This was the first romance story (that didn't have a paranormal element) I have read and thank the author for the opportunity to read her work. What a beautiful backdrop, the plains of Kenya. The story had real potential and towards the end I really got into it. In the first half though I didn't really feel the passion between the main characters, Waiko and Chris, there wasn't enough description on their physical reactions to each other and some of their actual placements in the story were confused. eg Waiko is looking out of the window, then she is pulled from the lounge into Chris' arms. There were a few spelling/grammatical errors that made me feel like it was more of a first draft rather than a finished product. The location was beautiful and added to the appeal of the story.

Pleasant ReadersThis book started out very slowly for me. When Waiko found out that her boyfriend had cheated on her, she ran away to Mara. Her job there was to plan activities for the guest including a Valentine's day wedding for Jonathan and LeAnn.Jonathan checked into The Mara under the guise of being a relative of the couple, checking on the accommodations. A flirtatious friendship developed which led to a seduction on Valentine's day. It was after that she found out Jonathan and Chistopher were one and the same, and that his fiancee and their parents were there for the wedding. After suffering another broken heart, she found she was pregnant with his child. Five years later he reappeared, divorced and looking for the love of his life, only to get the surprise of his life. All's well that ends well and this couple eventually got their HEA. Slow start but turned out to be a pleasant read.

Disjointed, rambling and difficult to follow in terms of the characters feelings. I get insta love and can even appreciate it but whatever is going on between these two is totally lost in overblown poetry. They always seem to be talking but saying absolutely nothing. Too much teasing, which I suspect was supposed to come off as playful banter but really reads like a couple of twelve year olds who are too grown for their own good. I didn't find it romantic. Hell, I didn't find it anything but flat out strange.More than 1 star but 2 saying "its ok" is misleading lol. Beyond the editing woes it just has a really wierd flow. 1.5 as this story is very much NOT ok. Maybe someone who enjoyed it can explain how to me.

100p Wakio escapes the city trying to distance herself from her broken heart. She finds peace of mind at the heart of the Mara, but something she didn't expect to find was love. Christopher is known to many as Jonathan, and to those familiar to him know that Jonathan is about to get married. He meets a lady and doesn't tell her who he truly is, or why he is at the Mara. He learns how quickly one can fall in love. But he also learns that love is only for the strong. How can he fight for Wakio when he isn't strong enough?
