Bird Of Prey Reviews
Published in 2004, the author's bio states that he is married with 5 kids at this point. :)The plot of this book is that something happens in space and Kelsey reaches out to Nolan (on earth) for help. He must uncover a mystery and figure out a way to save Kelsey. The author's feelings towards women have shifted 180 degrees from the last book. No rapes or sexual imagery. There is even a trio of professional, empowered women seen in space with Kelsey. This book marked a return to his earlier pleasant tone. Yes! :)My problem with the book (the 3-star rating) is that it was excessively technical and wordy. I lost interest and kept putting it down to read other books. I had to force myself to finish reading it.
Fast-paced thriller, starring ex-Navy SEAL Nolan Kilkenny. A killer satellite in space is using a laser to fortify the launch business of a commercial company, led by a sociopath. Nolan's girlfriend is on the International Space Station, when a survivor of a blast arrives, and she contacts him via backdoor channels. Nolan then finds a series of other attacks involving Chinese and Russian assets in space, and he digs deep to find the culprit. This is one of those books where it is necessary to suspend belief, but I liked all four of Tom Grace's books.
This book was an entertaining read, although pretty far-fetched in a lot of aspects. The author tried too hard to provide a lot of technical information, but didn't always do it in the right places. The plot is also pretty hard to believe, in a lot of different aspects, but still easy to follow and interesting to read.
This is another in the series about Nolan Kilkenny and it is just as fast paced and action filled as the last one. If you like intense reading filled with twists and turns, this book is for you.
