This review was originally posted on (un)Conventional BookviewsEnticing Interlude is Justin's story, as he takes over as lead vocalist in Tempest after War leaves the band behind in a fit. At first, it's hard for Justin to find his place, especially because Bryan is weary of him and the connection he has to Lace. When Lace's friend from rehab, Bridget, arrives with her young son, however, Justin is completely taken with both of them. And he finally understands that having one-night-stands with groupies will never make him happy. Bridget has been burned so badly in the past that she doesn't want any man in her life apart from her son. Coming to Vancouver to stay with Lace, she just wants to lick her wounds and get herself back on her feet again.

After reading Irresistible Refrain and the Black Cat Records series, I was excited to dive into the world of Tempest again and to get Justin's story. Enticing Interlude is very well-written, as I've come to expect from Michelle Mankin. The characters are likable and I enjoyed the story. But it lacked the 'grab you by the throat' element that Irresistible Refrain had. I felt like we missed out on something in this whirlwind courtship - it all moved a little too fast for me. I loved the story though. Seeing Justin grow up and seeing Bridget finally gain a bit of confidence and let the past go, was emotional and heartwarming.Justin Jones, twin brother to Avery who is the lead guitarist for Brutal Strength, is still trying to find his way following a bad relationship gone wrong and a stint in drug rehab. He's a talented musician, though. Mary Timmons, CEO of Black Cat Records, decides to take a chance on him and offers him the lead singer position of Tempest. Although Justin knows he'll have big shoes to fill since Warren Jinkins left, he's nonetheless stoked at the chance.Bridget Dubois has come to Vancouver with her 5 year old son, Carter, in tow, because she had to run from her old life in order to start anew. After losing her Meemaw, the only loving family she had left, she couldn't take dealing with her evil step-mother or the asshat father of her son. She'd met Lace Lowell in rehab and it's to Lace Bridget turns to for help. I really liked Bridget. She's kind and courageous, yet guarded, which is to be expected. She's making the best life possible for herself and Carter, despite being a young mom. I admired her desire to be a good mom and make something of herself. When Justin and Bridget first meet, there's an immediate attraction. But Bridget doesn't date - has closed herself off from men PERIOD - since her relationship with hateful Richard left her alone and pregnant at 15. Justin has been known as a player and it's going to take a lot of work to break down Bridget's walls. But Justin is also extremely loyal and caring, and Bridget and Carter bring out the protectiveness in him.As I said, I enjoyed seeing Justin grow into the wonderful young man he's meant to be. And I delighted in how Justin affected Bridget - helped her to blossom - to shrug off the insecurities she's carried for so long. But I would have liked for more backstory on Bridget. We were told about her horrible step-mom and the abuse she suffered at her hands and Carter's dad, but more details would have helped me connect with her better. Likewise, I felt that we didn't get to witness enough of Justin and Bridget together initially to warrant their intense feelings. Because of the dual POV format, I knew how Justin felt - and I know his history; I know the kind of man he could be. I didn't feel like I got enough of Bridget's history to really understand her on that deeper level. Also, with Avery and Marcus' presence, as well as Lace and Bryan's, the other Tempest players, and Avery and Justin's dad's health deteriorating, there was quite a bit going on. Maybe that's why Justin and Bridget's story wasn't as robust as I'd have liked.Still, I really enjoyed Enticing Interlude. I fell in love with Carter and adored watching him charm everyone. And I was thrilled with the maturity both Justin and Bridget exhibited. And I cannot wait for Captivating Bridge, the next book in the series. It's War's story and promises to be an intense read!

Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace3.5 STARSThis is the first book I have read by Michelle Mankin, and although Enticing Interlude is the second book in the Tempest series and the fifth in the Black Cat Records series, I felt that it was easy to get into this world. I love to read about rock groups and I enjoyed listening to Justin and Bridget’s story.Bridget had nowhere to go after the death of her grandmother, so she and her son, Carter, moved in with her friend Lace. I discovered how hard things had been for Bridget growing up, what she had been through and what she lost. She trusted someone, only for them to shatter her and she would do anything to protect Carter. She battled an addiction and was able to find her way again. Not long after she moved in with Lace she met Justin and soon he turned her world upsidedown.Justin wasn’t looking for commitment, but he was quickly drawn to Bridget, wanting to know her and protect her. He has been offered the job of a lifetime, being the front man for Tempest. He let Bridget in to his world and I could see his love for her grow. I also learned the glossed over details of the history between Justin, his sister, their father and the circumstances that occurred throughout Avery’s books.I enjoyed most of the book, seeing Bridget transform from a shy, quiet girl who took on a woman who despised her. I loved this new side to her, but I was disappointed that she retreated into her shell at a certain stage. She had come such a long way only to doubt the one person who loves her. Other than that, I liked most of the characters and liked seeing relationships strengthen. Now, the narration is probably what threw me off for this one. Kai Kennicott was great! I loved how well he narrated, Wen Ross was a little quiet and muffled at times and I found her hard to follow. What was different about this narration, was that through Justin’s chapter’s Wenn would narrate all the female parts and vice versa for Bridget’s chapters. But it was the extra sound effects thrown in… the giggling and other sounds… that threw me off.I thought that this was a good read though, and I enjoyed the way the story unfolded. Justin and Bridget were easy characters to like and both had been through their own personal hells but overcome them to be better people. They had a good support around them and love those close to them fiercely. I would love to read more in this series, and hope to go back to the beginning and see where it all started.

Mankin brings us back into her Rock and Roll world with another fabulous read. ENTICING INTERLUDE wasn't quite as heavy and raw as IRRISITIBLE REFRAIN was but it still rocked my world. I loved the more laid back pace of this one and thought the romance that erupted from it was perfection. I am so in love with these characters and how they fell in love with each other. It was a journey, one I will remember for a long time. Like always, we still get to see scenes with all of our old favorites like Avery and Marcus. But we are going into a new territory for the band Tempest. They are having to find a replacement singer since War left and signed on with someone new. This is not going to be an easy adjustment on anyone’s part. Tempers will flair and it may very well get the best of some. But it is something that each one of them will have to work through. Especially Justin and Bryan.Bridget was a wonderful character and her love for her child knew no bounds. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her kid. Even if that meant leading the life of nun, so to speak. But from the first time Justin saw her he knew he had to know her. And so what if she has a kid, that is was just an added bonus in his eyes. Because Carter is an amazing kid who Bridget raised right. So, in my eyes, that makes Justin ten times more adorable. I love the fact that he loved Bridget and her child. Not many guys out there like the ready-made family. But Justin didn’t let that stop him from knowing all he could about Bridget and making her his. *Swoon*If you are full fledged groupie of Tempest, then you are most definitely going to want to read this one. I gave it 5 Rockin Stars and cannot wait for more to come!

I liked this book much more than the previous. I was able to fall right into the story and ride along with Justin and Bridget. When she was introduced in during Lace's rehab days, she was way more bubbly than in this book. She almost seemed like a different person, it I liked her nonetheless. Carter was an adorable little man. He was much more mature than kids his age but he was a great addition to the characters. Justin was just as sweet and charismatic as he was in the first book. Though I only got a glimpse of him, he was still the cute and sexy musician Lace met in Vancouver. Together Justin and Bridget matured and grew along with their feelings for each other. Bridget and Carter were the driving force for Justin to want a serious relationship and he wasn't willing to let Bridget get away, despite her fears from her past relationship experience. A wonderful story.

Enticing Interlude is a great story that had me on the edge of my seat. Michelle Mankin has done it again and lord let me tell you that Irresistible Refrain had me by the boot straps and Michelle just did it again with Enticing Interlude. The band is still reeling from the loss of War who signed on to another group because well you will have to read IR to find out because I will not ruin for the reader but just let me say wow oh wow when you get to read the reason why you will be blown away. So now we have my lovely gorgeous Justin Jones who is the new lead singer in the band Tempest and bad boy is not even a word to describe him. He is something in his own league and I love him because when Justin sees something he wants he goes for it and gets it but that theory is put to the test when he meets Bridget. Lord Bridget is like a breath of fresh air to him and he knows he needs her and he wants her and he will stop at nothing to have her but Bridget is not easily fooled by men and she sure as hell knows to stay away from Justin.See Bridget has someone she has to take care of and no matter what she will always have to care for this person. Once Justin finds out who she has to care for he let's Bridget know that he wants in no matter what and together they can take care of that person and have a life together. Will Bridget let go of her heart and give it to Justin or will she hold her walls in place??????????

Awww. I love it, in t his book we bring together Bryan and Lace with her new friend she met in rehab. A sweet young mother and of course with War quitting the band they bring in Justin Jones who is the new lead man for Tempest who falls in love with Bridget and her son Carter from the moment he saw her. Breaking through her walls and into her heart has become his goal. This is such a beautiful concept that every girl who is afraid to open her heart dreams of. James is sweet, patient and kind. Bridget has been though a lot and is afraid to let him close. You will enjoy the struggle, the way they open up to each other and learn to let go of the past and move forward. I adore these two people and little Carter. A beautiful must read, and adds to the ongoing story. I hope there is more to come. A definite solid 4.5 stars.

I loved listening to this story. Kai and Wen were awesome especially with Carter. I loved hearing about an amazingly strong single mother and her awesomely sweet little boy. Then you add in a wonderfully sweet man and how he wants to be the best father figure ever and I fell in love. Everything about this story was so sweet and touching I was nearly a puddle of goo at how awesomely it was written. Being a mom myself and hearing about how amazing and great someone is with a kid when they don't have to step up into that place just makes my heart met and completely fall for them.

You can also find my review on my blog: http://bit.ly/LVSTW2Enticing Interlude is the second book in author Michelle Mankin’s Tempest series and admittedly the first of her work that I have read. Both enjoyable and entertaining, this was a great read.Single mom Bridget Dubois has recently lost the only family member she could ever count on and now faced with picking up the pieces has decided to start over in a new city. Thanks to a good friend she met in rehab, she has a place to stay until she can get her bearings in her new hometown. She has been hurt by too many people in the past and is beyond thankful to have found a true friend in Lace. It’s through her friendship that she meets Justin Jones, the talented and sexy musician and new front man of the rock band Tempest. After her less than stellar track record with men, Justin is a risk she isn’t willing to take. But trying to keep her distance gets really hard when Justin proves to be incredibly kind and sweet to both her and her son. Would she have the strength to stay away? More importantly, would she have the strength to give a relationship with Justin a chance?Things are going really well for Justin Jones these days and after seeing the beautiful blond living with his friend Lace, things just got even better. He’s landed one of the most coveted positions in music, has finally managed to get his relationship with his family better than it ever has been and now after meeting Bridget starts to think in terms of a real relationship. Sure, it may seem fast but there’s just something special about her that he can’t ignore. After getting to know her better, he knows she’s been hurt in the past and Justin is determined to prove he won’t be one of the people to let her down. Her or her son. Justin wants to be in it for the long haul. Will she let him?Together Justin and Bridget have a whole lot to work on as far as letting go of the past and moving forward together but with a little bit of luck and a whole lot of determination, they truly have a shot at a happily ever after. The story of Justin and Bridget started out slow and steady and kept building at a terrific pace. I think that is one of my favorite things about this book. It was believable. Bridget’s guard is up and rightfully so. She isn’t going to just jump into things because she finds Justin attractive and attentive to her and her son. She’s got a smart head on her shoulders and I appreciated that. One of my other favorite things about this book was the relationship between Bridget and her son. Having a son of my own, I really enjoyed reading the interactions between mom and son. He’s an adorable and smart little boy and Bridget knows how lucky she is to have him. Justin is kind and patient, which is at total odds with his perceived bad boy rocker persona. I loved that about him. He was willing to wait for Bridget to learn to trust him and did everything in his power to make that decision an easy one for her. Together they make a great couple and family. There were also a few side plots that were really interesting and added another layer to this love story. All in all, I think this is a story all romance fans will enjoy! Thank you, Michelle, for a great read!

I just finished Enticing Interlude and I really loved it. This follows Irresistible Refrain and for me it was honestly a great follow up. Irresistible Refrain was about Bryan, Warren and Lacey. This one is about Justin and Bridget. Justin is now the singer of Tempest since Warren is no longer around. Bridget is friends with Lacey. We got to meet both of them in Irresistible Refrain. Bridget and her son Carter is now living with Bryan and Lacey for the time being and because of how close Lacey is with Justin ends up meeting him face to face. Justin is very intrigued by her and wants to see where this goes. Bridget on the other hand is very gun shy from past experiences and doesn’t want to get too close. Justin is very persistent and doesn’t want to let her go. So what happens when you have someone very persistent that always gets what he wants? You will have to read and see...I loved this story; I thought it flowed really well and honestly liked it better than the first one because it wasn’t a complicated scenario. I loved how the author put these two together, the chemistry between them was on fire and it just scorched the pages. Justin has to be one of my favorite characters for a guy. He is sexy, loyal and so sweet. I loved that when he knew that she was the one for him, he was all there. He didn’t pussyfoot around. He manned up and that was what made it hot for me. Bridget, I felt sorry for her. She is a single mom and had made some bad decisions but she owns up to them and it just trying to be the best mom. I just wanted nothing but the best for her. Carter was a little cutie pie. He wanted nothing but the best for his mommy. All the other characters were there and I was so happy that we got to read them and see what they were up too. Bryan is still yummy and Lacey is such a sweetie pie. I like how everything has turned out and cannot wait to see more. Dizzy, hmmm, just love him. The upside for me what there was more on these characters. There was so much drama with Warren, Bryan and Lacey in the first one that things were low key between the other characters and that it was refreshing to see more of them now. This is such a good series and it makes me want to go back and read the others so I can read more of a back story with the other characters. Honestly, you will enjoy this just as much as I did. Story 5Sex 5Overall 5Reviewed by Beggin from Mommys a Book Whore

"First impressions, shy smiles, soul searching, making memories. First kisses, independent spirit, fierce attitude. I can do it alone, but there strength in numbers, you don’t have to be brave, lean on me. I’ll be your shelter, for the days you need to hide, I’ll be your cheering section for the days you need to shine. She becomes the one Lace leans on through her time of need. But what will happen when the tables are turned. Bridget needs a friend and some form of order in this crazy chaotic world. Her little boy needs a family that seems to forever be just his mother as everything he knows fades away as the plane flies him away from his home. **Originally Posted @ SinfulReads Blog**REVIEW: When I was given the opportunity to read Enticing Interlude (Tempest #2) I was thrilled. My adventure with Tempest started when I read Irresistible Refrain which was fantastic and hot. Now that I read Enticing Interlude I concluded that I am for the most part in-love with every member of Tempest.Enticing Interlude is the story of Justin & Bridget. We were introduced to Justin on Irresistible Refrain and was also there where we met Bridget. Both characters have had their share of trouble and drama. Neither have had it easy, both had to fight demons and mistakes that have cost them much. Both have suffered loss, and each have been given a second chance.Their story is one of redemption, second chances and found love. The many things these two characters went through are things many can relate to. Their poor choices and decisions drove them both to less than desirable situations which in terms marked their future. Justin is everything I expected him to be, sexy, sincere and understanding. His struggles with drugs and the bad company he once kept brought consequences that forced him to mature. Bridget’s innocence was stolen from her in more than one way, the man she once thought to love robbed her of ability to trust and love. The love story between these two characters is sweet, mature and sexy. Their sexual chemistry makes it exciting and enticing. Justin’s need for Bridget is undeniably steamy and Bridget’s hunger for Justin is sexy.Though at times Bridget comes across as a damsel in distress, her background story justified her actions or lack thereof. Justin may seem perfect, but he has had his share of bad boy. His life before Bridget is that of a playboy, sleep with women and dispatch them as soon as the sex is finished. Both characters have flaws, both characters have learn from their mistakes and that’s exactly what makes them likeable. I enjoyed their connection, their dialog and the sex. This is not a complex story filled with angst or raw drama. It is the story of two young people who find in each other the support, the patient and the love they each crave and need.If you are looking for young romance, steamy sex, sexual awakening with a hot and sweet rock star then read Enticing Interlude, Justin has it all. The Tempest series is one you want to keep an eye on.

Enticing Interludein·ter·lude noun \ˈin-tər-ˌlüd\: a period of time between events or activities: a brief romantic or sexual meeting or relationship: a short piece of music that is played between the parts of a longer one, a drama, or a religious serviceJustin Jones never thought his life would ever be more than a series of interludes; in love, in music and in life. Two hearts changed his mind and became his forever song.Enticing Interlude is Michelle Mankin’s second book in the Tempest Series. I have been a long time fan of Mankin’s since her debut release of Love Evolution back in May 2012. Every single time I read one of her books I love it and each subsequent one becomes my favorite.Michelle Mankin and her books are more than just an interlude. They are more than just a brief moment of escape. Her books are written with incredible heart and passion. I have never known an author to research her character’s personalities and the settings for her books more than Mankin. Her dedication and absolute love for music and writing is never more evident than in her stories. From the first to the last page you are drawn in and wanting more. In Enticing Interlude, I loved the fact that although both characters, Justin and Bridget were young (20 and 21), due to circumstance, they were old souls who accepted what life had thrown at them. They also owned their choices, especially the negative ones. Both of them never made excuses for what life dealt them and they didn’t wallow in it. Although the story is about musicians, I really appreciate how Mankin does not use that as the crutch for her story. It actually makes the music/rock aspects so much more significant. I also have to comment on the sex parts of the story. Michelle Mankin has a way of making the scenes extremely sensual, sexy and hot without being overly graphic. i think this style can appeal to a broader audience and also makes the scenes much more intimate. And Justin is one hottie boy that would set me on fire with just a look or a smile. ;)Michelle Mankin is one author who is greatly underrated. Enticing Interlude along with her other books are dynamic and full. Every word on her pages has purpose without becoming complicated or diluted.I can’t wait for book #3 in this series!!! War’s story is going to hurt my heart.Enticing Interlude gets 4.5/5 D

Enticing Interlude by Michelle Mankin4 out of 5 ROCKSTAR's Michelle's writing is very entertaining with sultry and high drama you don't want to put this book down. I was drawn to Justin more and more as the pages turned. Bridget's strength and love that she has for her son Carter was unexpected considering her own up bringing. This story was refreshing and offered the little twists and turns at the right moments. A true must read. Bridget has grown up fast and toughen her sole due to her past. As a single mom form a teen pregnancy, and neglected all her young life by her workaholic dad and wicked cold hearted step-mom, Bridget and her son have been on their own except for the help of her hard nose grandmother s support. With the loss of her heather and now the sudden loss of her grandma, Bridget and 5 yr old son Carter find them selfs running to Vancouver to the only person she can trust, her friend from rehab, Lace. With Bridget's troubled past she is very fragile when it comes to letting herself fall in love with another man. Justine has had his share of the rockstar groupies one night stands. With each one, he still realizes that hole in his heart never gets filled. This hot auburn haired lead singer get the opportunity to lead sing for TEMPEST but instead of him taking that spot with the band he understands that he needs to prove to them that he is worth filling the shoes left by their ex-leader, War, who left because his ex-girl Lace. She left him to be with another member of the band, Bryan. Proving the Justin is good enough to the band, especially guitarist Bryan, has been stressful and heated. Lucky for Justin, he is good friend with Lace and that put a little buffer between him and Bryan. Justine still felt that one thing missing, love until he meets Bridget through Lace. That's when the sparks fly. He falls for both her and her son Carter. But will she be able to let go of her fear of heart brake and let Justine in? Does her step-mother get the best of her? Does Justine get caught up with his past relationship with the mobs girlfriend and demolish his chances with Bridget? Read this second book (also stand alone) in this series to find out!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.4.5 StarsThis is the first book of Michelle Mankins I have read. I own all of her other books but have not had the chance to read them, and I am now kicking my self for waiting so long to experience her writing. I loved this book. I am a huge fan of books having to do with Rockstars, rock bands, or music in general. I think what I liked about the book is that it focused more on the characters and their relationship and not on the fact that he was lead singer in Tempest. We still got glimpses into the band but that was not the main focus. The main focus were Justin and Bridget and their relationship.Bridget is a single mother, I am too so could relate to her character a lot, and she has made a lot of bad choices in her past. She comes to Vancouver to run away from her past and those choices. The only love she does have is for her son Carter. She is an amazing mother and is a lot stronger than she realizes. She has lost all trust in men and a relegation ship is the furthest think from her mind. That is until Justin Comes barging into her life.Justin is the new lead singer of the rock band Tempest. He has a past filled with pain. He also hasn't made the best decisions in the past. The one constant in his life is his twin sister Avery. When we first meet him he has man whore tendencies. He has no intentions of settling down. That is until Bridget walks into his life. There is instant attraction between the two, but there relationship isn't rushed. They take their time getting to know each other before all the HOT and Steamy sex. However there are many obstacles in the way of their HEA. The biggest one is Bridget herself. She has a hard time letting go of the past and moving on to her future. I read this book in one day. The flow of the story keeps you involved and you can't put the book down. I need to know if Justin and Bridget were going to find their happy ending. My favorite part of the relationship between Justin and Carter. He is awesome with him and Justin doesn't just fall for Bridget you can tell he really loves Carter too, SWOON!! We also get a glimpse into the next book at the end, and I can't wait to read War's book. I highly recommend this book and series!

***Arc was provided by author in exchange for an honest review***Book 2 in the Tempest Series focuses on Justin Jones, Avery’s twin brother and new lead singer for Tempest, and Bridget Dubois, a single mom who Lace became friends with in rehab. When Bridget loses her grandma, the only person she could ever count on, she packs up her and her son, leaves Florida, and heads to Vancouver to start over, running from the ghosts of her past that can still destroy her.As soon as Justin and Bridget meet, there is an undeniable spark between them, but Bridget’s first impression/preconceived notions of Justin (the rock star) keeps her away from any advancements he may make. But Justin doesn’t back down, and he finds a way in -Bridget’s son, Carter. Soon, Justin and Bridget learn that they have a lot more in common than they first thought and their friendship turns into what Justin has wanted from the beginning. Their relationship takes off, and they are a happy little family for awhile, but because Bridget has been through so much, she never fully trusts Justin, and someone from Justin’s past comes back and threatens to destroy what they have with the twist of a few words.“Girl behind the glassI’m waiting right outsideCan you see my reflection? Are you feeling our connectionThere inside your crystal world?”How does Justin turn their interlude into a compilation? How does he break through Bridget’s wall when she can’t seem to get past all that has happened to her?Enticing Interlude is not as heavy as Irresistible Refrain, which is mostly due to the differing subject matter. It is a heart warming look at achieving one’s dreams in both a personal and professional sense. Both Justin and Bridget grow as individuals and stand up for themselves. They fight through their pasts and reach for a future that they both deserve. I really liked that there wasn’t much drama to contend with…there’s a few bumps in the road to advance the plot and illustrate the guts it takes to finally shatter the wall one lives behind to protect him/herself. It’s a sweet story that is only made sweeter by Bridget’s little boy, Carter.4 poison apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)

I'm giving this story a 3.7 rating. Justin is the new lead singer for Tempest and has found interest in Bridget and her son Carer who just moved in with LL. Their chemistry is there instantly and both Justin and Bridget are rather mature for their age. I adore how Justin is with Carter right from the start. They move along quickly in their status and its a beautiful story, I do get a bit pissed at Bridget for jumping to conclusions but I guess when you're out into that particular situation you'd believe the same. I'm curious to the rest in this series and absolutely moving onto the next one.

This is the first book of this author I've read, and I have to say that I really liked it.While this is a book about the member of a famous band, the book puts more emphasis on the character's (Justin) personal life than his life as a rock star. It makes the story more believable in my opinion.Bridget is a single mother running away from an abusive ex, a dead beat father to her little son. She comes to Vancouver to stay with a friend after her only support system, her grandmother, passes away. Is there where she meets Justin, and even though she was oppose to any kind of relationship at the beginning, little by little their friendship blooms into something more.Justin has always have a bad rep, specially with the ladies for being a player. He has a sister he adores and and terminally ill father who he just recently started talking to again. Out of nowhere he's offered the opportunity of a lifetime as the lead singer for the rock band Tempest. His attraction to Bridget is immediate and after he discovers that she has a little boy he changes his ways to be a better person for both of them. One of the things I liked about this story is that the relationship between the main characters develops overtime, you feel their attraction but you see their friendship grows into a romantic relationship, nothing rushed, nothing forced.Carter (Bridget's boy) is a joy. Smart, outspoken and just adorable. He gets under your skin and you are rooting for this relationship to work so he can have the father figure he so much needs and deserves. This is a story about two broken people with imperfect pasts that come together and help each other become better people and overcome their shortcomings, mix the rock star lifestyle, an evil stepmother, and you have a great story with a big heart. Highly recommended and I can't wait for the next book.

What can I say? I love Michelle's writing. Abso-freakin-fantastic!!!I never thought that a story in the Black Cat/Tempest Series would hit me harder than Lace and Bryan's. But I do have to say - I am in LOVE with Justin Jones....okay, and Bridget Dubois ain't bad either.Justin Jones - new front man for Tempest!!??!? I think I about died when I read that. Avery Jones' twin - expected to lead Tempest back to the top??!! I mean - I honestly didn't think it would work. Could never be possible. All that aside - in walks Bridget Dubois into the picture. The former rehab roommate of Lace, a character that I missed even with the short time we spent with her in Irresistible Refrain. What wasn't there for Justin Jones to just go GAGA over? And of course - Michelle never disappoints with her list of complications. Justin - former drug addict, new band, everything at his fingertips. Bridget - running from a past life....but not running alone. The oh so adorable I JUST WANT TO EAT HIM UP son of hers - Carter. This little man has seen and heard things that no little guy should have to deal with. So super strong - taking care of his Mommie - abiding my the code. My heart went out to him every time Michelle described a concerned face, a tear, a grimace....I just wanted to snatch him up and give him a squeeze.Bridget's had her share of heartache - of despair - of conflict. How does one open up their heart to love and trust again? Justin's bound and determined....but does he succeed?I have to say - I am in love with this series. I can't wait to see where Michelle takes us next.PS - I want Avery's wedding - just saying....Five AMAZING stars - two thumbs up (if I had three - I'd throw it up there too!!). Go and read her stuff!! One of the most underrated authors out there!!!

This was my first read by Michelle Mankin but it will not be the last. Entincing Interlude is part of the Tempest Series but can be read as a standalone. I will be sure to pick up book one after reading this. The story centers around Justin Jones, an striving musician and Bridget Dubois, a young single mom. They both have had less than the fairy tale childhood and they wear they scars. But together they complete it each other and find “family”. Bridget is coming off a loss when she arrives in Vancouver with her son Carter, the 5 yr old cutie who could pretty much steal your heart. Lace is pretty much the only person she can turn to until Justin.Cue the hot, sexy up and coming musician Justin. One look at Bridget and he has determined she is the next conquest. Until she is more and when Justin realizes it, it's full steam ahead even if she takes off running he will not let her go.So, with any good story there has to be drama and we get our fair share. But we also get friendship, understanding, family and love. Now don’t get me wrong, Bridget’s insecurities and her past have a lot to do with who she is and why she reacts to certain situations but I did get annoyed when she didn’t even question some things that were going on. The story had a few twists and turns I didn’t see coming and was happy to watch the characters grow through the story. I was not a fan of Justin’s ex for more than one reason and there were some detail to Justin’s “secret” that I did not feel were completely believable.Overall a great engaging read. If you love rockstar romances and a roller coaster ride to a HEA then go grab this book and enjoy.

The hottest band Tempest is looking for a new lead singer after losing War Jinkins. When Justin Jones gets offered the gig, he has to prove himself and it turns out to be harder than he bargained for.Lace is helping out her friend Bridget that she met it rehab by having Bridget and her son come stay with Lace and Bryan for awhile and get a new start in life. I LOVE the relationship Bridget and Lace have and their bond they formed over having an addiction. Bridget is such a strong female and the love for her son melts my heart. She is so bright and kind hearted and has so much to offer that it is hard not to like her.Justin Jones wants more in life. Meaningless sex just doesn't seem to be enough for him anymore. When he meets Lace's best friend Bridget he instantly wants to get to know her. What he didn't expect was to fall hard for her son as well and want to become a family. Bridget fights her attraction for the longest time. She has a son o think about and her heart to protect. She doesn't believe that someone like Justin can possibly want more than a night of passion. She also has self worth issues and drama that runs deep into her family. So when she finally does h=give her heart to Justin, she runs every time she thinks he is too good for her or that she lets her past interfere with her future. The sooner she realizes Justin isn't going anywhere, the better it will be for everyone!I enjoyed this book even more than the first, and for that I give this book a 5 star rating! There is still so much more to come with the band and War's story and I am truly looking forward to it! Justin and Bridget's story however was WOW!!

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review*I've been a fan of Michelle Mankin ever since I stumbled on the first book in the Tempest series, Irresistible Refrain. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down! When I saw that the second book was coming out I jumped at the chance to read it. Enticing Interlude brings us the story of Justin Jones who we originally meet in the first book. He's a classic rock star with a past full of sex and drugs. There was a scene that made him seem like a total douche but as I kept reading I totally fell in love with him. He's sexy, sweet, sensitive and not your typical "bad ass" jerk of a lead singer! Then comes our heroine Bridgett. She's been broken in the past but hasn't let it stop her from growing and becoming an amazing woman. She's strong, dedicated and when totally necessary can be a bitch!Because it's the second in the series I highly recommend reading Irresistible Refrain first. Each book follows different characters but they are within the same rock band so this book does contain spoilers to the first....a lot of the actually! Enticing Interlude starts right were Irresistable Refrain ends. I loved that about this book. I get tired of reading the series books where you have to go back and figure out what the hell happened in the first one when you start the next because one starts during the other. The story was very well written the only thing I think I needed was a little bit more angst but other than that I really enjoyed it.I can easily recommend this book to any readers who love rock stars, sweet romance and a little bit of heat!!!

Bridget Dubios is a twenty-one year old single mom. She’s lost her support system and has nowhere to turn so she calls on a friend in Vancouver. She has to start her life over and has to do it on her own. She doesn’t trust men since her son’s father shattered her beyond repair. Little does she know that the world she is about to enter is the world of rock stars.Don’t make the same mistake I did, this is book two in the Tempest series so I suggest reading book one first Irresistible Refrain. Although I had no trouble following the story I would have liked to know what happened in that book first. I really enjoyed this book. Bridget is a believable, strong and independent young woman who has made her share of mistakes but has owned up to them and moved forward. I love strong female characters that don’t need to be rescued by a man. Her story seems pretty clear cut but just when you think you know what to expect, bam it changes. Of course there is a love interest for her, Justin Jones, with “his alluring arsenal of smiles”. Can he break through her walls built to protect her and her son? Can he convince her to overlook his man-whore reputation? Can she not drool when he is “dressed in low slung tight jeans and a completely unbuttoned shirt, looking like a groupie’s wicked fantasy.”? And do ex’s ever stay in the past? I recommend reading this intriguing book to find out. I give this book 5 stars and look forward to more in the Tempest series. “It’s so big.” “I hear that’s a good thing.”

Do you love your Rock N Roll novels ? Did you enjoy Bryan and Lace's story with Book #1 in the Tempest series as much as I did? I have been looking so forward for months now to read this book and now that I have , I can truly say it does not disappoint. Enticing Interlude introduces us better to Justin Jones - Avery Jones's twin brother and the about to be new lead singer for the band Tempest. This book also introduces us to Bridget Dubois - this name made me smile as it is the same name as the middle daughter on the TV Show Medium which I loved. Both Bridget and Justin have had terrible upbringings but it seems though that Bridget has more to lose as she is also the single mother to 5 yr old Carter. A son she chose to give her whole life up for. Justin has never met anyone so beautiful and only has eyes for her , but is he ready to become an instant father as Bridget and Carter come as a package deal , a twofer ? Also it seems that Antonia has hunted Justin down , she is the one whose ex-mob partner tried to have him killed and wants him to back out of his testimony or else ? Both having baggage - the relationship can either work or be a disaster. Will Bridget allow Justin into Carter and her lives ? Will Justin fit in with the new band members as he is a replacement for their traitorous childhood friend ?Find out in Enticing Interlude by Michelle Mankin. This novel also explores the art of standing up for yourself and what is right and also that forgiveness and love are often the keys to make life happy.

This was book #2 of the Raging Tempest series, which I listened to as audiobooks. What I like about this series is that it’s not predictable. After all the rockstar romances I’ve read, I’ve come to expect certain things. These books tend to go deeper than what I expect. There is more character development and a different plot than I often come across. While there are graphic sex scenes, they are not over-the-top or so numerous as to overwhelm the plot. They also work well when read aloud. Maybe part of that is the wonderful narration by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross, but they don’t sound like bodice ripper scenes in the audiobooks. They sound amazing.I really like the characters in this book as well. I usually don’t enjoy kids in romance novels, especially rocker books, but Carter worked well in this one. I really like Justin but regret not reading the Brutal Strength series first. Interlude can be read as a standalone, but it had spoilers to that earlier series, and now I want to go back and read it.I didn’t quite like this one as much as Irresistible Refrain, though. The band wasn’t in it quite as much, and I found Bridget’s character to be a little inconsistent near the end, which was a blessing and a curse. She was stronger than I expected in some scenes but then weak when I expected her to be strong. It was nice that she wasn’t predictable, but it took away from the believability factor for me.Overall, it was a fun read, and I’d give it 4 ½ stars.
