I was lucky enough to discover a few digital short series this week. First Impressions is the Grace deHaviland Bounty Hunter series. I like the fact that I can count on the next read if I enjoy the characters and the stories. What is the story on the story, well, check it out: ”When you're a bounty hunter, making snap judgments about people will often save your life. But what if those first impressions are wrong? When Grace deHaviland chases a bail jumper to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, a long way from her home turf of Columbus, Ohio, she may discover the answer -- with deadly consequences.”David DeLee really packs a lot of action, humor, and twists and turns into this digital short. Grace the bounty hunter is a very nice character and I am glad that this is not a one-time deal, I enjoyed her moxie and spunk and look forward to reading about her further exploits.I almost forgot to share the author info with you: ”David DeLee was born and raised in New York, lived for eight years in Columbus, Ohio, but currently resides in New Hampshire. He holds a master's degree in Criminal Justice and is a former licensed private investigator. His previous short fiction has appeared in DAW's Cosmic Cocktails anthology and consecutive volumes of Strange New Worlds, published by Pocket Books. His short story Bling, Bling, also featuring bounty hunter, Grace deHaviland, will appear in the Mystery Writers of America anthology, The Rich and the Dead, edited by Nelson DeMille and published by Grand Central Publishing, in the spring 2011.”Have you tried the digital shorts yet? With me, as you can see they have become a regular part of my reading week. I read them at different times in different places: my laptop at home or my smartphone when I am picking up the kids at school. They are convenient and come in the right size, they fit all needs and the price is right. Why not give this author and his hard work a shot, click the Amazon button and download this bad boy, the cost is little , the return great. What are you reading today? First Impressions introduces us to Grace deHaviland who is a Bounty Hunter. She is planning on arresting a man who has run away from his bond. When she gets to the town, she goes to the local sheriff and tells him why she is there. He decides to go with her while she makes the arrest. She isn't happy about this but can't very well tell him he can't go. It turns out he is a very big help to Grace.I like Grace and want to read more books with her in them. I enjoyed this novella but if it had been longer we could have found out more about Grace. There seemed to be some interest between Grace and the Sheriff but that didn't go anywhere. This was a good book and the story line was well thought out. The surprise at the end was terrific.

First Impressions is a short story. Grace deHaviland is a bounty hunter. She reports in to the local sheriffs office to let them know that she is going to make an arrest. She does not hit it off too well with the sheriff, but he insists on coming with her and she is not happy about it. They get to the house. The sheriff goes round the back and Grace goes to the front ... An enjoyable quick read and a nice intro to the character for a series of novels.

The Very short story was well written. The characters were believable and the plot exciting. However, I have read many short stories/novellas, but I didn't care for the length of this at all. It is only ONE chapter! This story would have been better suited to lead into a deeper relationship working together with other cases, and not as a single, brief case.

This free Kindle download short story was okay; I like it but actually would have enjoyed it more if it had been a full-length novel. I believe that more of the story would have captured me even more.

This short story introduces us to Grace who is a bounty hunter. It was a good read although due to the shortness of it, I didn't feel as if I really got to know the characters very well. But the little twist at the ending was a very nice surprise!

The story was fast paced and believable with characters you could really enjoy and get to know! I am glad to see this is the intro to a series. I will for sure be looking into the other books in the series. A great short read to help us get to know Grace that leaves the reader wanting more! :)

This short story is too short - wish it had been a novella at the very least. Grace is an engaging character and the sheriff even more so.The surprising twist at the end lifted it to a wonderful level and gave it great charm.More more more of Grace and her sheriff!!

This was a very short story, but I don't think I would've enjoyed a whole novel. Thankfully, it was over quickly. I simply didn't identify with the main character, and the plot was thin. I doubt I will read any more books in this series.

Uh, this book was only ONE chapter long. I don't think it was even long enough to qualify as a short story. The story had potential; too bad it was too short to actually draw a reader in.

Good shirt story. Not a lot going on but does show the extent a parent will go for their child...

Good story and liked the characters. I was happy with the not so typical ending for a bounty hunter. I would read other books by this author.

I thought this was pretty good. Don't know whether this is the author's first book but he shows promise. It held my interest. Moved at a good pace.
