In book one Paul is made to look like he is nothing more than Shallow, Lazy and a womanizer. In this one you learn a bit more about Paul and his background and why he is the way that he is. This is definitely one of those books that takes a character that doesn't look like he has many redeeming qualities and shows that they can change. In this book Paul is going to revisit his past and see if he can once again make a go of his career and what made him happy. While he is trying to find a sponsor He Calls Madame Eve for a 1NS Date for a party.Sylvie has her own demons to battle. She has an overbearing father who monitors everything that she does, every day of her life. With the exception of one. Her day in Vegas that is all hers and that is when she makes use of Madame Eve and 1NS. Sylvie has more insecurities than anyone realizes thanks to her father and her ex husband. So while Paul helps Sylvie more than he knows she is also beneficial to him and is able to introduce him to the person that he needs to get his career back on track. There is undeniable heat between Paul and Sylvie right from the start. In fact they don't even make it out of the party before they are finding a dark secluded corner. Only to find that they are not alone. There is then a pretty steamy interlude in the car on the way to the hotel. Then it gets real hot and heavy once they get to the hotel room. Some of it even involves some desert. Before the end of the night Paul knows that he wants more than just one night with Sylvie. Sylvie feels more for him than her previous 1NS dates but she is too in her head on the matter and too worried about what her dad would say. Paul has his work cut out for him to convince her that they can have more than one night.I love books in the 1NS series. Madame Eve is a Sneaky one. She has a habit of throwing together the perfect couples. I definitely recommend this book. It can be read as a stand alone. But would be better if read in order.'Reviewed by Satin Sheets Romance Reviews'

I adored the other Gaines books and I enjoyed seeing Paul be someone other than the total playboy, why yes I know that sounds silly since he’s on a 1NS date with Sylvie but I could quickly tell that he really liked her.Sylvie has a whole list of issues and I wanted to smack her father and ex right upside the head for helping create them. I love that she lets go with Paul and indulges with the sexy cowboy. She represented to me the way most women just want to be able to eat crème brûlée and have wild sex with a cowboy, ok that might be more what I want to do.This is a great representation of the 1NS series, they meet, they’re instantly attracted, they talk a bit, they have wild hot sex and ultimately realize that Madame Eve knows her business and they’re perfect for each other if they can just let go. I’ll admit this one ended a bit abruptly but yet it still worked for the story, out of all of the Gaines books written by Ms. Rhys this is the one I need a follow up to, I might just have to write her an email.I recommend it, it’s got a sexy cowboy, a woman who cuts loose and a bit of fun with food that just adds to the level of sexiness this book provides. *I received a copy in exchange for my honest review. I was not compensated for my review.*

Reviewed by HeatherBook provided by the publisher for reviewOriginally posted at Romancing the BookI really did not care for this story. The main female character, Sylvie, was the absolute worst. She and the main male character, Paul, agree to one date then they would both walk away. If they would have kept it that way, the story would have probably been much better.I seriously disliked Sylvie. She is portrayed as the typical spoiled rich girl with a father that controls her entire life. When she and Paul started falling for each other, she didn’t tell him anything about her life, including her child. Paul seemed to be more of an open book which I deeply respect in characters. The poor guy has a lot to deal with if he sticks with his one-night lover.Although the story could happen in real life, it was very dramatized and sex/sexual thoughts are on almost every page. I feel like this story could have been a lot better if the characters talked a little more and if the author added more details.I won’t be bragging about Gaines and Losses to my reading friends. A lot could have been done to make this a really good short story but it just didn’t happen that way.
