Marcella looked up at the cone-shaped summit of Vesuvius and felt the tremors for the second time that morning. Every once in a while I come across a Black Lace novel of which the quality of the story is slightly better than expected, and this is always a nice surprise. A Volcanic Affair was one of those 'every once in a while' books :-)To be fair, the Black Lace novels I've come across are mostly well-written style-wise, and are usually amusing too, but nevertheless it is always a pleasant surprise to come across one of which the story is just above average.I know the reason most readers will pick up a Black Lace novel is not the quality of the writing, or the quality of the story, but still, a good story manages to give a book just this little bit extra ;-)
