Guardians II: A Farewell to Carlos Santiago Reviews
This book is for young adults, and a great read from the very first paragraph to the last page. I found myself wanting to keep going and keep reading to see what happens next. The author did a great job with the pace and voice of the characters. It has many goods qualities to make it a great tale.Robert Mackie rescues his two nephews from a gang of Vampires who kept them for years in a cave. In this attempt he kills many of the Vampires with the help of Carlos Santiago who is now dead. The vampires want to kill Robert in revenge and go out of their way to find and attack him. What they don’t count on is that the nephews are product of the same stock as the uncle. All would be OK if they were the only people he is fighting in order to take his nephews to safety and to a father who is in comma. But two opposite gangs have become united to get Robert away from their businesses and are in siege awaiting his trip to the airport, from where he may never depart. This is book two of the series, and I read it without reading the first one. It is a nice piece of work and I enjoyed the tale. The only thing I found wrong with it is the unnecessary swearing. Thankfully there was not too much. The plots are great and entertaining. The story is a completely new way to write a vampire novel with a fresh new approach. It would be enjoyed by new Young Adults and adults alike.
