Ella Medler’s Hunter Series has some of the most awesome, vibrant, eyecatching covers that relate to the story and I love them. I could never walk by without picking them up, just by the cover alone.I had read Blood Is Heavier, Book I, and I was dying to continue Nick’s story. Blood Is Power picks up where Blood Is Heavier left off. I knew this would be another hit thriller and I was not disappointed. Fast paced, exciting and suspenseful.Nick was tired of all the killing, but Campbell or Dallas had kidnapped Cameron and Maxi to make him do their bidding, so now they would have to pay. They had no idea what a big mistake they had made. If he was good enough to hire, they should have thought of the repercussions. He found the yacht easily.Tequila is Nick’s best bud. They had been in Special Forces together and had a special bond. She understood him and would do anything for him. She is strong, stubborn and resourceful. He had Max and Cam. She was alone, but she takes care of his family as if it’s her own. She is obsessive, impetuous and pushes things too far. It gets her in trouble. I was freaking out for Tequila. I love her and am scared for her.Police Officer Newton, along with Marsh is doing a lot off the grid. Newton has a disregard for rules. They are walking a mighty fine line, venturing on their own to save…..They will risk their careers to do the right thing. What was Dollar dela Rue’s game? He enjoyed being turned on by others pain. Is he in to human trafficking? Awful, just awful Ella. How do you come up with such evilness. LOL I love it. “So much blood? I hope its worth it.” “Blood is power. Its money and influence and authority. It’s me.”Hard to not give away too much. Police corruption. Rich powerful men ruling the world. A few out for the few. They can bring you down on a whim. Is that happening now? I do believe in conspiracies. Just look at current events.I love thrillers and this is a great one. From the UK to Cypress to the Maldines. Greed, corruption, pornography, sex slaves, murder, and the deepest, darkest depravities of the sexually perverted.Death of a 1000 – ling chi.The writing was so real, I was at turns afraid, disgusted and super poed.I can’t think of where she will go next but am glad to hear that Tequila’s story will be told.Bonus material and an interview with Ella Medler is at the end of the book. The interview is very entertaining. When she tells how she remains sane, I loved it. Cracking up. I loved reading how she chooses characters names, and does her research on locations, the military culture, maps, organ transplant, slave trade, trafficking…I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Blood Is Power from Ella Medler.

First of all I had been chosen to Beta Read this awesome book. Thank you so much for that, I appreciate that my opinion has value. As I have stated in my review for Blood is Heavier. Thrillers are usually not the kind of books I read. I just LOVE to be wrong (sometimes). After falling in love with book one I was very excited for Blood is Power to be released. The Authors unique style of writing just pulls me in. And that to me is enough. Now with this being said. How far would you go to clear your name? How far would you go to protect your family? How far would you go to rescue your friends? If your answer is all the way, then you sure know that our friend Nick did exactly that and more. Now I am not one to give away spoilers, since to me that takes the purpose of reading. But let me tell you this much, this book had me hold my breath on more then one occasion. Keep tissues and a stress ball handy. If you have a weak stomach then certain parts of the book will make the bile rise, just swallow it back down and read on.Now let me say a couple things about Tequila, what a bad ass chick. She will do anything for Nick and his family, willing to give up her body to her captor, now that takes strength. The pain and humiliation she went through made me so mad at times. One of my favorite lines is - “Aw, Precious,” Dollar whispered in her face. “That’s gonna leave a scar.” A look of mock remorse lit his face, then he howled with laughter. - I just wanted to beat him senseless, seriously!!Wonderful read. I can only recommend this book to anyone regardless of what your preferred reading genre is.

I honestly didn't think Ella Medler could make the second book any better than the first, but boy was I wrong. It's one of those books that sucks you in by the first chapter and whisks you out of your reality into another time and place. Ms. Medler puts you in the shoes of each of her characters so you feel, rather than read, their pain, trials and emotions. The novel is so well written and flows so smoothly that I often forgot about the things that had to be done in my life because I was so caught up in Nick's, his family, and the men he had set out to get revenge on.The suspense was gripping and had me guessing in the wrong direction on several occasions, but Medler never disappointed. Each scene and chapter had me turning the pages to see what would happen next. This book is definitely in my op five favorite thrillers, and I will be reading it again. 5 stars from me and I recommend this to anyone that wants a little adventure and danger in their life. You'll love Nick's payback.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced page turner.Ella Medler never lets her readers down. Her story telling is smooth, fast paced at the right times, and very well written. Her descriptions of people and places are crystal clear. First there was Blood Is Heavier, and I recommend you read that book before letting yourself get swept away by Book 2 in the "Nick Hunter Series", Blood Is Power. This second book had me cringing at times... but in a good way. The characters are well portrayed, realistic. Some are lovable, strong, loyal identities while others are ruthless, cunning, cruel and just plain hate-able! Kidnapping, torture, human trafficking, organ trafficking - it's all there. Well worth the money. I highly recommenced this series to those that love a good mystery with a well developed story line and plenty of action. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D...

I received a free copy of this work in exchange for my honest review. That being said, HOLY COW! I picked this up last night intending to read a bit before bed, and couldn't put it down! Fast paced, vivid imagery, peppy banter, and solid English prose make this one a winner! The author tackles a sensitive subject with brutal honesty, all without falling into the trap of lurid voyeurism.

I've just finished reading this story from a box set collection of thrillers and wanted to review it separately.Blood is Power is a story about revenge - Nick Hunter must find those who hurt his family. This tale highlights the powerful pull of love and what someone may do to protect family - and bring justice for them. The characters are well defined - both good and bad - and they are the kind you love to love /hate because what story has any worth without an investment in them?I didn't like some of the more graphic scenes, however, all were there for a reason, but don't expect a 'pleasant' read, more like a 'whoa, what's happening', one that will curl your toes and squeeze your heart.A gritty, if gruesome book, with a great writing style. And a story to drag you through the blood, cringing yet...

The sequel to Blood is Heavier is one amazing concoction. It has by far the most vicious villain I have ever encountered. Somebody needs to read this book and turn it into a movie. The action is nonstop. I was in Nick Hunter’s corner every step of the way. The cop in the story absolutely got what he deserved (big grin here as you are going to need to read this to find out what I’m referring to). I cannot say much more without giving away too much. Great story.

I read this book as part of The Edge of Madness Set so I unfortunately did not read the 1st book in the series. Had I read that one I'm pretty sure my review would have been a 5, so I highly recommend reading the first one in the series before this one.Nick Hunter is trying to hunt down and eliminate every person that was involved in crimes against his family after his son was kidnapped and subsequently rescued. Nick begins tracking down people in hopes of finding out who the mastermind was behind everything and why.The problem for Nick is that he is supposed to be detained by the police in England, but Detective Newton believes that Nick is innocent of what he is being questioned for and is helping him find out the truth. There are still people after Nick and his family and he is running out of time to prove them all innocent and keep them safe. There was so much mystery in this book and some pretty difficult subjects dealt with. This book is definitely for mature readers only. I think one of the sad parts was to know that some of these things still happen in our culture. The author definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see how everything is going to turn out as you really have doubts on whether everyone is going to be ok.

I received this book as a prize in a giveaway. I am not a huge fan of horror, and though this novel is listed as a thriller, the level of violence and sexual sadism elements made this a tough read for me. I can handle blood and gore, but I wasn't expecting to read a book about such depraved people. This being said- Excellent plot (almost lost me a few times, as there is so many layers), and really good characters. I was caught up in the plot, cringing at the cruelty, yet reading more because I was interested in what happened to the characters. Ending felt a bit rushed in the wrap up epilogue, probably because it contrasted with the heavy detail in the writing. A good read, but be warned- there are elements of rape, child abuse (for lack of another description that may be a spoiler), torture, and lots of death/murder. Read this when you're in the mood for an intense, intricate read.

A fantastic second book to the series! Lots of action, good guys vs. bad guys, heartwarming moments, and spine-tingling suspense! All written with well defined characters, flawless editing, and a thorough plot. This story shows us how often the lines between lawfulness and justice get blurred. Well done!
