Wow! I really, really loved this book. I read a lot of rock and roll stories because I have a weakness for them, and this was quite a different read. Mags O'Brien is on tour with Julian MacAvoy's band. She serves as Julian's right hand, managing any and every issue that comes up. Jules is an interesting man. He's funny, caring, sexy and seems to not care what anyone thinks. He also has a tendency to go into sulk mode and Mag's often seems more like his mother, as she cares for him. Mags is wonderful. A totally put together woman in a world that is touring chaos. It becomes apparent that there are more feelings between them than just boss-employee. Mags is currently married in a love-less marriage. "You appear to have them in the palm of your hand as always." "Maybe it's not just them I want in the palm of my hand." Mags fights the attraction because of her marriage. Jules took three steps toward me. "I can send her away, you just have to say the word." I knew if I did there would be no turning back. He stood in front of me - vulnerable, attractive and available. I realized we'd been dancing around this moment for month. The story is a tumultuous rollercoaster of highs and lows for these two. At times, I felt bad for Mags. The ending was quite a shock. Several big things happened subsequently which I never expected! And there is a great cast of characters who will love and hate!I cannot wait to move on to the next book! If you like sexy rock stars, this is one I highly recommend!I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Sexy and gritty, raw and engaging, Private Love in a Public Place takes you on a personal behind-the-scenes tour of a rock star’s life on the road from the perspective of his manager, a woman who loves the artist as much as she loves the man himself. But it’s a love bound for nowhere, considering she’s married—and determined to stay that way. Kenyon presents in fascinating detail the grueling, passionate, punishing, rewarding and erratic life of a superstar, and the backstage vs onstage realities that will impress, appall and stir the reader. This is a fresh, steamy and surprising love story guaranteed to entertain!

At some point or another, most people have lusted after someone they know, perhaps a co-worker, or even the boss; and Mags is no different. The trials and stresses of being on tour, have stretched her marriage to breaking point. Her husband has become more of an annoying friend than lover, and her annoyingly charming boss is getting her hotter by the day.Toni Kenyon has written a really great story around a life we usually only hear about through trashy magazine articles using mysterious sources and telescopic photo lenses. But instead of just your typical hype, the author has brought to life the real story behind the scenes; she has made her celebrities human, fallible, and extremely likeable - warts and all.I loved Mags. All things considered, she is an incredibly normal woman in an unreal world fuelled by booze, drugs, and overinflated ego's. She's struggling to keep herself sane, while pandering to the every need of her crew and her 'star' boss Jules.Jules is a great leading man. He's cheeky and funny with just the right amount of sarcastic flair - although he does have a tendency to sulk, but he's sexy and alluring, and knows that Mags has the hots for him.memorable line..."He whispered pacifying words to me through my hair; they ran like warm treacle down the long strands, taking eventual residence in the small caves of my ears."A great cast of characters to both love and hate, Private Love in a Public Place has been expertly written, drawing the reader in right from the start. The life of this on-tour band was both descriptive and entertaining, perhaps a little predictable in parts, but it was definitely shaken up with some really unexpected twists and turns - and lets not forget the hot sex! While there are some really tender and heartfelt moments of aww, there is a decent amount of hot blooded, I-want-you-right-now sex :)Right out of left field, the author spun this story on its head and had me gasping with shock and excitement. I was not expecting that at all, a great turn of unexpected events :)A thoroughly entertaining and pleasurable 4 star read ;]

I have a serious addiction for Rockers, and was so excited to find a new author/series. I seriously enjoyed Private Love in a Public Place.Mags O'Brien is the manager of out of control lead singer Julian MacAvoy. She lives on the alcohol/drug tour circuit. She helps him with everything, on top of being the tour organizer. Mags believes she is immune to his charm as she tells herself that she's a happily married woman. The long tour starts to wear holes in her happy marriage theory and she can't hide her attraction for her boss. Julian refuses to be tamed, as the pressure of fame starts to choke him. His world is starting to fall apart and he realizes that it can only be put back together again if he can have Mags. Can he force her to make the choice between him and her husband?Wow this was a different kind of rocker romance. It was sexy, gritty, and dark. It was a different look at what happens behind the scenes of a world tour from the manager's perspective. It shows the stresses of the road and how they can affect everyone involved including the behind the scenes crew and dancers. I enjoyed it the different tone is had because it wasn't all sunshine. The story engaged me from the beginning and I read it in one sitting. I love the writing style of this author, and can't wait to read more of her.

I liked the story and all of the characters.Julian (Jules) is a Rockstar on a world tour and his personal assistant, Magdeline (Mags to all !), makes sure everyone is in their place and organized. Mags is off limits to Jules because she is married but he has loved her a long time from afar. Mags, on the other hand, has just recently realized she is in love with Jules and has been in a somewhat loveless marriage, more of a comfortable arrangement Things get ugly when Jules is seen leaving with a woman and a man, heading back to his hotel suite. Rumors and news rag articles of bisexuality run rampant and it doesn't take long for Mags' husband, a homophobe, to arrive and demand she quit. What will she choose or rather whom?

3.5 starsThis story was a little different than the rock star romances I normally read. The characters were very down to earth and relatable. The group has a very loving family dynamic going on. They like to spend their down time together just hanging out and playing cards. Not a lot of the party scene going on. They all have very normal problems going on in their lives. Mags and Jules have been denying their attraction for quite some time. She has some major decisions to make. This is a cliffhanger, but we'll worth the read.Reviewed for FMR Book Grind

I really enjoyed Toni's first book, Private Love In A Public Place. A gritty, sexy and sometimes uncomfortable look at the life on the road of a rock star, his band and his assistant who looks after his every need. I loved that this isn't your normal run of the mill romance which steps outside the boundaries of what is considered formulaic romance. A very good read.

Solidly written, well-developed characters and a very realistic look at life on tour. Jules was a little too childish and neurotic to be sexy to me, but I can see why Mags would have been attracted to him. Definitely not a light read but enjoyable.

So much drama! I love this story, felt a little voyeuristic. This doesn’t happen much. I had sympathy for all involved, because it seems like they truly love each other.

Mags is in charge of helping a rocker stay in tune but never expected to fall for his charm. Cute and intriguing story.

SNS Rating: 4.0~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~The story of Jules and Mags is not your typical rock star romance. It is outstanding! Jules is a rock star and Mags is his manager. The band is on tour and these two people are secretly attracted to each other. Told from Mags point of view, she is in denial and pushes down her lust for him. As the tour continues onward, the reader has a front row seat observing the goings on, the incidents that occur and even some surprising twists. We see how these two lovable characters deal with their hidden feelings for each other and how the band responds to them. Their relationship begins to grow and develop. A couple of husbands get involved and stir things up, complicating matters. There are some surprising events that keeps the reader engaged and breathless. The ending was priceless! Never read a story before that ended with my heart in shock and in my mouth! Unbelievable! ~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.Private Love is the first installment in the Rock-star Romance series and revolves around Julian and Mags. Julian is the lead singer in a rock band and Mags is his manager. They each have their own lives outside of the band but that quickly changes while on tour. Will the fallout from this change destroy them or bring them closer? Read on to find out from Mags POV what happens. The scenery setting is outstanding. I felt like I was following the band around the world and into all of their 5 star hotels. However, I did not feel any connection with Julian or Mags. There were a lot of things that each of the main characters dealt with but they were never spoken about in any detail. This made it feel like I was distanced from them. There was more detail put into the scenery than into how the characters were actually feeling or where they were coming from. Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone and does have an HEA.

This story started out pretty good. I was interested in it and I had a brief instant of relief in thinking I was going to finally enjoy a book after suck a long period of unsatisfied and disappointing titles. Yeah there were a few moments when the age of the lead male was questionable but I managed to force those instincts back with a lame excuse as being an super star. I figured that eccentric and adolescent behavior was a characteristic that some do posses. I should have seen it there. Everything went suddenly south after the two leads hooked up. Then this story became more of an unlikely absurdity that could have easily landed the label as Fictional, Fantasy, or Far Fetched then Contemporary. Some chance at being believable needs to factor in before it gets that. It is such a shame though. It did start out good and had a great start for being exceptionally great. Sadly, it didn't make it to my small top favorite rocker/musician stories. That list currently only has four titles in it; "Off Course" (Off #4) by Sawyer Bennett,"Try Me" (One Night With Soul Regret #1 - Gabe and Melanie) by Olivia Cunning,"Tell Me" (One Night With Soul Regret #6 - Gabe and Melanie) by Olivia Cunning, and "Rock the Heart" (Black Falcon, #1) by Michelle A. Valentine.

Mags manages Julian. I find Julian like a spoiled primadonna. I understand he is the star but he is so much work for Mags. She has been keeping her distance. When he is on stage it seems to work. Julian realizes he need Mags for everything. However Mags is married and the situation hasn't changed....some choices need to be made about Julian. The book is a quick read but I found Julian spoiled and very annoying. I never felt a connection from Mags or Julian. Even her husband acts like a prude wit a business relationship. Not a marriage. Hope it improves. I give 2.5 books

I thought this was a great rockstar story as it was different than others I have read. Julian is a rockstar and Mags has been his organizer. In a loveless marriage, Mags cannot help falling for Julian. Trouble is she is married? How does Julian feel about that? Enjoy their story! It was sweet and romantic!

This is not your run of the mill romance and so I liked it. Although I didn't always agree with Mags's choices, she is tough yet sensitive and has a journey to go on before finding her personal happiness. Kenyon depicts the rock star world candidly, warts and all, and this adds an extra layer to the book.If you love out-of-the-ordinary, off-beat romances, then this is the book for you.

I will admit that when it comes to reading rock star books there are just a few authors that I will read. But this cover was just talking to me and I just had to go outside my norm and I am so glad that I did. I felt like I was getting in inside look of what goes on behind the scenes.

I totally loved this book!!! I love first person reads! How hard it must have been for Mags to stay faithful to her unloving husband Nick while on the road touring with Julian MacVoy. Mags was falling for Julies daily. glad to see the good ones get what they want and deserve in the end.

Rock star books are always intriguing to me. In this one the characters are great, down to earth but exciting at the same time!! This is a great insight into life on the road and I certainly don't know how rockers do it although exciting it isn't for me. Thanks for a gritty but fun story ~ 4 stars.
