I actually picked up When First They Met after reading The Inn At Rose Harbor, the first book in a new series set in Cedar Cove. This short ebook story shares how Jo Marie and Paul of the striking blue eyes first meet at a football game, their mutual attraction and Paul's Thanksgiving marriage proposal. It also includes the first chapter of The Inn At Rose Harbor and a yummy recipe for the biscotti Jo Marie serves to guests at Rose Harbor Inn. Not much to this one but still a sweet treat.

Silly, rushed and so short that if I wrote another word my review will be longer than it.

Love and romance can happen anywhere, but Jo Marie never expects to discover it at a Seattle Seahawks’ game. When she meets Paul, it’s love at first sight as they get to know each other and continue getting to know each other once they leave the stadium. However, Jo Marie isn’t ready to give her heart completely to Paul. He’s in the military and will be shipping out soon. She’s not sure a long distance relationship can survive. This is a short story which introduces characters in Debbie Macomber’s new series, “Rose Harbor”. I’ve been wanting to read this series for a long time since I loved her Cedar Cove series and this one features characters from that series as well. It’s not a continuation of the series, readers just get to catch a glimpse of old friends. This is a sweet romance that can be read quickly. It’s enjoyable, although I’m ready for more and a longer story. I can see this is going to be an addicting series.

It amazes me how Debbie Macomber can write something that makes the characters so real. This is a very short eBook eShort and really I think it should have been free to give a taste (like I had with Gentleman of Her Dreams) but in borrowing it from the Overdrive Library as an eBook it was definitely worth the wait. I read it split between falling asleep last night and finished it in a short span this afternoon. It is like a letter describing how Jo Marie met her Paul and it's just heart squeezing. Especially for me, as I already know what happens next in having read (and really enjoyed) The Inn at Rose Harbor . I am eager to read the next book in the Rose Harbor series this fall.

I find it very dificult to rate prequels and short stories because there just never seems to be enough detail. I am giving this one a 4 star rating because of uniqueness. This was such a quaint story of how Jo Marie and Paul met and fell in love. I am anxious to get on with the story. I love the football connection and Paul's connection to the Military (as it hits close to home) together with Paul's love and immediate connection with Jo's family. What made it even a bit better was that it wasn't all roses and there was a little bit of seriousness in it.

Very short story on how Jo Marie and Paul met. Very sweet. I would've liked it to be longer, but I'm thinking that some of the questions and wonders I have errol be answered in The Inn at Rose Harbor. Can't wait tio get my hands on it.

No depth, no substance, no real descriptions of the characters. All seemed very rushed. Not impressed.

I love Debbie Macomber's writing. I think I may have enjoyed this novella more if I had read it before any of the Rose Harbor books. It is still a sweet story or how Jo Marie first met Paul. I guess it adds a little new information, but not much.

Wow, finished that one in a blink of an eye. This was only 27 pages and for those Macomber fans who really love her books. A very short story about how the main character of Inn at Rose Harbor met her husband, a quick read, didn't realize it was so short.

Great short storyI love Debbie Macomber's books. This was no exception. This book was too short. It's so well written that I was able to fall in love with the characters quickly. I wanted to keep being a part of their lives. I would recommend this book.

Extremely short, but was completely what was expected. It gave enough history to entice me into reading the series. The second book not part of the series that had sample pages, I was not interested in. That's the reason for 4 stars.

Destiny Fulfilled Paul and Jonas Marie are both picky when it came to relationships. I look forward to seeing how theirs develop in the next entry of The Rose Harbor Series. I found the characters interesting enough I want to learn more about them.

Short but sweetI liked that the couple were older and were so obviously well suited, but the story was so short there wasn't any depth to it, or the couple. A real shame

This was a short story that Debbie Macomber wrote as a prequel to the Rose Harbor series. It can't go wrong when it pulls together the Puget Sound and the Seahawks.

Hmm..I am not sure how I feel about this book, I actually fell in love with both Jo and Paul. For both of them it is love at first sight, they have this instant chemistry just with their eyes connecting with one another.I love how confident Paul is, he isn't afraid to go after what he wants. He is kind, compassionate, caring and funny. It is actually quite surprising how alike Jo and Paul are. Jo never believed she would fall in love, let alone marry but that all changes when she meets Paul. I really loved learning them learning about each other and before you know one thing leads to another. Unfortunately for Jo, Paul is in the military which limits how much time they can spend with each other but their love for each other never wavers. It was the ending that did it for me although it is a happy one, when I turned the page and saw the synopsis for the next book it broke my heart. After throughly enjoying this short book, I was devastated to find out what happens to Paul. I was originally going to continue with reading this series but now I am not so sure. I really loved Paul.Blog | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | G+ | Pinterest

This one is a short story but draws you in so quickly, you feel like you have been reading about these characters for ages. I absolutely love the setting, the characters and the story line. Forewarning only read the exerpt from the next book if you are prepared to read that one immediately and go on the emotional roller coaster right away!

An original short story available exclusively as an eBook, Macomber shares a sneak peek into her new series set in Cedar Cove, which features Jo Marie, before she becomes the owner of the beloved Rose Harbor Inn. (read this prior to the Rose Harbor Inn) - great to learn of the couple's past, prior to his death. From the moment Jo Marie sits next to Paul inside the Seattle Seahawks’ stadium, she feels a spark. Paul’s striking blue eyes and kind smile tell her that he’s someone special—different from any man she’s met before. When they strike up a conversation, Jo Marie and Paul realize how much they have in common, yet there’s one thing keeping them from a fairy-tale ending: Paul is in the military and will ship out of Seattle within the next six weeks. Jo Marie and her husband meet at a baseball game. After many hours of getting to know each other, each figure out they have a lot in common. She works in a bank and he's in the military. She invites Paul to her family's Thanksgiving where he is bombarded by the many siblings and cousins in her family. They soon are wed and military orders send him off to Afghanistan. Unfortunately, Paul is killed in the war within their first year of marriage.Though her friends qnd family have advised her to wait a year before making long term decisions, she notices in the paper that a bed and breakfast is for sale.Macomber has written a short story that is the prequel for The Inn at Rose Harbor. Her other series have been so wonderful. I can't wait to begin this one.
