5 Trailer Park StarsI am a Southern Girl. Yes that is capital S and capital G. That means pick up trucks, redneck friends, beer drinking, country music and field parties. And crazy family. Of course Southerners don't have a monopoly on crazy family. Ours are just more fun. Cause there's beer, pick up trucks, field parties...you get the picture. Charlie is right there with me. She's an SG too.Charlie, short for Charlotte, has raised her little sister since her mom died when she was 12 years old. Her sister, Paige, has gotten out the trailer park they lived in and moved to the big city. Dallas. Big D. Now Paige is getting married and Charlie is meeting all her new, non-trailer park friends. Alex is the best friend of Paige's fiancé. He bumps into Charlie at the Engagement Party...then he bumps into her if you know what I mean. Alex is sexy, rich and smitten with Charlie. So Paige should be happy that her sister and her friend are bumping, right? NO. She warns Charlie that Alex is not the right guy for her. But after one incredible night, Charlie is more confused than ever. There comes a moment in everyone's life when reality turns up uninvited, rolls it's eyes at your naïve hopes and dreams then rears forward to slap the shit out of you.Can Alex and Charlie make it work when there is so much stacked up against them. Including time, money, insecurities. One thing in their favor...small spaces. They are really good in small spaces. But there is a problem. Huge. Problem. Alex has a problem that he can't or won't make go away. Don't you dare. Don't you dare talk like it's not your choice. You don't need to read the first book to enjoy the second. It isn't a sequel. This is a great, funny, fun, quirky book. Full of Characters. Yes, again with the capital C. Brook's hand, covered in costume jewelry, flies to her mouth. "This is just like Knots Landing,"So kick your cowboy boots up on the rail of the double wide, open a tall one with your teeth and enjoy a great visit to the wrong side of the tracks... Redneck Style.

4.5 stars for me!I first discovered Emily Hemmer when I stumbled upon 'The Break-Up Psychic' a few months ago. Now I kind of love her...Before reading 'Plus None', you'll want to start with it's prequel novella, which is 'Just One', where we first meet Charlie and Alex. 'Plus None' picks up 2 years later.... I'll spare you a synopsis of the story, since you've probably read the 'back cover' and are just trying to decide if you should read it. I'll spell it out for you.... You. should. definitely. read. these. books. You won't be disappointed! Unless of course you don't like humor. Or are easily offended. Or take life too seriously, in which case you maybe shouldn't read these books. But.... if you (like me) enjoy some potty mouth, flawed (aka realistic) characters, crazy redneck cousins, and some sassy laughs mixed in with your sexy times, then I think you'll be happy with your decision. Enjoy!

Once again, Ms. Hemmer had me embarrassing myself from the first few paragraphs of this story. Honestly, there aren't many authors who do that for me. This was a well rounded comedy about two people who can't be together yet can't keep their hands off each other. But it hurts so good as Charlie and Alex fight the odds to steal a moment in any nook or cranny that will hide them. Alex, who has the most to lose, is the only suit on the planet with the cojones to win Charlie's stubborn heart. I love this couple. But if you haven't read the separate prologue, Just One, I'd do so first. It's not necessary, but OH SO WORTH IT.

First and foremost I have to say, Emily Hemmer is the funniest chick I have ever known. Not only does she have a quick wit she’s incredibly talented at bringing humor to her work. I can’t tell you the amount of times I laughed so hard I almost peed a little. There was even one point in the book where the main character Charlie is in a little tiff with her sister Paige. Charlie tries to apologize and this ensues: “All right, fine. I’m sorry.”She folds her arms across her chest and looks away from me. “I don’t accept.”“You have to accept.” “Well, I don’t.” “But you have to when someone tells you they’re sorry.”“Says who?” “Jesus . And Dr. Phil.” Read Full Review

Loved this book. Emily Hemmer is witty and funny and thank God I’m not any older or I’d need depends to get through this book it is laugh out loud funny. The situations Charlie gets herself into are great and the sex scenes are hot. Alex Ramirez is worth a second chance and a third and forth. Again she didn’t disappoint, just like in the Break Up Physic and Just One… well done Emily Hemmer!!

I'm sad to see the book end!! Loved Charlie and her sassy mouth and her big heart! Alex redeemed himself because I KNEW there was something fishy going on... in the end I loved him too! I think the aunts and the cousins almost stole the show! Makes me grateful that I only have a bunch of rowdy loud American Indians standing behind me because the Judes' make my clan seem almost docile!

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review*Good lord. Emily Hemmer has gone and done it again. Just when I thought the relationship between Charlie and Alex couldn’t get any hotter; she went and proved me wrong!Plus None picks up about two years after Just One ends. Out of the blue, Charlie receives a visit from Alex, whom she hasn’t seen since the morning she walked out of the hotel room. It turns out Alex has very much wanted to contact Charlie, however he is still harboring a very big secret; a secret that could keep them from realizing a happily ever after. Charlie is no longing working in the oil fields. She has finally realized her dream and has opened her own bakery. While not making a ton of money, she is staying afloat, with quite a bit of help from her family, her aunts in particular (who bring a TON of comic relief to the story!). Charlie’s sister Paige is planning her wedding to Ken and much of the plot revolves around that storyline in one way or another. In Plus None, we see the return of Brook (the owner of Brook’s Bath Shop) who happens to be Charlie’s aunt. Also, Amber, our favorite witch, is back. She’s a resident of the same building as Charlie’s bakery and apartment. I freaking love the interaction between these characters! While not necessarily central to the storyline, these relationships just strengthen the small town feel of the book, as well as set up for even more storylines for future books. The heat between Charlie and Alex ramps up even more, and the tension between the two is palpable. While there is a lot of humor in this installment of our story, it seems that Ms. Hemmer has started to evolve as a writer. The first book, The Break-Up Psychic depended on humor for a bulk of the storyline, however by the third volume, Ms. Hemmer’s writing has become deeper and more descriptive. She has mastered mixing the comedy with the heat and emotion, and has presented us with not only a storyline that is hard to forget, but characters that have become addictive as well. (To say that Alex is swoon-worthy would be an understatement!)Plus None is another five star effort. Like Ms. Hemmer’s other books, it is well written and a quick, enjoyable read. My only issue with this volume is how long are we going to have to wait for the next installment, and whose story are we going to hear next?!? We need more Harlow County!

Emily Hemmer first brought us, The Break-Up Psychic. Then Just One, the hot little novella introducing us to a steamy one-night stand between Charlie and Alex. Plus None starts two years later and is chuck full of romance, humor and sexiness. I love a book that provides smart writing, outstanding character development, great storyline and satisfaction in the end. Plus None is about Charlie and Alex. They both have issues that make their being "together" difficult. I however, found myself loving the other characters in the story. There are many worth mentioning. I made notes of them throughout the book. There are quotable lines, that I found myself pausing to message friends, because they are so hysterical. Charlie's "sex-crazed cougar" aunts, are a story in of themselves! The dialogue of the Hillbilly relatives adds to the richness and fun of the whole story. Mix Hillbillies from Harlow County with the Dallas wealthy, and you have comedy straight up. Amber is back, from the first book. She provides dark humor that is so-Amber. Charlie is a strong, cowboy boot wearing woman and we love her so. She is independent and has her small bakery. Family is what has always come first. She has sacrificed plenty for the sake of her Harlow County family. Paige, her younger sister, who "got away" is now planning her wedding to Ken, but rather quickly. Charlie has to deal with Cadence, Paige's best friend, and ultra rich snob, who is downright mean. Alex comes back into Charlie's life and the sparks have not been forgotten. There are plenty of hot-steamy moments that are fun to read. Alex is gorgeous and wants to be with Charlie. Yum. The witty dialogue that is this book, will keep you entertained and glued until you finish. The chapter titles, were so funny.Surprises and HEA, what more could we ask for?I love the book covers, they are so fitting to the story, and pretty to look at.Emily Hemmer has a gift of writing and sharing her humor with all who read her books. Enjoy, I sure did.Hysteria in Harlow County. Harlow Hee-Haw...My favorite line, "There's a crazy bitch in every family."

***warning: slight spoilers ahead***This hurts to write but I couldn't finish it. I reached the halfway mark, I think but I just couldn't do more than that. I tried. I think I picked it up and put it down countless times, always reading a sentence. But just... no. I love Emily Hemmer's style and her Wynn in Doubt is an absolute fave that's just one of THOSE books, you know? The ones that make you just sit back and think, contemplate. Rethink many many things. I also liked the first book in the Dangerously Dimpled series. It's funny and hot. This one is funny and hot too, don't get me wrong. But... The heroine's the backbone of the family. She takes care of everything and everyone. She put her dreams and everything aside, so others can fulfill theirs. I find this an incredibly selfless gesture and I also find her badass, because she rules over them all with a semi-iron fist. She does damage control, she fixes problems. In other words, she's strong. Then comes the hero, a guy she had a one-nightstand with, and there goes the strong heroine, turning into this weak and scared little girl. The one that starts questioning and regretting everything.I didn't like the hero. I strongly disliked him. He was an ass for leading her on and not staying away from her, when he KNEW he should and he was hurting her. He knew that too but did he care? No. He, unlike the heroine, was selfish. Hiding behind a sort of promise is a cowardly excuse. This is why I couldn't finish, this is why I can't give the first half - the Aunts were a hoot, I loved them - more than 2.5 stars. I'm sorry, this is my opinion.

    * I received a copy of this book, from the author, in exchange for an honest review. *My Review:Holy freakin' hotness! Charlie and Alex's story is a bit of a steamy one, and boy, it is awesome!I absolutely loved Charlie the whole way through the book! She's strong, confident, sexy and sassy. She's so loving and nurturing, and she is not afraid to stand up and fight for her family, I just couldn't find any flaws in her character at all!And Alex... well, thanks to Emily's fabulous descriptives, yes, I rather liked him too! Ha! But seriously, yes Alex is hot, however he is also thoughtful, romantic, charming and witty and is prepared to give up everything for the woman he loves... swoon!Plus None has a fantastic balance between romance, comedy and serious, heartfelt story line.Ms Hemmer has such a wonderful talent, it's truly amazing how in one moment your eyes can be filling up, your nose prickling with emotion and yet, in the next breath, you're bent over double, holding your stomach, laughing out loud! You want someone/something to compare Plus None to? Tara Sivec's Chocolate Lover's series. Honestly. Emily's writing made me laugh just as much, a gripping story line, plenty of tension, hot and steamy, but with family love and loyalty having a big part to play, too.Having a down day? Pick up a copy of Plus None, you'll soon be feeling better, I promise!!!5***** !!!***Review has been done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official. For more information regarding our reviews please visit our Fansite: www.facebook.com/NerdGirl.ng***

I really enjoyed Plus None. It Keep my interested and I love the story line. This is about a Girl named Charlie ( Charlotte ), She is a strong amazing girl that had to grow up to fast and take on the world, she was so used to taking care of everyone else she forgot to live her life and not be scared to do it. Her baby sister Paige is getting married and Charlie is dreading going, It’s been two years since she seen Alex and not a day has went by that she has tried to push the man from her thoughts. She knew it was the right thing to do by walking away. After all there from two different world it would never work. Charlie has come face to face with Alex after two long years and all her feeling come rushing back but she is determined to keep them locked away. And get her sisters wedding over with and fast. So Alex is out of her life once again. But Life has it’s ways of not always going the way you want it to. Alex isn’t giving up this time, But Charlie doesn’t know Alex has a huge secret that will ruin any chance he had of happiness with Charlie and makes her believe even more that they can never be there from two different worlds. Will Charlie stop letting everyone need her for once and will she let her self be the one needing taking care of. You’ll have to read to fine out! Wow! This was a fantastic story! The chemistry between Charlie and Alex was H.O.T. (no matter how hard they fought it). This book is fun, Charlie's family was very entertaining. I loved the chapter headings and the fact that Amber (from The Break-Up Psychic) was in this book too, she's a fascinating one and I'd love even more of her. This book was also gut-wrenching and it really affected me. Poor Charlie kept getting kicked when she was down and it broke my heart. Cadence is one hell of a bitch for most of this book. I really felt for Charlie and the way she was treated by her sister's rich friends. And the heartbreak that Alex inflicted over and over again (even if that wasn't his intention). This is the fourth book of Emily's that I've read and I love her style! I love the humour that shines throughout. He smiles widely and I'm treated to two impish dimples. "Sorry."I'd like to reach across the table and wipe those dimples clean off his face. That I wish I could do so with my tongue only fuels my frustration.I recommend that you read Just One first! For one it is damn sexy, but it will also give you a great insight into these characters. A beautiful story!

As posted on The Smutty Kitty reviewed by KittyKelly4 out of 5 LicksThere is no denying Emily Hemmer is hilarious! She keeps my laughing almost the entire time when I am reading her books. After reading Just One I couldn't wait to get my hands on Plus None. All the best stories have some conflict to them and while I thoroughly enjoyed this book (stayed up all night to finish it) I couldn't help but feel like the conflict was just silly. Alex could have solved all the issues but he chose to be kinda wussy about the whole thing. I wound up frustrated with him more often than not. I swayed back and forth with Charlie at times too. While her redneck family was amusing at times it got to be a bit too much. With that being said, I still really enjoyed the book. Emily has an amazing ability to bring humor and sexiness into the book. You could feel the electricity between these two and in the end I did find myself rooting for a happy ending. If you want a book that will make you laugh out loud this is it.

I loved this book! It had my attention the whole way through. The hope and hopelessness in the book is palpable as well as the love that's between Charlie and Alex. There are so many obstacles to overcome between the two of them!! I like how the seeming villain of the book turns out to be somewhat of a heroine...I love Charlie's family, they are so great (can't say as I wouldn't be a bit embarrassed by them myself...) and show just how much family should stick together. I love that Alex was willing to lose everything for Charlie and I loved that Charlie finally stood up for herself in the end. I was TRULY surprised and happy with how Cadence turned out. Ms. Hemmer builds some really strong characters that are very believable. Really a great read!!! The book just goes to show you, be who you are, don't front, it's hardly worth it in the end.

Plus None by Emily Hemmer was delightful, funny, set in Texas, a great romance and gave an indebted look at the redneck lifestyle from the inside of a truly unique and devoted redneck family. The chapter titles were a hoot and when he supporting cast of cousin characters and the aunts got going the fun was non-stop. Set them up against the high society of Dallas oil money families and the rednecks give a delightful showing of what family values mean. It you are looking for a funny, romantic novel with a great story, lots of redneck fun and a kick-ass good time, this book is for you.I want to thank Emily Hemmer and Goodreads First Reads program for the opportunity to win Plus None that I enjoyed reading from the first page to the last.

I totally did not see that coming when I got to the end of the prequel. Charlie was still the sassy trailer princess with an entire family as her rock when she was their support. I could have choked Paige for being a brat and not sticking by family but I guess her reason made a little sense. Cadence the bitch of the wicked west finally grew up. Which was good because she ticked me off from the beginning. On to my honey Alex who was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Sex on wheels who wanted something for himself. That was the best line outside of page one. Barry half cousin reasoning still has me laughing.Thank you Emily for another hilarious book and well written masterpiece, bring on more dimples....

I was a Goodreads First Reads winner and boy am I glad too! This book was like reading something that could have happened straight out of my hometown. I'm from the South and a Southern Girl by default. We like our four wheelers, our bonfires, and our teas ice cold and sweetened with sugar. We like to party and we like a cold drink when we dance. Our families are a bit crazy, but that's why we love them. Coming home is always sweet because everyone you meet treats you like they're family. This book was a little bit like that. Hemmer wrote a book that captures the characters in their bests moments. They're lovable and likable. Plus None is a laugh out loud story that has you rolling from the very first page. Pick up the book, you wont regret it!

It's like Emily Hemmer just gets better and better with every dang book she puts out! I loved The Break-Up Psychic and Just One was hilarious but Plus None had me rolling on my ass with laughter. Emily has such a way with her words -- she can make a scene both hilarious and steamy and sad yet hopeful. I loved Charlie and her trailer park living family and attitude. She is a total girl from the South but it totally works on her. She does it well. And Alex. Wowza. He was hot in Just One, but in Plus None, HE. IS. TO. DIE. FOR.If you're looking for a sexy, fun romp in the South -- this is your book! Emily is a talented and upcoming force to be reckoned with in the literary world, so keep your eyes on this one!

Review:When I started this book, I was hoping for more humor. Well, I was disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the book was great. It has a great story line that moves the book along. It has great characters from the first book, that blend very well into this book. It even has great discribition of the settings. It just lacks the laughter that was in the first book. The character, Charlie, is just lacking in humor department this time around. I just felt that she needed to be more humorous since her world was changing.4 Stars

Had to order as soon as I finished Just One last night. Stayed up too late to read the whole book. I couldn't wait to see how the story would continue with Charlie and Alex and I was very happy to see how Emily continued these two characters story. I loved Charlie's family definitely made me laugh aloud. I love that Charlie and Alex story. It was also quite a steamy read. Great story going on. Well Done Emily Hemmer.

I was so glad when this book came out. I was dying to read it after reading the first one. I have never laughed so hard or cried so hard in my life over a story. This takes family drama to a whole new level. Between three outspoken Aunts and the dropped on thier heads cousins I don't know what was more hilarious. There are a few parts to the book that are sad but for the most part it is funny. It teaches you that money isn't everything but family is. Loved this book. Everyone should read it!

loved the small town feel in this stories. sometimes, the side characters can really make the book, and this was one of those cases where they brought so much to the story.
