Good fixThis was good. Whew, the things us women go through with men! We will try our best to fix one up. Mia did it in this book. She knew what she wanted. She encouraged him and stuck with him and get she got Tyrone right. Some things should have been left out. I really wanted to know the truth about Eric, tho. Good read.

It's rare that I read a book and it has me rolling around on the floor laughing 3 pages in. I like to laugh but this is not exactly a story I'd call comedic. It's a book about people and Mr. Walker's talent for putting his writing fingers on the pulse of what people are really like is undeniable and a gift we readers are lucky he's willing to share. Whether it’s Mia's intrepid focus and independence, her sister's twenty something cluelessness, the adorable and believable kids, the hapless Eric, the provincial class conscious African businessman, or SHAREEFA, everyone in this story was believable. The only character that seemed one dimensional to me was supposed to be so it worked. And then there’s Tyrone. Okay look I like a patient man. Especially one who’s hot, tough, and persistent. I like Tyrone’s passages best because I got the sense for him it was a journey that, despite his early bravado, he didn’t necessarily see how it would all come out in the end. Tyrone’s obvious challenges and the hard won tentative allegiance that Mia eventually gives him was believable. It was also uplifting to watch the outcome unfold.

keep reading past the first 40 or 50 pages. and the plot gets better! from the beginning I was not impressed infact I was depressed. so I went back to the reviews and people gave it 4 and 5 stars ... in my head I'm like do they know this author or does this book really get good? it really gets great!the first few pages were good but after that I was detached from the characters, the conversation, the drama, blah blah But things truly pick up and the author weaves together a wonderful plot of determination, drama, action, and love! mr. walker writes soooo well it reminds of what I loved about eric jerome dickey before his books went "out of touch". never did I feel the plot was forced nor did i feel the plot was all words but no point. everything past the first few chapters were page turning and interesting.another thing Mr. walker manages to do is really capture a woman's point of view. what's that: intimacy ! the way things look: his muscles, his lips, his touch, and the main character's emotions. I often find male writers may be good at writing a plot but miss the important things like emotion, compassion, love, and intelligence. This author's writing made sure all aspects were touched even the motherly duties, business duties, menstral cycle ( almost all authors leave this out of their books ) and a wonderful connection with family. loved it!

I simply loved this book, Mia was one of the strong black women you like to read about. She is a single black mother with two children, independent, taking care of her sister and attaining her career goals. She has been having bad luck finding a good man then along comes Tyrone, back in her life after being absent because of a 9 year prison sentence this is where the story gets good. I like Keith Thomas Walkers writing because he writes women like he understands them; I like it because he writes about everyday people, with real challenges and goals a normal person can attain. When Mia and Tyrone form the plan, it was a plan anyone could do, I really liked that. I liked this book so much that I smiled most of the time I was reading it and found myself staying up all night to complete it. I now know I have to read every book this author has written, because his writing is that good. Great job Mr. Walker you keep writing and I will keep reading your books.

What a way for a ex convict to be redeemed. I loved this story. It was real with so hard truths included. At times I thought Mia went a little overboard with her attitude. But sitting back I can see how she wanted (not needed) a man that was bringing his A game to match her A game. And why shouldn't she. She is doing her thing so why shouldn't she have a partner that was putting forth the same effort. Tyrone is a man seeking to better his life and once he has the one thing he wants more than anything (Mia's love and belief in him) he is able to believe in himself and accomplish want others have said he couldn't do.

Well, well, well, Mr. Walker has done it again! He wrote the hell out of this story. Even though there were times the heroine (Mia) got on my nerves, I admired her determination and how she stuck to her guns about what she wanted in her life. And I have to admit I was looking at Tyrone with the side-eye throughout most of this story but he stepped up to the plate in a major way. About three quarters into the book I found myself really rooting for him. With his perseverance and Mia's faith in him, they were victorious. Love Tyrone and Mia! Love Keith Thomas Walker's storytelling!

Oh my goodness this was such a feel good book & I appreciated every bit of it. It was great TO see Mia a successful business woman, loving mother and sister help out Tyrone an ex con, her baby daddy and the man she loves through encouragement and a little push in the positive direction. GREAT READ!

This book was really good. It goes to show you, that if you believe in love and your man all things is possible. What a great book.
