Weighing My OptionsBusiness savvy, intelligent and ready to finally add a hyphen to her name, Amber Ross can’t figure out what the hold up is. Her last boyfriend kind of disappeared. When he resurfaces, it’s to tell her that he’s engaged to be married. Apparently she did not make the final cut. While feeling dejected, Amber knows that she needs to be in church. And sure enough, the answer is there. A course - Wife 101. Is this finally the help she needs to find someone to put a ring on it? During the course of 12 weeks, Amber and her classmates evaluate their roles as career women, wives, and mothers. The more she attends the class, the more she applies what she’s learned to her life. Soon she’s feeling better about herself and the proof is single and looking Amber is now juggling the attention of three men. Can one of these be the best man for her? “Wife 101” by Dr. A’ndrea J. Wilson is an insightful, relative and eye-opening read. From page one, I was completely absorbed in both the lesson as well as the story. I love how the lessons aligned with what was happening in Amber’s life. I followed along with my bible and this is definitely a book that you will reference over and over again. I LOVE “Wife 101” and highly recommend to all! In fact, I believe that it would make for a very interesting book club read as the women can share, learn and understand together.Nardsbaby is officially on Team Amber

Class Is In Session Thirty-something-year-old businesswoman Amber Ross hasn’t been lucky at love and finding Mr. Right. When her church offers a personal development training course, Wife 101, Amber reluctantly signs up. Over the next several weeks, Amber will have to face some hard facts about herself. This is my second read by A’ndrea Wilson and she hasn’t disappointed me yet. Quite different from her previous novel, “The Things We Said We Would Never Do,” “Wife 101” tackles the internal journey and growth of one woman. Though the premise of the book surrounds a course offered by the main character’s church and heavily relies on a particular bible passage, I didn’t find the novel to be too preachy. Wilson offers a good balance of information and entertainment. While the main character Amber was highly successful, she was down to earth and relatable, dealing with struggles common to women. With a relatable, likable character it’s easy for readers to have a vested interest in the story and Amber’s plight. “Wife 101” is what I refer to as grown folks reading. A reader looking for an alternative to books that rely heavily on drama, gimmicks, clichés and sex, A’ndrea Wilson is your answer. OOSA Selected Read (Jan)

Wife 101 by A'ndrea J. Wilson -5 starsGod works in mysterious ways.  I purchased this book on the recommendation of another avid reader not knowing what it was really about.  The book is a fictional romance based around the teaching of the Proverbs 31 woman.  I know you say it's fiction but the Word is very real and always leads you to the Truth.  Don't just take my word for it...read it for yourself I promise you won't  be disappointed. Amber Ross is a serious business woman.  She has three businesses that are all pulling in monthly profits. She has just been dumped by her long term boyfriend and can't seem to find her way in the romance department.  Just as she is about to fall off the deep in she learns about a new class at church, Wife 101 focusing on Proverbs 31.  Once the first class was over she committed to focusing on the scriptures and re-evaluating her life.  Slowly she begin to let God take over and her life came into focus.  Her relationships changed with her mom and step-father, she realized her friends advice wasnt always the best, and learned to discern how to react to her gentleman callers.  Amber came to understand that "all things work together for the good for those that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).Wilson has written a story that transcends all boundaries. Wife 101 is a teaching and learning tool for anyone wanting to improve on their relationships.  The character development is steady and believable while the storyline intriguing.  It made me do further study of the scriptures used in the book and refocused my own personal journey as a wife and mother.  This book is clearly winner that I will be purchasing as gifts for friends that cross my path.  Definitely a top 5 read for 2012.

EnlighteningI really enjoyed this book. It definitely opened my eyes. I have a better understanding of Proverbs 31. I tried reading in the past but wasn't getting it. Didn't want to ask anyone to clarify. Wilson explains through a character, Amber Ross, I can pretty much relate to.On judgement alone, you'd think Amber had it all. But in reality, she doesn't. She learns her ex is getting married and she wonders what's wrong with her. She enrolls in a class being taught at her church. She goes in thinking it would help her to sort through her flaws. She comes out learning that and then some. With the wisdom she has gained, she is now powered to make better decisions. Will this wisdom work in her favor?

The Virtuous Woman.Amber Rose is the ultimate professional. Young, attractive, educated, owner of multiple businesses and money is not an issue. Amber believes she is quite a catch for any man, so why does she have a long list of exes?Is it enough to be successful, financially well off, and independent? Are these the right ingredients for a successful relationship? Amber thought it was until her current beau left her to marry someone else!Pretty much devastated and confused Amber enrolls in a “Wife 101” class at her church. The class “explores the role of a wife from “the biblical perspective and apply these truths to contemporary society and lifestyles.”While attending the 12 week class Amber and the other women study and discuss, and through Proverbs 31 taught by a wise teacher named Lydia, they are forced to look deep within and reevaluate. But Amber realizes that not only is it important to put negative issues from her past to rest, and that forgiveness is the start to change, but that her ambitious and aggressive traits may not get her an understanding man but a clone of herself!! I really enjoyed this read, the lessons along with all the drama between Amber and the three men in her life Gold, Eric, and Chris who play direct roles in showcasing Amber’s strengths and weaknesses. The shift in Amber’s personality was clear by the end of the story. I loved how she interacted with her step father in the hospital, as I stated before forgiveness is always the start to change.I had to laugh out loud at Gold’s approach to Amber outside the church! The ending was very nice, and I applaud Author A’ndrea J. Wilson for doing a great job weaving a fiction story around Proverbs 31. I’m looking forward to “Husband 101”A highly recommended read!Locksie June 17th 2012ARC Book Club Inc.Star Rating 5.0*****

Dr. A'ndrea Wilson has written a superb piece of work that has enlightened my soul (mind and emotions) as well as my spirit when it comes to singleness to being blessed. I know God has blessed her pen. She has given me this work as a gift to review. (Therefore, I cannot wait to read the next edition of the 101 series; Husband 101). This is the first time (even in story form) that shares life-learned filled lessons as chapter headings and sufficient teachings on Proverbs 31 in written form. Although I've briefly heard pastors' teachings, studies, and even radio programs speaking on this subject area yet never so informative, in-depth, and also for women to clearly grasp its meaning of being a Proverbs 31 woman (including the first nine verses is a queen teaching her son who is now king to choosing the right woman who would also help rule over the nation). I can relate to Amber Ross. I may not be her and as successful at this point in my life but she has it definitely going on without a husband to share it with (or to show for) in which sounds a lot like me. She'll be a featured guest on December 14 and 21st on my virtual ministry radio program to discuss Wife 101 and Husband 101 (DYRP Midnight Hour, 724-444-7444 code:91725# pin:1# at 8 PM CST).Adrienna TurnerAuthor of "God is in the Equation"www.dream4more.webs.com (Dream 4 More Reviews)

Where do I begin in writing a review for this book? Dr. A'ndrea Wilson was definitely in tune with God when she wrote Wife 101. From the first lesson (she uses "Lesson" instead of "Chapter), I knew I was in for a treat (even though this book is talking about the characteristics of a wife). The truth is this: this book is for men and women, single or married. Churches need to use this book in marriage counseling sessions. Dr. A'ndrea Wilson has an academic background in psychology, but she uses the Bible to counteract the ways and mentalities of the world when it comes to marriage/relationships. Wife 101 is the story of Amber Ross as she's trying to find the love of her life so she could be married. I don't want to give too much detail of the story plot, but I'll say this: this book will cause you to nod your head in agreement, and feel every emotion you could possibly feel. And I'll be honest, near the end, I was crying because some of the scenes moved me to the core. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. I look forward to reading her sequel Husband 101. Great job Dr. Wilson.

This is a great read for all women. I found it to be enlightening, inspiring, and humbling! I can relate to a lot of the things that Amber was thinking regarding the men in her world. I'm glad she came to her senses before it was to late. This was my first read by A'ndrea Wilson and it won't be my last.

I absolutely LOVED this book from beginning to end! I learned through Amber Ross's experiences. Who knew one chapter in the bible could tell you and teach you so much about being a WOMAN. In Wife 101 we read about Amber Ross, a very successful business woman. She ends up taking a workshop in her church (wife 101) after a suffering a heartbreak from her beau Chris. She begins realizing some changes that she needs to make within herself during this 12 week course. In the midst of it, she begins dating 2 new men and the confusion just continues. You get to witness Amber make mistakes, grow, learn, cry, and even yell. Reading this book but me in a better frame of mind and helped me realize some things that need changing in my own life. I would recommend this book 20 times over. If there is a Husband 101 out there, I know a few men that can benefit from it. A'ndrea will change many lives with this novel. I thank her so much for emailing me and asking if my book club (Exquisite Ladies Book Club) would read it. This is our 1st selection for 2012 and what better way to start the year then learning to become Virtous Women? After reading Wife 101, I am looking into other novels by A'ndra Wilson. If you haven't read this book then what are you waiting for? Get a copy for yourself and a friend.

This book touched on many elements that I have been experiencing in my personal life, providing great clarity and insight. I bought this book months ago after getting to know a Bit about the Author in a group on Facebook. I always try to support authors as best i can and The title just spoke volumes to my spirit. Finally taking the time to read it, I am upset that it has taken me So long to do so. Whenever I wanted to put the book down, I found myself drawn to it. The main character Amber Ross was a summary of who I was in different stages of my life. With Proverbs being one of my favorite books in the bible it was easy for me to appreciate the story line that went along, and the great message portrayed in the end. Wife 101 is a book that all women and girls, should read. I will definitely be recommending the book to each and every woman I know whether married or single. The world would be a better place with more virtuous women in it. This book inspires me to work on being a better me. I have created my list and through prayer and reflecting on God's word I will get there. I look forward to reading the next book in the series Husband 101 and sharing it with my husband.

A Black Princess FairytaleAmber Ross is a successful, attractive woman and a prominent entrepreneur. But she’s lacking when it comes to finding true love. She decides to take a Wife 101 course at her church to learn new things and to gain some understanding of her mistakes with past relationships. Over the course of the next few months, Amber’s life makes many turns and awakenings which lead her to make some very important decisions that will change her life. Will Amber realize and understand the necessary changes before it’s too late? Will she eventually find true love as intended? The novel “Wife 101” by Andrea J. Wilson is a sweet and inspiring fairytale that has an extraordinary ending that gives hope to all single women. I found it to be a very easy read as well as relatable in many different ways. I like the various male characters described in this novel, displaying a positive picture and giving hope to many single women such as myself. I dislike, however, the ending to this novel as it seems to be a little too unreal. Overall, I enjoyed reading “Wife 101” and will continue to read more of Andrea’s novels in the future. Wife 101, couldn't have crossed my path at a better time. I have read the basis of this novel many times, Proverbs 31 is a verse many women have read. And I just like many other women have never taken a deeper look in it. In Wife 101, A'ndrea Wilson really broke down the each verse and applied it to real life situations that anyone could easily relate to. The main character Amber, greets turmoil in her life. After her former boyfriend re-appears and announces his engagement, Amber is forced to look into her life. It is said that God sends what you need at the moment you need it most. Amber sought solace in church and enrolled in the Wife 101 class. As a young single woman, fiercely independent and successful, she believed she couldn't understand why she couldn't keep a man nor had one propose. While attending the class she took a deeper look at herself, and before long her circumstances changed dramatically. Although this was a fictional novel, the non-fictional undertones makes this a book to be re-read and studied. I highly recommend any single or married woman to read this book and the accompanying workbook.

‘Who can find this virtuous woman…’Amber Ross is living the ultimate life, she owns 3 businesses, drives a luxury vehicle, has a beautiful home…yet she’s single. Her boyfriend dumps her and the blow to her ego is devastating, especially when he criticizes her independence and confident attitude. Humbling herself, she discreetly enrolls in a class called Wife 101 to find out if she actually possesses any flaws that’s causing her to be without a mate. Wife 101 is a thought provoking, spiritually challenging read centered on Proverbs 31, but also delving into other verses in the Book of Proverbs. The author’s platform is the modern, independent, self-sufficient woman that yearns for a husband, house and 2.5 children to complete her life. Ms. Wilson breaks down the scriptures while narrating in laymen terms. A pleasant and refreshing read that will cause you to cross examine your thoughts, actions and your walk as wife material as well as a woman of GOD. Mind you, who can find a virtuous woman…great job Ms. Wilson!

Title: Wife 101Author: A’ndrea WilsonRating: 5Headline: Take Notes! In Wife 101, A’ndrea Wilson introduces us to Amber Ross, a young lady that has excelled in her professional life but has bad luck when it comes to love and relationships. After a painful breakup she decides to take the Wife 101 class at her church which is a Bible study through Proverbs 31. As the weeks progress, Amber begins to juggle two relationships and she becomes confused on if she should continue with the class or try to lean on her own understanding.A’ndrea Wilson has accomplished what many Christian authors fail at – she writes a Christian fiction story which is completely realistic and relatable. Wilson keeps an equal mix of fiction and Biblical references without one overshadowing the other. Dr. A'ndrea Wilson has gone completely outside of the box as she merges fiction and nonfiction material collectively to present to women a tool for becoming a better woman. Wife 101 is not your oridinary book. It is both self-motivational and entertaining. Wilson has you rooting for characters, and taking sides all while learning more about yourself as a woman. For men who read this, you may find yourself constantly using this work as a bar to uphold your ideal woman to. Wilson is unique as she heads her chapters with lesssons being brought directly from the Word of God then proceeding to disect the Word meticulously through her characters. Wife 101 should be thought of as a mirror in which all women should see their reflection, if it is blurred or other wise distorted, use Wife 101 to regain your focus.Thank you A'ndrea Wilson for allowing God to use you to bring forth such a wonderful motivational and inspiring tool.

Just like many of us, Amber is fooled into believing that her socioeconomic stausand business-minded atitiude makes her an excellent romantic catch. She does ealize until taking this class that in all her striving that she has neglected other areas of her life. Oh, my word, the Proverbs 31 woman is a bad mama jamma. I found myself grabbing a pen for a pearl of wisdom which is a perk for a book so entertaining. I appreciate an author so studied but has a fineese not to be preachy. I defintely can't wait for the sequel, Husband 101.

A'ndrea Wilson has crafted a delightfully, heart-warming novel about virtuousity and using your faith to accomplish this mission. Amber Ross is a successful business woman and enteprenuer who is financially sound and secure; but, after a failed attempt at a succesful relationship, she realizes that her personal life is not at the standard of her professional life. She joins a ministry group for women that leads to a path of forgiveness, self-discovery, and fulfillment. Wife 101 is a book that will help you to understand sacrifices and consequences of our daily living. This book, although a novel, can be used as a guide to explore the qualities of a virtuous woman and what makes her life so special that it touches everyone who comes across her path.

Amber Ross is like many a successful women that chase career instead of commitment. When her independent mindset is challenged, she begins to truly look at herself to see if her life aligns with the biblical teaching of the Proverbs 31 woman. Throughout the chapters she reflects on her life, the people in it, and her place through it all. There are various twists and turns and times when you want to shout out and tell Amber, “No! Don’t do it!” Littered with humor, the lessons are very satisfying. The end is very satisfying, though you wonder if she was selfish in her final declaration. Ultimately, you want to travel with her as she continues into life, hoping she doesn’t make the same mistakes twice. I would recommend this book to anyone seeking an entertaining Christian novel.

A'ndrea J. Wilson's Wife 101 was awesome! I am so thankful that this book was recommended for me to read. I am officially a Proverbs 31 woman in training! What a mind-blowing revelation! What I thought I knew about this powerful scripture, I didn't. However, what I did know was confirmed as well. I'm not too far off the mark. I won't give away any spoilers, but after reading this, I can rejoice in knowing that women play a significant role in God's kingdom. We are loved! We are valued! We are needed! We are servants in ministry!

I *loved* this book. It is a Christian romantic comedy that works chapter 31 of Proverbs into the story. As the main character learns the principles of what makes a virtuous woman from Proverbs 31, I learned also. It was more insightful to read as a the character learns from her mentor than I would have gained by reading it myself. And, let's face it: it is more enjoyable to read a novel than scriptures. :) The romance in the story is fairly predictable, but is enjoyable nonetheless. I really enjoyed this book!

Ok. So i was hearing a lot of good things about this book and seeing this book mentioned a few times, so I decided let me try this book out and see what its about. Im very happy that I did take the chance to click this book and read it. Typically this isnt a genre I would normally read unless a trustworthy person suggested it but again Im really happy I took this chance. Wife 101 deals with so many issues that females can deal with. I personally found myself walking with the character as she went throug her journey of finding out about herself. As she was learning things I feel I was also learning things that I did not know. I think this is a great book for women who are married or single. Amber Ross is a typical independent woman, she has everything she could need because she works hard to make sure she will never be in a position that she cant take care of herself. The one thing she wants, which is a relationship is the one thing that she does not seem to have control over. Having dealt with various kinds of men who may or may not be on her level or a level she wants them to be, Amber experiences break ups, heart breaks and so much more. In her mind shes a good woman and she just cant seem to understand that famous saying of why she is always a bridesmaid and never a bride. Enrolling in a class that her church is teaching called Wife 101 she begins to learn many things about what the virtous woman is and how she handles herself in a relationship. This book is more than just learning about and understanding a verse in the Bible. Its about understanding and getting to know how to deal with certain things when it comes to relationships of course everyone is not going to agree but after seeing how Andrea's life was and then how she applied what she learnt in the class to her life would make anyone think. Some subjects in the story will hit close to home, I know some parts hit close to home for me and I was like wow! It makes you look at your life and want to fix some things, maybe how you speak to people, or treat people. I recommend this book I think females should read it, It is NOT a self help book it is a work of fiction, but you will pick up some tips along the way!

He Who Finds A Wife Finds What Is Good And Receives Favor From the Lord. (Proverbs 18:22)Word of mouth is a powerful tool. I heard a few people whom I respect and trust their thoughts have recommended this book. So I decided to make this one of my books to read for a reading and reviewing challenge that I am a part of. After reading some mediocre book I needed a book to knock the socks of me. This did not let me down. I was amazed at how much I saw myself in the main character. I don’t think I have ever bonded with a book like I have this one. This book is for all women, married or single Amber is the new liberated woman; smart, pretty and independent to a fault. She is about her business, can’t tell her nothing. Amber makes her own money, sets her own rules and answers to no one. When her ex-boyfriend, Chris, calls her to invite her dinner, you can’t tell her that he is not missing her. Boy is she mistaken as he tells her he is getting married. Well this sends her to wonder what is wrong with her and if she is going to be an old single hag forever. While at church she comes across a class called wife 101 thinking she will take the class, what can it hurt right? With the lessons focusing on Proverbs 31 she learns more than she bargains for and so did I. While this is Christian fiction it is not preachy at all. I love the spiritual undertone and it was not over the top knock you on your head type of religion. The points were made and in a fictional way that everyone can relate to. I brought the handbook to learn some new things about myself as I stated I am Amber. I know that the saying is “if you reach one person you have done your job” well Ms. Wilson take a bow, you have for filled your job. I will be continuing on with this series to Husband 101 as I have been told by the author this is for everyone male or female. SiStar TeaARC Book Club Inc.5 star rating

Amber Ross is a woman no different than any other woman today. She is very independent; however it's to a fault. Because of her extreme independence it has caused her to be unlucky in love. She decides to take a Wife 101 course at her church in order to gain a better understanding of how to become a virtuous woman. In taking this class she learns more about herself and is able to learn what it is meant to be in a relationship and find love. This was a very good read and different than other Christian fiction books I have read. Even though there were scriptures used throughout the book and the focus was on the bible, the story did not come across as preachy. This was a good fictional tale that also taught me something in the process. I am looking forward to continuing with this series

I highly recommend this book to any woman, whether in the Christian faith or not! This book discusses Proverbs 31 in such an interesting and profound way! Trust me, if you read this book, you will be able to see yourself in these pages, regardless of race, nationality, whatever! You will be incredibly blessed if you read it! I checked it out at my local library, but now I am making it my business to purchase the entire series!!! It's a blessing, and it's phenomenal!
