Oswald West Governor of Oregon 1911-1915 Reviews
Oswald West, governor of Oregon from 1911-1915, was a most colorful person who managed to do some great things in 4 years - saved our beaches for the public, woman were given the right to vote in Oregon, a parole system for prisoners was instituted, and capital punishment was abolished. Historian, Joe Blakely, does a fine job of detailing West's life and service to Oregon.
Interesting account of the accomplishments of Oregon's governor West, from the Oregon beaches, women's rights and the Columbia River and coast highways. Enjoyed this book a lot. Love reading about Oregon history.
