Ever read one of those books where the world is so neat and the characters so fun that you just want to hang out there with them?If not, I suggest you give this one a try so you know what I'm talking about. The book is more novella and, after putting down 'serious school' books it was just good times all around to hang out with these unique characters in this well-crafted world. A world where people act like human beings in dangerous and extreme situations. So often I find when scanning sci-fi and fantasy pulp that the charcters are little more than cardboard cut-outs or, especially in the case of women, window-dressing non-actors. To have a woman drawn to act on her own strengths and weaknesses was a pleasant and gratifying surprise. Similarly to find men who are more then glaring, grunting He-men was also pretty awesome. Yes, the main character is super-powered, no this does not make him emotionally absent -- just understandibly neurotic. All in all, it was a great way to spend 8 hours at work with text-to-speak. I almost clocked out early so I could hop in my car and finish it because I was so loathe to re-enter the real world.I look forward to this author completing a 'full-length' work, or even just releasing a series of short stories/novellas set in this world -- if only because I so desperately want to kick back in a saloon, buy these boys a drink, and just listen to them talk at me for a while.Cheers,-M-

A blind bounty hunter in a supernatural western? It shouldn't work but it totally does. This book was fun and highly enjoyable, if a little short. A very enjoyable read.
