3 1/2 Dreams Do Come True Stars!! Loved this steamy plump girl short. The title of this book is perfect, made so much sense after I read it. I wish it had been longer, I would have loved to have spent more time with Jake and Maggie. What a delightful couple. Lots of chemistry between these two, and as short as this was, it was heartfelt and sincere...oh and did I mention steamy...yeah steamy too! Left me smiling...and fanning myself!

As women we always see ourselves differently then men that love us see us. Even just the average man on the street. Being a BBW most of my life I never was made fun of as an adult it all came from childhood. As I came into my teens I was little more average but more voluptuous let's say for my age. Then as I got older mid twenties hair & make-up & learning to carry myself well. Was my trick to hid my insecurities. So, Maggie not believing that Jake her friend who was six feet tall, handsome, & sexy would be into her, I could believe. Cuz, any woman ten pounds over weight & they are telling the truth would feel the exact same way as the one 100+ lbs. over. This was well written. Carried a lot of thoughts of a BBW. The love story itself was just so heart warming the way Jake planned it all was just so endearing. It was that more believable when Jake became insecure when he thought she did't want to be seen with him.

This book is awesome. It's a very quick read but for me its very realistic. The fact that the main female lead is on the larger side and suffers from insecurities with her weight just made the book that much more special. “She hadn’t had a date in three years and didn’t try to do anything about her lonely state. It was safer to avoid intimacy than to end up hurt and still alone. Better to just stay a lonely spinster chocolatier than to end up lonely with a broken heart.”She loves chocolate... who doesn't? I know I'm a sucker for it!! Parts made me laugh out loud.“She limited her intake and she still gained five pounds just from the smell. It isn’t fair! If I was born to be a pastry chef and chocolatier I should have the metabolism to match my occupation!”It makes you believe that there is always that special someone out there that will accept you know matter what! No matter your size. Luke is super sweet and know what he want's. It's just a shame that the one he wants doesn't think he's serious.“It didn’t seem to matter that she turned him down flat. He kept going back like a lovesick puppy. The woman was pure hell on a man’s ego.”He must get her attention one way or another. He makes you swoon a little, well he did me!“She felt like Cinderella-an ordinary girl who had captured the attention of the unattainable prince.”He makes you believe and trust him."She still couldn’t believe that Jake found her voluptuous limbs and abundant curves attractive… but he obviously did. And it gave her a freedom she had never known."He can heal your heart. Beautiful read with real life issues!!

Big Girl Erotic Romance At Its BestJ.S. Scott drew me in with this fun, steamy and quick read. I was pleasantly surprised at how I connected with both characters and the author’s voice as I read. As a work at home Mom, romance reader, and curvy girl myself, I thoroughly enjoyed being able to escape into Maggie and Jack’s world for a while. I love how the author portrayed Maggie throughout the story, giving her just enough insecurity to need Jake without making her seem like a desperate or needy charity case (as many people would presume because of their lifestyle differences.) I usually like stronger heroines, but could sympathize with Maggie because she didn't come off as whiny or weak. She only needed that one extra affirmation from Jake to take the plunge into this hot whirl-wind romance with him.Jake was terrific, too. I enjoy difficult alpha males in longer novels, but for this short story his character had just enough alpha to make me love him and didn't leave any loose strings about hidden issues. He comes off as a nice and sincere guy, not just out for a quick hook up. His passion, tenderness, and sincerity for wanting Maggie just as she is was very touching and admirable because he's longed for her for so long and finally goes through with a clever plan to catch her attention and get her to himself. Maggie and Jake are an unlikely couple with opposite lifestyles but the heat when they get together is off the charts. Well written, tender, and hot - I have to give major kudos to author Scott for her remarkable talent in measuring and combining the perfect ingredients when writing The Curveball to make me crave more of this delicious series! Must read!

I just finished The Curve Ball and I really liked it. Maggie is a plus sized girl with a whole lot of self conscious issues but who really doesn't? What happens in this story is that Lisa her friend needs favor. She needs Maggie to attend the singles charity ball. Maggie doesn't want to do it but loves her friend and will ends up going. Before she gets ready what you find out is that Jake Rawlins has been coming into her store for over a year, and she has had a crush on him that seems like forever but what would a guy like him, tall dark and handsome, want in a plus sized girl like her. You would be surprised. He has wanted her just as long but desperate times causes desperate measures. How will he convince Maggie that he really wants to be with her? You will have to read and see...I really liked the story, it is very fast but very sexy. Who wouldnt want Jake. He is sexy, sweet and wants a thicker girl...I DO!!!! I really like Maggie. Like all girls, has insecurities and doesnt think that she is that special. She is exactly what he needs. Lordy, them two together, even though the story was short, burned the sheets. YUMMY~!I think I have found a new author :)Story 5Sex 5Overall 5Reviewed by Beggin from Mommys a Book Whore

Maggie never dated, Lisa her best friend needed help and Maggie was it. As soon as Maggie seen Lisa she knew she wouldn't like what she had to say but ended up helping her anyways. Jake the town hunk was always in Maggie's bakery, it was her one and only passion to bake fancy pastries, her bakery used to belong to her mother before she passed away. Maggie and Jake would often chat, he would always asked her out on a date but she constantly said "no" and laughed as if it was a joke, he was not joking, he had the hots for Maggie big time. She would constantly lust after Jake, thinking a man like that would never be interested in her. They ended up at the charity ball together and Jake had to tell Maggie how he felt, she was always putting herself down. This is a great short story with wonderful characters and the hottest sex scene leaving you wanting more.

This is another GREAT short read from JS Scott! I love that even tho this is a short story, she draws you right in and you either relate to the character (Maggie) or want a character like that in your life (Jake - sigh). I love the effort Jake went to in order to get to Maggie and I reaaaally love that Jake wasn't so full of himself to automatically assume that Maggie would want him because he's so damn hot and she's a bigger woman. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest of this series.

I enjoy these erotic short stories for what they are, a fantasy that there is a hot man out there that is a combination of sensitive, sexy, Alpha, and totally in love and in lust with a BBW woman and he's just waiting to sweep her off her feet.I enjoy this author's work, her writing style reminds me of Christa Wick (another BBW series I adore). If you crave a fantasy featuing BBW and Hot Men... these short stories are for you, and I think they are worth every penny.

I'm a curvy girl so it was nice to finally read about someone more like myself. Don't get me wrong, I love reading about the beautiful women that are perfect but this was nothing like that. I loved everything about this short story and all I want to know is who wouldn't love a man to treat you the way that Jake treated Maggie? The things he did just to try to date her are wonderful.

I have read many of J.S. Scott's books. The Billionaire series and The Vampire Coalition have me hooked! I am a big fan and I purchased this book because I was needing more of her stories and I was so happy I did. It was really nice to read about the lady in the romance and she was not the usual stunning available woman. She is vulnerable and insecure. Wonderful love story, dreams do come true!

There is just to enough to be said for a WELL WRITTEN BBW book. Not all can make that claim, but this one can. Not only were the characters believable the story was as well. it left me squirming in my seat. Loved It!

CUTE AND ROMANTICShort romantic story about a curvy girl who has issues about her size. Jake Rawlins a frequent customer to Maggie's cake shop has asked Maggie out many times but she just thinks he's joking. He needs to find a way to persuade her he wants to be with her.A really quick read that's cute and romantic. Well written with likeable characters.

This was a fun short read, I enjoyed the main character Jake very much but ended up giving it 4 stars because I didn't really like Maggie. Maggie is a successful businesswoman who is plus size and believe me I have nothing against plus size women but I like my female leads to be a little more confident. Yes we all have weak moments and our own insecurities but after numerous attempts and signs by Jake; Maggie still only doubts her self worth. I believe no one can love you unless you love yourself and Maggie definitely needs some work. Luckily Jake is more than willing to help if she'll let him.

Was that a typo in the first line of the story? "Pasty" instead of "pastry?" Guess Maggie could have been a Brit, but I don't think so. I kind of wish the typo had been "pastie." Now that would be one seriously specialized shop.Anyway, onto the story. Poor Maggie is so insecure about her looks that she fails to recognize her hunky neighborhood contractor wants to taste her ample wares in more ways than one. He's not exactly subtle in his flirtations, but even after an entire year of his manly attentions, Maggie somehow never clues in to his sincerity.Maggie was so dense, in fact, that I wondered how far Jake might have to go to make her understand his intentions. I got an image of him bending her over the display counter, taking her like a mad man (which, after a year of restraint, I think he probably would be). He'd warn her, all breathless and sexy, "I'm going to make you come now, Baby." And Maggie, ever unawares, would reach back, playfully swat his arm and dither, "Oh, you! You're such a silly jokester!"I kid. I enjoyed this sweet little story for what it was -- a sweet little story. Good job.

I love J.S. Scott's books, all of them that I have read so far. I especially love the characters in this short story, not to mention the fact that these Curve novels are about full figured women. Jake has been in love with Maggie for over a year, and no matter how much he flirts or asks her out she politely turns him down. Maggie is over ridden with insecurities about her weight and not feeling good enough for anyone least of all Jake Rawlins.Maggie's bff Lisa talks her into attending a charity ball for singles where she is paired with another person who has the same number as she does. Maggie is none to happy over this but goes as a favor for Lisa only to find that she is paired with none other than Jake Rawlins. This is definitely a must read if, especially if you like short stories.
