Ally Kincaid hasn’t been home to her family ranch in Wyoming since the passing of her mother two years ago. When she returns a phone call from her father, she’s shocked to hear a stranger’s voice on the other end. Not only does she think the mystery man is rude, but what is a stranger doing on the ranch, in her home, and why does the sexy voice make her tingle all over? A visit seems long overdue, and she just might figure out what is going on at the Circle K ranch. What’s going on is that her father hired a foreman, no background check, no questions asked, and he’s living in the main house! But the hardest pill for Ally to swallow seems to be that her “but Daddy” act doesn’t work anymore. While she’s still overly cautious and suspicious, her longing for the sexy cowboy continues to grow.Matt Gentry left his past behind him two years ago. As the foreman of the Circle K ranch, he has a job he loves and an employer he respects. He’s grateful and thankful that his past has never come up, until the boss’ daughter showed up. The last thing Matt wants is to get involved with her, but he can’t seem to get her out of his mind. Before they know it, barriers are coming down and they give in to their desire. But when Ally’s father has a near fatal accident, Matt’s past threatens to be exposed in the worst possible way at the worst possible time. Will Ally understand or forgive him when she finds out?Short, steamy and a sexy cowboy. All the essentials for a great western romance. I enjoyed the plot which I felt had the right amount of everything – sparks, snark, passion and drama. I loved the male characters the most in this novella. Jesse as the sweet daddy figure, a hard working man who loves his daughter dearly, but has no problem putting her in her place when she steps out of bounds. And Matt, the sexy cowboy with a mysterious past. The more he deflects, the more interesting he becomes, and he plays the tortured hero rather well. I think I understood or connected with him the most, and with his desire for privacy.Ally didn’t appeal to me at all. Her southern sass which would normally be funny, cute and endearing just came off as bratty to me from the very first page with her reaction to the phone call. For someone who didn’t seem to care about staying in touch with her Daddy, her concern and over-protectiveness didn’t have the desired effect on me. She just seemed jaded and judgmental. Maybe that was the cliched New York attitude that had rubbed off on her. Instead of asking Matt the questions she wanted to ask, she made assumptions, therefore I had a hard time seeing what Matt found so attractive about her, other than the physical. I do wish she had learned something from her interferences and decided against tucking tail. She was also not a very good listener, apparently. When Matt reveals his past to her, she’s surprised he used to live in New York. He had mentioned it twice in the story before – once when talking about his niece, and the second time at the hospital. For the time frame of this story, their love seemed a little rushed, but I did love the ending. Definitely swoon-worthy.Disclaimer: I received a review copy from the author via CBLS Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

Who says you can’t go home again?Concerned about the emotional well-being of her father, Ally Kincaid has returned to the ranch where she was raised in Wyoming. Having lived in New York for many years, she realizes quickly how much she misses home, as well as her widowed father. The only problem she encounters is her father’s trusted foreman, Matt.Matt Gentry is a man hiding in plain sight. A mysterious traumatic event from his past has brought him to Freewill, and he’s worked day in and day out ever since. Having developed a strong affinity for his boss and friend, Jessie Kincaid, his life is thrown for a loop when Jessie’s daughter, Ally, comes home for a visit.Ally and Matt have an instant attraction, if not love, at first sight. While both resist, the draw becomes too much and they succumb to their mutual desires.I was immediately drawn into this story, and for the first half was riveted to every word. The antagonistic, yet sexually charged relationship Ally and Matt were developing made for a fun read. The sex was intensely hot, and I was anxious to find out if, or how, they would end up together. After the couple’s consummation, the story fell a bit flat. The set up being so well laid out, I was disappointed that the latter part of the book seemed to focus on Ally’s father and his recovery, rather than the relationship between Ally and Matt. They were together at the hospital, and while their interaction was referenced, we didn’t get to witness much of it. There was little communication between them after the hot sex they shared, so the mystery of where their relationship was continued to be in question.I enjoyed living the tale through both points of view, but at times felt it was switched perhaps too often. It made it a little hard to truly connect with each character, but it also kept the reader wondering what Matt’s mysterious past had to do with his current frame of mind. So, this may have been done for suspense effect. While I was happy with the end, considering the two had little time together, and what there was revolved around injury, the topic of marriage seemed a big step. However, I love the idea of the two riding off into the sunset, and can see the foundation of a long term relationship set.As a whole, I loved the story of Matt and Ally, the devoted cowboy and the rancher’s daughter. This is a new spin on a classic tale, and I enjoyed taking the time to read it. If you love a rugged cowboy paired with the beautiful city gal, this is a great one to read!Originally posted at: http://www.longandshortreviews.com/bo...

More like a 3.5 star rating. Oh Goodreads how I wish you had half star ratings. Take Me Home, Cowboy is the first book I’ve read by Krista Ames. For a short story, I was really impressed. Ally Kincaid has been away from home for too long. She misses her dad and the family ranch. The more she thinks about it the more she likes the idea of getting away from her city job and overly solicitous boss for just a bit. Excited to be home, she expects to find everything as it always was. Instead, she finds her dad has a new foreman that he has put his absolute trust and faith in. He’s not only helping to make decisions, but he’s rooming in the main house. This doesn’t sit too well with Ally. She’s afraid her dad is being way too trusting. It doesn’t help any that she has an attraction to the new foreman that she just can’t keep fighting.Matt Gentry is living a very different life than he ever thought he would, yet it’s such a good fit. His past still haunts him and he can’t seem to outrun it. But, what better place to try than a beautiful ranch, working for a man that he respects and doing a job that makes him feel complete. That is until the boss’s daughter comes home and shakes up Matt’s control a bit. She’s hard headed and prickly, but she’s sexy as hell and fun to be around when she lets her guard down. Forever or even long term is not in his vocabulary, so why is Ally making him question his own rules?“So let me just say, those jealousy vibes you’re throwing off are making me hotter than hell, and I’m having a whole lot of trouble keeping my hands off you right about now.”I definitely recommend this book for a quick read. It really has a lot to offer for a novella. You can find this review and others at http://tinar1121.blogspot.com

Take Me Home, Cowboy is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by Krista Ames and let me tell you it sure won't be my last. I absolutely loved this book. It had my attention captured on the first page. Krista Ames did a fabulous job of putting together a great contemporary western romance. I know I'll be on the look out for more books by her. When Ally Kincaid goes home to see her father she meets the handsome new foreman. I loved Ally she is a country girl born and raised but has moved to the city. This girl is full of spunk and has no problem speaking what is on her mind. This gets her in trouble a few times but handsome cowboy Matt Gentry finds her so hot he forgives her pretty quick. The steam and sparks between these two is HOT. Matt Gentry is one HOT cowboy with a past he is trying to deal with. Things have happened in Matt's past that he feels guilty about, so he's not real forth coming with his past. This presents some problem with his relationship with Ally. Matt thinks once Ally knows about his past he'll lose her. Ally & Matt have an instant attraction that neither is sure should be there. Ally doesn't trust Matt with a past he doesn't want to talk about & he's her Dad's foreman. Matt doesn't want to get into a relationship with the boss's daughter. They just can't deny the attraction though. I really enjoyed watching these two spar and then make up. I love a good western cowboy romance with some hot loves scenes. How can you possibly go wrong with a HOT cowboy? I would highly recommend this book to all the western romance fans out there. I think you will enjoy it, I know I did.

**Originally Posted @ SinfulReads BlogREVIEW: I have always kept my liking for cowboy a secret but I will no more. This western romance erotica just amplified my liking for men in boots, wrangler jeans and cowboy hats. Take Me Home, Cowboy is a very romantic and erotic read that will leave you gasping for more.Ally Kincaid is a southern belle with a hint of city girl after having moved to NYC for work. There, she has established a life and a really good job. After a number of bad relationships Ally decides to just forget about men and the complications that comes with having one. I like Ally a lot, she is a strong woman, with strong personality and a big heart. It is easy to identify with her, she loves her father and love her roots and hasn’t forgotten where she came from. I think her character is exactly what I would picture a southern belle to be, sweet, beautiful and smart. After a few bad relationships, Ally doesn’t think there is a man out there for her. That’s until she meets her the new employee in her father’s farm, a man who was not only rude to her on the phone but whose accent had an immediate effect on her, making her body tingle and sizzle and her mind roll with the possibilities.Matt Gentry is the sexy cowboy we all wish we had. He is sexy, with a sexy accent and a body that could make any woman sizzle from desire. I really really liked his character. He is sweet, a total gentleman and a sexual specimen. I have always been a secret admirer of hot cowboys, the tight jeans, the boots, the hat and the funky accent can make any woman melt and Matt isn’t the exception. I am in love with his character. His interaction with Ally and his desire for her is what makes this ready steamy. I like the drama behind his character, his past and sad story brings the necessary balance to this steamy read. Ally past experiences make anyone a believer that destiny always has something for everyone. Matt and Ally are perfect together, their interaction, the sex and their desire makes them a lovely couple. Love at first sight may not come for everyone but for Matt and Ally it was instant. I recommend this read, it is short but sweet, great character and steamy sex. I like that combination.

This is the first book I've read by Krista Ames and I really enjoyed it. It's set mostly on a ranch in Freewill, Wyoming. And it sounds like it would be a lovely place to visit. Keep an eye out for the office in the barn! Oh My! *grins* I would prefer it to have more sex for carrying the erotic label, but it is still a SPICY read. The pages are numbered on my review as 70 so it is a short read but I highly recommend it! It's well written and I was wrapped up in it from start to finish. Absolutely perfect for a lunch break read or any other time you have about an hr or so to go escape into a good book.Ally has left Circle K Ranch to become a big city editor and has come home on a long overdue vacation. Her dad tricks her into coming for a visit. I absolutely LOVE that the does that. It really gave him an amazing character and to me really set the fun mood throughout the entire book. Ally can't except her Dad's choice in making Matt the Ranch Manager at all. And she can't help herself butting into it very chance she gets. Some of those were a little annoying but for the most part they are funny and truly sweet.Matt is a man with a past he's not proud of and would rather forget about. But Ally just keeps pushing. He isn't looking for even a one night fling with a women let alone falling for the bosses daughter. He really likes his boss and his job and doesn't want to screw it all up. I really like his boss too and wish there'd be another book dealing with him finding a new love as well. Matt is a total sweet sexual specimen gentleman and his secrete doesn't get in his way of doing his job. But it does get in the way of being with Ally.Eventually, it all comes out and neither one wants to accept it until it's of course too late to. But it's comes to a close with a really satisfying end.

Take Me Home, Cowboy shows us that opposites do in fact attract as city girl Ally butts heads with rancher Matt from the moment they meet. Ally's used to being the apple of her father's eye but Matt now holds a special spot in her father's heart as he admires his work ethic and ability to rebuild his life after a tragedy. Ally's initial reaction to Matt is one of suspicion that grows as she overhears many conflicting comments from him that bring out the worst in her. She appears a bit elitist at first as she resents Matt's being so close to her father. She's jealous and thinks he's out to hurt her father which soon proves false as a tragic accident has Matt coming to the rescue. It's hard for her to get past the thoughts in her head which leads to a regrettable decision to run which is not at all thought out. Her impulsiveness again shows her in a bad light and these fits of immaturity exasperated me.On the other hand Matt comes off as playful. He's not offended by her snobbiness and gives just as good as he gets. He's had a traumatic past that he doesn't want to rehash, he just wants to move on from it. He doesn't know why he's drawn to Ally, he just is. They're very different people but something about the ranch brings them closer together as shows Ally in a much better light, it's a softer side not hardened by the big city.I never found their romance to be completely believable, but it is hot. Their verbal sparring leads to some very sexy interludes. There's a fantasy feel to this story as it's a quick read with lots glossed over. The ending is especially quick and a bit over the top as yet another roadblock is put in the way of the HEA. Ms. Ames has created a fun read full of fireworks that is every women's fantasy. Here's to any future delights courtesy of Ms. Ames.....

Like diving headfirst into a bowl of whipped cream, this is a deliciously light and frothy read. It’s ideal when you want a quick and undemanding story, a sweet dessert after something heavy. The premise is simple: Ally Kincaid hasn’t been home to her father’s ranch for two years. Busy with her life in New York, her father worries that he hasn’t seen her and tells her to come and visit. When she gets there it’s to discover he has a new ranch hand, the exceedingly sexy Matt Gentry. Not only does she know nothing about him, but he’s also moved into the main ranch and her father seems to have developed a close friendship with him.Sparks fly between them at first, but they quickly ignite into a passionate inferno, and Ally has to make some big decisions about her cowboy.I enjoyed this, my first from Krista Ames. It was very much a fairytale romance with few surprises, but she handled it well and there were some funny – and some sweet moments. Ally’s nickname (Ally-Cat) was appropriate as she frequently screeched and occasionally showed her claws, but she was a very likable heroine. As for Matt… what’s not to like? A big, strong gentleman with a protective streak a mile wide and enough secrets to make him interesting. I'll be looking out for more from this author :-)

3.5/4 Stars – Hot cowboy story!Ally Kincaid hasn’t been home to her family’s ranch in Wyoming since her mother died, which was two years ago. After responding to a phone call from her father, she decides to return home and comes face to face with the man her father has hired to be the foreman of the ranch. A man who sets her body on fire, but one who frustrates her and seems to be keeping secrets.Matt Gentry returned to Wyoming to help heal the emotional scars he carries. When he lands a job as the foreman at the Circle K Ranch he spends his days working hard on the ranch and avoiding any type of romantic involvements. When he comes face to face with his boss’s daughter, there is little he can do to stop himself from acting upon the attraction he feels for her. When Ally’s dad has an accident and some of Matt’s secrets are exposed, Ally’s suspicions cause her to flee back to her life in New York, leaving Matt behind.I really enjoyed this story – there was plenty of tension and heat. Matt was sexy as hell with a snarky and dirty mouth to compliment his sexy body. Ally was a bit annoying at times – she definitely reacted without thinking and had trust issues. I would like to have had a bit more background on Ally’s story (there was talk of a bad break-up as well as her being pursued romantically by her boss) which may have helped me identify with her character more. Matt and Ally’s love story moved very fast, and although Matt’s story came out, I would have liked to know a little more of his back-story as well since it seemed that the scars he carried were much deeper than what was revealed. All in all it was a good quick read that left me smiling in the end!

Take Me Home Cowboy is a contemporary/western romance novella, part of the Western Escape series by Decadent Publishing all set in Freewill, Wyoming but all stand alone books.Ally, left Freewill to go to New York and become a editor in the publishing field, when she comes home to check on her dad at their ranch she finds a sexy cowboy with a past he keeps silent about, Matt Gentry, has become the foreman at the ranch in her absence. Sparks fly and chemistry is immediate.Ally I found came off as rather abrasive and spoiled for the fist part of the story, as someone who grew up "out West" and has since moved to the "East Coast" I understand the change in dealing with people that must take place when you go from a small town to the big city, I don't know that it was Ms. Ames goal to make you dislike Ally at first but it would be easy to not appreciate the necessity of her attitude adjustment. When Matt finally reveals what he has been hiding it seem to me anyway to not be that big of a deep dark secret that he should have worried over, but hey that is just me.Overall it was a cute fast read with one particularly steamy scene and some sexual tension. A fun escape for a few hours in the afternoon to a small town in Wyoming filled with hot cowboys. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Ally Kincaid is an editor at Blume Brothers Publishing and has no desire to be in a relationship, and continually has to remind her boss Daniel of this as he keeps asking her out. When a phone call out to her father, Jesse, goes answered by a rude cowboy she knows it's time to come home for a visit.Matt Gentry is escaping from his past and has been working as the foreman on the ranch for Jesse for the past two years. He is not looking for any relationship but can't help be instantly attracted to Ally, no matter how much he tries to deny it. The two have chemistry for sure but neither are looking for a future together. When an accident makes them each question their life will it bring them together or let them know that they are better off apart. And most importantly will Ally forgive Matt for his past? This was a sweet romance on the importance of forgiving ourselves for things out of our control. Both Ally and Matt have pasts that not make them want to love again, yet the both know they have so many feelings for each other that they find it difficult to overlook. Such a great romance and I look forward to more from the author!

Reviewed by JoAnneBook provided by the publisherOriginally posted at Romancing the BookAt only 76 pages this was a novella that had a lot packed into it. Ally and Matt had immediate chemistry both on the phone and once they met. Matt had reservations since she was the boss’ daughter. She had reservations since he was the foreman of Daddy’s ranch. But eventually neither one let that get in the way. It was interesting to start and end the story in New York with Wyoming sandwiched in between. Ally’s boss Daniel was a piece of work and not someone I would want to work for. The descriptions of the ranch and the horses were vivid. The thoroughbred purchased to be a stud to a couple of the mares took an instant liking to Ally and his actions were fun to watch until he was spooked. There was family, friends, the ranch, doubt, misgivings, sadness, hurt, happiness, laughter and tears along with romance and love. Matt had secrets that only he could reveal and in time he did. There was nice closure but an epilogue would have been nice.Ames is a new to me author and I look forward to reading her other books especially since I like western romances and cowboys.

I’ll be honest, I am a big fan of contemporary western romances…and books like Take Me Home, Cowboy are the reason. This is my first book by author Krista Ames and I was very impressed that she put such a delightful twist on old favorite ~ big city girl returns to her roots where she discovers love. This is a very sweet and touching romance between two people that soon discover an attraction through sexual tension. The author was even able to turn something that normally completely repulses me -- characters who keep secrets from each other – into something wonderful. Matt never let his secret get in the way of his character or his genuine feelings for Ally; you could feel the very deep emotional connection between the characters,I could go on and on about this book, but it's better for you to just go buy it and then read it. Disclosure: This ebook was provided to me free of charge by Decadent Publishing for the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments, and ratings are my own.

Take Me Home, Cowboy by Krista AmesAlly returns home for the first time in two years since her mothers death. Her father had left a message for her to come visit. On returning she finds the new foreman is Matt Gentry. With is cocky attitude and southern draw Ally is drawn to him against her better judgement. One sizzling kiss she throws caution to the wind. Hot steamy sex yet her mind wonders what it is that he is hiding. Tragedy strikes the ranch, what secrets will come out? This was a nice Sunday read. The tension and the sex was just right for this short story. I really enjoyed the whole premise of this storyline. The characters were well-developed and simply leaped off the pages, the plot was complex and well-thought out for such a short story, the dialogue was believable and the sex scenes were smoldering enough to keep you begging for more. If you love western stories like myself and haven’t picked up a copy of Krista Ames’ Take Me Home Cowboy, then you’re definitely missing out because this is a great Saturday afternoon read that will quickly warm your heart and put a smile on your face. Oh my, Ms. Ames. Take Me Home, Cowboy was a huge helping of home-spun enjoyment. I was in love with the story from beginning to end. Ally (a senior editor working in the big city) comes home to her family's ranch and falls for the foreman - hunky Matt. Ahhhh... oh yes, back to the review... sexual tension abounds and Ms. Ames knows how to please. She even makes washing dishes seem sexy. **Reviewer can't help smiling to herself**Anyway, this little story is filled with heat, romance, and true emotion. Take Me Home, Cowboy is a very quick read. I'm always a sucker for a good cowboy love story. Ally and Matt have an instant attraction. Their one love scene was very hot! My only regret was that the story was way too short. I thought that it should have been longer with more of Ally and Matt together. The HEA came too fast for me. But that is why I have a love/hate relationship with novellas. I always want more! It's a sweet story that will make you want to find your own sexy cowboy!

A short story about lust at first sight; a cowboy erotica.Overall; not a bad short story. I am not a fan of lust at first sight. I like to see a more substantial attraction. I also thought his 'secret' was a little on the lame side. The connection wasn't strong enough for him to feel that degree of guilt.
