This was another okay instalment, and we got a bit of action in this one. Once again we got new powers developing and even more members added to this crazy family. We once again got a cliff-hanger ending though.6 out of 10

This book has so many OMG moments, I do not know where to start but I will try to not give away too much and the spoilers are mild at best. We start where we left off with Meg and Alik being held prisoner by the cruel and evil doctor Kenneth Williams. Meg comes into her own in this book by using her gift as an Empath to save herself, disable the metasoldiers and find her brother Alik. Creed, Farrow and Evan are frantically trying to locate them inside the facility and rescue them before the evil doctor has time to plan his counter-attack. Getting out alive is just the beginning for the Winter Clan and as in any war, sacrifices will be made and casualties will occur. Sloane decides to defect with them and she takes a shine to Evan as they are both brilliant in their fields. Alik is evolving and this could not come at a worse time as all the Winter's need to be at full strength. Cole is recovering from his car accident and dealing with being a meta now and his unresolved feelings for Meg. Margo is adjusting to her new life and welcomes a new addition to the family but loses someone that will break her heart. Against insurmountable odds, against an evil so demonic that Dr Williams looks like an angel in comparison, the Winter Clan will be forced to fight for their lives and each other.Ultimately this story is about family, not just blood but the family we choose for ourselves. The friends, acquaintances and even frenemies that we seek to spend time with and protect. A tapesty of interconnecting threads woven with love, loyalty, devotion and redemption. We all take our freedom for granted but as the Winter Clan illustrates so beautifully, sometimes the simplicity of being able to choose who we love and how we live our lives is the greatest freedom of all.Chapter 36 is a true culmination of the love that Meg and Creed feel for each other and all the more heartbreaking as the story evolves towards it's conclusion. I truly loved it and shed a tear for all that Meg had gone through, sacrificed and lost. There is one hell of a cliffhanger ending, thanks a lot Karen that had my heart beating furiously and I will be anxiously awaiting the next book and holding my breath for a hopeful outcome.A masterpiece yet again.

Wow! The Winter's Saga books are really heating up. So much is happening and as I go from book to book, I begin to wonder how Karen Luellen can possibly top the book that came before this one,and also wanting more of what made the first books so great. The author is a powerful story teller, able to pull on the emotions of the reader, as well as deliver a story that keeps you engaged and invested. 4 books in and I still care about these characters; I want them to live, I want them to win!Warrior picks up where book 3 left off, and if you've read book 3 you know we were left with quite the cliff hanger. There are so many surprises, that I don't want to give them away, but one of the best elements of the book, for me, is that there is the addition of a new villain. Dr. Kenneth Williams isn't the only bully on the playground anymore, and he isn't even the biggest. Professor Arkdone is way more frightening, but just as intriguing. I loved how we got to get a glimpse into the past and see how the whole 'metahuman' project came to be. Williams and Arkdone make a great evil pair, but are even more entertaining when they become enemies. About halfway through the book, everything changes and the Winters are under attack from not just one foe, but two.As always, we are on a roller coaster ride of thrills and action, but you know Karen won't skimp on the emotion. It's all there and if I may say so, I believe that she has gotten even better at weaving these elements together.Things I loved about this book:1. Alik Winter. Can you say...hottie???? Creed Young is still my hero and I love him, but now he's got competition in Alik. We really saw him step up in this book!2. The addition of a new family member in Danny. What a cutie! I loved how he was there for Margo when she needed him and how the little meta boy brought the family together.3. The evil plot hatched by Arkdone that tears the Winter family apart. I will say no more on that one, but let's just say it was one of those moments so deliciously evil, that I couldn't help but admire the genius of it.Things I didn't like:1. Cole. Yeah, he got on my nerves, so I'm really hoping he will get a grip and man up in book 5. Still love you and your books Karen! :)Even Cole's whining didn't get in the way of my enjoyment of this book. I loved it, I loved it, and am now pining for book 5!

Actual rating - 2.5The characters weren't too bad in this one. This one didn't feel as long as the last one, so it wasn't quite so bad. It was still fairly boring though.

Winter's Warrioris so far the best in the series. It’s the fourth one in the series and you couldn’t ask for a better story. It unloads shock and amazement while containing the perfect balance of romance, action, and drama. The trials and tribulations the Winter Clan have faced pale in comparison to what lies ahead. This is the Empire Strikes Back of the Winter’s Saga. They are beaten and broken until they final lose a member. And even in that lost they let their faith shine against the mounting evil against them.Five months will be like walking through the desert thirsty. Winter's Warriorends so perfect on a despondent yet upbeat tone that you want the next book to read.Karen Luellen has created an amazing series that should be on “Best” List somewhere. She found her stride in this book and still managed to change the dynamic of the series. From beginning to end I didn’t put it down. If you haven’t started reading the Winter’s Saga you really should with its science yet to be fact, its action and adventure. Winter’s Saga is four perfect novels not just for young adults but older readers as well.

The Winter family has been torn apart, attacked, kidnapped and used as pawns in a tug-of-war between two evil scientists. Through all of this, Alik is now going through a huge change, coming into more powers and seriously growing up! More metahumans have been rescued and have joined in their cause and their 'family.'Each book has topped the last one and this is no exception! It is 'more mature' and darker than previous books. The evil has doubled and is twice as scary! Each character has 'their day' and we see different views of simultaneous action! I especially loved how Karen Luellen pulled this off, making every character come alive! And, AGAIN with the cliffhanger at the end at a point when I didn't know whether to cry or rant for these great kids!

Actual Rating: 2.75This was okay. The first half was confusing, while the second half was much better! The characters were okay. The ending could have been better as it was dull and a bit boring. Now on to book 5! Overall, a decent read

No, no, no, no, no!!! Ugh! I SO wanted this book to be the last one! Now let me explain:That wasn't said because the book wasn't good. I have LOVED this series. I just don't know that I can handle anymore heartache for this family!! And the ending? I so didn't see that coming, what a shocker! Danny has been a very pleasant surprise...but Meg!!! My heart is screaming for that child! And poor Margo! I really don't know what I can say in this review without giving anything away about the book. All I can say is read this series, it's SO worth it! It only took me so long to read it because I read it during the holidays. Once I got time, I couldn't put it down. Great job, Karen! Now March...hurry up and get here!

What can I say about this book other than it was the best of the series so far! This family shows time and again, that if you choose the good you will prevail! I am so happy that Creed is back with the family and not only creed but Sloan and Baby Danny. I knew from the moment that danny came into play in the book that he was special. How sweet is he? All I have to say is I cant wait for book 5 to come out and see what happens between everyone also I always knew Williams was connected to Meg deeper thn just a test human.

I highly recommend reading this series. This first book was a little choppy but the characters are better defined and becoming their "own" in the following books. I'm looking forward to book 5.About me- I'm 50 and expect a book to keep me interested within the first 5 pages. This one does that as do the following books. The endings do keep you hanging but the writer does keep her story structure intact near the end of the books.

I had to buy this book the same night as I finished book three because book three left me hanging on a cliff-ahh! This book is not to be outdone by the rest and is full of adventure, love, sadness, heartache, frustration, and yes, since book five will be released in March 2013 it is another waiting game! AHH! I am holding onto my breath and am still facing the same issues with this book as the others--not being able to get my work done because I'd rather hide in a corner and read!

Oh my goodness! This kept me tense and on the edge of my seat through the whole book. The story continues where book 3 left off and filled with family, love, action, suspense, and so much more. Each book reveals more about the Winter’s family faith and their strong reliance on God through extremely difficult times. My son and I have already started book 5 and can’t wait to see where it takes us!

I absolutely love this series. It is awesome and sweet. I love the prayers and the belief in God as I think it makes the book more realistic and makes me love it even more. I loved how Creed and Meg finally shared their love for eachother, did not like the kidnappings but enjoyed how the joke was on him. So sad about Meg, can't wait to find out next! Thank you for a great series! Love this!

I loved getting to know more about Alik and Farrow in this book. They are a well matched couple. The action started of right away, and if you read the last one, it was expected. Another shocker of an ending..... Creed is still my favorite. <3 <3 <3 I cannot wait to see how Danny's gift helps Meg. :)Will the next book have more about Evan?

The last part of the book about Danny...OMG, I got chills...I had a feeling that sweet little boy was going to do wonderful things. As always I cant wait till the next to find out what happens:)

Watching the interactions between Williams and Arkdone were like watching Hannibal Lechter talk to the Devil himself. There was no way of knowing who was more evil.My heart went out to the rest of the Winters clan. I can't wait to see what is in store for them in Book 5! A happy ending I hope.

I'm so glad that I have the next book in the series, because this was more of a cliffhanger than the last one. I'm really loving this series though. This series just keeps getting more and more intense!

Sad to say but I gave up on the series and this book is a DNF for me. There are so few books that I put as DNF as I really try to plow through them to see if it will get better but sadly, the book just got to be so ridiculous. The writing has improved as the series went on but the storyline just went south. The religious tones got much heavier in this book as well.(view spoiler)[ Margo is supposedly special forces and has brought up her kids to be fighters with battle strategy. You do not return to the same place where the enemy you have been trying to avoid knows EXACTLY where you are living. I understand that Cole was still there in ICU but the rest of the family did not need to return there. They could have landed anywhere in the US. In fact the sooner Margo got treatment, the better her chances of recovery would have been. The entire family just comes off as TSTL. Then the whole explosive / trigger implants. That is what finally made me throw in the towel. (hide spoiler)]I really wanted to like the series, as evidenced by reading into the 4th book.

This chapter of the Winter Clan's story was a bit tough to get through. Although I enjoyed the continuing story and the deepening of the relationships throughout, I found myself just willing the story to be over. The descriptions of Dr. Williams' ever deteriorating body was gag inducing for me and I was heartbroken by the latest hurdle the Winter family had to face. I just kept thinking "When are they going to catch a break?" I loved the addition of Danny, and I'm looking forward to how he will play in the future. I also really like the connections between the couples. They were a sweet and tender respite from the rest of the tense tone of the book. I did like the book and I will continue to follow this series, but this particular book... not my favorite.
