Belonging to Them Reviews
Decent enough story but the plot was thin. The post apocalyptic element was considered and included but I think not nearly considered enough. How long had it been since the catastrophe? Why was there still lots of stuff left at the Walmarts? Wouldn't all that have been looted in the first days? Mostly the story really needed to be fleshed out. The conflict was weak but the emotions were fairly well done. I think the book could have benefited from some more plot and perhaps some secondary characters.
4 starsThis was a very good story. I really liked Heather, Brandon and Bolton and enjoyed their story. This is the first story I've read by this author and based off this I'm sure I'll try more of her work in the future. In this story's world there have been plagues and multiple other problems that have taken down the world governments and killed off 2/3rds of the population. Women are scarce and with little to no government, most women are little more than slaves. I'm not sure how long after all the apocalyptic incidents the story takes place in but it seems to be about 10 years or so because the characters remember growing up in normal times.Heather grew up in Mississippi to foster parents. She lost them in the plagues and while traveling with other survivors she's kidnapped by some men and sold to a brothel in Barter town. She isn't happy about what's been forced on her and after being there for a month she manages to escape. She hides out in the trailer of some men heading out of town hoping to escape to something better.Brandon and Bolton are brothers and have a farm a ways away from Barter town. They are pretty self sufficient but need supplies and to trade for what they need and happen to be on a trip in to town when they catch a woman in their trailer. They know they shouldn't get involved but can't stomach sending her back to the brothel as they hate what's being done to the women there. Brandon and Bolton let Heather come along with them and promise to take care of her. Along the way home, they stop in some wolf-infested territory that has stores for looting and get her clothing and supplies. Heather figures she'll have to provide the men with sex for safety but figures it's better to be with 2 men of her choosing than being forced to take any man sent to her. She's very surprised when Brandon and Bolton don't jump her and make it clear that they wont take anything she's unwilling to give. This relaxes her and she starts to find her place on the farm, helping around the house and with the garden and farm animals. She has sex with them pretty quickly and things start pretty good. The problem is that there are wolves and other dangers that could hurt her and Brandon and Bolton are very protective, wanting to escort her anywhere not close to the house. This becomes a bone of contention (even though logically she knows it's not safe) and at one point when the guys can't find her and freak out, Heather blows up at them and tells them she feels like she's more of a possession and not someone who's cared about. With some time, Heather gets past her issues with her limited safety and restrictions and actually comes to care about both Brandon and Bolton. Brandon took her words to heart though and believes she only accepts him because she has to and doesn't really want him. He starts pulling back from her emotionally (even though he has fallen for her) and Heather is hurt by it. This goes on for a while and although it's a stupid misunderstanding I liked it because it's believable. So much of the time love is foolish and we see what we expect and not always what's there because we let fear rule us. This story was a prime example of this and it caused some major upheaval for this threesome. Bolton ends up torn between the 2 people he cares about most because he knows they both love each other and can't get them both to see what's going on. As the description notes, Heather gets hurt in a wolf attack and Brandon realizes the error of his ways. Once Heather recovers Brandon has to be honest with her about his feelings and mistakes and hope she can forgive him. Heather doesn't forgive immediately but does before too long and the trio makes good on their new start. We leave the story with a happy surprise as the trio settles in to their HEA.This was a very enjoyable story. I liked the characters and the plot was relatively simple but it was interesting enough to keep my attention to the end. I'm planning to read more of this series in the future. I'd recommend this book for anyone interested in post-apocalyptic menages. Thumbs up. :D
Sweet, sizzling and satisfying! In the Border Lands, the world as we know it has ceased to exist and women are in short supply. As a consequence of the general lawlessness and their scarcity, women are regarded as chattels by many and some are kept as slaves. I thoroughly enjoyed this romance and loved learning about the futuristic society the tales are set in. The read illustrates the pleasures to be had by having two men available to bring the heroine to the heights of ecstasy! Highly recommended if you are looking to indulge in some fun erotic reads! In Belonging to Them, Heather, escaping captivity, takes refuge with brothers Brandon and Bolton. The brothers are ripped and handsome and I loved it that they were both committed to gaining her trust and putting her at ease. Whereas Bolton makes no secret that he cares deeply for Heather and wants a loving relationship with her, Brandon appears surly and increasingly standoffish, refusing to acknowledge he cares and believing that Heather prefers his brother above him. I really felt for him as he has his reasons for acting in that way. Heather loves both brothers but will a schism develops between Heather and Bolton and Brandon on the other side? It takes nearly losing Heather before the stubborn Brandon realises his mistake, but will she forgive him? This story was the first I had read by the author and I loved the scorching and intense love-making scenes, which leave nothing to the imagination! Please note, a copy of this book was given to me by the author for the purpose of a fair and honest review.
It was a pretty good read. It makes you think about what can happen and how to live when a third of the population is gone. I was just thinking too that I wonder why no one else had thought to go into the stores in the town that they frequented to shop, but since it is overrun by wolves and it IS only a third of the population it makes since. They never did take more than what they needed either. I mean a few extra things here and there, but nothing excessive. Anyways, just something to think about. I really liked the heroes in this one. While the one was a bit protective and somewhat possessive, I didn't see things the way the heroine did. I actually didn't care for her all that much and didn't feel much sympathy for her when he had pulled himself away. She herself had called him her jailer and then decided he needed to be all warm and loving again. Eh, to me she just came off as more spoiled and selfish. Overall, the story was good and the character development was okay. I'm just not sure yet whether I will continue with the series.
I loved this story telling how these 3 survived after the year of catastrophes across the country that ended up devastating the earth and toppling the government all over the world. WOW! Makes a person think. I cant wait for the book two
good menage story

I really enjoyed this book. Loved the feelings of the characters. It wasn't all happy joy joy but had a lot of angst. The sex scenes were hot. m All in all a really great book.
Different. Too repetitive.
