"Politics under the microscope - not a pretty sight"It was Ronald Reagan who remarked that the second oldest profession bore a remarkable similarity to the first; and who was it who said 'power corrupts' etcetera. On both sides of the Atlantic we are all too aware of the seedy side of life that attaches itself to politics. Or is it the other way around? I had absolutely no problem identifying with the characters in this book and their strengths and their frailties. Frank Bennington and Colin O'Shea stood out for me, but the remaining main characters and the few 'extras' that only touched the story briefly, every one of them was perfectly observed. The characters needed the right setting and in every scene, whether in the corridors of power, the clubs, and bars, the apartments or on the streets of Washington, it was real enough to touch. A superbly crafted thriller.

Political corruption in the capitol. This is a well written story of corruption in the capitol city from veteran politician with a lifetime of experience and desires to be the commander in chief. When a new up and comer to the political arena arrives to shake things up. The story is well written and the characters are developed and relatable. The journey takes you on a twisted path through the political underworld and keeps you guessing what will happen next. Enjoyable and fun read. Would recommend this to all the action drama folks out there.

This one started strong it I enjoyed it less the more I read. While not a particularly difficult read as the chapters are short and he moves the story along, it seemed more and more implausible as it progressed. I don't know much about this author but the storyline seemed to me as if it were written by a right wing political hack. I doubt I will read anything else by Mr. Ulsterman.

Nothing special here. A sleazy politician, his reprobate chief of staff, the naive new hire staffer, the Russian call girl with her Russian mob madam and Russian mob enforcer. Add to that the congressman's wife with her aspirations and the vetting of the congressman for a possible V.P. slot, and you can just about see the plot without bothering to read the short novel. The congressman and his obsession with the call girl reminded me of the Burt Reynolds character in the movie Stripper with Demi Moore. Just as over the top. In fact, I thought the author overwrote all of the characters, but that's just me.

OMG An American and a Russian - the bombWow. And I mean wow.. I could not put this book down. Great plot, sequencing of events and simple language. I loved it. The mental image of Kat was so real and that Colin O Shea character was superb. Hats off to the author.

A riveting tale about DC power and abuse. An easy read, kept me turning the page and confirming my suspicions about Washington politics. Is the democratic party really that corrupt?

Pretty good political storyIt's true, politics is a dirty game; but even dirtier when you workFor Congressman Latner. He pays for a high priced prostitute and spends little time with his family.

A good storyConsidering most politicians are vain, self absorbed fools , this work of fiction builds on something that we know as truth and are familiar with. Hookers, drugs, booze, and murder, oh my! Also the concept of Democrats good, Republicans bad is given a good going over as well. Worth the effort
