There is nothing to her life but marking, teaching and going for tea with friends. When one of her friends tells her that she knows of a Nyal food that matches coffee on the molecular level, Hydra has to try it out.The diner where the forty-seven-ingredient soup is prepared is a favourite haunt of the Guardians of Deyfell 4, four super-beings who risk their lives on a daily basis. Hydra doesn’t care, she just wants her coffee doppelganger.Starburn notices the strange alien who defies his teammate’s efforts to clear the diner. She has an easy smile and a relaxed attitude that he has not experienced since he became a Guardian. To his surprise she doesn’t know who they are and the ability to introduce himself without the weight of his actions as Guardian is so refreshing, he looks forward to speaking to her again. When the next opportunity proves that she is still as guileless as he thought at first glance, he makes up his mind to keep her and treasure the gentle heart that she shows to one and all. It’s a simple matter to have a teammate bring her to the base, and once she is there, there is no way home....

3 stars.Back to the Nyal Empire and the Guardians in this installment. I have to say that these "Terrans" always seem so accepting about being kidnapped and imprisoned by Aliens.
More 2.5...not a fan of kidnapping brides...but it the Nyal Empirium
Ok, can I just say--a 47 bean soup that tastes like coffee? On an alien world yet? What isn't to like, right?
Tongue in cheek fantasy read featuring super hero type aliens, Guardians, who save worlds and handle crisis situations but keep their actual identity a secret. One of these Guardians, Starburn, meets the heroine of the book, Hydra, who has a weakness for good old Earth coffee and isn't about to let anyone stand in her way when she finds a place that serves it. Instant attraction results when these two discover they are compatible and Starburn's peer group help him abduct Hydra to their secretive home base. A fun read that has includes several erotic scenes between Starburn and Hydra. There is a twist to the story that really didn't surprise me too much but still a quick read that goes into the inner relationship of superheros that I enjoyed.
This is a sweet romance with a superhero hero who falls in love with the heroine because she doesn't fawn all over him.The heroine has a great personality and the fact that she has a best friend is a welcome change to lonely heroines.
