Going For The Gold Reviews
This is a D.N.F. I just couldn't take it any more.It reads exactly like band fan fiction, mis-spellings and poor grammar up the wazoo. The worst is the supposed relationship between Jake and Kerri. There was no... chemistry. None at all. But supposedly they're attracted to each other.FYI author-san, editing services are relatively affordable and they can help make your story great. The few beta readers you had (and I use the term loosely), don't know jack shit about spotting mistakes. The worst of it is, in twelve episodes, Yuri on Ice does this type of story better.
This was a cute read indeed. Kerri Sullivan is an accomplished skater but has suffered an injury that might compromise her training for the Olympic Gold medal. Now her coach tell her to accept Jake Takeda's help since no one was willing to spend so much time training her without any guarantees that she would make it back for the Olympics. Jake used to skate in the same competitions as her, but being older he is now retired and back at his training school in Japan. Even if they hardly spoke to each other during all the years they met during competitions, they do seem to find the other intriguing enough to questions themselves if a partnership between when could ever work.Of course it does and of course they get together. But that doesn't mean you don't have fun reading how it happens. As I said before, this is a cute story and at the end you still get a preview of book 2, which sounds nicer than this one, actually. But we will have to wait till December to be sure.
Great book! Loved it!!!
DNF at 33% found it to be boring and poorly written. only made it this far because the idea of the story was good.
