The famous Brooke's Betting Book gave birth to The Wooing Spectacular of 1819, which causes 2 yummy childhood adversities to DUKE it out for Lady Gabby!Lady Gabrielle (Gabby) Forest has loved Anthony for as long as she can remember & he has always called her, his special Lady Bug! She spend her childhood, as the unofficial tag-a-long for her 3 brothers & Anthony's MISadventures. He has always been part of Forest clan for holidays & the long summers. Gabby always wanted him to see her as a woman, but he married another, as Gabby watched & cried her heart out. All she ever wanted was to be his everything!Anthony Keaton, Earl of Ellis, was always felt alone in his own family, but he fit into the large & kooky Forest clan since the first day he walked in. Their showered him with unconditional love & Gabby always held a special place in his heart. After his father & older brother died, he became a young Earl, with a useless drunken mom. His mom died a few years later & Anthony then devastated Gabby's world by marring Camilla. Anthony realized his mistake, when Camilla was unfaithful & only cared for herself, then she died giving birth to her lover's baby.Flash forward 8 years & Anthony semi-compromises Gabby, so he proposed because he wanted her to be forever his. They agree to keep it secret until Easter in London, but Gabby had some small & huge problems with their so called plan, like no sign of Anthony, no letters about where he is & it has been 4 long months & not 1 word. Gabby decides to go back on the hubby hunt because she must marry soon, so her sisters can have their own coming out, to make up for her causing her Father's heart go out & for disappointing her mom with her unladylike ways. What she doesn't know is that Anthony went to collect his daughter, Annabelle, & Miss Teague (her aunt) & bring them back to London. Anthony, the idiot, goes to his club, instead going directly to Gabby's, learns his rival, Sebastian, is wooing his fiancée, bets are being place about their possible engagement & he flees to the nightly ball to get some answers! Thus begins the Wooing Fest of 1819 for the hand of the sassy, giving & delicious Lady Gabby. Sebastian & Anthony go toe-to-toe to win her, with flowers, sexy dances & Rotten Row rides. Males are so territorial, so punches are thrown, passionate lip lock are unleashed & some badly worded proposals go flying. Anthony gets some unaccepted help from Gabby's PITA (Pain in the A$$) sisters' scheming ways & let's not forget the 2 old & meddling men, Corby & Ledbery, who start the betting war on this outrageous courtship. Will Gabby follow her heart? Can Anthony win back Gabby from his rival? What if Sebastian wins her heart? Can Anthony still be part of the loving Forest clan? Will Annabelle ever not be afraid of her daddy? This is book #1 of the Rival Rogues series & I must say that Ms. Grace just keeps getting more hilarious & entertaining with each book. Gabby wasn't the typical uppity Duke's sisters because she wore her heart on the outside for all to see & sometimes abuse. Gabby blamed herself for everything that went wrong with her family. To me, she was a GIVER & she had to learn to TAKE, what she truly wanted. Anthony was a fierce protector, at heart, of all he loved ones. He was so worried about how to be a dad to his daughter, losing his Lady Bug & even the Forest clan's unconditional love while wooing the stubborn Gabby. I love it when the hero falls for his friend's sister & I call this the FORBIDDEN FRUIT SYNDROME because males always CRAVE what they can't have. Ms. Grace also rounded up her kooky & original cast from her Beau Monde Bachelor series into this book. It was like kicking back, having a tea party with the girls & a good stiff brandy with the boys! Only Ms. Grace could make 2 grumpy old men like Corby & Ledbery into Fairy Godgrumpies & give them PIXIE POWER without adult supervision! I laughing so hard that I almost peeing my panties (I love Depends) with all her witty, flamboyant goofiness running amuck. Ms. Grace hooked me from page 1, made me hyperventilate with laughter, cheering for Team Anthony, booing Team Loser (sorry Sebastian) & made me fall back in love with returning characters. So without further ado, I must give Ms. Grace my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes for this rollercoaster MISadventures ride!

Posted on What I'm ReadingI have finally got around to reading One Rogue Too Many by Samantha Grace. Yes, this has been sitting on my shelf for a few months. Here's the reason why: I have a hard time dealing with love triangles. Seriously, I don't like them. Granted One Rogue Too Many isn't a love triangle per se, but it might come off as one. Some might say it is cause you have two guys vying for one girls attention. However, I look at love triangles more like two guys liking the same girl, and the girl has the same feelings for both guys. Which make it hard for the girl to make up her mind. Now that's my definition of a love triangle. Now Gabby isn't really in love with Baron Sebastian Thorne, she just believes they would suit well. So, Sebastian is going to pursue her, but he has ulterior motives. Come on he just wants to needle Ellis with the fact that he could get Gabby. Now Anthony and Gabby have come to an understanding or so he thought when he got back to town. Of course Thorne has to needle Anthony Of course, Anthony has to prove to Gabby he's the man for her. However, there are other people that wreaking havoc on his love life other than Thorne. So, you can see why I would have problems plowing through this story. Granted Gabby has to live with the decision and not me, but it can be rough on the reader. However, I finally sat down to read One Rogue Too Many. Yes, I did have an anxious feeling throughout the book until Gabby made the final decision. Trust me that gave me heart palpitation. There were times I wanted to scream "NO, don't do it." Even her brothers were questioning her. I felt bad for Anthony cause he's just had such a cruddy situation you wanted to cheer him on. I kind of felt bad for Thorne. Okay that's an outright lie. He does some pretty bad things that almost sacrificed Gabby's happiness. It wasn't intentional, but it was pretty rotten. Overall, I did enjoy One Rogue Too Many even though I wanted to shake Gabby at times. I loved the last few chapters, cause it made everything right. Now I need to check on Thorne as he licks his wounds. Copy provided by Sourcebooks via NetGalley (I did end up buying the book)

I was a bit torn when it came to this book, I liked it, until the middle part and there I just got really really mad. Honestly. This was one of the most stupid girls ever! You foolish, foolish girl (I even heart Knigthley in my head when I read the stupid part.) Instead of asking she does something really idiotic which could destroy her life, cos she is an idiot. I know it's for the drama but I made me hate her. She made both Anthony (who loved her) miserable and she made her other suitor miserable in the end too. use your head girl, that is why it's there. *mutters*Anyway, up to that it was good. Gabby loved Anthony and had for years. But then he went away, he should just have told her everything, but I got why he did not. And she should have trusted him. Then in came Sebastian who courted her so his sister could come out in society again. gabby is a Duke's daughter and good to have on your side. So we have 2 men angry at each other while both courting her, and she does love only Anthony. Then came the arghhh part and I just got upset. Stupid people does that too me. But when it was over I moved on cos we still had some drama to go through and I felt better cos most were happy. And Sebastian who I did not like at first, well I hope he finds true love soon. He deserves it.

h: Lady GabrielleH: Anthony Keaton, Earl of EllisSo Gabby has been in love with Anthony since she was a little girl. But he has always seen her a his friends young sister. I really liked this book it kept me guessing till the end. I loved all the tension between the h & H. I belive that the best part. I thought Gabby family was sweet too. They really loved her and let her make her own decision, which was rare for this era. I thought Anthony was sweet but i believe if he loved Gabby the was he did he should of came clean from the start and avoided lots of heartache and problems. But hen the book wouldn't have been to juicey :)This is a book about Gabby finally getting the man she always wants then finding out some bad news from the other man Baron Sebastian Thorne about him. Sebastian and anthony have be competing for as long as they have been friends or friend/enemies. I thought Sebastian was a good guy too just mislead. I can't wait to see his story ans Gabby sister stories. I thought this was a sweet romance. Mrs. Samantha Grace has trapped me with this book now i will have to read the next to see about sebastian and Gabbys sisters.....Can't wait!!!!! Loved It!!!

Review to come soon... I enjoyed it a lot. :)I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.Samantha Grace is a relatively new author to me. I found her Beau Monde series over the spring and really enjoyed her writing. When I was lucky to receive an ARC copy on her newest book One Rogue Too Many I jumped on the chance to read it for an honest review. One woman with two men fighting for her- what’s not to love?Any story that opens up with a young lady falling in love with her brothers best friend is going to be a story full of some good drama. AND when you add the boy using a pet name like Lady Bug your heart has to melt a little. I was hooked from the first page reading the sincere endearment, Lady Bug. Anthony and Gabby are a great match. What is interesting is that both of them know and don’t deny their connection, however, sometimes there are factors that always get in the way of any great love.Lady Gabrielle Forest is an artist. She sees life through an artists eyes. She is beautiful, kind with a keen mind. Gabby doesn’t sit and watch things happens she takes thing into her own hands, well, within reason of course. She has loved Anthony Keaton, Lord Ellis for her whole life. She knows he is her one true love in this world but his lack of communication and secrecy will question Anthony’s love for her. When another charming gentleman begins to throw his hat in the ring for Gabby’s attention she might reconsider the idea of her beloved Anthony as Lord Thorne, Sebastian is handsome and very communicative and safe. She knows Lord Thorne could never hurt her heart as Anthony has. The choice is hers, who will she choose?Anthony Keaton, Lord Ellis is an Earle with not a lot of family. Anthony has spent most of his time growing up with Lady Gabrielle Forest family. Her brothers are his best friends. From a very young age he has known that Gabby was someone special and more than the sister to his best friends. They have had a special bond for years. However, age difference and time isn’t always on ones side and decisions must be made. Though, sometimes second chances are given. When Anthony gets a second chance to have the wife he has longed for he is eager to get Gabby and make her his. But where Gabby is concern things aren’t always so easy and there are a few hiccups along the way. One hiccup is the handsome and charming Lord Thorne, Sebastian and he will wager and do anything to win Gabby’s hand before Anthony can. Both Anthony and Sebastian have had a love-hate friendship over the years but it comes to ahead when Gabby is involved. However, when secrets are brought to light Anthony could lose Gabby to Sebastian. There are so many things I loved about this story. Right up front you learn that Anthony and Gabby love one another and it’s not a secret. Sure, you think if they love each other why aren’t they together? Well…if it was that easy there wouldn’t be story, right!? This story has a fabulous cast of characters. Gabby’s family is awesome and her younger twin sisters steal some scenes. Oh and her brothers are just wonderful. If I had older brothers I would want them to be like hers. The tension between Anthony and Sebastian add a lot of depth to the story. Also, there is a back story to Sebastian I hope Ms. Grace explores and write’s a book about. The secrets in this story lead to some very interesting twist that you don’t see coming. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a page turner and fun. This looks to be a promising series and I look forward to the following books.Pre-order this book on Amazon. It's out January 7, 2014.

Anthony Keaton, Earl of Ellis, was the spare; he was not supposed to inherit. His mom has never been demonstrative and has gone so far as to call him the thief of happiness. He is lost, alone and has felt rejected for a long time. Anthony has known Lady Gabrielle all her life and has loved her for that long. But he bungles things by losing her trust and must woo her back. So this is Anthony’s plan: Things one must do for Love: 1) Woo your woman back- 2) Meet her in secluded alcoves- 3) Get in fights with your competition- 4) Get in fights with her brothers- 5) Take desperate measure when out of any other options.Lady Gabrielle, Lady Bug (Anthony’s affectionate nickname for her), has loved Anthony her whole life. She has given him her heart many times and her returns it bruised and trampled. She feels betrayed by Anthony, responsible for her father’s death, responsible for her mother’s unhappiness and for keeping her sisters from their come out’s. She has wanted her marriage to have the love she has for Anthony, but decides to settle for convenience.I liked these flawed and unsure characters right away. Gabby is endearing and leads Anthony on a merry chase. They bring out the best in each other. Who doesn't like the idea of having two handsome men vying for your heart and hand? The family protectiveness and support for Gabby was heartwarming. This was a charming book and I am looking for more by Ms. Grace.I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I didn't like most of the book (like 70% of it). I didn't know if I hate Sebestian or I love him. Even if I don't like it I can understand his motives and if I was in his place I would have done most of the things he did. Katie and Liz were lovely characters and they were very supportive. The same could be said for all of Gabbys family. I am hoping that the twins will get their own story or at least a happily ever after. The third and final thing I loved about this book was Anthony and Annabell's relationship. That was the best part of the book.Gabby was a fool and a really annoying character. She gets the award for the work character. That triangle and her choices were pissing me off. Her actions were a contrast to her words and I hate that. If I wasn't hoping for a happy end for Anthony, I wouldn't have minded seeing her marrying someone else. But for Anthony she is the one. I will give her a few points for making things better in the end.

DNF. I JUST CAN'T CONTINUE. EVERYTHING IS SO BORING. The main character is dull and lifeless. She's not compelling or interesting enough to carry this character driven story. I also don't buy the main character's reasons to stay away from the guy she truly has feelings for; so what if he did something when he was a young kid or teenager? That doesn't mean he's the same person. Not even mentioning the worst of it, that love triangle--which isn't really a love triangle--you already know who she's going to pick, but it keeps getting dragged out. It's annoying because it's obviously trying to keep the story going, but there's nothing to work with. There's no real plot. If I'm practically halfway in and I'm struggling reading it, I'm not going to finish it.

Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me. I liked it for about the first quarter. Then, a twist occurred that I didn't like at all and I got annoyed. I tried to read on, but, after that, I just couldn't do it. I'm sorry to say that I didn't like One Rogue Too Many at all. It just wasn't my kind of book. I know others liked it, but it wasn't for me.

WELL DONE.Just when you think it is going to be a simple love story, another twist is introduced. There is some angst, but not over-done. I would read more from this author.I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Samantha Grace brings readers the first novel in a new historical romance series. The Rival Rogue's series will feature two leading men who have known each other for years and have made it a game to best each other in any kind of competition. In One Rogue Too Many that competition ends up being Lady Gabrielle Forest. Readers will enjoy Grace's ability to write compelling and interesting characters who are three dimensional and easy to relate to. Grace's attention to detail is seen in everything from the cut of the men's suits to the pet name that Anthony has for Gabby. This book is a feast for the senses and a great happy-ever-after tale. What I liked: One of the first things that appealed to me about this book was the somewhat friendly rivalry between Anthony and Sebastian that started many years before the story begins. Grace did a great job of adding a lot of back story for these two characters and creating a sense of a love-hate relationship that was needed for the conflict element of this story. They were constantly trying to one-up each other and that's essentially where the idea for the entire series comes from. Can Sebastian get one over on Anthony by marrying the woman Anthony is in love with?I also liked the fact that it is obvious from the beginning of the book where Gabrielle's heart lies. She loves Anthony without question and has since she was a child. But life has a way of getting in the way sometimes and their timing was just way off in the beginning. Anthony was the best friend of her brothers, he was older, had some obligations that he didn't make readily known to Gabby and just basically screwed up and lost her trust. How realistic does that sound? I know, right! When Anthony finally gets his ducks in a row he finds that Sebastian has moved in for the kill himself. He needs Gabby for more than one reason, and it's an added bonus that he will be taking her from Anthony. All three of the main characters are so well written that readers will be reminded of this person or that person they knew that did that very same thing. It might be historical romance, but it's definitely a scene out of any romantic movie of today. Boy and Girl meet, become friends, fall in love, fall out of love and eventually fall back in. However, what sets this one a part from the masses is the character development over the course of the entire book. At the end each character has evolved and changed so much that readers will find the ending very satisfying and just right. Sebastian definitely deserves his own book. Grace showed readers what he wanted and what he had to offer in this title, but there was just no way he could have won out against true love. I was glad that Grace allowed readers to see him as a true rival, but not for the heroine of this one. I can't wait to see where Grace takes his character. I think I liked him best out of all three leads. The love triangle angle in the story was well done and felt both compelling and believable. What I didn't like:There were some moments in this one where I really wanted to give the heroine a good shake. Now I know that she had to remain staunch in belief that she could not trust Anthony for the entire story to work, but it was a bit frustrating watching Gabby ignore Anthony's efforts to explain himself and why he didn't come back when he said he would. Bottom Line: That bit of criticism was certainly not enough to hinder me or any other reader from loving this book. It was great love story and the hero and heroine were certainly made for each other. The addition of a second hero made for a lot of drama and was a brilliant plot device.

I received an ARC through NetGalley. One Rogue Too Many is so cute, and fun, and sweet, and everything I adore about Historical Romance. Despite the title and the description, the relationship is not a love triangle exactly. Gabby has been in love with Anthony Keaton since she was a teenager, and they were, in fact, almost engaged at one point. However, he was married to someone else, but has returned to her after his wife died in child birth. Well, Gabby didn't wait for him and is being courted by the baron, Sebastian Thorne. She doesn't love him, or particularly like him, but she feels a sense of duty to her sisters who are awaiting their coming outs. Anthony is determined to win Gabby back, but the baron is not a man who likes to lose. Let the games begin!I loved the rivalry between Anthony and Sebastian! The men in town also enjoy it and regularly place bets on things such as who will throw the first punch, and who will eventually woo Gabby. Her two suitors couldn't be more different. Anthony is truly in love with her, and her with him, but she finds him unreliable. I mean, he never showed up to ask her brother for his blessing! Sebastian, on the other hand, always keeps his word and promises Gabby a comfortable life even if she doesn't love him...yet. Sebastian is also in it for the competition, and to help his family, while Anthony just wants the woman who he almost lost, twice. Anthony is desperate to prove himself to Gabby, but Sebastian plays dirty and will not give up!It's quite obvious from the beginning that Gabby is going to end up with Anthony, but it was still fun to witness how they'd get there. She even encourages their competition a little with small tasks! There are plenty of bumps along the way, and I actually loved Anthony's plan to get her away from Sebastian near the end. It's not all his idea though. He gets some help from a few people who love Gabby, too.One Rogue Too Many also has a side plot concerning Anthony's daughter. We learn that his wife had an affair, took off to Wales, gave birth, then died. Her lover dropped the baby off with his sister and took off. Anthony went searching for his daughter, which is why he didn't make his appointment with Gabby's brother. Even though she's not technically his, Anthony loves her like his own. Too bad she seems to be terrified of him, and there's some rumors going around about her. This was all interesting in the main part of the book, since the rumors interfere with Gabby and Anthony's relationship, but then it drags a bit in the last few chapters. I still liked it though. One Rogue Too Many was a delight to read! It was funny, sweet, and sexy. Gabby and Anthony are great together, and I loved how both of them were determined to do the right thing in spite of their own happiness. It made for a very entertaining read. But I do have to wonder what happened to Thorne?Read more of my reviews at Pinkindle Reads & Reviews.

Review Copy Provided by Publisher via Netgalley for Honest ReviewIf you are looking for a quick light read, full of cheesy romance then I recommend I just finished One Rouge Too Many by Samantha Grace. This book is about a Lady Gabrielle who has always been in love with brothers’ friend Lord Ellis. After a night of passion it seems things are looking up because the Lord proposes to Lady Gabby only to leave for four months without a word. Since their betrothal was a secret Lady Gabrielle lets herself start being courted by Lord Ellis’s rival Lord Thorne. Now Lord Ellis is back in town and must use all the wooing powers he possesses to convince Lady Gabby that he is the man she must marry. When I heard what this book was about I knew I wanted to read it because I am sucker for a good historical romance. I liked this book this book for the most part. I really liked the beginning because I liked the chemistry between Lord Ellis and Lady Gaby that steamed up the pages from the get go. I could tell that Lord Ellis really had the hots for Lady Gaby and I liked it. I thought that it was sweet and funny the depths of humiliation we was willing to put himself through to win the hand of his ladylove. I could tell that both them had been carrying a torch for the other for a long time but were too stupid and too young that they couldn’t get it right. Sometimes the timing is just off and one must be patient for love to come back around with that special someone. By the middle of the story it had taken a turn so out there that I wanted to shake Lady Gaby and yell at her to stop being such a ninny. She gets in a caught in a kiss by her mother and her mother’s friend and in her mind now she must marry that man. Only that man is not Lord Ellis he is the other man chasing after her Lord Thorne. In mind she blames herself for her father’s death and all the unhappiness it caused her mother so she put aside her own happiness and prepares to walk down the aisle with wrong man. Lord Ellis is unhappy and Lady Gabby is unhappy all because she too dimwitted to believe that her that mother does not blame her and just wants her to happy. I understand there must be some kind of conflict but come on Lady Gabby don’t be so dimwitted. By the end of the book it redeems itself and once again my faith is restored in historical romance novels is restored because it ends with a happily ever after. I liked the ending and epilogue they were very sweet. I liked that by then both Lord Ellis and Lady Gabby have put away the past and are now able to focus on the present together. I give One Rouge Too Many three laser pistols because it was very cute, cheesy, romantic, and sexy; but I felt that middle of book lagged a bit.

Reviewed for Book SoulmatesLady Gabrielle Forest is secretly betrothed to Anthony Keaton, Earl of Ellis. They grew up together, and he is her brother Drew’s best friend. Gabby has always had feelings for him. Lately, Anthony has been in Wales, but Gabby does not know the true reason for his absence and isn’t quite sure if she can trust him. Anthony isn’t yet ready to reveal all of the secrets of his past, including his first wife’s betrayal and the true father of their child, Annabelle, who is now being raised by an aunt. To make matters worse, Gabby is given false information about Anthony, which makes her question his integrity and trustworthiness.Baron Sebastian Thorne has been competing with Anthony since childhood. He has set his sights on Gabby and decided that he will win her heart. Lords Corby and Ledbery bet on how long it will take Thorne to woo Gabby and steal her away from Anthony. When Anthony discovers that Gabby has been seen on a carriage ride and dancing with Thorne, he doesn’t believe it. Deep down, Gabby knows her heart belongs to Anthony, but she also feels inexplicably drawn to Thorne, who is keeping secrets of his own. Both men must prove their love to her and try to win her hand in marriage. One Rogue Too Many was an entertaining read, but I thought the competition to woo Gabby started off a bit silly (for example, the men were both challenged to write her a sonnet). And some of the events (I won’t spoil them!) seemed kind of far-fetched, and I found it hard to believe that the conflicts that arose would be resolved so easily and without scandal. At times I was frustrated with all of the main characters because their lack of communication led to misunderstandings and incorrect assumptions. Being open and honest would have save them all a lot of heartache and trouble! I really like when romances develop between people who were friends first, so that was a fun aspect of this book. There was a flashback at the beginning to when Gabby and Anthony were younger. I wish there had been a few more of those included to get a glimpse into their past and why Gabby fell in love with Anthony in the first place! Despite the complaints, I did enjoy reading this fast-paced story, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a light, fun read with not one, but two handsome love interests competing to win the heroine’s heart.

This was fun! It’s been a while since I’ve read an historical romance — and you can say I’ve been spoiled by Tessa Dare and all of her awesome books — but this one had me hooked. I started it during the babe’s naptime on Saturday and finished it during his naptime on Sunday. I’d say that it’s been a long time since I binge read something that fast, but I just did the same thing with Miranda Kenneally’s book this week. Two books in one week!I can always, always count on an historical romance book catching my interest, especially when I want something that’s light and quick, full of intrigue and romance, as well as headstrong (though slightly swoony) women and sexy men. Who wants something too serious on the weekend? While the main character, Gabby, was a little insufferable at times, I did like her as a main character. She did do some really stupid things (Did they not know how to talk about issues back then? Rather than talk, you just live with what you did wrong? Weird.) but a few really smart things. Even though there were times that she irked me, by the end of the book I was so happy for what she had done for her suitor. Plus I loved seeing her interact with her brothers and sisters.Like I said in the title of this post, three is a crowd — especially when it comes to the main men of the book, Ellis and Thorne. It was fun seeing the two compete with one another and I was definitely pulling for one of them. One was a little hard with his softness starting to shine through (he also had a bit of naïveté to him) and the other one was just a bit slimy, but he did have issues from the past to work through, so he was just slightly likeable.Notice how I didn’t mention who was who there? Tricky, tricky …It’s also funny that I love a good book like this since when it comes to YA reading (which I do a lot of) I actually hate love triangles and this one is just so, so obvious. But it’s what I’ve come to expect from love stories like this one. Maybe it’s just the day and age the story takes place, too.At any rate, this was a very fast paced historical romance, perfect for a weekend read. I love that it was fun, but also had some wonderful romance. It might not chalk up to be my favourite of the genre, but it still had me entranced the whole way. And it was the perfect book to cozy up with on this sunny weekend!

The wagers that were placed and the bantering between the two added humor to the story. I can't wait to read Thorne's story to learn his background and what made him into the man that he became. The twists and turns of the story kept me riveted to see what would come next. This is the first book that I have read by Samantha Grace and it definitely won't be my last. With this story Samantha Grace starts her new series with a spin-off of her Beau Monde Bachelors and you really don’t have to worry about not being able to follow this story if you haven’t read the previous four. The story can be read as a stand-alone.Lady Gabby has loved her brother’s best friend Anthony ever since she was a very young girl and she always hoped that his feelings for her were the same, yet as Anthony comes of age, he marries another.Anthony Keaton, Earl of Ellis, was a lonely boy as he was growing up, yet he finds solace and happiness with his best friend’s family. He adored young Gabby and had a special name for her, but being young himself, he never really admitted to deeper feelings for her even to himself. He married young and the marriage wasn’t a happy one. Finally realizing that he’d made a mistake of monumental proportions in not admitting to his feelings for Gabby, he is hell-bent on righting the course of his life by declaring his love for Gabby and walking her down the aisle. However, it looks like he may just be a tad too late as Gabby has had enough of waiting and pining for him as Sebastian Thorne, Anthony’s rival, is set to beat him to it.I have to say that this story had me a bit conflicted because the main characters were not as likable as Ms. Grace’s Beau Monde Bachelors were.No matter how much I wanted to like Gabby, I just couldn’t. She frustrated me to no end. Her inner thoughts were just too childish and that put me off her.As for Anthony, I warmed up to him more as the story developed, yet even his charm wasn’t enough for me to like the way he acted at times. The chemistry between the two was there, even when the two were at odds with one another, yet somehow I wanted the passion to be deeper. In the end, I liked it, but not as much as the previous series. If you like the huge misunderstanding tropes, you probably will love this story.Melanie for b2bComplimentary copy provided by the publisher

One Rogue too many is predicated on that classic sitcom trope: people can’t talk to other people. Pretty much every plot point in this book could be cleared up with a five minute conversation. Since that doesn’t happen we get, instead, a series of admittedly amusing mishaps. Gabrielle Forest promised to wait for Anthony Keaton, earl of Ellis to come back and announce their impeding marriage. She feels like she’s been waiting a lifetime already, because he’s her older brother’s best friend and she’s ben in love with him since she was a little girl. Anthony has asked her to wait until he comes back to tell anyone about their engagement. So she waits. And she waits. And she waits. And the date passes, and there’s no word. No visit, no letter, no nothing, and technically, no engagement. So when her family wants her to start looking at suitors, what can she say? When Anthony rolls back into town with a daughter in tow, he’s ready to pick up where he left off with Gabby and is surprised to find that she’s picked up another serious suitor in his absence. Another has secrets that he’s keeping and his reluctance to tell Gabby why he keeps disappearing makes if hard for him to make a commitment and leaves her other suitor, Thorne, a perfect opening to sow seeds of doubt. As I said at the beginning, the many misfires of this book bring in a lot of the more entertaining elements, but by the end I really wanted to scream. The book really relies on everyone totally failing to have the most basic conversations with each other and frankly, Anthony kind of ends up looking like a little bit of a jerk. I would read another book by this author, but only if it was about Anthony’s rival, who was the most interesting character in the book! Three stars. I was provided with a copy of this book for review.

3 STARS (I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review).Gabby has loved Anthony, her brother's best friend, for as long as she can remember. When they are alone she thinks he may feel for her what she feels for him, but when her brothers appear he becomes aloof. Anthony has already broke Gabby's heart once by marrying another woman. When he becomes a widower he promises Gabby he will marry her but has to go do one thing before he can ask her brothers for her hand in marriage. Feeling abandoned she lets Sebastian, a rogue, charm her into letting him court her. When Anthony finds out Sebastian they begin a wager for Gabby's heart and hand.First of all - while this is a novel in a new series the series is connected with her first series, Beau Monde Bachelor. This novel may reveal some of the plots from her previous novel. Gabby's brothers have their story in that series. I enjoyed this novel but I kept getting this sense of Im missing some of the story due to the fact Grace hints at backstories (as I have said above). I also did not care for Gabby that much. She seemed to create her own problems and then was confused as to why she was in a pickle. Anthony also dragged things out so much I did not blame Gabby for wanting Sebastian for simplicity. I think I will start at the beginning with Samantha Grace and see if I like her first novel any better.

Don't let my 3 stars fool you. Despite it, I am rather uncertain about this story. There is nothing special about it that puts it on par with authors like Lisa Kleypas or Lorraine Heath that invokes emotional responses from the reader.OUR HERO:Frankly I am not endeared to Anthony. If he truly loved Gaby, whom he calls his Lady Bug (a cute nickname really) then he could have waited for her just a year or two before her come out and then he could have married her. Anthony appears rather high-handed thinking that Gaby will always be there for him, he takes her for granted. Also, he doesn't appear to be the most mature of heroes I have ever read at age 26. Everything about him...just didn't seem right OUR HEROINE:Gaby is your average heroine but with a lioness's courage. She has never shied away from the fact that she has loved Anthony all her life and I couldn't help but feel sorry for her when Anthony hurt her twice in her 20 years. I was glad that Sebastian came into her life but unfortunately he is only the incentive for Anthony to WIN Gaby back. I have mixed feelings about this book. I don't love it but I don't hate it. Perhaps it could have been written better, in terms of the way things turned out. But there is a definite HEA.

This was one of those books that frustrated me even though I really liked the story. I liked how feisty Gabby is as well as how much she cares about her family and other people in general. Anthony was not just dreamy but also so loving and concerned for all that he considers family. But as the reader I could see the misunderstandings coming from a mile away. And sometimes those misunderstandings, while driving the story, can be too much for my taste. When I want to take the hero and/or heroine by the shoulders and shake some sense into them and tell them to just talk it out more than a few times in a book I get annoyed. That being said, I still really enjoyed the story between Anthony and Gabby. And I'm glad the author let us know Sebastian's motivation. As much as his character is usually the one the author wants to you dislike, Samantha Grace humanized him and even made him a sympathetic character so he can be used in other stories. The book kept my attention enough for me to read the next in the series when I get a chance.

I love the Rival Rogues series!Regency lovers will adore Samantha Grace's first book One Rogue too Many, the introduction to her new series Rival Rogues. Samantha Grace is a talented storyteller and I can say that she has done it again... this lovely romantic story kept my interest until the end. I loved her three main characters Anthony, Gabrielle and Sebastian. Ever since, she had been very young, the heroine, had always been infatuated by Anthony, but he only sees her as his young sister. Gabrielle is determined to give her heart to the man who will really love her. I cannot divulge which one is my favorite, because I already read In Bed with a Rogue. I'll let you guess which one! You have to read it, to find out! But, let me say, that it's the delightful and sensual story of the beautiful Gabrielle and the two men, who will compete for her attention and love. Which one will win her heart? Will love be in the air again? I can't wait to read her next book The Best of Both Rogues!

An apologetic rogue!Gabby (Lady Gabrielle Forest) had loved Anthony Keaton, the Earl of Ellis, since before she was thirteen.Ah! That first scene where her love and trust is 'crushed and trampled' by an embarrassed, gauche young man she'd called friend. I ached right along with fourteen year old Gabby.Six years later Gabrielle's love isn't dead, yet! Wounded, yes! Trust however is another matter. After all what would you do if the man who finally said he wanted to marry you had hared off without a word and turned up four months with no explanation?Misunderstandings and misinterpreted actions litter the way. Another suitor and a maybe mistress blur the edges. Anthony and Gabrielle are equally responsible as they sabotage their relationship without any help from others. The course of true love is strewn not just with pebbles but with boulders. The road is not just rocky, they have to scale cliffs before matters can be resolved so that we all are content.A NetGalley ARC

3.5 Stars. This was a spin-off of her Beau Monde Bachelors series. It has the oldest Forest daughter, Gabrielle, and the friend of her brothers', Anthony. I wasn't as happy with this one as the last series. I didn't understand why they had to drag out the courtship as long as they did. This would've actually made a better novella, which is saying something considering I usually don't like in-between books or novellas. The story I was most interested in, the relationship between Anthony and his daughter, wasn't even really addressed until the last few chapters. I feel that more could've been done with trying to fit Annabelle into the lives of Gabby and Anthony. I'll still read the next book in the series because I love Samantha Grace and I'm sure the next book will be Sebastian Thorne's. I'd recommend this book, but don't go into it expecting to be knocked out by its greatness. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

One Rogue Too Many was a fun read. Gabby is Luke Forest's sister. We met Luke and Vivian in their story, Lady Vivian Defies a Duke. Gabby has loved Anthony forever, but she has given up hope that he will return to marry her, so she sets herself out onto the marriage mart. The problem is that Anthony's rival, Sebastian Thorne is more than ready to take over for Anthony. Who will win? There really was no contest as Anthony and Gabby really do love each other. It was fun watching Anthony set about properly courting Gabby as he feels she deserves. Of course in all good love stories, there is a big misunderstanding that could have been solved had all of the cards been laid out on the table from the start. But, then we wouldn't have had the great adventure to the border, right? I loved what Anthony did to try to stop Gabby's marriage to Thorne. The thing that melted my heart the most was the way Gabby helped Anthony and Annabelle bond. Very sweet!

I loved this book! There were a lot of misunderstandings between Gabrielle and Anthony, who were childhood friends. Gabby had always loved Anthony, her older brother's best friend. Anthony had married someone else, thinking he wasn't good enough & was too old for Gabby, but now he was a widow. They became secretly betrothed, but then Anthony disappeared without an explanation. Now he comes back with all of his issues settled, thinking things are status quo, but Gabby has begun to doubt him & accepts the attentions & false information about Anthony from Sebastian, who also courts her. There were some heart-breaking moments and some humor throughout the book, but you knew that they loved each other & hoped for things to work out. My favorite line from Gabby to Anthony - "You don't have to be afraid I'm not going to love you back. I have loved you all my life and I'll never stop."

I liked parts of this book, but I think the author had too many ideas to put together and a very messy book came out of it. I was sitting on a train with a friend on our way home to London, and had I been reading this as an actual book and not on my Nook, I would have thrown it when Gabby goes an absolutely ridiculous thing. Insanity. I only finished it because I didn't have anything else new to read, and I just...wanted to see if it could get worse. It didn't, but it just got more frustrating, as the relationship between Anthony and Annabelle and his past with Camilla came to the forefront later on, which would have been a much more satisfying primary storyline with a few tweaks.Just a major disappointment.

The first book in Samantha Grace's new series, Rival Rogues, I read Grace’s enjoyable debut last year, Miss Hillary Schools a Scoundrel, the first in her Beau Monde Bachelor series. I enjoyed it very much, but have not yet read the last three books of that series. This book has ties to that series, so I will definitely have to go back and read the rest before I continue forward. Beau Monde Bachelors told the stories of two of the Forest brothers, Drew and Luke. This story reads like a novel of manners, about a few families who have known each other for many years. There are balls, musicales, and teas and everything expected in London society in the Regency era.For my full review on my historical romance and history blog:
