3.25/5I hate when the books start off strong, but soon begin to drag, and then fail to give me satisfying answers to some of my questions. I must admit I had high hopes for this one, but sadly, I got less than expected. I wouldn’t say it was all that bad because there were some parts that I enjoyed a lot. Let’s just say, at first glance, this book was very promising, but in the end, it just fell short of its mark. When I started reading this, it didn't take me long to get into the groove of the story. The first few chapters got me fascinated and excited to know more about Alerac and Keira and what would happen to them. Unfortunately, somewhere around midway through the second quarter, I started to get bored, and as I read further into the story, I felt the urge to put it down several times. I’m not sure why I almost lost interest in this book. It might be because of the romance between Alerac and Jane (Keira). Honestly, it fell flat and I couldn't feel any chemistry or passion between them at all. However, it was utterly riveting in the suspense part. The intense situations kept me on the edge of my seat and there were many twists and turns which I didn’t see coming. All in all, this was just a mediocre read for me. Despite its flaws and unsatisfying ending, I still recommend this book to PNR and Cynthia Eden’s fans. You’ll probably enjoy it more than I did.

3.5 starsNot bad, but something was missing for me. For some reason, the writing style (sentence structure and style of telling the story) just didn't work for me. I can't recall if the others in the series were different or if I am different.I really liked that the hero was celibate for 200 years, while waiting/looking for the heroine. Wish more authors knew how to write celibate hero. Typically the heroes whore around during separations.

I'm fast becoming a big fan of this author and readily admit it's her paranormal tales that got me hooked but I'm even enjoying her more recent suspense stories . So when checking my kindle I was horrified to realise I've had this little gem sat there just waiting for me to read it, oops but I've rectified my oversight now.Yes this is part of a series but I thought it worked very well as a standalone. Essentially we have Werewolf Alerec finally tracking down the Vampiress Keira that he has been searching for for two hundred years. She sacrificed herself so that her lover Alerac could live but their mutual enemy used dark magic and trickery to really drive a wedge between the couple. Now Keira has no memory of anything before the last few months and calls herself Jane. So when she's virtually kidnapped by the big and ever so scary Alerac naturally she's out of her depth. Faced with his possessive actions, a Werewolf pack that doesn't seem happy to see her oh and let's not forget Vampires trying to kill her what is Keira/Jane to do ? I really liked that as this story progressed Keira /Jane grows so much as a character. She might have started out young and naive but boy does she come out fighting. I never thought she lacked strength or back bone though as right from the start she would do anything to protect Alerec.Alerac is one hot, sexy male ! He's the typical alpha hero that women have fantasised about. One who is protective and sweet, such strong feelings he has for the woman he loves and it brought a smile to my face. Now obviously there's more to it then the couple reuniting and I did briefly mention their enemy Lorcan and he's a thoroughly nasty bad guy with tricks up his sleeve that I didn't expect. Unfortunately Lorcan isn't the only person out to hurt this couple and you know what they say about keeping your enemies closer . Hmm if honest I thought maybe Alerec should have been more on the ball at times but who wouldn't forgive such a passionate fellow? I think I'm right in saying this is the final book in this series which is a shame as this ends with the possibility of another pairing which would have been very interesting. If you enjoy books about Vampires, Werewolves and magic mixed with betrayal and ultimately love then these stories are bound to please.

read my review on Got Fiction? Book BlogI bought this one while I sat in the drop off lane at my kids school. I had a hard time tearing myself from it-I actually had to force myself to drive home so I could read in comfort there! Kiera and Alerac were in love, but the biggest hurdle they have to face is that Kiera is a vampire, a pureblood at that, and Alerac is a werewolf. Natural enemies, Kiera thinks the hardest thing will be overcoming the hatred her kind show Alerac. Boy is she wrong.Alerac was just using Kiera for reasons of his own, to get close to the vampires. He never thought he’d fall for her, even worse, he never thought she’d fall for him. So when he is caught, Kiera tries to save his life. Alerac finally understands love, but will it be too late? Kiera is punished as well as Alerac, only her punishment is to be put in stasis for 200 years, and upon waking, she won’t remember anything. During these 200 years, Alerac becomes one crazy mofo who will stop at nothing to find Kiera. He is finally tipped off to where she is, and when he goes to find her, she runs.Jane Smith is the name Kiera takes for herself. She has no memory past waking in a swamp 6 months ago, and now she’s a waitress in a club. When a tall, dark, and scary man comes straight for her, she freaks. It takes her own kind trying to kill her for Jane to want to go with Alerac, and once she goes with him, she sees how often he protects her, and saves her. Yet, she still doesn’t trust him. Alerac has to realize that he can’t force her to love him again, and he’s got his jerk-face moments. But he also has some sweet moments, and some extra sexy moments. How can he keep Jane with him, and how can he make her remember him? If she doesn’t, will she stay? If she does get her memories back, will she even be able to look at him without remembering his betrayal and the horror of her imprisonment?Another great installment to Cynthia Eden’s Bound series, Bound in Death delivers action, suspense, and a sexy werewolf alpha who never knew how much his mate meant to him until she was gone.

This was a kind of typical Eden book, witches, betrayal etc The hero has been searching for the heroine his soul-mate for ages, she took his punishment. She has forgotten her past and he wants her back.

This was definitely my favourite of the series! It was longer than the rest, which meant more action and romance. I hope this isn't the last one as I'd really like to read Ryan and Zoe's story.

This book is longer than the other books. The story is more fleshed out. The story is intense and action-packed. I just don’t like long separations and 200 years is damn long, that’s why I can’t give it 5 stars. Also, there is no epilogue. It would have helped clarify the HEA since the H/h has been battling conflict after conflict for more than 200 years.

I loved itIt was a bit longer than the other ones and that was actually great because I didn't want it to end. The heroine was extremely likable and I enjoyed watching her character grow. Now Alerac was just pure sin. Definitely one of my favorite heroes in the bound books. The plot was interesting and the villain was great. The book also had a bit of an unpredictable twist which I enjoyed a lot. As for Ryan and Zoe I'm really bummed that they don't have their own book .. I was really interested in their romance and I enjoyed their story parts incredibly.

Amazing! Another great story by Cynthia Eden. Pulled me in and I couldn't stop reading until the last page! This is my favorite so far all the characters had an agenda and you just had to keep reading to find out all the secrets and deals they did 200 years in the making. Loved every single page of this book!!!!

It would've been nicer if the romance were a bit heavier. The hero and heroine were too bland with each other.

Bound in Death is about a forbidden romance between a vampire and werewolf where Keira offered herself as punishment to save the life of her love, Alerac, from being killed. Due to her disobedience, she was sent off to some other part of the world and imprisoned in a box for 200 years until she was freed without a memory. When Alerac realized that he had lost his mate, he spent the rest of the two hundred years searching for her even if he have to leave trails of bodies everywhere to find her.As far as paranormal romance goes, Bound in Death kinda fit into my kind of books I like to read. Despite the female protagonist began as a Mary Sue, she began to learn more about herself, her old life, what happened to her and who her enemies is that she emerged as a quite well rounded character. Alerac on the other hand, two hundred years is a long time to be faithful to a missing girl. Got to say, that kinda tops everything. And the conflict is really good, someone betrayed, trust cautiously gained, rebuilding love from ashes, sacrifices and etc.For a moderately short novel, it does seem ambitious but for a light reading it does even more than that. I didn't even bother to read the whole series but I was able to enjoy it as it is. Besides, its always fun mixing vampire and werewolf romance together.

4 starsSpineless heroine from the beginning. Still spineless throughout the story. Spineless to me anyway even though she turned stronger, braver, and sacrificed herself in the end for her true love. Just so you know, this is just me and what I felt for the heroine named Keira or Jane. She's annoying. She got on my nerves pretty bad. She's on my least favourite heroine in this series. Don't mind me because you might feel different about her.I gave this book 4 stars for reasons. 1) The plot, especially, is really good. I enjoyed every bit of it. 2) I am marveled with Alerac because he waited for Keira/Jane for two freaking hundred years! At least he reminds that he's a fictional character. Such thing no exist. 3) Lorcan the villain, he is so very sick, manipulative, twisted, wicked vampire but he's my favourite (THE HORROR) because I was full of hatred when it came to him. It's a thumbs-up to me as I was fully engaged to his character. 4) It's about Liam and I truly didn't see it coming.5) Instead of romance between Alerac and Keira/Jane, I think I enjoyed sparks between Ryan and Zoe's a lot more.Done with the series but I want more. Hope there will be more. :)Read the series if you haven't! Recommended.

Beyond death.Jane will soon learn that a werewolf’s claiming…is forever.Bound in Death takes obsession to the extreme. Alerac has been searching for Keira for over two hundred years, since he managed to get caught with her and she took his punishment. A seriously awful punishment that get's revealed as the story goes on. Bound in Death is a much more bloodier story than the other's in the Bound series and instead of it just being characters we don't actually see or know that get killed it's characters that you meet and grow interested in or feel sorry for. Alerac has been drinking vampire blood for the 200 years Keira has been missing which makes him more and more unstable on top of the things he suffered after Keira was taken. When Alerac finally finds Keira she doesn't remember anything about who or what she is or where she came from or what happened to her. She is totally clueless and Alerac scares the hell out of her, her automatic response is to run far, far away from him but Alerac won't lose Keira again no matter what the cost. Bound in Death is a slightly longer novella coming in at 60,000 words compared to the other novella's in the series.Overall, Bound in Death is a really interesting story, there's more than one villain, the heroine doesn't have a clue who the hero is and there's a secondary love interest which I really enjoyed the hinting at.I'm hoping that there will be a follow up story with the secondary characters Ryan {Keira's brother} and Zoe {one of the members of Alerac's pack}.

Kiera has been put under a spell for 200 years she will be locked inside her body because of the betrayal to her vampire clan. Her betrayal of loving a werewolf and bringing him into their home. Aleric didn't realize he loved Kiera until she stepped forward to take his punishment for him. It was in that moment he realized he couldn't imagine living his life without her, his sweet, brave Kiera. The story picks up 200 years later, part of Kiera's spell was that she would forget everything from the past, her 200 years of punishment, her clan and Aleric. I was sucked in at the prologue, I couldn't wait to read this. But for some reason, I just wasn't as satisfied with it as I was with other books in this series. I think I craved Kiera/Jane's memories to come back, at least her memories of Aleric anyway. I also hated that she had such a cool name like Kiera, and insisted on being called Jane. BORING.I enjoyed their story, I just wished I felt more of a connection between Aleric and Kiera. I felt it on Aleric's side, but not on Kiera's side so much.

This was another heartbreaking read. I don’t know why but stories where the lovers get separated because of other people’s manipulation always get to me. This novella was the same. I could feel Alerac’s suffering for losing his mate over his own mistakes and over the monstrous things that were done to him.Jane, who loved him, in spite of knowing he’d deceived her. How strong can a heart be to still love and to try to save the other person, knowing he wronged you? Can anything be more scary than losing your memory and not knowing who to trust?Alerac and Jane were great characters and Cynthia Eden’s writing made them and their ordeals so real for me. For a novella, this book had it all—sexy romance, suspense, surprising twists, hidden betrayals and secrets that came to light in a fantastic end. Posted on Blog

3.5 stars actually and a digital copy. Not my favorite of this vampire/werewolf mating series. It was too long for what it was making it feel padded.Alerac O’Neill would know Kiera McDonough anywhere – even though she is now going by Jane Smith and they were forcibly separated more than 200years ago. Now that vamp/were matings are more known and are legendary for their power this couple has to stay a step ahead of vamps and were’s.Years ago Kiera bargained herself into imprisonment to keep Alerac safe when her clan leader began hearing rumblings about the power boost between vamp/were couple. With the amount of vamps and weres that were after them to steal "the power" there was barely enough time to reacquaint themselves. This was a good story, and the characters were defined enough – what didn’t work for me was the single thread. It was too long to not have anything else going on. For this reader it made me dance too close to the I don’t care line.

I have read and truely enjoyed all the Bound books by Cynthia Eden and Bound In Death was Awesome!! Even though I have found a lot of these Alhpa/female books to be predictable, I loved the storyline on this one! Alerac and Keira/Jane are true mates and nothing is going to keep them apart. There are lots of twists and turns and my emotions were running in high gear throughout the entire book. I can't wait for the next one and hope that it is about Ryan and Zoe. Get this book! You won't be disappointed!

3 1\2I love my Eden. Even if this isn't the series I prefer (by her), its books are always a pleasure to read. Bound In Death is no different. It has the trademark "Bound in plot": were alpha needs vampire princess. Enemies abound. Lies too. Hea ensues. You can't avoid liking it. But I'll be honest. I'd rather read something new or different. I know this is a pnr retelling, so she's playing her were/vamp couple against a backdrop of famous tales. Still, I so miss the midnight or night watch series. < grin >

I loved this book. How romantic is it that Alerac has been looking for Jane (Keira) for over 200 years after she was taken from him and not once did he give up.Alerac was so sexy and Jane was awesome. I really loved the romance between these two. This book had it all, wonderful and steamy romance, great suspense, interesting characters. Another winner from Cynthia Eden.I do hope that there will be a book about Ryan and Zoe….
