5 Savage me starsSet in London, 1907, with the death of the man she was forced to marry, a man forty years her senior, Evelyn Hart was used to living a lonely sheltered life but always wanted more; setting off on an adventure to celebrate her new independence, her goal is to find intrigue and to shed her meek and obliging shell that she was forced to wear for so long. Looking for lust in all the right places, her attention is drawn by a strong dominating force, Lord Savage. "That is the Earl of Savage, my dear, Savage by name, and likewise by inclination. There is such an air of danger about him that makes him quite irresistible. "Knowing deep down this is the man she has been searching for; a man who claims their meeting was kismet, a man who with one look could make her burn from the inside out, a man who is more than capable of sating her desires and more...But Lord Savage would take me, claim me, ravish me, make me wild with joy, and then smile, and kiss me, and make me laugh softly, as if I were the only woman in his world.Accepting an invitation to Lady Carleigh's Wrenton Manor, aka Wanton Manor, she sets off on an sexual adventure knowing she will return a changed woman. But when her wildest dreams prove to be a tiny blimp in all things possible, she finally realizes just how blindly innocent she truly is, for there is much to learn and there is no better teacher than Lord Savage.I was playing a role. I had to remember that. I was no longer Ms. Arthur Hart, but an Innocent, a beautiful, brazen Innocent, desiring to please and be please by my Protector. Lord Savage has pure sheer masculine arrogance dripping out from his pores, he knows what he wants and who he needs; never making any promises of making love, falling in love or a future....just pleasurable bliss unlike she has ever known. Known for his uncontrollable temper and insatiable appetite, people began to wonder and assume the worst when he chooses to keep his Eve locked in his quarters, unwilling to share her with anyone else, even if it is just for a peek. "You have blinded me to all the others. I can think of nothing but touching you, smelling you, tasting you, fucking you, and I would kill any other man who tried to take you from me."A week is all they had, a week as an Innocent and a Protector, and damned if she was going to waste any time dwelling on fantasies and dreams "I had to remember that the intimacy of our bodies had nothing to do with the intimacy of our souls and hearts. " But it is hard to keep in line when they are playing the part of Innocent & Protector and man & woman, especially when the man you think you know is much more than you ever expected. Trying to be brave and enjoy their last few moments together, she promises herself to breakdown as soon as she is in the privacy of her own quarters. It was as if I'd been sleepwalking for the first twenty-five years of my life, going through my days in a genteel, empty haze. Like a prince in a fairy tale, Savage had kissed me and brought me to life. What a beautifully erotic surprise this was, Lord Savage sounded like an excitingly hot historical read, but it was all that and more. There was a certain depth with in the story and it's characters that I wasn't anticipating. Lord Savage lived up to his name, but even he was no match for Eve and her innocence, awakening the man inside. Evelyn was truly an sexual innocent, requiring training on the most basic of things. She had an inner battle with what she wanted and what she grew up knowing was right and proper, with her body and desires winning each time. Not knowing what they were both up against, they both had a lot to learn from each other. A very pleasurable read, that although had an ending of a sort, there is promises of more. Truly enjoyed this read, and would recommend it regardless if you enjoy historical or not, because the focus was not on the time but a game well played between a man and a woman. I received an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.Well, I hate to be the one to write the first negative review, but someone's gotta do it.I guess I never realized it before, but I hate alpha males. At least, I hate them as they're portrayed in any work of fiction I've read. They're man-children prone to unnecessary temper tantrums, such as throwing crystal tumblers against walls when they wake up and find their little lady missing from bed/the room. Because how dare she use the bathroom without clearing it with him first?Perhaps Savage's reaction is justified, given that he doesn't want Eve roaming the house alone since there's a lusty baron out to "claim" her. The baron, along with Savage and Eve and several others, are guests as a country house for the week, engaging in all sorts of sexual amusement. It's called the Game, and there are rules. Except ... when there are not rules. Or there are rules only when it's convenient to the story. The baron wants Eve? He cites the rules. Everyone thinks Savage and Eve are spending too much time in his rooms? The rules are cited. WHAT ARE THESE RULES??? Nobody seems to follow them, and nobody really explains them to Eve beforehand. I guess they're there for safety reasons, but if the baron is just waiting for his chance to grab Eve despite having a partner of his own, they don't really matter.Another "rule" is that Eve is supposed to address Savage as Master and never question him. She forgets all the time and he berates the hell out of her for it. Yet he slips "in and out of the Game so easily that it was often difficult for me to tell when he was playing and when he wasn't." So basically he punishes and shames her for being confused by him, because he can't stay in character. Everything she says, most of which is kind or well-meaning, he turns into an insult or sign of disrespect.I'd already learned to my sorrow that even the mildest of words could turn treacherous with him.RUN AWAY, EVE!!!Well, tantrums and possessiveness aside, Savage is prone to sexism. A very subtle kind, delineating the differences between men and women. Men and women are different, of course. But a person doesn't have to say so in such a condescending way."...loneliness affects women in different ways than it does men, and given the warm nature of most women, it must be more difficult for them to bear."How touching. But no.There's also a mention of "female fussing." Eve is kind of sexist too, since she believes all men have tempers when angry. Guess what, Eve? Pretty much everyone loses their temper sometimes. ESPECIALLY WHEN ANGRY.Savage is also confused by how a woman might feel upon being sexually assaulted. Because yes, even women at a gathering solely for having sex can be sexually assaulted! Who knew?He frowned. "You were frightened by a drunkard pawing over your leg?"Uh, yes, that is frightening. Sorry to break it to you, chap. And it would be bad enough if all the drunkard did was "paw" at her leg. But he pulled up her clothing and stuck his hand between her legs.A lot of the interaction between Savage and Eve is attributed to their type of play—domination and submission. And Eve consents to most of it. But they never agreed on a safe word, so there's no way for Eve to tell him to stop. Which she does when he ties her to the bed. He doesn't stop, of course. When she struggles against the cords, she gets abrasions and bruises. It's her fault, she admits. She shouldn't have struggled! Luckily, she finds peace in her submission when he finally unties her. She is "worthy."Like many alphas before him, Savage is a jealous type. Eve puts on nothing but a long strand of pearls to please him (he had mentioned something about this earlier, I believe), and he gets angry because another man gave her the pearls. So he gives her a new strand! Now he doesn't have to be jealous anymore!Everyone is concerned about how Eve has changed Savage. They're worried about her because he's hiding her away in his rooms instead of frolicking about the estate like usual. And they want to bring this earlier version of him back, apparently. When Eve wistfully mentions this earlier version, he gets angry at the look in her eyes. Jealous. THE MAN IS JEALOUS OF HIMSELF.There is so much more I could say about this book, but this review is getting rather long. This is a romance novel with extra sex and less plot. "Erotica," if you will. Except the sex is really banal and the dirty talk is boring and repetitive.I'm glad some readers are finding positives in this book, but it wasn't for me. I wouldn't have finished it if I weren't reviewing it for Netgalley.P.S. One thing completely unrelated to sex that really annoyed me? An aristocrat saying money doesn't matter. AHAHAHA. Shut the hell up.

Liked the idea, the setting and the writing itself but Lord Savage shows nothing and because of that I didn't care what happened. I may try the next book just to see what happens but I'm in no rush.

When I started this book, I was prepared for a fun romp in the hay, so to speak--for the book is 90% sex. What I was NOT prepared for, however, was a mentally unhinged main male character. At first, I just rolled my eyes at Savage's ultra alpha male-ness. It was a bit over the top, but eh, whatever, it's all in good fun. However, as the book wore on, I became more and more disturbed by him. He's a dramatic crybaby, to be sure, but that's the least of his problems. He's sexist. He's physically violent--he nearly killed a man. He's mentally abusive. He freaked out any time Eve left his sight, even if just to use the bathroom. He constantly guilted her into "never leaving him." He talked about how his ex-wife had mental issues. Lol son, she could not have been as bad as you. He was damn near bipolar.I'm sorry, but he is the complete opposite of everything I find sexy. He ruined the book for me, honestly.

This is exactly my kind of book, that special, elusive, perfect erotic historical. And there's no better setting for one than a country house party cum orgy. I loved everything about this, from the mysterious, sexy hero to the adventurous, willing heroine. Sex permeates the entire novel; not just between them, it's in the air. It's bold and shocking, Fifty Shades for the historical set, but better. The best part is it's a trilogy and the premise for the sequel has me panting. Even the layout of this trilogy is very Fifty Shades-reminiscent, and I can't wait! Lord Savage is very similar to Sin by Sharon Page, one of my all-time favorite romances.

Ohh la la!! Who would've thought I'd be giving a Historical Fiction book five stars?! Not I. But I'm officially in love with Lord Savage! The story was amazing. I Definitely will read more of Lord Savage's story. I DID enjoy the historical aspect of this book BUT I don't think I will be reading non-stop Historical Fiction from now on because of this book.

Thanks to netgalley for a free read in exchange for a review. This was a very EROTIC book, wow. Author did a great job of identifying and intensifying the chemistry between Eve and Lord Savage. Damn aptly named as well. This book throws in a bit of kink with a long week away from London at a private residence where anything goes. Enjoyed it immensely.

I don't know why I waited so long to read this. It was really good. I still don't like HF as a genre on the whole but add some smuttiness to it and it's awesome. Looking forward to seeing how Evie grows and if Savage can keep up with her.

Title: Lord SavageAuthor: Mia GabrielPublisher/Year: St Martin's Press 9/9/14Length: 214 PagesSeries: The Savage Trilogy #1OverviewI’d never felt so vulnerable, at once both lost and found, as I now did sprawled half-naked across Savage in this foolish throne-chair. His strength was my solace, my comfort, and there was nothing better than hearing the beating of his heart beneath my ear.Once trapped in a loveless, pleasure-less marriage, Evelyn Hart leaves her home in New York for the glittering ballrooms of London. When she arrives, she meets the Earl of Savage, a dark, powerful man who seems to live up to his name. Despite his noble trappings, he’s also a man who can possess her with just one look. Soon Evelyn finds herself pulled into Savage's world - a world of passion and seductive games unlike any she has ever experienced. Evelyn's heart is captured with no hope of escape. But can they overcome the tortures of the past together...?Savage never imagined someone like Evelyn walking into his life. As soon as he sees her he knows he must have her, no matter the cost, in Lord Savage by Mia Gabriel. My ThoughtsIt's been a while since i've gone back into the realm of 'historic romance' - more like since i was last in high school, save for the one off by Sylvia Day that i've read in the time period, but in this instance, we get an interesting mix of old school romance, with a strong mix of naughty erotica. We meet our leading lady - Eve when she's escaped to London to be on her own and independent for the first time in her life. She's from one of the most established families in America, and she was married off at a young age in order to solidify her father's business. Now that they are all gone, she's going to sow her wild oats at her ripe age of 25. It's at a party hosted by Lord and Lady Carleigh that her world flips upside down - after coming across a man and woman engaged in a rather active and dirty act - something that she'd never seen before, and in seeing this, awakens something inside her that craves it. And it's not just the act that she sees that she craves, but the man himself. Lady Carliegh invites Eve and the man (Lord Savage) to her country house for a private party of a few other guests - and the nature of this party is something that even Eve could have never imagined. Maids say that this party is coined as Wanton House - and Eve soon learns that it's exactly that.Setting out to learn more about sex and about herself and what she craves, we go on a journey of coming into oneself - for both Savage and Eve. Both have been trapped in a life that's not of their own creation, and coming together is not just steamy and passionate, but it's also deep and emotional. I think that i don't just speak for myself when i say that i was rooting for this couple to be more than just a week fling, but the nature of this story - you know that there's an expiration date and that things will come to an end. Given that it's a trilogy, i think that we were left in a great place - not the typical cliff hanger of a series, but one of tension, yet intrigue of the unknown. The question becomes whether Savage truly is dangerous like everyone thinks, whether the feelings that they started to develop for one another are real, and what will the rest of London do to keep them apart. The only downfall that i have to say i found with this story is that the wording was periodic to align with the time of the story, but out of my usual vocabulary. I found that it sounded almost unnatural at times to listen to these conversations, especially when it felt like during some of the hotter scenes they went back and forth between 'old english' and current wording - but the detail in each of the scenes was enough to get me past. Enjoy - and i guess we'll have to see what happens in book 2.

I really wasn't sure what I expected when I was given a copy of this for an honest review , I have never read a historical romance with a splash of erotica involved but I was completely blown away by the story line . Not once was I disappointed . The characters are written with such passion and the author did a fantastic job making each one stand out above the rest . The plot in this book is so good you really don't know what to expect every time you turn the page . Something new is there to push you past your normal historical romance . Lord Savage is a very strong alpha character , He is the type of man who knows he is every women's dream and knows how to use it to his advantage . He isn't used to not getting what he wants , he also has a deep past that he doesn't let anyone see . Mrs Hart is a young widow from America in search of that deep desire , that longing for the sexual experience . She was married into a marriage of convenience , And is longing for what she has only heard from in passing . She doesn't care if what she is seeking is classed as scandalous . Coming from money she is used to getting what she wants without having to ask twice . The storyline starts out with the pair meeting at a ball , Under scandalous reasons . They soon realise that for different reasons they both want each other. They both get invited to the country for a house party thrown by a very scandalous couple . Once at the country house they find themselves involved in a game of Protector and the Innocent . This turns the story line into a heated mix , They both soon realise all is not as it seems and they seem to be fighting there own feelings towards each other . And everyone else in the house. After all this is a week long party of scandal where anything goes , And everything and anything is allowed .A huge congratulations to the author on a fantastic plot that keeps you guessing every step of the way . Once you think you have it worked out you are blown out of the water once again . In my opinion this book is well worth the read .

Lord SavageMia GabrielThis story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. It was the year 1907 and Mrs. Evelyn Hart found herself a widow. Now it seems that her marriage was to a much older man, an arranged marriage for business purposes at the hands of her father and now that she is a widow she wants to discover a little bit of life before and if she ever remarries. She attends many balls and get togethers but is disappointed with the suitors that she finds. They are all very boring and studious. The only highlight one evening is when she plays the voyeur to Lord Savage in the garden in a sexual act. She is in despair at never finding the adventure she craves when she meets Lady Carleigh and is invited for a week in the country. Here she starts her sexual adventure. She is quickly paired with Lord Savage and becomes his Innocent for the week. He is her Dom and she is the sub. Paired with the sensual shows that he hostess has provided, and the erotic dinner set up one evening her nights with Lord Savage make all her sexual dreams a reality. He is dark and foreboding, he gives her many orgasms, introduces her to oral sex and her first spanking. He is all that he is looking for in a lover but he is very deep and closes much of his emotions off to her. He is untouchable and she is craving this closeness. He also believes that they are to be together just for this week. He is actually a favored guest as these games and attends them regularly. This story is the beginning of a trilogy and I will definitely have to read all three of these stories in order to have all my questions answered. I loved the mixture of BDSM and Victorian dress. The characters were well fleshed out and the sex scenes were definitely hot. I loved the power interchange between them and thought that Lord Savage made a great Dom. Looking forward to book two. I would rate 4/5

Let me begin by saying that this book held no actual storyline or depth, however, considering the genre most who read it won't exactly be reading it for a deep plot, will they? We begin with Mrs. Evelyn Hart, a newly made widow from New York travels to England. There she meets Lady Carleigh at a party and when Mrs. Evelyn Hart feels a touch overwhelmed finds herself escaping to the gardens. What she sees there will change the course of her immediate life - In the Garden "rutting like a stallion" in the open is Lord Savage, an Earl. He's renowned for his sinful ways and prowess. While he's partaking in a rather open coupling Evelyn Hart spies on him, watches him and is intrigued. What happens after that thrusts [har, har!] Evelyn into a curious week of curiosities and pleasure. The characters in this story lack depth and there really isn't much story play. There wasn't much substance to this book at all and that includes the sex. Yes, there are scenes and a multitude of them at that, but for me, they seem to lack quality. The quantity is certainly there! However, what saves it is the fact that this is a fluff book while it is a sex-laden story it is still fluff. For that, I will give it's due rating of 2.8 stars which comes out to be 3.Visit my Blog

I received this ARC from Net Galley in return for a review. This book is outside my usual reading-comfort-zone, but there aren't many historical eroticas out there, so I was intrigued enough to give it a try. Wow, was I glad I did! Not only does this book have the sizzle you'd expect, but I also really liked the setting, a debauched Edwardian country house party. Think of a very adult 'Masterpiece Theater.' Unlike so many hot books, the author actually can WRITE, and spent time developing the characters. Like another reviewer wrote, I appreciated that the heroine was as rich as the hero, and wasn't a poor innocent virgin being corrupted by an older man. (Sorry Mr. Gray) These were two adults in it for pleasure alone, and the attraction that grew between them kept me ripping through the pages. Can't wait for the next installment!

NetGalley Free BookLord Savage has a past that he is hiding behind. He sleeps with just about any female that wants him but he does it on his terms. Evelyn was trapped in a loveless and sexually unfulfilling marriage. Now that she is a widow she wants excitment and to know what she has been missing. One night she goes to a party in London and sees Lord Savage having sex in the garden. It not only intrigues her but now she wants him. This story was off the reservation. I loved the plot and concept. It is rare that I give BDSM books a 4-star review but this one deserves it. The sex scenes were wonderful and the story had some really dark sides to it that was totally unexpected. It had me in thought when usually I am just pleasure reading. The characters were wonderfully written. The author did a fabulous job of laying out this story and following through to the end.

I have not read these kind of books. You know the old romance novels. I figured this was a good one to start with. Lord Savage is an alpha male. I mean, a very wealthy one too. Evelyn has an awakening. I understand everything that goes on with the manor and the sex. This author was very creative with her writing I found myself thoroughly enjoying my as self. I wanted Savage to come to his senses and did he? If course, I am not telling you!!! Well, I am off to the next. I will definitely be reading the next one in this series! It did finish a little abrupt to me. Would definitely enjoy more of these characters.l I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley for my honest review. Thank you, Net galley!

This is the kind of non-supernatural Regency romance I can get into. This is erotica. Plain and simple. There isn’t any chase with this book, and it’s certainly not chaste. There’s little concern for propriety and far more concern for whose getting plugged where. While I kind of missed the sexual build-up that comes with more romance-minded Regency, mainly because the payoff is usually fireworks, I’m not complaining with LORD SAVAGE. It delivered in the bed department over and over and over again.I like it when sex in books isn’t boring and the author takes care to mix things up. While that’s probably not true to life for many people it makes the read a whole hell of a lot more entertaining. Gabriel didn’t let me down there. Each scene was different, with varying levels of hedonism and a lighter element of BDSM that keeps temperatures risen but also points out the darker side of all of that. Where Savage often asks Evelyn about consent, there are members of the Game that care nothing for that. And since the rules of the Game are that each Protector is free to do educate his or her Innocent how they deem fit it’s allowed, although not necessarily accepted. You get to see that in Blackledge, a rather abhorrent character that takes what he wants and doesn’t see his woman of desire as a human being but merely a fuckable bitch there to do as he commands. But even outside the confines of the Game he often oversteps his bounds and is put in his place by a few people. It’s also clear that when Blackledge sets his sights on Evelyn there are people there, including the hosts, who rally around her to protect her from him. Why he’s not addressed accordingly is never made clear and while it appears that all of his particular participants have been previously willing people are aware that he can step off the ledge rather quickly and he’s kept pretty in check. Thankfully he’s not too prominent in the story. The Carleighs, the hosts of this Game, are rather sexually open and host this week-long event as a means for people to, well, unclench and step outside of such bounds of society to live a little. It’s definitely a master/servant set-up but both sexes play both roles so it seems that ALL societal norms are tossed out the window here, which I like. Aside from them and Blackledge you don’t see too many other characters enough to get a good grip on their personalities. Simpson a little since she’s Evelyn’s maid while in the Carleigh house but she’s a basic, gossipy maid whose only difference from a normal maid is her looks. Apparently she’s gorgeous where other maids are purposely plainer so as not to draw attention from their “better.”Lord Savage is a rather changeable character and I don’t really have my finger on his pulse. He’s gentle with Eve and caring and attentive to her desires, both sexual and romantic, but his mood changes on a dime and it makes him rather standoffish. He’s so hot and cold with Eve, blending that attitude in and out of the Game, that by the end of the book I was kind of hoping Eve would leave him behind despite their attachment to each other. He’s unpredictable. And then there was his violent outbreak at dinner when another participant fondled Eve (within the rules of the Game, it’s expected that the participants swap around Innocents with the notion of continuing their education). Savage beat another man for that and ostracized both him and Eve from the Game. Of course he has a damaged history so he has REASONS for his actions but personally, a man with that kind of propensity for violence isn’t one I’d want to be around. Even though he never turned that kind of rage on Eve it’s there and as his feelings for her swapped between protective to possessive it was hard to tell what was going to come out. It’s because of this that ultimately I don’t like Savage. He played too many games with Eve’s head outside of the Game and with his violence he can have all the butthurt he wants in his past. I don’t want to see it.I liked Eve, though. I think she struck a good balance between being a shocked socialite and wanting to break the bonds that she’d been put in all her life. She didn’t jump into the Game pell mell. Savage had to work at stripping away the old Eve and she did the rest to build up the new one. Actually, I liked both. Really, they’re the same people. The new Eve was just in hiding. She exhibited more laid back sexual tendencies before she arrived at the Game. Those people just helped her break out of her shell. She leaned back a lot on her past, which was expected, but she reminded herself to look forward too. Eve’s a very grounded character and I liked the story she told. I wasn’t too thrilled with her reaction to Savage because, personally, I would have told him to GTFO after so many of his mood changes but that’s just me. She liked who she was with him. There was some good sex here. I wish Savage wasn’t so possessive of Eve and as a reader got to explore more of the Game aside from when they ambled into public view but they pressed toward that line a bit. There was some okay kink and voyeurism and experimentation. I just wish the Game, excluding Blackledge, was a bit more prominent in the picture. Because really, most of the time they’re sequestered in Savage’s room and the setting got a little dull.Overall the book’s okay. Savage’s attitude drowns out a lot of the good for me because his attitude became grating. I’m not sure if I’d read on in the series because it would be even more of just those two squirreled away in some room together and Savage getting all moody when Eve said something she didn’t know she shouldn’t have. But Gabriel writes some pretty good sex and she keeps it interesting. So it’s all up in the air at this point.3 1/2

Well that wasn’t quite what I anticipated when I picked Lord Savage as my historical romance read for the month … and no that is not a complaint. I’m much more accustomed to the demure historical romances in which an unmarried female alone in a man’s company is cause for scandal if he’s not a blood relative. But I must admit that I found this work of historical erotica to be a rather stimulating example of the sub-genre. Of course, we still have the trappings of a typical historical romance with the aristocracy, the sheltered heroine, the titled rake, the villain, and the gossiping servants, but the bulk of the book takes place during a hedonistic week in the country in which the Protector “schools” the Innocent (a newcomer to the parties) on the pleasurable delights of the human body. I found that having an American heiress as the sheltered heroine to be a delightful twist and that despite having been married, she was still quite innocent when it came to sex, but I suppose that’s what happens when a 17 year-old is married off to her father’s business partner who is 40 years her senior. As for the manner in which Eve first encounters Lord Savage, let’s just say that it set the tone for the remainder of the book. Lord Savage, of course, is all that I would expect from the hero in a regency romance – arrogant British nobility with just a bit of an edge that makes him irresistible to all women – in short, a rake. Because of the nature of “The Game” there is a LOT of sex in Lord Savage, which is why I would categorize it as erotica. While the sex is most definitely hot, it is the developing relationship between Eve and Lord Savage that has me ready to read the next book in the trilogy now. Speaking of, this is a trilogy and while the ending is not a cliffhanger per se, I was unprepared for it thus making it a definite “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!” moment. Initially I was rating this as a four-star read, but it is has become clear to me as I wrote this review that I will definitely reread Lord Savage again as I await the release of book two. Well done Ms. Gabriel and please write quickly. I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Angela at Crystal's Many Reviewers!

4.5 stars! This is a historical erotic romance in the vein of a Jess Michaels historical erotica. Evelyn Hart is 25, An American heiress, newly widowed from an arranged marriage with a much older man who had been her father's business partner in railroads and steel or some such. She came to London for an adventure and is hoping to meet someone to make her heart beat faster. At a ball, she strolls out onto a balcony and witnesses a man and woman engaged in a passionate encounter and she gets really hot and finds herself lusting after the gentleman, named Lord Savage. He has dark hair that curls a bit too long around his neck and he is tall, leanly muscled and his face is a thing of stark masculine beauty. Later, at the same ball, she dances with him, and he tells her frankly that he saw her voyeuristically watching him and he wants her too. Their opportunity arises when her friend, who is a married lady and a bit fast, hosts a country house party for a week and invites around 20 people. At the party, strict rules must be followed and roles are shed and new costumes worn, and all manner of coupling abounds in public and private. Yes, Lord Savage eventually claims her, but it goes farther than the game and Eve finds herself falling for him...after the ties, toys and games, will she be able to let him go and never speak of this week again? She knows she will be forever changed after this. This is a well written historical erotic romance and the amount of erotic content is very high. There is a moderate amount of kink and BDSM, Lord Savage is definitely a dominant, and Eve a Sub in their encounters. I appreciated the opportunity to read and review this ARC!

3.5 CocktailsErotic and historical, not usually two things that mix well. Ms. Savage does an interesting job with this story. Mrs. Evelyn Hart is a widow, so it’s perfectly acceptable for her to attend balls, and attempt to live a little after her arranged marriage. She attends balls hoping to find something exciting, she finds that when she spies Lord Savage in the garden. She is invited to a week long party in the country. There begins her sexual awakening. This is a story with BDSM elements, she’s paired with the very man she spied upon, Lord Savage has his Innocent, or sub to his Dom. He’s dark and brooding, gives her more pleasure than she’s ever known. He only seems to want her for the week, while Evelyn seems to be yearning for a closeness that just isn’t there. There are a lot of convoluted parts where rules come into play, rules that only seemed to exist when convenient to the story. I did find myself enjoying the story, and I may even pick up the rest of the trilogy at some point. It did have a great blend of the repressed Victorian with the out there sexuality of BDSM, and I did find myself intrigued by the contrast.Reviewed by Sheri for Cocktails and Books

No me gusto porque la protagonista en vez de ser feminista termina siendo una idiota que se piensa que las mujeres son superiores a los hombres y que no puede tomar ningún consejo de ningún hombre porque se siente insultada.

I have a soft spot for historical romances...I absolutely loved this one! Lord Savage is the historical bad boy and the main protagonist Evelyn "Eve" falls right into his trap. During a crazy weekend of raunchy games set to tantalize & broaden the horizons of the guests, Eve is in way over head but more than willing for the challenge or um battles that come with Lord Savage. It's a sexy trip into a scandalous fling that is so hot. Can't wait to read the next.

This was my first foray into erotica, so bear with me. In terms of hot sex scenes, this book has it. I had a hard time with the light plot line, but then I realized that it wasn't really about the plot so much as the kinky scenes. It was a strong introduction to erotica in literature.

An erotica romance. If anyone has read the Fifty Shades of Grey, this book is very similar to it.

GENRE: Contemporary RomanceTHEME: Mature, HistoricalRECEIVED: NetGalleyBLOG: I’ve been easing my way into more historical romances and was intrigued by Mia Gabriel’s description of the Earl of Savage, and of course his name being Savage! Anyways, this was a quick read in a darker more intense and secretive side of the wealthy in the 1900s. Evelyn Hart is starting over, leaving New York behind for the colder setting of London. Recently widowed to a man whom she married to please her fathers business, she finally feels like she can breath. While attending a boring ball, where many suitors surround her, she catches the eye of a man named Lord Savage, whom she witnessed in a very compromising situation with another woman. Thus she is invited to a week in the country with her new friend Lady Carleigh and her guests. But the week in the country isn’t a normal event, but an adventurous sexual adventure. Evelyn was married young to someone whom her father chose, now she can live a life she wants before she ever thinking of getting married again. All in all finding a man whom she’d actually wants to be with. I could tell right from the start of her innocents and how she wanted adventure or something exciting to happen. When she see’s Lord Savage at the ball she is not disgusted by what she catches him doing but fascinated and excited. I was a bit worried about her inexperience with men and what Lord Savage would bring her into. But in the end I felt their relationship helped both of them open up a bit more, even though the circumstances were a little extreme.Lord Savage is everything his name means, he is an alpha male who enjoys women and being with them. But also always gets what a wants and he wants Evelyn, he even takes up in bidding for her time for a charity so that he can be with her. I’m all for alpha males and seriously enjoy a man who wants to take care of his women, but I was actually a little taken aback by Savage. He was a bit too over the top for my liking. He does care for Evelyn and becomes almost too scarily obsessed with her, but again there are reasons for his actions. He craves Evelyn as something more than just a lover as well as she feels there is something about their connection. Inn the end for Savage he was kind of a hit and miss for me. This is only the beginning, as this sounds like it will be a trilogy and the ending hinted at an intriguing start for Savage and Evelyn. This story has a mixture of dominant and submissive moments with slight mentions of BDSM. The setting takes place in one location of an estate where extravagant and erotic dinners take place, and the whole property is used for their adventures. I was also a bit shocked by a lot of the scenes too and the romance of course was smoking hot. The secondary characters aren’t hugely focused on but are hilarious as well as over the top crazy, with some creepy villains. In the end I’m hoping the next book focuses more on the characters and plot, that way I can connect more to Evelyn and Savage.RECOMMENDATION:This is a mature adult novel, with sexual content that is suited for readers of the age of 18. Fans of Anita Clenney’s Conner Clan series and A Marriage of Inconvenience by Susanna Fraser will enjoy Lord Savage by Mia Gabriel.

Lush And DecadentEvelyn Hart has finally broken free from her life in America, a lonely one that was defined, first by a father, and then by a husband. Now at twenty-five, a beautiful widow and heiress of a vast fortune, she desperately wants to shed all the constraints that has ruled her in high society New York. Settling in England, she hopes to experience things denied her in marriage: adventure, freedom, excitement, independence and intrigue. Specifically, sexual pleasure which Evelyn has not truly experienced since being married to an older husband. After stealing a glimpse of a couple “rutting” in the gardens while at a ball, Evelyn can’t deny the arousal and excitement she feels as she watches. That, is exactly what she means to explore. Lady Carleigh joins Evelyn, noticing how interested she is after Savage is identified as the man in the garden. Lady Carleigh invites Evelyn to her country manor for an unconventional house party, with a promise that Lord Savage will attend. There, Evelyn is determined to make up for lost time and lose herself in sexual amusement with Savage as her tutor.Lord Savage is an erotic historical romance at its finest. From the first page until the end, I was mesmerized by this gem of a story because it pushed all the right buttons for me. When it comes to erotic historical romance I expect a titillating story with chemistry, intensity and emotion, that is well thought out. Ms. Gabriel gives us that, in spades, with Lord Savage, and much more. Her writing is flawless, and her descriptions are lush and beyond beautiful. I saw places and felt emotion as if I were there. And she gives us two desperately flawed and complex characters, Evelyn Hart and Lord Savage. I loved the engaging narrative, as written in Eve’s POV, as she laid out the week of debauchery while members played the game of “Protectors and Innocents”. Eve’s passionate seduction by Savage as Protector is more than she bargained for, and she was truly the Innocent, as untried and inexperienced as she was. Savage is unabashedly alpha male, he exudes power, confidence in a sexual manner, and dominance as he takes Eve in hand for her lessons. There are times I felt Eve’s confusion over Savage’s behavior and aloof attitude while he struggled to control his inner demons. Throw in an unsavory character in the house party who wants Eve for his own dark and twisted designs, and Savage is forced to possess and protect her as his. Eve is surprised that Savage makes her feel desired and treasured. Lord Savage is a perfect blend of light kink, conflict, intrigue and lots of hot, inventive sexual scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed reading a beautiful, smartly written story, and highly recommend it to fans who like a lot of heat in their historical romance. I can’t wait for book two in the continuing story of Eve and Savage. Great job, Ms. Gabriel.Copy provided by Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. My rating: 5

I received this book as an ARC from the publisher through Goodreads. I would have bought it. I knew from the blurb that this was erotic. Those that say they didn't know should read blurbs before reading the books... Evelyn Hart is a young widow visiting Edwardian England. Her entire life previously had been completely controlled, first by her father and then by her older husband who happened to be her father's partner. In England to find some freedom finally, she is quickly bored by the open interest in her money by the "eligible" bachelors she meets. One night at an event, she escapes one of these bachelors by heading out to the balcony for some fresh air and time to herself. While out there she hears noises in the shadows beyond the balcony. When she moves closer to the railing, she realizes that the noises are a couple "coupling". While shocked, she soon finds that she is also excited to watch something that she had very limited experience with, even though she was married. Later that evening she is introduced by Lady Carleigh to the gentleman that she saw in the shadows, Lord Savage. While dancing with him, he lets it be know that he knew she was watching him in the shadows and questions her reasons. During the dance they both become aware of an attraction to each other. A sexual awareness. He seems to expect it, she is shocked yet aroused and attracted. At the conclusion of their dance, Lady Carleigh invites Evelyn to her country place for a week where she says they "all do what we please, with whom we please, and because we all swear one another to silence, it's all great fun, and no tedious regrets afterwards". Evelyn agrees to go, not exactly sure what to expect. What she finds upon her arrival is The Game. A BDSM game played with Protectors and Innocents. The Protectors are to educate the Innocents in their ways. Evelyn begins her education with Lord Savage. Both Evelyn and Savage have backgrounds that have shaped their current lives. How they affect their relationship makes it interesting. Ms Gabriel has a certain way with the sex in the book that is both hot and fun to read.I wish they had not sequestered themselves to their room for most of the week so we would have had more interaction with the other "guests" there for The Game. (other than the boorish Baron) I will be looking for book two.

I'd never felt so vulnerable, at once both lost and found, as I now did sprawled across Savage in this foolish throne-chair. His strength was my solace, my comfort, and there was nothing better than hearing the beating of his heart beneath my ear. Once trapped in a loveless, pleasure-less marriage, Evelyn Hard leaves her home in New York for the glittering ballrooms of London. However, when she arrives she meets the Earl of Savage, a dark, powerful man who seems to live up to his name, despite his noble trappings, a man who possesses her with just one look. Soon Evelyn finds herself pulled into Savage's world—a world of passion unlike any she has ever experienced. Evelyn's heart is captured with no hope of escape. But can they overcome the tortures of the past together?Savage never imagined someone like Evelyn walking into his life. As soon as he sees her he knows he must have her, no matter the cost.Review:When I picked this story from Netgalley, I had no idea it was a trilogy....Phooey! Now I have to wait until next year for the next book.It was a good book, was it my favorite erotic historical? No, but I enjoyed it and it kept me engrossed until the very end. I liked Evelyn "Eve", I appreciated that she was finally free of her husband and father and is young and wants to experience life. She questions everything and is basically a bratty sub. Savage, I still have mixed feelings for him at this point. He came off as not the best "Master or Dom", he let Eve get away with a lot. I equate it to his experience with his dead wife. I think he does really care and want Eve, he is just so confused and fighting his feelings. So many times their miss-communication lead them to stupid fights that I just wanted to smack both of them up-side the head. The story was full of sexiness and really liked when they were not thinking too hard and enjoyed themselves and each other. The ending has a happy ending for now, it was there that I found I had not paid attention about this being a trilogy. The mechanics of the story was good and you can tell the author has experience in writing historicals.Well, now to wait almost an entire year for the next book...ugh, really June of next year. 3Stars

An erotic novel in the tradition of the Fifty Shades trilogy, but set in the early twentieth century, and way better. For better or for worse, the publishing world is in the midst of a male dominance erotica explosion. As most of us already know, some are better than others (and that's an understatement in many cases). Lord Savage is, in my opinion, one of the better examples of this sub-genre (in part due to the setting over one hundred years ago).As usual, we have a beautiful woman (although Evelyn, unlike some other heroines, knows she's hot) and a troubled, somewhat overbearing hottie of a hero. Magnetic, fireworks style attraction and chemistry, blah blah blah. I'll admit that about a quarter of the way through Lord Savage I likely would have put it back on the virtual shelf on my Kindle, but since I got my copy through NetGalley, I persevered. And while I wasn't completely blown away, I don't feel like finishing the book was a complete waste of my time.Unlike Fifty Shades (I promise not to fall into a rant here) Lord Savage is actually a somewhat sympathetic character. Sure he's arrogant, but not in an annoying way. Maybe that's because he's a peer of the realm, and his arrogance is somewhat expected and deserved (at least from my American perspective). Plus, his reasons for being somewhat emotionally closed off are reasonable and believable. He's also not a completely perverted weirdo. He's just a manly man, and Evelyn is a womanly woman, and they fit well together (get your mind out of the gutter; that pun wasn't intended). I didn't like her very much until near the end of the story, where her own self-absorption was tempered by her feelings for Savage. The erotic scenes are pretty good, especially because there's a level of emotional connection and respect, even in the beginning. None of it was disturbing or off-putting, which was much appreciated. And since the formula for such stories is to spread it across a trilogy, two more books are on the way. I find myself often going back on my professed dislike of series, and this case is no different. I will definitely be reading the remaining two books when they're published.Take It

I received this book from the Goodreads Firstreads giveaway program. Thank you author/publisher for the opportunity to read and review your newest novel.4.5 starsLord Savage (Savage Trilogy #1) by Mia Gabriel is the first in a series of three books. It is being described as a historical erotica romance. I would say there is a little history to this book... and a whole lot of erotica. This book was sizzling from the start. The year 1907 .. London.. Evelyn Hart is a young wealthy widow attending a ball trying to find what she has been missing in life. She was married to a man 40+ years her senior and she was in a loveless marriage. Evelyn now wants to take this opportunity to experience adventure and excitement. While outside on the balcony at the ball she spies a man having sex in the garden. She can't help but watch this man and woman. The hostess of the ball Lady Carleigh tells her that the man is Lord Savage. Evelyn almost immediately feels captured and captivated by this man.Lady Carleigh invites Evelyn to a week long party at her country estate, Wrenton Manor. A small chosen group of people get invited to these parties. Lord Savage will be an attendee. The author describes the Elizabethan house .. Wrenton Manor.. the place where almost all of this story happens, just beautifully. All the details make your imagination go wild. The house is one of my favorite parts of the book.Turns out Evelyn will be attending a sex party at the manor.. an orgy of sorts. The guests play a week long game... the newcomers to the game are to be called Innocents. Those that have been to the party before are the Protectors... they will be educating the Innocents in their ways. They are paired into couples.. after some bidding Lord Savage is paired with Evelyn.. which he is now calling Eve.Eve has so much to learn in a week from LORD SAVAGE.....Lord Savage was SUPER HOT!!! Looking forward to Book #2 in the series to see where the author goes with this.. Savage Nights (Savage Trilogy #2) looks to be released in 2015.
