Tori has done it again. Her characters are alive and so full of emotions you see the story through their eyes. Nick afraid of being unloved has a hard time trusting people. He's at a point in his life where he wants answers to the questions he's had all his life . Jean is attracted to the handsome cowboy but senses his pain. they search for the answers from his past and she finds herself falling fast. Add a rogue angry cowboy to the mix who has serious anger issues and is out to hurt Nick and has a secret if his own makes this an incredible romantic suspense that will keep you turning the pages. This book made me laugh and cry. Tori's research shows in her descriptive scenes of Texas and the surrounding areas. And the depth of emotions in Beneath a Texas Star will leave you feeling closer to these characters, add in the repeat characters from the series and a few new ones and you have an emotional and entertaining must read! Can't wait for the next book by this wonderful author.

WOW!!! Tori is a fantastic writer!!!! Beneath a Texas Star is the fourth book in the series of Lone Star Cowboys and man it is GREAT!!! Jean is tired of being odd man out with her friends all married but can't bring herself to leave and not be around them. Her business is falling and she might have to close her doors. Nancy and Cooper offer her to move to their ranch and help with the disable that where coming there for rehab and she agrees. Also she knows Nick is there and she really likes him.Nick is tired of the rodeo and Cooper offers him a job taking care on the stables and animals on the ranch. He agrees but doesn't know how long he would stay because he always got restless after staying in one place to long. Nick also liked Jean but felt he wasn't good enough for her because of his background. Jean and Nick become friends and he tells her everything he knew about his pass. He decides he has to know what happened to his parents and why he was abandoned and put in foster care. Jean decides that she needed to go with him so off they go to visit the last foster parents he had. She help him de over a lot but then after a nightmare he was to go back home. One of the man from the rodeo had been arrested before they left for hurting Nick and he broke out of jail. When Nick and Jean get back they are told what happened and that the man was heading back that way. Will Nick find out what happened to his family? Will Jean and Nick get together? There is so many questions that answer in this book. The characters work so well together that it is hard not to have them all together. EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS SERIES!!!!!

Nick and Jean have a little somethin', somethin' going on and well everyone notices it, especially when they act all weird, "what's up with you two? First Nick gets all moody and leaves the party, then you leave, too. And now you're both scowling this morning." Nick he really does care about Jean and he doesn't like seeing his girl hurt, "Nick's side burned like hell, and he had a headache worthy of a three day bender. The sight of Jean's beautiful face streaked with tears made it all fade away. "Hey," he said, "Why are you crying?" And I love the way Nick make promises, "she ran her hands up his sides, avoiding his injury, and settled them over his chest, curling her fingers through the soft, damp hair. Nick dropped a kiss on her forehead as he pulled her hips against him. She could feel how much he wanted her, and the need she felt for him tugged at her soul. "It's a promise, sweetheart. A solemn, sworn promise."

Nick and Jean's Story: This is an exciting story. I didn't want to put the book down! Nick has been on the rodeo circuit for many years, unable to settle down. Abandoned as a child and growing up in foster homes, he never got over his sense of abandonment. Jean is a psychologist who wants to help Nick find out about his past so that he might settle down, hopefully with her. I love the way the author weaves in characters from the other books in the series, letting us see our old friends. While reading this book I realized I missed reading one of the books, so I am going back to read it. I hope there will be more books in this series. Good job Tori Scott!
