And it is true that there is a long and ugly history of abuse of African-Americans at the hands of Anglo Christians. Black Man's Religion is one of the first of its kind, a pro-Christian reading of religion and history from a black perspective. Fascinating and compelling, it is must reading for all concerned for African-American culture and issues of faith....

Really good book about the history of African-American Christianity and the roots of early African Christianity. This book does a great job of rebutting the notion that Christianity is a "White Man's Religion." It's packed with factual, historical information to show readers that Christianity was adopted by many African shortly after it's inception.
