I'll start off by saying I'm not a paranormal romance fan but I am a fan of author Siobhan Muir so I gave Her Devoted Vampire a shot. I'm happy I did! Muir captures the reader's complete attention during first few pages when we're introduced to Frederick. The author's ability to describe a scene and character had me closing my eyes and actually smelling this sexy vampire. Oh yes, in case you're wondering, he smells great. I felt Bridget and Fredrick's connection almost instantly from the first scene in the coffee shop. I loved Bridget's slow realization of Fredrick's world. In the process, Bridget she learns about her own lineage. I also enjoyed Her Devoted Vampire's secondary characters, especially Cynthia. Muir's attention to detail is rare and I can't wait to read more from this talented author.

I have to say my favorite part of this was the timing of when they consummated their relationship. It was a good time, and an unusual choice in these days of sex every few pages. Bravo to the author for doing that. That said, my issue mainly comes from, even though the book is (for me) too short, the fact that their relationship developed so quickly. It went from "he's crazy" to "he's my soul mate" essentially in about 2 days. If that. I'll definitely read her next release, but this just didn't...do it for me, overall. I liked it, but wasn't in love with it.

This review was originally posted on Delighted ReaderI met Siobhan at Authors After Dark and you guys...this woman is the bomb. She is energetic, funny, sarcastic and sexy all wrapped up in one author. Right away I knew I had to read one of her books. So I went out and grabbed Her Devoted Vampire on a whim one day. Unfortunately, I was confused for most of the book.Fredrick Macgregor is a vampire who also has visions. Lately he has had visions about one particular woman and now he feels she is in danger. He speeds out a long distance to be near her when she is attacked and then whisks her back to his home thinking he is protecting her, but he doesn't know why.Bridget Shanahan's not exactly having the time of her life.  Her love life is dismal, her job a joke. All she wants to do is read her trashy romance novel, drink coffee and be left alone. But when she sees Fredrick enter the coffee shop, she as well as others really notice him. In disgust she decides to leave only to be attacked and have Fredrick save her.Dangerously wounded, Fredrick takes Bridget to his home where we meet a group of characters that include werewolves as security for Fredrick.  When Bridget heals quickly and tries to escape, Fredrick brings her back knowing she is key to the mystery. But Bridget doesn't take things sitting down. She doesn't believe a word coming out of Fredrick's mouth and at one point Fredrick actually hurts her, which irritates me.They quickly find out the mystery, the bad guy and that they were made for each other by the Avatar of the Goddess. Unfortunately, I had more questions than answers as I felt it needed further story development.  There is also some "dreams" Bridget has that I didn't really understand. While the two do have sex, it isn't graphic but also doesn't shy away from using the naughty words we love.  It just didn't evoke that this was an once in a lifetime love.So while I was looking forward to reading this book, it just didn't hit home with me the way I was hoping. I hope to read Siobhan again in the future where I also hope to learn more about this world she has created. This review was originally posted on Delighted Reader

I'm not very good at judging the length of an ebook until I'm nearly finished. This is more of a novella than a full-novel, so the story line isn't terribly complex. It's still good though and the story resolution left me satisfied. I like it when the heroine (or hero, depending on the circumstances) lives in the same world I do. A world where vampires and werewolves and such are just stories and she has to be convinced of their reality. The belief didn't come easily for the heroine, which is as it should be (IMO.) I'm not sure if Ms. Muir plans a longer story for these two, but I can easily envision one.

Frederick is a vampire and a psychic His visions have told him that Bridget is in grave danger and needs his protection. Trouble is, Bridget doesn’t believe in vampires or werewolves or any of the other things that go bump in the night and she’s not about to let him protect her. The action and description of Her Devoted Vampire so put me in the scene, at times I forgot I was reading book. It was more like I was watching a movie. I found the hero to be unique and the heroine to be spunky. A great vampire read.

Paranormal romance is my favorite genre. I love it. This book has werewolves, vampires and Goddesses. It was very interesting that the heroine didn't realize she wasn't full human until the hero stepped into her life. This was a new storyline for me and it definitely worked. I kept waiting for the hot steamy sex and when it got there yummy! I can't wait to read more from this author.

Bridget didn't think anything could possibly change the mundane existence she had been living, but boy was she wrong! A night out for coffee and distraction with a romance novel was the beginning recipe to a night that will change her life forever. Add to that an extremely lust-worthy vampire and Bridget just crossed the line into her new normal. Living vicariously through a romance novel has definitely lost it's appeal. Fredrick is the ultimate ladies man. The incredible looks aside, his masculinity and impeccable manners and speech give him an edge that every woman can't help but notice. However, Fredrick is on a mission to save a woman he's never met and fulfill a destiny that was set in motion many years ago in his young life. Now if only he can convince her that he's not the kidnapping psychopath she believes he is. Who wouldn't want to be kidnapped by a vampire who's devoted to your protection? In this fast paced story, you'll meet a woman who admirably fights against it while resisting the desire to submit. Sexually frustrating, but with amazing erotic fulfillment I was a bit disappointed that the story wasn't more fleshed out. The storyline has great potential to explore this world of Goddess's, shapeshifters, and vampires. I am hoping that there will be a sequel for this couple since it seems there is more to Bridget that is left undeveloped as she discovers what she really is. An interesting read for fans of paranormal romance.Review soon-to-be posted @ Night Owl Reviews

What if you didn’t believe in vampires, werewolves or goddesses yet were thrown into their world? Bridget Shanahan was enjoying a cup of coffee one day innocently when she bumps into a handsome man. The man saves her life when she is attacked but she is stabbed. Miraculously her wound heals itself. However, no one knows who or what she is.Fredrick MacGregor is a vampire who has been having visions of a woman for a while. He feels that danger is out for her and he has sworn to protect her. But as he protects her, he is falling in love with her. Fredrick has his own secrets and begins to understand just how important Bridget is in his life. Her Devoted Vampire is a wonderfully exciting read as we learn just who Bridget is and who is really out to kill her. Bridget is a strong woman who is not afraid to fight for what she believes in… and in this case, she thinks that Fredrick is crazy and keeping her against her will. Fredrick just doesn’t understand where the threat is coming from. Her Devoted Vampire is very different than many of the vampire stories out there. Vampires and werewolves are working together. They are still in hiding from the public but have become business owners in the world. Sibhan Muir leaves some extra mysteries that remain unanswered. I look forward to seeing if she answers them in another story with the characters from Her Devoted Vampire.

Great story with lots of twistsA woman meets a charasmatic man, or so she thinks, in a coffee shop. He follows her out of the coffee shop, which of-course is a little disconcerting. But he protects her in a time of need. Then her protector turns somewhat scary. She finds herself in one precarious circumstance after another. But nothing is as it seems. This story was full of surprises, action, lots of paranormal persons, and a surprising romantic development. Good story.
