Um, I think I have an author crush on M.Leighton. :) After I read Blood Like Poison: To Kill An Angel, I felt like a fat cat with a belly full of warm milk sleeping in the sunshine. Yep, I was that contented. This series finale wrapped up all of the loose ends and lingering questions with a neat bow. I will definitely miss Ridley and Bo, but this has been an awesome ride following this series. Speaking of Bo... the heat factor turned up a few notches in this book. LOVED it. In typical M.Leighton fashion, the heat was tasteful and appropriate... but still very hot. I loved this series. M.Leighton is a fantastic author. If you haven't read her books, you should read this series today.

What an amazing book! I'm still getting more tears in my eyes just thinking about it! This whole series was a wonderful blend of two of my favorite things - vampires & angels. The was the most amazing conclusion I could have asked for! There were many moments so frustrating that I just wanted to scream and every scene was so intense I could hardly stand it! The villains are as evil as they come but Ridley and her friends remain as loving and selfless as ever! And Bo, oh Bo.. as always he is a perfect soul whose love for Ridley is extraordinary. Some of the scenes between Ridley & Bo are so hot & steaming they will have you running for a cold shower! There is not a dull moment to the entire book & this has easily made the series one of my favorites!

This book was by far the best in the series. I loved the other two, but this one took it to a whole new level. It was well worth the wait. I love this author and her ability to weave such fascinating tales of suspense, terror, emotion, and epic love. This book had every element needed to ensure that the reader would not be able to put it down. M. Leighton grows before our very eyes with this one, proving that she is not only a fantastic storyteller, but she is a brilliant writer. I lost myself many times inside the lives of Bo and Ridley, and found myself genuinely sad to part with them at the conclusion of this series. This is one for the virtual "keeper shelf," and is a series that I will read again and recommend to everyone.

Warning: This book is EPIC!!!!!!!!!!My Rating: 5 of 5 MILLION!My Cover Thoughts: I absolutely love this cover. Bo is an angel and he has wings that are white with gold in them. He is staring down at something or someone. He is a breath of fresh air on this cover. My Thoughts/Review: This is the conclusion to The Blood Like Poison series and wow what an ending. When I read a series I never want it to end because I know I am going to miss the characters but I will re-read this series for years to come. This story captivated me right from the beginning because it had angels and fallen angels but it also had a love story that tore at your soul.It started out with Ridley having some difficulties in her home life but she put on a happy face and went to school and was the perfect daughter. She loved her parents and loved her boyfriend and all she planned was to finish high school and go to Stanford University. All her plans get put on hold when she meets a mysterious guy at school. She is not sure what it is but she knows she needs to be with him. Then she meets him after school and they hit it off like they have been friends forever. The only thing is, is that she is part of the popular group and they just don’t date anyone. She knows she does not love her boyfriend anymore and when she tries to break it off things don’t go so well. She eventually breaks it off and starts dating Bo. As things start to look good for her and Bo things start to fall apart at home and at school because kids are missing and crazy stuff is starting to happen. Ridley and Bo have to figure out what is happening before it is too late.In the EPIC and I mean EPIC conclusion Bo and Ridley have to figure out a way to save the world as well as themselves and their relationship. Bo will be tried by some new friends and some old friends. His love will be tested and tried to see if he can withstand the chaos. Ridley will lose things and people she loves but in the end will she withstand the trial and tribulations to get the one prize she has always wanted? That prize is Bo.You will meet new people that will either help Bo and Ridley or hurt them. Cade is a gorgeous human that looks a little familiar to Ridley but she can’t place it yet. Then there is the BEAUTIFUL Annika. What does she want and why is she there. When Ridley finds out she is not happy at all. Devon is back and is helping his love Savannah. And olalala Lucius in his Irish brogue is still the vampire that every girl *swoons* about! He will make your heart leap out of your chest and leave you standing there wondering what in the hell happened! She will have to do things she does not want to and she will have to give up the one thing she holds dear to her. She will be tested and tried in ways she never imagined but in the end will it be worth it? This conclusion was EPIC and had me at the edge of my seat and I could not believe the ending! I just loved loved loved it. It was action packed and full of love that will rock you to the core. You are rooting for Bo and Ridley through the whole story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Happy Reading and Happy falling in love with BOAZ!Memorable Quotes: “So you’ll go to college with me?” “Yes.” “After that, will you help me pick out a house somewhere along the coast, near the water?” “Sure,” I said, deciding it was just better to go along with his fantasy and not shoot holes in it. “And after that, will you help me decorate it?” “Yep.” “And after that will you marry me?” My mouth went bone dry at his question. I could think of nothing I’d like more than to marry Bo. Images of making love with him flitted through my mind and desire flooded my body like molten lava. “Yes, I’ll marry you,” I answered breathlessly. “And after that, will you have a baby with me?” Thoughts of the dark-haired boy I’d imagined rolled through my mind in a wave that eclipsed the other thoughts. “Yes.” “And after that, will you spend eternity with me?” And, just like that, the wind was officially gone from my sails. “I’ll spend eternity loving you,” I said, casting my eyes down to his chin, “and mourning you.” “Why?” he asked coyly. “That’s what you do when the person you love most in the world dies.” “Well, do you plan on killing me off?” “What? Of course not.” “Then you won’t be getting rid of me for many, many lives.” At that, I pushed myself into a sitting position. “What? I mean, how? You’re mortal, aren’t you?” Bo smiled, the kind of smug smile that reminded me of the cat who ate the canary. “Nope.” Despite the knowledge that he’d wanted to be mortal, wanted to be human more than anything, I thrilled at the idea that he wouldn’t leave me, that I wouldn’t have to watch him die. “How? What happened? I thought…” “I made a deal.” “With whom?” “God, of course,” Bo snorted. “What kind of deal?” I asked suspiciously. Bo shrugged. “My mortality for your life.” “What?” “It’s not a big deal.” “Not a big deal? You wanted to be mortal more than anything!” “I wanted to be mortal until I met you. Now, nothing matters except being with you and, as far as that goes, the longer the better.” “But Bo—” “Shh,” he said, pressing his fingertip to my lips this time. “No buts. I thought you’d be happy.” “I am. I mean…I am! I just don’t want you making sacrifices for me.” “You mean like throwing myself in front of a bullet or a train or a…sword made from a feather?” he asked pointedly. “That was different. I knew that you would die if I didn’t.” Bo sat up, too.Leighton, M. (2011-09-01). Blood Like Poison: To Kill an Angel (Book 3, Blood Like Poison Series) (Kindle Locations 5474-5520). This was another great book from M. Leighton. I have enjoyed every book that I have read of hers. When I read a book that is exclusively published as an ebook I often have expectations that the book will be just a notch below the quality of something that has gone through the rigorous editing procedures to become a professionally published work. I expect the writing to be good enough, but with significant flaws, usually flaws in the pacing of the plot or in the richness of the details. However, in all of the books I have read by Leighton I have discovered an excellent descriptive story with enough details to paint a realistic world in which I can immerse myself. I find characters that are multi-dimensional who I can relate to and care about. I find a plot that pushes me along at exactly the right pace, not too fast or too slow. I don't feel as if I am being fed repetitive and hokey lines over and over again. Instead I find a beautiful and fun story to read. That is the case once again in this third and final novel in the Blood Like Poison series. All of the main characters return, and now some of the mystery of the previous two books begins to unravel. The two sides are drawn up -- Bo and Ridley on the side of Good, and Sebastian and Heather on the side of Bad. While the previous two books focused a lot on the life of a not-so-typical high school, this book takes the action away from the school and places it primarily in Sebastian's newly abandoned mansion. Bo and Ridley take over this home along with two new characters, Cade and Annika. They use this place as a staging ground as they prepare for the ultimate battle that will take place between Bo and Sebastian and will determine the future of the world as well as the future of Bo and Ridley as a couple. I believe that moving the action away from the high school helps the story a lot. It seems less like a high school melodrama and more like the paranormal romance that it is meant to be. In this book Bo is finally able to take a starring role. Of course, he was important in the other two books, but he spent so much of his time invisible that although he might have been there, he never really was. Luckily in this book he gets to hang around most of the time. He is probably most every teenage girl's vision of what a perfect boyfriend would be -- totally devoted to the happiness of Ridley, willing to sacrifice all that he has for her safety, brave, smart, funny, and let's not forget, drop dead gorgeous. He can certainly bring about many swoon worthy moments in this book. But, hurray, he is not totally perfect in every way. He has a few flaws, and those flaws keep him interesting as a character. He is still a little too perfect for real life, but for a paranormal romance he strikes the right balance to make a good leading man.Ridley gets to struggle in this book with her new role as a vampire, a role that she was forced into against her will, even though it would seem to aid her in her desire to be with Bo forever. She struggles with her thoughts as she sees the benefits of her new status as well as some very difficult issues that come because of it. I like that Ridley is not a simpering fool of a female lead who just spends all of her time fawning over the hotness of her boyfriend (although she does think about this a lot -- but hey! she's a teenage girl, and they are known to do this once in a while). Ridley, however, also takes charge of the situations she finds herself in, and she is willing to do her part to defend herself, her boyfriend, and her friends. I liked the ending to this book a lot as the final battle takes place between Bo and Sebastian. It wasn't overly rushed. There was just the right amount of suspense and action. One slight concern I had (spoiler ahead!) when Bo agreed to give up his mortality once again to become immortal so that he could be with Ridley -- that seems to bring up some future concerns. They will supposedly have a child later in life, but will that child eventually die as a mortal? And then what? Will they just continue to stick around on earth as all those who they know and love fade and die over and over and over again? Will that end up being a fairy tale ending for them? I don't know. I'm sure that I am way over thinking everything here. This, however, was just a slight issue I had with the ending. It didn't harm my overall enjoyment of the book. This was a well written book that ended wonderfully. Leighton is still on my list of favorite authors. Her style speaks to me, and I will continue to read her books as quick as I can get hold of them.

Outstanding ending to a fabulous trilogy! This one was still introducing characters that are imperative to the storyline. It also wasn't quite as gory as the second book, but there were still quite a few edge of your seat moments. I also love how God was actually portrayed as a true entity instead of some possibly imaginary being, as you find with many of today's pc authors. I was glad that death (in a particular instance) wasn't a horrible tragedy to be mourned, as Heaven was the next step. The only thing that bothers me is that while Ridley and Bo's story is wrapped up nicely, it seemed as if there were a lot of other loose ends that could have been tied up with quite a few of the secondary characters; namely Lucien, Cade, Devon, and Savannah. I would looooove to see Cade get his own book or three. (hint, HINT) I liked him almost as much as Bo.Kudos to Ms. Leighton for an awesome series that far surpassed my expectations!

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end :( I really enjoyed this story, finished reading it on the same day I started, it was so entertaining that I just couldn't put it down. I'm going to miss the characters and their great chemistry. I was really satisfied with the ending that M. Leighton gave to this wonderful series. Nothing with the story seemed forced, and its progression was pretty logical which is something I appreciate. I really hate it when authors give unnecessary twists to their stories because they can't create a good ending. This just shows what a good storyteller Leighton is.

I saw reviews and I couldn't wait to buy it so I could continue on this journey with Bo (sigh) and Ridley. Let me tell you I was NOT disappointed! I purchased this book late last night and had to make myself put it down in the wee hours of the morning...I could not wait for nap time so I could see how it ended! LOL!! What a great twist to the popular vampire trend making this series stand out on its own! I hated to see "The End" because that means be venturing into the intoxicating world Ms. Leighton created anymore. :(

I am soooo sad to see this series end!!! What am I going to do without my Bo fix? Sigh.I'm eagerly downloading several of Ms. Leighton's other series, but I will always hold a special place on my kindle for this series. Great characters, great plot, great ending. The perfect close to a fun ride :-)

What a fantastic end to a very captivating paranormal series. Ridley and Bo's relationship grew right before our eyes into a perfect love. It was so sweet to see the two interact with each other and boy does Bo know exactly what to say! This series was wonderful it held my curiosity to the very end which usually one book will lose my interest.

Wowza - Fanstastic series! The book was the final one in the trilogy and it kept me guessing the whole way through. Was Savannah really so innocent? Was Cade setting them up? Was Annika setting them up? Was Devon a baddie? Arghhh I was on the edge of my chair, bed, carseat. I couldn't put it down. Would Bo the unkillable vampire, son of 2 angels be able to kill his father, angel and the first vampire ever? Would he be able to discover the love letter etched in Ridleys skin with the answers to defeat his father before his father gathered all the blood he needed to kill him? The whole vampire with wings thing really worked for me. I wanted to see more of Bo, literally. Preferably naked and doing naughty things to me. I loved all the innuendo and the steamy looks that Bo and Ridley shared aswell as their intense connection. I think they have moved into my favorite couples! What happened with the parents? Nothing I guess. They didn't really deserve a part anyway seeing as though they were just so self absorbed. Nothing much happened with Lucious either really, I thought he would have a big part in the victory or demise but nothing? What a fantastic ending. It wasn't long and drawn out and had just the right amount of suspense for me. I love love loved it. If you haven't read this series, do so, it was really great!!!!!!

A beautiful ending to a great series! If you've been a fan of Ridley and Bo from the beginning you won't be disappointed in this last book in the trilogy. M. Leighton does a wonderful job of tying everything together and making sure Bo's and Ridley's story comes to a conclusive ending. The only real question I had throughout the series was why Bo and Ridley couldn't ever get really intimate? If it was explained before I couldn't remember and even though this story pretty much takes care of that issue (even tho I'm not saying how, but it's so fun to read!), I can't remember why they keep putting it off.I was surprised how things played out at the end, which was nice. Ridley saw her future and I wasn't expecting it to really happen, but it did. Ridley only saw little bits so we were left guessing what would happen after her shared visions with Cade. That's anothing thing - I ate up Bo's jealousy! I thought it was brilliant to make everyone's future depend on someone other than Bo and Ridley. I liked the other characters were major players in this game. I do have to say that I really would love to read morea bout Devon (I think that was his name) and Savannah's story. I feel in love with their relationship just as much as I did Bo and Ridley's and I think they could possibly have a story of their own. Just a small request for M. Leighton :)

I really loved this series! I'm a sucker for any love story, expecially a love story complete with vampires and angels. To Kill an AngelLast night when I was reading the second book Destined for a Vampire me and my friend were discussing books, as we love to do, and I recomeneded this series to her and she is going to read. I am really excited to know what she thinks of the series. Also, as we were talking since I was all most done with the second book, I finished it about an hour later and then I bought the last book. I stayed up until six in the morning reading To Kill an Angel. I finished it in seven hours. I feel really proud of myself for doing so, though it made me really tired it was worth it. And, I am really proud and honored to have read Ms Leightom's books. If I could, I would give this book ten stars!Thank you!

ANYTHING LESS THAN A FIVE STAR IS UNACCEPTABLE !!!!!!Holly Molly this was the most awesomest concluding book ever . Obviously we all knew it had to be a happy ending , but the path to that happy ending my friend was what took my heart away . Unconditional love , faith & belief and ultimately the willingness to sacrifice oneself for your beloved could definitely be the theme of this book . Ridley and Bo were simply amazing in this book . Their love , OMG , dont even get me started on that . It was soooo full of passion and desires .. Totally loved them in this book . I was glad that everyone got what they deserved in the end . I'm so glad that i read this that i'm kinda speechless .. It has to be read to be experienced . This book is totally E-P-I-C !!!!A must read , if you hav'nt you are definitely missing out !! You'll totally love this and wont regret reading it !!:)

Is there any possible way to give this book higher than five stars? No? Well make it possible! I absolutely fell in love with this series. I love how the author put a good twist to the whole vampire theme. I would have to say that this is by fare one of my favorite series. I loved how I thought I knew what was going to happen then all of a sudden something jumps at me from behind and scares the c*** out of me! I loved this book so much I read it in a couple of hours (I would have read it faster but my mom was on my case to do the chores:/) Can't wait to read more books by this author. I can already tell I'm going love her books:)!

*Possible Spoiler Alert*Loved, Loved, Loved It!!!!Ü Events in this final book of the Blood Like Poison series happened so quickly that my heart never had time to calm. (Which was bad, because I was so busy I wasn't able to read very many chapters at a time.) I wasn't surprised that the ending to Bo's destiny would involve great sacrifice- "The Blood of Love." While most events in "To Kill an Angel" were often found to be frightening and tragic (which were awesome); the ending was pure bliss. Bo and Ridley's "Happily Ever After" was/is beautiful. I look forward to re-reading and enjoying the Blood Like Poison series again in the future.

This was a fantastic conclusion to the BLP series! It was exciting, sexy, and thrilling! I do have to say, though, that when Bo pledges his undying love, I find the things he says to be very unrealistic...meaning...that I have never had a man talk to me like that. BUT it doesn't mean I don't LOVE reading about a man who does talk that way!!! He completely melts your heart! The bond between Bo and Ridley was so intense and breathtaking! The plot was full of excitement! And, as always, the writing was flawless! Excellent series! Can't wait to read it all again!

What an excellent end to a great series. I wish there could have been more books, but alas it can be good to end things on such a fantastic note. I loved how at every turn there was something that was keeping the reader enthralled. I know that personally I had a hard time putting it down. Hopefully, crossing my fingers, there will someday be a follow up book, like an added bonus. (prob. not) Regardless, I will absolutely recommend this series to my friends.

I was not as engrosed with this book as I was with the other two books in this series. The story was still great and had a good ending, but I did not feel any emotions while reading and therefore I found it hard connecting and becoming a part of this tale of true love. The content was intense (people being attacked, sacrafice, love, etc.) however, those intended emotions were not conveyed in a way that allowed me as the reader to truly experience the same things as the characters.

"Forever is a long sweet time"Love this last book in the series. Of course, there were some loopholes.. which maybe aren't important anyway but ohmy, this threw me off. The book is thrilling as well as really quite romantic. Its a healthy dosage of "awwww's". The ending was a bit predictable, given the fact that the heroine have seen it already but, it was good nonetheless. Love it~

This was my favorite book in the series. The way Bo and Ridley's love grew was beautiful. The way they cared about each other was portrayed so well in the writing. The ending was perfect for the series and I am sad to see the series end. I look forward to reading more of M. Leighton's books!

Holy cow. I will come back and edit this review later, but fantabulous! Best book of the series, usually the final installments are somewhat of a letdown for me, but this was beyond great.
