What do you get when you cross a smoking-hot Grim Reaper with a sexy vamp vixen? This fun, steamy, unique gem that I enjoyed the hell out of!!"You...you really are Death." "And you, Mattie, you are a Vampire." Graham counters with an intrigued realization. "That's why you didn't die."I give him a coy grin and add, "Don't you know, there's no death for the wicked." Mattie is a crass, angst-filled, sex-craving vamp who's not happy with the way things are going with her life. Her "mother" was useless, and then there's HIM...Graham, that guy she craved and now knows is none other than the Grim Reaper. But with him gone and her life really nothing to speak of, she's heading for the vamp town where she knows she can find the serum she needs. The serum to allow her to feel the sun, experience daylight. Little does she know what she's going to have to do in order to get that serum, and who she'll be entangled with. Lucky for her, HE shows up because HE is craving her just as much in return. Graham, OH MY LORD, was sex on a stick!! Even as this hot-as-hell Grim Reaper was sucking the life out of his victims while he eased some of his...tension, he was sexy! THe sparks between him and Mattie were intense, they practically spontaneously combusted every time they touched and I was fanning myself left and right! That on top of the orgasm-inducing vampire bites that Mattie was inflicting on nearby humans made this one steam-filled read that I couldn't put down!! As far as plot goes, there probably could have been more going on beyond the lust and licking, because things did wrap up a little too quick and neatly. But Mattie got herself into a few predicaments that added suspense and excitement, and I loved how Graham played the knight in shining armor despite it being against his nature to SAVE lives. He and Mattie were an ironic, perfect pair, and right now I just want more so I'm hoping that ending is not really the end of their tale!! Definitely recommend this one to PNR fans out there!

The author has once again taken a modern tale, added vampires, witches, lusty sensual scenes and twists that stimulate a reader's mind, along with the love triangles, the mysteries, the sacrifices, and so much more to create a wicked story. Which all lovers of the supernatural, paranormal and glimpses of vampires' world all will relish. This story is a gritty tale of a female vampire and the Grim Reaper, and they bond through suspenseful events. Mattie the main character is a young woman coming of age, and resides with her maker, Mommy Dearest, who turned her. They do not get along, as the mother is a hungry thirsty selfish vampire and alcoholic. They get in to fierce fights and Mattie is neglected. She has to fend for herself, and it is Halloween Eve, and she hikes to a Halloween bash, and meets more then she bargains for. She is pulled in a dark world of needs and desires that cannot be quench, the thirst of the blood to the infatuation of a mysterious stranger. The tale spins into her breaking free and goes to the Big City of Solace to seek her independence and the secret to walk as the dead, not only at night, but in the daylight. She is thrust into the ancient dynasty world of the Elite Vampires, and is hired to be their servant in exchange for the serum. She is placed into tricky situations, and her knight in shining armor or death is Graham. He seems to appear at of nowhere when she is on the brink of danger and rescues her. In the midst of their events, they are attracted to each other and teased each other to the point of no return. The sensual details are compelling and sizzling, as they fight the Elite. The tale spins out of control and is wicked as the incidents are fast paced and enticing. The Piece of Resistance was the justice served at the ending, still echoing in this reader's mind. Definitely it is an addicted read and thrill seekers will enjoyed this age mature novel and addicting tale with a promise of more to come.

I was given this book in return for an honest review. Mattie seems like a normal teenager, she sneaks out when her mom is drunk enough to go hang with her friends at a party. But you soon find out that Mattie isn't normal, she's a vampire. When Mattie runs into a mysterious guy that gets her toes in a twist, she is bummed, because he is a reaper. He disappears and she runs away from home. Heading for the big city in search of the magical "Daylight" a potion that lets vampires walk in the daytime. Unfortunately it is hoarded and doled out by the Voynich Vampires that run the vampires in the city of Solace. What they want her to do for the Daylight, doesn't sit well with Mattie, and although she agrees, she also bucks the system. When doing so becomes dangerous, Graham the Reaper, shows back up and saves the day. But Graham, who wants Mattie like no other, may not always be there to save Mattie and she keeps digging a deeper and deeper hole for herself with the Voynich. It's a hole they may actually bury her in if she's not careful. This was a completely new and different twist on vamps. I loved that about it. It's characters are great, the city is dark and gritty, and the situations are well described. The tension between Mattie and Graham builds and builds throughout the book till you want to explode with them. I love that a Reaper and a Vampire somehow find love with each other, I can't wait to see if she can survive herself long enough to see if there can be something of substance between the two characters. He is going against the rules as well. We shall see, hoping there is a sequel coming. Sexual situations make this a New Adult book, would not recommend for ages under 17. Loved it!

Totally different and unique! Mattie our main character seems like a "normal" girl. Normal teenage problems - hating on Mom. Her Mom happens to be a drunk. Hating on her life and drama. This is not the case.. She is different, she is a vampire. One night things come to a head, she takes off on foot into town. Go figure things cannot get better for our girl, nope enter one guy that makes you go whoa.... One little snag. He is a reaper. As in the "grim" kind of reaper. Mattie is done and she is out. Off she goes to the city of Solace. She wants the "daylight" potion. This only is given out by the Voynich Vampires. This is where things get interesting... Mattie does not play by the rules. She is not that girl, Mattie has moxie. She is chucked full of it! Just when things seem the darkest enter one hot reaper once again! I loved Graham! He and Mattie are off the charts full of tension and hubba hubba! The good kind too:-)Mattie digs holes even a reaper might not be able to dig her out of... Can a vamp and reaper find love? Will they get together? Will Mattie even make it that long? Two rule breakers - bending the rules. This book was different and given us a new style vamp story. That is hard to do today, we have a lot of vamps out there. I really enjoyed it! Great fun different paranormal read. Has a bit of sexy fun too, so I would say 17 and over please. Karli Rush, are we going to have more Graham time? Please and thank you. ❤

Daylight by Karli Rush is a supernatural story that mixes together vampires, the Grim Reaper, love, and a serum that allows vampires to go out in the daylight. It is an unusual story, but it works. Mattie is a vampire who is strangely attracted to Graham, the Grim Reaper. When she kisses Graham at a Halloween party, they discover each others secret. Mattie leaves town to go to Solace, a city for vampires, and find the Daylight serum. Mattie has some run-ins with the ruling vampire elite (who control the Daylight serum) but Graham comes to her rescue. Can a vampire and a reaper find love together? Can they take on the vampire elite? Graham and Mattie are great characters and they have definite chemistry. The interactions between them are H-O-T. I loved how sarcastic Mattie was, although she cursed a lot and it wasn’t always necessary. Graham was a total alpha male and super sexy. The writing was fast paced and the story concept was interesting. There were a few grammar mistakes, but they didn’t distract from the story. I noticed them but I was able to ignore them. The story does have some explicit sex scenes between Mattie and Graham and it also has some violence (these are not friendly vampires – they are more the rip your throat out kind), so it is definitely not intended for readers under 18.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I was pleasantly surprised by this story. Daylight introduces you to Mattie a seemingly young lady with typical angst. Until you realize she’s a modern day vampire with a penchant for Grim Reapers. Enter Graham. Bad boy with a soft spot for Mattie. He’s an intriguing character that I hope to learn more about in future installments.Mattie leaves small town life and her mother behind for dreams of Daylight and the big city. When she gets there, she’s introduced to a completely new world. And it’s not all sunshine and roses as one would expect. Here we are introduced to the Elite Vampires, their seedy environs and archaic evil. Mattie has some very tough lessons to learn and finds her soul mate along the way. Who would’ve thought the Grim Reaper could be a knight in shining armor? This book was an excellent twist on the vampire genre. The worlds were well developed and the characters gritty and intriguing. The writing was well paced and the scenes deliciously hot!Karli Rush was a new author for me and I look forward to reading her other works.

Daylight isn't your average vampire story, in fact the author has created this entire new world for vampires dealing with elders and different laws, so much so detail that it seems real. I felt as though I could live in this new world that the author has created so beautifully. Of course, I'd be a willing sacrifice for the vampires, they can drink my blood anytime. ;) A quote I found myself thinking while reading the book was "You know you're a vampire when your best friend is death."Think about that for a minute because it really seems to sum up some of the story... and when death meets vampire it gets steamy! This book had wonderful detailed characters, settings, and a totally unique plot line. I think the only thing bad about this book is that's its over... and no it wasn't a short story, it was a complete story and I totally want to read more of the awesome characters. I would highly recommend this story to anyone who loves supernatural and paranormal stories. This one is ten stars!

If you are looking for a Twilight vampire story then you have come to the wrong place, you will not find a glittering vampire here. Please DON'T take that the wrong way because I absolutely love Twilight. This vampire story is completely different and is not written for a younger audience. This story follows a young female vampire named Mattie. Mattie is on a quest for a serum that allows vampires to walk in daylight. Her journey finds her in a relationship with Death. He goes by the name Graham. I am not even sure how to describe their relationship, other than need. They have this need for each other, this gravity and drawing force for one another. The book takes many twists and turns and leaves you completely hanging with Mattie and Graham having the recipe for Daylight, and a whole lot of other vampires wanting it. I can't wait to pick up the second book.

Mattie is a young Vampire, Graham is something else. When they finally meet at a party, it leaves both wanting more. Yet Mattie has had it, her Mommy Dearest is a Alcoholic and not up for mom of the year.Mattie sets out for a town she has heard of that has a Daywalking serum and is full of Vampires. While all along wishing she could see Graham. She is in for more then she bargained for. Set up as an escort Mattie not one to do what is expected of her. Mattie is learning that the Vampires are not as they would seem. This Story is so different from all those others. I loved it! The entire book was a fast paced couldn't put down, page turning affair. The characters were a breathe of fresh air. I don't want to give to much away or I could go on and on.Karli Rush has written another chart topper!5 STARSPatches

“Velcome to the party, I vish you a vonderful time tonight.”This book would be a great gift for any paranormal fan, or for anyone who wants to lose themselves in a wicked love story. I enjoyed Karli’s writing style; her story telling is so well constructed with just enough romance, adventure and mystery to keep the reader attached to the story. The characters were so captivating and interesting that I quickly became invested in the story, feeling like I was right there with them. I really loved reading about this new world Karli created! This was one fun and exciting read with a fresh take in the paranormal world. The ending will make readers eager to check for the next installment!

This is the first book I have read by Karli Rush and I have found another author that I will continue reading books from. Meet Matti who I really enjoyed. She has a "Take no crap from anyone" attitude! She's a teenager who has been turned into a vampire. She miss's walking in the sunlight and goes on a hunt for a serum that let's you walk around in the sunlight and she has had it once and wants it again!. She is in love with a hot wet dream kind of guy which would be great but he is the Grim Reaper. This combination makes for very steamy scenes and great humor between the both of them. I will add this book to my collection of vampire books. Can't wait for the next one!.

This definitely is a different vampire love story. I love how Mattie is the type that don't give a damnable and is certainly not gonna let anyone push her around. Even if he is a Monarch of the vampire city. Then you have Graham...ahhhh Graham. I can only hope to die in the presence of that. I love how this story was well written and thought out. The characters were strong and made you pull for them. I do hope to see more from this story. And I know there is more coming from this talented author.

I could not set this book down!! When I reached the end I couldn't believe it was over I could of read about Mattie and Graham for a few more days yet maybe even longer. Everyone in their life time has that someone who just sets their blood on fire to even be in the same room with and in this case Mattie does that to Graham just as much as he does that to her. Such an odd pair to get together but it works something fierce and the sec gets pretty hot and steamy. I would read this again and reccomend it to my friends (only the ones over 18 of course! (: ) Mrs. Rush I cannot wait to read more!

It wad a fun twist on the death and a vampire... It also takes it to a new vampire romance, but not in the way you would think. I enjoyed reading it i just wish there was more detail in how everything looked and what the main characters were feeling. Thank you Karli Rush for giving me the chance to read your book, if you ever just want someone to read and review your stories i am always in nee of books

I was asked to ready Karli Rush's novel Daylight for an honest review.Summary:Mattie is a young vamp who shortly after being turned was given a serum allowing her walk in the daylight. After leaving home, she is on a mission make it to Solace, a vampire city, in order to get more of the serum. Along the way she is plagued by thoughts of the sexy Graham who just happens to have his own secrets.Liked:Vampire books have been done, but toss in Graham's secret and it becomes something original. Of all the paranormal/ urban fantasy, I've never read one with that kind of character (trying not to give any spoilers)The idea that there was a serum allowing vamps to walk in the sun had great potential!Got to read from multiple POV - both from Mattie's & Graham's.(I personally like this)Love scenes were decent without being over the top.critique:The characters were not as well developed as I would have liked. Mattie acts as if she is this angsty goth teen pissed off at the world. Even when her life is threatened & she is tortured, everything out of her mouth is dripping with sarcasm. She's been a vamp for a few decades - shouldn't she have grown up a bit by now? There was no growth, no change, no lesson learned for her throughout the story. Neither Mattie or Graham have any redeeming qualities about them. In fact, I know very little about Graham aside from he keeps disappearing and popping back in at random times. I felt the plot was all over the place. She wanted the serum, but didn't go into why. The vamp who became like her BFF when she got to Solace was kinda in on some plot against Mattie, I think. (nothing more was said about this) The leaders in Solace kept putting Mattie in a job she CLEARLY was not going to be good at, then punished her, only to put her right back in the job she failed at doing in the first place. This became a big focal point. Graham would swoop in a for a bit, then suddenly be gone without explanation. I just felt like there was no set rising action leading to a climax; there was no one set goal to be accomplished, so if the goal was reached, I wasn't sure. Midway through the story the book suddenly shifted to erotica. The scenes were good, but I felt like I was suddenly reading a different book for that whole section. Overall, I wasn't as pleased as I wanted to be with this book. The idea for the two paranormal characters hooking up had great potential, but it just didn't hit

Free book for honest review. juliesbookreview.blogspot.com Mattie is a vampire. She is young and gets around with her young friends. All she wants is to go to a party. Her "Mother", or creator has issues and Mattie is about done with her. When she finally gets to the party she meets Graham. He is different and she is intensely drawn to him. After a unusual encounter, she makes the decision to leave. Going to the town of Solace looking for a drug called Daylight, which will allow Mattie to not burn in the sun, and start her new life. The town is full of twits, turns and a surprise or two. This is a book 1 in a series. Keep that in mind when reading the story. Mattie is a young vamp who is going out on her own. She is longing for a boy she can't find and wanting the daylight drug. She knows she can find it in the town of Solace. A vamp ran town. The story is different than your usual vampire love story books. It is a little slow in the beginning (the set-up) but stay with it. It definitely picked up as the story unfolds. I hope as the series continues we learn more about Graham and there relationship. Overall a good story but hoping for more in book 2.4starsJulie Ramsey

I don’t even know where to start this review. I think this book could have been great but it was rushed. There was absolutely no character development. Why on earth would these two be infatuated with each other? There is a brief moment where Graham explains his pull towards Mattie and that’s it. It’s so brief that it’s almost forgettable. I wish that the characters would have built more of a relationship. That way I could have justified their attraction towards one another. I have no problem with fast paced books but this had too many holes for me. The villain wasn’t vile enough for me. If you’re gonna be evil, you gotta play the part.It had a lot going on and not enough follow through. Yes, she went to Solace to find this Daylight serum. What I would have loved to know was where is comes from? How do they make it? You know, the history of it. It was lacking in the world building department. There were only two things I liked about this book… the steamy scenes and her sassy attitude. That’s it. I really wish there was 100 or more pages added to make it phenomenal. I wanted to love it, I really did. It kept my attention enough to finish it but I wanted so much more.

this book was odd. I liked the premise but there was something missing that I just cant put my finger on. it felt rushed but it didn't, needed more back story but it didn't. I'm undecided if I will read the next one.
