Abby's First Book of Shapes Reviews
This Sesame Street themed book presents basic shapes to youngsters. Unfortunately, the definition used for rectangle is wrong, hence why the poor rating.Grover likes rectangles!A rectangle has four sides and four angles. Two sides are long, and two sides are short.Grrrr . . . I get that the fine details of definitions may not be fleshed out in a children's book, but c'mon. This is just wrong!
I thought that this was a really good way of teaching your child or a preschool class their shapes! They also get to learn from a character they may see on Sesame Street. When I read this for class I thought it was over all a good book to teach with and it was cute and colourful!
So, wait. What's the difference between a square and a rectangle again?
Well done and your baby can learn shapes from a character they know from Sesame Street.
This book is very short and easy for kids to read. It teaches them about different shapes. I think this book would be perfect in any pre-k/kindergarten classroom for students to look at whenever time is allotted.
