This is the book about two best friends, one Amish and one Mennonite who made a promise years ago. When Rebecca, the Amish girl, dies in childbirth many years later her best friend follows through on that promise. This book goes through a lot of the basics of Amish culture and faith which is something I’m very interested in. A very enjoyable book that shows what a true G-dly marriage is and the importance of keeping promises. This book has a few light kissing scenes. I’d recommend this for older teenagers and above.

The reviews for this book were so good on Amazon that I decided to give it a shot. I found it repetitive and predictable. It's a bit like one long Amish stereotype (I think the only thing missing from this book is a barn-raising.). Edited: SPOILER: It was late last night when I finished this and I forgot to add that I thought that the set-up of the best friend with the husband was super creepy. It was noted that since Rebecca was a young girl she chose to "leave" her children and her husband to her best friend. I didn't find this to be a "romantic" concept at all.

I read this story twice. Story of a lifelong friendship. Two girls..one Amish and one Mennonite who grow up together. Faith and Rebecca despite being raised differently are lifelong friends. Neither knows that a promise made as youths will come into play when a tragedy happens. Does God really have a planned journey for our lives? It was a good story. Somewhat predictable after you have read so many Amish fiction stories but still a good read.

I have read many of Sarah's works. When I opened this book I could not put it down. Sarah you wrote a masterpiece. The story brought me in and evoked emotions (tears) as I read through the book. What a story of love.

This book was about losing a very best friend, Rebecca, and changing your life, Faith's, to carry out your friend's last wishes. Really enjoyed this book. I was a little disturbed about Rebecca's unwillingness to see a doctor or communicating her condition to her husband.

A wonderful story of friendship, faith and love. Rebecca and Faith become good friends as children even though Rebecca is Amish and Faith is Mennonite. A promise is made and kept by Faith that alters her life.

I loved this book. Faith and Manuel are a great couple. I am hoping for a sequel so we can follow their lives together. It is absolutely wonderful to read about goodness.

Who would have thought that when Manny saved Faith from drowning as a child that she would save him and his family of five plus the baby when her bestest friend Rebecca dies in childbirth.
