It started off a little slow, but once it picked up it was a doozy!! I love when a book gives you that "OH S**T" moment. And that is exactly what happen.

Witness Protection by Ursula Duke was a very intense and suspenseful read! Independent and good girl, Madison was in 'the wrong place at the wrong time' and managed to witness two murders landing her in the Witness Protection program under the care of US Marshalls. Author, Duke thoroughly researched valid information about the crime ofsex trafficking while dealings with the cruel antagonist, Crime Lord, Ricardo Castillo who was responsible for the killings that Madison saw. So Castillo was hell bent on ending Madison's life by putting a hit on her head so his ruthless deeds wouldn't be revealed to anyone. There was a bit of an attraction/romance with Madison and a hero, Cole but the intent of this suspenseful thriller was more so on the Madison and the Witness Protection program, sex trafficking as a crime and heroine trying to get her life on course. All in all, "Witness Protection" was an engaging story that ended with a possible book in the future. 4 intense stars ****!!!

Witness Protection is one of those books that grabbed me from the beginning. The settings were very descriptive and I like that in a book. The heroine Madison, was a strong woman who wanted to do the right thing.Loved the whole United States Marshall's, they were sensitive yet bad ass.The chemistry between Madison and Cole was more than a bit spicy, but I liked how their attraction was not acted upon. There was restraint on both sides and that is how it should be. Attraction between people is natural, its the choice of whether or not to act on it that gets some of us in trouble. The author clearly did some good research on the subject of sex trafficking and it shows. Very well done.I am a woman who enjoys action as well as romance, and this book has both and then some, would highly recommend!

Good read. Liked everything from the descriptive details that went into the world of sex trafficking and the chemistry between Madison and Cole was steamy. But since he is married, neither acted on those impulses, but that only made the characters more believable. Because attraction is attraction, whether or not we choose to act upon it is our decision. When she meets Tristan, i don't think she forgets about Cole, I think she realizes that there is no hope so why should she continue to want something that she cannot have? That's the feeling i got from it. I also liked the addition of Tristan's daughter, she wasn't one of those oh you cant be happy... kind of kids. Nice chemistry between Madison and Tristan's daughter Zoe. I highly recommend this book .

3.5 stars. There's a bit of action. A bit of suspense and a nice mix of romance thrown in. One of the things I didn't like was the whole Madison and Cole drama. I feel like it was unnecessary and somewhat immature...especially when Madison got to Maine and pulled that over-acting stunt at the airport and later at the bbq. Just my 2 cents. I felt like it was wrong of both of them but it seemed like she was trying to place most/majority of the blame on Cole. Overall this was a pretty good read and I would definitely try something else by the author.

Witness Protection is another informative story and it has lots of action, drama and suspense. I thought the chemistry between Madison and Cole was very hot. But then along came Tristan and although his attraction to her was more subtle, their chemistry was still intense.Another good book from this new author.

I liked the love triangle between the characters. The story moved along at a good pace. I liked the little twist and turns towards the end of the book. It added more suspense to the story. I liked that Madison was strong and independent, she wasn’t weak and looking for someone to take care of her. Great read!

Thought this book was an excellent read. I thoroughly enjoyed how it held more than just the romance aspect. It had a bit of action in it as well and was more than informative. I gave this book five stars because it held everything that i enjoy in a book. romance, suspense, intrigue, a good amount of revenge and held my interest the entire way through. Bravo to this new author.

The book is harder to read due to the lack of paragraph and character transitions - I did find myself having to re-read sections to verify that in fact, the POV did change. Beyond that, it was a cute story and while not easy to read, it was fun. I found the plot to be pretty standard, but there was one plot twist that did have me on the edge of my seat for a few minutes.

This book was exciting and intense! Crime, drama, romance, and intrigue all blended into one amazing story. A roller coaster of emotions follows our female lead, and you just can't help but get swept away with her. Once again, Ms. Dukes has created a cast of characters sure to steal the heart!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Like other reviewers, i thought it was very well researched. I liked how this author shows the in's and out's of sex trafficking .the scenes were descriptive and there were parts that had action and I like a little action in my books.Yes there was romance and some good sex scenes, but this book was more than just that.Good plot and loved the scene when she's in her room packing up a few things.... that's all i'm going to say about that.Great Book. Ursula Dukes has become one of my favorite authors.

Witness protectionI chose to give 5 stars because the author touch on subjects that going on in our world now. Except for some minor details like spelling the author gave a complete profile of sex and drug trafficking. I would recommend this novel to read. I also thought that Madison was a exceptional person considering her means of survival. I would buy another novel by Ms Dukes

I nice read but easy to anticipate most of the major parts of the plot. In the first few chapters there is a lot of repetativeness. There will be a paragraph about a character's past experience or how they feel about that experience. Then a few paragraphs later it will be the same subject matter just slightly reworded. While this may not be a deterrent for some, I find it irritating.

Great book. Can't wait for the sequel. Glad that the author decided to write a sequel. I hope that Cole and Madison find a way to be together. I liked the elements of real life crime and how the court system worked. I could tell that the author did her research. Well done.
