Having already read another book by this author, 'Neanderthal Swan Song', I was eager to read this one since I had enjoyed the first one. I was not disappointed.Reading the other book is not required to understand this one, but there are a few nods to aforesaid book that readers of that book will catch. I enjoyed the storyline, it was well-written and believable. There were a few parts of the book that left me eager to find out what would happen next.I wish this book had been just a bit thicker, with some more tidbits of information on the two alien races introduced in here. Also perhaps a couple of scenes set on Earth, so that we get an idea of what it is like back home at that time. One thing I noticed was that we do not get a really complete idea of what the Thrace look like until closer to the end, but I think this may have been intentional. There is much unsaid in this book (not in a bad way) and I would definitely be up to reading another book set in this universe if the author decides to write any more.
