Their night was cut short by a fight and Rick’s overprotective friends, who were determined to make sure that he makes it home by his curfew. After dancing with Will the night before and jacking off to the memory of it before bed, Rick is more than happy to take Will up on his offer for dinner, much to his family’s horror and against their objections. His family has always been super supportive of his lifestyle, so why were they so against his dating Will? But when Will sees exactly how flamboyant and effeminate Rick is and Rick finds out exactly how much Will can “pass” as a heterosexual man, will the two of them be able to make a go of their relationship or is Rick too “super gay” for straight laced Will?Word Count: 15,883Free story....

I told myself not to do it. I really did. 'Don't read the book," I said. 'But it's free! Do it!'And so my morbid curiosity won out over my gut instinct. Damn curiosity... hand me the brain bleach! The story essentially consists of two extreme stereotypes, both of which I loathe. One being the over-the-top flamboyant, and the other the 'straight-acting', I-don't-date-camp-guys type. So basically we've got one effeminate guy and one butch guy. Now, I know what you're thinking here... You've read this story before, right? Yup, because that sums up 90% of this author's stories. Honestly, it reads like some kind of personal fantasy about hooking up with small, lithe, long-haired guys.Okay, so onto the actual writing. Super BAD.This story epitomises everything that is wrong with self-publishing, and that is the ability to churn out a story and then publish it well before it is ready, and most likely before anyone other than the author has read. The book is littered with typographical errors, along with numerous failures at punctuation that resulted in run-on sentences making no sense whatsoever. Several times there were repeated words within the same sentence. Also, pretty much everything was telling. No showing... just the author telling us what happened and why. Also there were several sentences that just made absolutely no sense, or showed a completely lack of editing. His fishnet shirt was pushed up and his nipples grew tight as the warm air from the club brushed across them.Ummm... Firstly, nipples grow tight when they meet cold air, not the other way around. Also, I would think that a fishnet shirt would allow the air to reach his nipples anyway making this completely redundant, along with a fair portion of the 15k or so words in this story. In the very first chapter we're introduced to Rick and a few of his friends in a gay club. The reader is treated to a rather long and boring exposition about each of his friends and their history... and then we never really see his friends again. So why then did we need to know their entire life story? Simple answer: We didn't, it's just bad writing.Later on at the wedding, Rick, or rather the author, tells us about how Rick is happy that the weather is good enough to have this wedding outside, because having the wedding inside the hotel would remind him of how Florida doesn't support 'gay marriage'. What exactly does whether or not the wedding is inside or outside have anything to do with this? I really don't have a clue. This part just read like the author's own thoughts about how it's sad the state isn't yet on the side of marriage equality.Okay, so how about the relationship between the two guys? I'll sum it up quickly for you. (view spoiler)[They grind on the dance floor, meet at a wedding and are determined to go out on a date sure that this person may be the one. They fight because one of them is 'super gay' and the other hates those kind of guys. Then the 'fucking fairy' gets numerous voicemails over the coming days to apologise, including one overly soppy declaration that they were meant to be. (hide spoiler)] And there's the conflict all neatly tied up by a sudden change of feelings.I can honestly say I found no redeeming quality in this book whatsoever, and in future I will be listening to my gut instinct and staying away from this author and publisher.

2.5 HeartsReview written for MM Good Book Reviewshttp://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com/The more I read from this author, the more I’m convinced that the core idea behind his stories is pretty much the same. Here we have yet again, what I’ve come to recognize as his special brand, a story that follows a very young man, smallish and flamboyant, the type people around are used to calling as “too gay”. Rick is this little pixie like man and he’s happy in his flaming ways. His counterpart is the older (perhaps too old) and more “straight” looking Will, who can pass for “normal”.The plot is simple enough and we’ve seen it too many times. Big guy meets small guy, insta-lust and chemistry, misunderstanding follows along with the drama of apologizing and finally the happily ever after.I’m not fond of insta-love/lust, that is something I try to avoid in books I read, but there are times when I’m sold the idea. Good writing has a lot to do with it. In this case though I didn’t like it. The active plot was not there and the “telling” made it hard to connect with either character or emotions, although I might put a small blame at the length of the story there as well. Whatever the case, the “super” fast way this story went was too much and as it was constantly said throughout the read, the characters simply had no time to form any kind of attachment or thoughts about each other, yet they ended with sappy declaration of love and “forever”. Nothing engaging about that and adding the grammar/typos there were found through the text I came to even dislike it.That said if you love the type of read and if you don’t mind the lack of realistic approach, this happy little story might be right for you.Thommie

From the blurb: "Will watches as the younger man’s long auburn hair blows in the wind"I wonder which guy on cover has his hair blowing in wind? I love the cover. I love the title. I'm just not a fan of the description from just the blurb being so far off from the cover. Another example of why IMO covers shouldn't always have faces.

A cute short story. I thought the characters were adorable. I didn't care if the plot line wasn't unusual. I love stories that are simple sometimes. As easy as that:) The characters have a very quick relationship but the story isn't really an HEA more a HFN.

This was a fun, free short that I wrote for Amilyn Lina after she won a story from me in an auction to help the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

I loved this short story. All of Vicktor Alexander's stories have been fantastic. I couldn't give this one a higher rating because I found William's change of mind hard to believe. Overall, it was still a good read.

2.5 If William is that biased against the personality of Rick I can't understand why he'd bother the man in the first place.

Quick and cute. Older man, younger twink. William doesn't like Rick's "super gayness" but realizes he's wrong, of course.

OK, who stole the cover for this book... or was this a mess up of humongous proportions? Either way... being a cover whore, I would prefer a cover with a tree or a tube of lipstick than one where throughout the whole book I am thinking this is NOT the guy on the cover... grrr!!!As for the story... I like it! Issues are just that... issues! Things that we need to become aware of and learn to deal with or just move on! I am glad that William confronted his past and made the right choice... Derrick (Rick) may be quite a bit younger, but he knew who he was and was happy with that person... many never reach that place in their life and it makes for a very sad life.Side note: I loved Rick's family and friends, but even I will admit they were written a bit over the top... but that's OK, we all need to see that kind of support in our books every now and then! Angst can be highly overrated! *grin*

Super Gay is Super Fun, Not Too Short, and Super Cheesy. For a Free Read? This is better than most expensive ones out there.Okay, so I saw this in Vicktor Alexander's page where it says that this was a Free Read. Who can resist a free read? Come on, its Free. Does it mean it would be good? No.Does it mean it would be great? No.Does it mean it would be a waste of time? Most times, Yes.So where does Super Gay come in? It goes to my Favorites list and will most likely be read time and time again, especially when I want to exercise my smiling muscles. So yes, Super Gay is starts off with William “Will” Ladler showing up at the Radisson Hotel for the wedding of his best friend’s younger brother. He’s surprised to see the gorgeous, effeminate young man he’d danced with the night before at a club, standing at the altar dressed in a tuxedo as a member of the wedding party. Will watches as the younger man’s long auburn hair blows in the wind, missing the entire ceremony. He’s determined to not only find out the younger man’s name but to get his number and ask him out on a date, which is what he’d wanted to do the night before.Derrick “Rick” Tramun is beyond shocked to see the gorgeous Will Ladler at his older brother’s wedding. But when Will sees exactly how flamboyant and effeminate Rick is and Rick finds out exactly how much Will can “pass” as a heterosexual man, will the two of them be able to make a go of their relationship or is Rick too “super gay” for straight laced Will?So basically, Super Gay means someone who is flamboyant, Queenie, flashy, out and loud Gay, effeminate, and all that jazz. These are the types of gays I am used to. Here in my country? These are the norms and those who are in the SAG crowd are the deviants. It is a fact that in my country? Those who are all so out and proud and loudly gay are the most looked up to. Don't ask me why. It's just the way it is. So all the angst William goes through is sort of duh IMO, but I know where this is coming from. The blurb basically tells the whole story, so all one needs to do is read the 15,883 words and just have a fun time reading. It is short enough that it can be read in an hour, or less, but it is not something that will be relegated to the trash bin where most of my freebies usually go.For those of you who love HEAs, fairy tales, short reads, cheesy/corny sweet and free books, Super Gay is Super Great Fun To Read!

There was a lot of potential in this story. William has a lot of personal growth to go through before he can reconcile his beliefs with how he feels about Rick. Unfortunately, that growth happens off the page and is only told in voicemail messages. Rick, too, must figure out if William's worth it, if he can forgive William for his prejudices, but Alexander never lets us in on Rick's decision-making process. He also begins a subplot with William's friend Teddy that's never resolved. The first chapter was a confusing info dump of characters who weren't necessary to the story, and the second full of participial phrases, mostly beginning sentences, so many that I became too distracted by sentence structure to notice plot. By the third chapter, this picks up and has some potential, but the conflict and resolution are all off-screen. I'd be interested in reading this story in a more expanded version, or at least in short story form with the crucial emotional moments foregrounded.

Synopsis:Will meets a gorgeous young man at a dance club when he is in town to attend a wedding. However, he doesn't get the name or any other information when their night is cut short. When he sees that same man as part of the wedding party the next day, Will is overjoyed to have the opportunity to get to know this person that he made a connection with. Rick is delighted to see Will again and agrees to go out to dinner with him, but Will doesn't know everything about Rick; he's only seen him in a couple of settings. Rick is flamboyant and proud of it, and Will is much more muted. What I liked: the premise. I liked that Rick was who he was with no apologies. What I didn't like: the writing style just didn't do it for me; I never really got involved with either character.

Victor Alexander’s “Super Gay,” is one of those stories that does just one better than flirt with the pathos of comedy. Honestly, I was torn between the smile on my face and the tears in my eye. I don’t expect everyone that reads this story to equal or match by rather juxtaposing extremes (or little streams). But that’s life. We all have different experiences and react differently to different things. And seriously, wasn’t that the point all along. It’s a beautiful thing—eye of the beholder notwithstanding.

This is the story of the very "straight acting" Will and the very "effeminate" Rick who cross paths at a dance club and then again at a wedding the following day. Their mutual interest leads them to go out on a date but it's cut short when Will has obvious issues with Rick's flamboyant qualities. A very strange scenario ensues where Rick's family gets involved and I found it didn't really make much sense at all. This one was really over the top for me, but maybe that's the point, I don't know. At least it was short.

I like this story even though it was only an introduction to the beginning of this couples relationship. I will be disappointed if this is all we see of them, partly because Williams issues have not gone away as a result of this one incident, and partly because the relationship was not consummated. It's a huge let down to be denied this part of the romance especially when there is so much sexual tension between the two characters.

This is a story about how one's perceptions are too often based on looks rather than character. The older man is very conservative and a little bit in the closet about being gay and has to reevaluate his opinions when he falls for an out and out flamboyant makeup wearing gay guy. I like the way the two men interact and how the older guy manages to be more honest by the end of this rather sweet romance.

This was cute but it needed more relationship building and less information about Ricks brothers an sisters and his friends whom we never hear from. It seems like the author wrote this and didn't bother to proof read. Too many problems with typos and lack of punctuation. It just needs a lot of work. Otherwise, the story wasn't that bad.

I really loved Will and Rick's story. This is a full and well developed story and getting it for free was just a bonus. Loved the mix of humor and emotion. The message chapter was perfect and I really enjoyed it. And I agree with "Derrick"'s mom why sweat over your kid's name just to use a nick name.

Really good story, wish it were longer. I did love how Rick didn't forgive William right away, he made him suffer for a week. I always hate when 2 people fight over something really serious and the just forgive each other so easily, I truly like the angst that comes with the waiting. :)

It was going so well... then it just ended. This story would have benefited in being double the length. It was just Problem, Ignorance, and the fixed in a matter of pages. I like HEA, but there is no way it is going to happen that fast!
