This World Atlas includes both tropical and temperate fishes. Depending on the size and popularity of the groups or families, introductions to these provide general information, distribution and habitat, number of species, interesting facts on behavior and aquarium suitability. For ardent fish watchers, this is a valuable back-up for identification since it adds photos for so many species, often with different lighting, morphs or angles which can help ID. But is is difficult to use as a primary source, since it is confusingly laid out, overwhelmed with its own pictures, and offers almost nothing in terms of descriptive characteristics. It's also far too heavy to take on a typical holiday diving trip.
