than adversaries for the throne, the passion between them ignites and though they fight it at every turn, it soon becomes apparent that there's no way they can deny it.Set in a complicated and beautiful world surrounded by captivating characters, Forever Enchanted was an emotionally charged and action packed thrill ride full of wonderful surprises.I adored this book, and I would recommend it to EVERYONE.LITERAL ADDICTION gives Forever Enchanted an easily earned 5 Skulls. This will definitely go on my re-read shelf. :)

After reading book one, I had to know what would happen with Bridin and Tristan. I honestly didn't expect to enjoy the story as much as I did. As a 40 year old woman, I am only just now enjoying fairy tale type stories and this one did not disappoint. I liked the chemistry between the two and the magic world of Rush was interesting - I enjoy different authors visions on what a magical world would look like. Overall - good story, quick read, and enjoyable.

It's not often you can say you love a sequel better than the first, but with this book, I definitely did! The dynamic between Tristan and Bridin was outstanding and so alluring! I felt more connected to these characters as their emotions and responses to each other and other circumstances were deeply moving, most likely due to their emotional intensity. A lot of that emotional intensity is set up from the first book in the series, which is great, because it sucks you right in. I struggled with setting the book down...I had to finish it all in one day! I was disappointed when later in the book there was an inconsistency about her past from the first book. It diminished the read a bit. I loved the book so much that I'm still going to give it a five even with the inconsistency. This book leaves off shortly after Fairytale ended. After escaping her captivity and returning to Rush in order to reclaim her family's throne, Bridin finds Tristan, her captor ruling as prince. She is committed to overthrowing his family and exiling them once again. Tristan is determined to keep the throne his father had reclaimed for his long-exiled family. Bridin and Tristan soon discover an inner conflict as Tristan and Bridin seem to have an emotionally charged connection, wishing neither harmed, and both adamantly deny it. When word of a raid is heard, Tristan orders Bridin's life spared, but his brother Vincent chooses to fulfill his long-awaited plans to usurp Tristan and take the thrown. He captures Bridin and attempts to strike her down with a sword, but Tristan leaps in and takes the death blow meant for Bridin. His last words to her are to run.Shaken, Bridin escapes Vincent, but learns Tristan has died for her. Crushed and conflicted that she had feelings for the "monster" that held her captive her whole life and killed her adopted family, she is forced to face a worse enemy than Tristan, her cherished nemesis. Using deceitful means, Vincent has managed to convince Tristan and Bridin's people they were betrayed by their leaders. Bridin is physically forced by her loyal followers to retreat to the mortal world where a wood nymph prophesies her only hope is to seek a male to marry and only then can they return together. Until then she cannot reenter Rush and is magically prohibited to do so.Tristan, saved only from his mortal wound by Bridin's necklace which Vincent cut from her neck, is also forced to retreat to the mortal world. He learns of Bridin's prophecy and plans to convince Bridin he is her destined mate, but with an illusioned appearance. Only then can he reclaim his throne and save his people from a tyrannical leader. Without his appearance, will the connection between them finally be free to run its course? Or will her soul recognize Tristan's? How would she ever be able to love the one who killed her adoptive family and imprisoned her, stealing her childhood and adolescence? Or is it possible Tristan saved her from something worse? Would she be able to set her feelings aside in order to save her people as Rush is being destroyed and her people are savagely mistreated?LOVED IT!

Frankly this book is an intresting read. You will actually fall in love with Tristan and Bridin, the lead characters. So here is how the story begins.Once upon a time there was this land known as Rush.It had a princess named Bridin, but her land got captured by the Shara. They ruled over her land for over more than 10yrs,and now the commander of the the land is prince Tristan. The rule of the land states that to become the king or the queen you need to be married.Bridin and Tristan are most passionate enemies to each other.Tristan can't harm Bridin more than she can harm him. Until Tristan loses his life for Bridin she didn't come to know that he loved her, infact she too loved him.The charcters are very much convincing in their role.Bridin is in love with Tristan but that doesn't keep her from contesting against him for her rule. She loves him passionately .Her character has the strength to fight,to survive,to love unconditionally.Tristan, the prince could lay his life for Brindin but doesn't know why.He thinks its due to the promise he gave to his friend. He loves Bridin to his core, to his soul. Now the twist is will the crown hold the power over love???If you have ever read fairytale stories you know the end.But this is a good one time read. You will certainly enjoy the story as well as the magic in it.

I actually liked this book better than the first one. I thought that both Bridin and Tristan stayed true to their established characters from book one and I was actually quite surprised at how much I enjoyed their story - and how much I wanted to read to the end.I don't want to say too much about the book and spoil it, but I will say this - don't try to read this book first. I think you need to know the characters from book one so that this book will make sense. It made me like Tristan and I never thought that would happen.I'm hoping there will be more books set in this world, but I have the feeling we've now seen the last of the fairy twins.

Okay, so this is one of my few forays into this genre, and I have to say, I wasn't feeling it so much. Perhaps it's because I missed the previous book, but I really wasn't feeling the connection between these two. So much of this book talks about how they feel about each other, but I never really felt it hit me, you know? Also, I found the trip into the "mortal realm" to be a bit bizzarre, and sort of out of place. I'm trying to understand the appeal of these kinds of novels, but I don't feel like this one really explained it to me very well.

Going into this book, I didn't want to like it. I was invested in the characters from book one, and wanted to know more about them. But, I was pleasantly surprised. In bridin's story it's more magic, and of course more love, but you get to be in the fairy kingdom, instead of the mortal one. The love story is sweet, and you know it can't end any other way than happily ever after. I thouroughly enjoyed this book.

I just finished this and I must say this was better than Fairytale. That's not to say Fairytale wasn't good because I loved it too! I wasn't sure how I felt about Bridin going into this story, but I totally fell in love with her! She is such a strong character. Tristan wasn't what I was expecting at all....he was SO much better. Loved this book and can't wait for more from Maggie Shayne!!

I love the "bad boy is actually good" books, and I've suspected this will be the case after finishing the first book in the series. And this book is so much better! I couldn't put it down, and after I finished the book I was left with the happiest feeling ever. Needless to say, I love the books that make me smile after I finish them and this one did.

It was a refreshing read!!!! Absolutely worth the time to read it! When I started the book I couldn't put it down! Literally! Bridin and Tristan's love was so romantic. Typical enemies falling in love. Then Marie pops out of no where in the climax of the story! Great surprise there! The ending I thought was very touching and all in all I say give this book a try; it's worth your time. :)

Forever Enchanted is kinda set up in Fairytale, if you didn't read the first one your kind of lost, not normal in Maggie Shayne's books.GREAT book Maggie Shayne amazed me AGAIN, I have only went into a couple of her books expecting not to like them. But always amazed by the end tht I was narrow minded enough to think tht I wouldn't like anything she writes.

Guess I got my wish to find out what happens to Bridin and Trystin. This was a really good with lots of action some magic from and enchanted castle and battles to be had. While their is a love story in here the battle continues for the throne, however, they both learn what is of greater importance. I thought this book would be more for tweens, however it is really a good adult fairy tale.

Just like the first book, Forever Enchanted is a great read that will leave you with a good mood and happy ending. I think this book had more action in it compared to the first, and the ending definitely makes you keep reading. I really enjoyed this :)

This is the sequel to "Fairytale" that is about fairies. This book was great! Much better than the first one! They are about twin sisters and what they do to try to avoid, or rule, their Fairy Kingdom, and the men they fall in love with as they are trying to accomplish one or the other.

I really liked this one... I hope that this author has more of this series in the offing. I did like it even more than the first in the series. I liked the male lead and the little twists... a nice weekend read.

I liked this much better than the first book in the series. In fact I read this first. Tristan & Bridin are both strong characters, just in different ways. The ending could have been better. All in all, an enjoyable read.

Love this book. A little too much graphic sex for ya but not too much for adults.Loved the characters but they seemed to pick up on the less important things easier than the more important ones. Plenty of stuff for a prequel.Iwant to know who Raze really is. Read it in one setting.

This one wasnt as bad as the first book! There are still sex scenes but they aren't as many. I still skipped them cause I could tell they were semi detailed but this story was also very good. I like the characters and their personalities.

I've really enjoyed these books. Mostly the struggle to keep the romance going and all the ups and downs has kept me interested. It's written well. I have enjoyed the fight scenes, which is always a plus.

I enjoyed this 2-book series by Shayne. It certainly amused me that the 'mortal' side of the family resided in Ithaca on the banks of the Cayuga -- right where I summer. I liked that. Nothing beats a fairy tale. Good reads.

Not as good as the first one, but I liked the characters better. There was a contradiction in the story as to the heroine's background which was annoying, but if you ignore that it's a sweet story.
