Never in his wildest imaginings, and they got pretty wild, did he dream what that difference truly means. By the time that he's followed her to Atlanta, in search of her missing mother, he's in too deep. Too deeply entangled in the mystery surrounding her mother's disappearance. Too deeply terrified for Ankh's safety. Too deeply in love to ever consider walking away....

skinless: A Novel in III Parts Reviews
I received a free copy of this book for my honest review. This is the second part to this novel, with only one more part to follow. It picks up right where Part 1 leaves off and I'm not really sure why it was split up this way. It seems to me that it would work very well as a single novel as the parts are very short. In any case, as with Part 1 (which I really enjoyed) the action starts from the very begining. We are quickly drawn into the story as AnCaela is on the search for her mother in Atlanta. Clues are searched for, the mystery deepens, and somehow their friends back home are funding this little jaunt around the country. The pace is quick and there is a lot of action and a bit of teen romance. However, AnCaela knows of thier differences and doesn't encourage Lucas. He's done so much for her and you can't help but wonder if her not putting her trust in Lucas with her secret is going to backfire.Part 2 winds up with quite a cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the last part to this novel. It has definitely taken a turn that I suspected but not wholely forseen. I still don't quite understand all the pieces to this mystery but expect all to be explained in the last part. If you enjoy a good YA sci/fic than you should pick up this novel (starting with the first as they don't stand alone.)
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This series is so weird, but in an interesting way. I'm still not sure what exactly these creatures are but I am going to agree with Luca and say aliens lol. L. M. Davis has a way to keep the reader wanting to know about this book, I think the weirdness of it all is the "it" factor in the case of Skinless. Part II starts off exactly where Part I left off. But I still feel nowhere near knowing the truth about anything. Despite that, I am still excited to read the next instalment because I want to know if Lucas's feelings for Ankh will change now that her secret has been exposed. But I am going to start needing answers very soon, because if they keep building up with no end in sight I would probably become bored.Again I would recommend this series to sci- fi lovers. Also make sure that you are prepared to be confused and not receive any clues until the author feels like giving them to you.
The journey continues as Ankh and Luca try to get ahead of the Skinless and search for clues. Unsure of who to trust much less where to go next. They find themselves in the midst of betrayal and heartbreak. The Skinless are on to them, tailing them or just one step ahead at every turn. Ankh and Luca don't understand, they follow the clues yet it leads them no where. Betrayed by the only one that can help them find Ankh's mother quickly, they must finish alone.Confronted by Skinless, Luca cannot defend himself fast enough. He's in trouble and Ankh must save him. It must be a dream, in and out of consciousness, Luca sees her, his Ankh in her true form.Ankh finds the strength to overpower her enemy, taking the chance to find what lies beneath the surface. Skinless... Unbelievable yet so much the same. Have all the story's she's grown up to believe been a lie?
So I do like to read YA. However, I don’t typically read SciFi. I have to say that L.M. Davis just may have won me over! I absolutely LOVED Skinless part 1 and part 2. I seriously couldn’t put them down. I couldn’t help but feel like I wanted to just jump in the story and help Ankh and Luca. L.M. Davis has a way of weaving a story that snatches you up from the first page and never lets you go. When I got to the end of part 2, I felt like screaming LOL. Especially since part 3 doesn’t come out until August. That is on my must-buy, must-read list.
