Supercharged Food: Eat Your Way to Good Health Reviews
I love this book. I have been on a journey to eating clean and eliminating wheat and limiting dairy. I love food and I refuse to give up taste for healthy versions of dishes. It sounds great, but when it comes down to actually cooking and putting things together, that's when things get tricky. Figuring out substitutes, and reinventing recipes is time consuming and hard. It is full of trial and errors, and can be quite discouraging at times. Having a number of healthy recipes already set out for you is great! She uses the ingridients that you already have in your pantry. Nothing too fancy that you have to order online. Yes, there are a few extra ingridients that regular folk may not have, but if you are already on a path to healthy eating you have either heard of them or you already have them - coconut oil, cocnut milk, almond meal, etc. Definitely would recomend it to anyone who is looking to eat healthier wholesome meals without giving up the delicious taste!
'Supercharged Food' is a simple and inspiring guide to eating for optimum health. It features more than 90 recipes that are gluten, wheat, dairy, yeast and sugar-free, each bursting with nutrient-rich or 'super' foods that will help nourish and heal your body.As someone who recently had to adopt to a gluten and dairy free dietary change, this book is so resourceful for learning about what is good for you and what some great alternatives are for truly healthier eating. The recipes are delicious and nutritious, and the meal planning is an absolute godsend when it comes to weekly fresh food shopping. While the author wrote this book specifically due to her own health restrictions, it's something that I recommend to anyone with similar restrictive dietary needs or simply those wanting to eat healthy.
Jus read this over the weekend. I thought it was a good book for basic framwork on understanding foods and their nutrition besides the basic vitamin A and C values. This book is not what you are looking for if you are seeking out the scientific approach to nutrition and the healing of the body. It is very basic in that regard. It does have some receipes which are nice but Ipersonally feel like I would probably modify each and very one of them with what I have learned from other more indepth books about furit/veggie nutrition. It is however on sale and Barnes and Noble for $7
This is a great book when you're looking for recipes for gluten, sugar, and dairy free foods. There's quite a bit of insight in it, as well! My only trouble to mention is that Lee does substitute those ingredients with a LOT of nuts and seeds, and that can be difficult on the digestive system, as well. But all around, a great cookbook and I can't say enough about how delicious her recipes are! She's truly gifted.
A good starter book for someone looking to get into cleaner or healthy eating. I enjoy some of the recipes. They are quick and easy with minimal ingredients. I purchased on sale at B&N for the recipes and photos but the author does give some overview on foods to reach for and foods to avoid.
this is a really nice book about super foods and the recipes are simple and all look good. it's gluten, wheat, dairy, yeast and sugar free, but i'm vegan so it's not quite right for me as it has quite a few meat dishes and lots with eggs in too. There's lots of things i'd like to try in here.
Meryl 2013 lots of clean simple recipes
