When Caitlin and Trevor move into their new home, Caitlin realizes there is a terribly legacy which she must fight to keep Trevor from fulfilling. There is much Caitlin doesn’t know about the curse which afflicts Trevor’s family and what she must do to defeat it. Ms. Revezzo has written a truly haunting novel of love, curses, and the power of perseverance. The deep and complex characters and disturbing setting is a brilliant and compelling combination. I adored Caitlin’s strength of character in the face of such daunting evil and I believe a weaker person would have left not far into the events. Even Trevor’s actions, while grating at times, fit perfectly for the story being told. This is definitely an author and a series you’re going to want to keep your eye on! Don't forget to leave the lights on as you read this book!Antique Magic Series: The Artist's Inheritance (1)

The Artist's Inheritance centers on Caitlin and Trevor as they relocate to Florida after the untimely death of Trevor's brother. As we watch them settle into the new-to-them house and begin the process of cleaning up the bits of his brother's life, we realize soon that things are not okay. Cait is a strong woman deeply in love with and committed to her husband, which is why, when things start getting strange, she sticks by him rather than running away with her hands in the air. Here is a woman who is going to stand by her man, especially when he needs her the most.Cait begins to learn things, about Trevor's family, about their haunted past, about *her* haunted past, about the world around her, that she could have never suspected. Her whole drive, throughout the book, is to keep her family together. Can she do it, when forces she doesn't understand threatens to drive them apart?I absolutely _love_ this book. I've been following Juli's work for quite some time now, and I am so thrilled that she's released this book directly. Her writing is well executed, and the strength of the story is uplifting. There are moments in the book when, were I Caitlin, I would have left Trevor high and dry, and never mind if he went mad or not. There were moments when his behavior had me wanting to strangle him -- yet Cait's reaction were always true to her character. Juli's ability to write such believable characters is inspiring to behold. I mean it as the highest praise when I say, "I wanted to throttle him, but the way he acted made sense, given what was going on." her command of setting is as solid as her command of character. All in all, this book was a joy to read, and I highly recommend it.

Dark forces are at work seeking to tear Cait and Trevor apart. Can Trevor's lot as a pawn in a game forged by the Otherworld be transformed? His ancestors and siblings failed to avoid the consequences of the hereditary curse. A determined warrior, Cait refuses to accept defeat, refuses to let Trevor fall prey to those same dark forces. Aided by her witch friends, Cait merges herself with Trevor's family history, a past fraught with demons and ancient goddesses. She will fight and love is the key! This was an interesting read. I found myself wanting to take an axe to the chair as did Cait. Lots of chills and creepy moments. I'm never one to enjoy dark basements or gloomy attics and this story only confirms my decision.

I keep referring to this book in my head as a good, old-fashioned ghost story. But it's more than that. Madness and curses and critters who shouldn't see the light of day all combine to build a world that is slowly constricting on Caitlin as she watches her husband be consumed by something otherworldly. The hardest part for her is that while she can see that something's happening, she doesn't have the power to stop it.Wait. That's not quite right either. She has the power, she just doesn't realize it yet. She's caught between knowing that something's wrong and not being able to believe some of the things she's uncovering. Intuition and fact are clashing inside her and it's making things tough for her.Not to mention that the love of her life is slowly descending into something that wants to hold him tight and trap him in a cycle of violence.CREEPY.Fast, creepy, and just the thing if you're looking for a little spook to liven up your day.-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

Juli D. Revezzo's "The Artist's Inheritance" is a thriller that will appeal to fans of paranormal fiction. The author has developed an exciting tale that stretches backward into several generations of a family that appears to be cursed. Caitlin and Trevor are the current owners of the home where Trevor's twin died. As Caitlin tries to unravel the mystery of events surrounding his death, she experiences bizarre visions while her husband Trevor is strangely obsessed with a chair he is creating. It takes a small coven of witches to help Caitlin and Trevor obtain some sense of normality in their life -- but to say more would ruin the story for you, the reader! "The Artist's Inheritance" by Juli D. Revezzo is defintely a thrilling ride!

A couple’s love is put to the test by dark forces trying to tear them apart. Trevor seems helpless to meet his destiny of a hereditary curse, his art creations becoming an outpouring of consuming madness. Frightened by what is happening to her husband, Cait fights in any way she can, even finding she has ability to struggle against the demons on their own magical playing field. Her witch friends help her unlock powers she never imagined. I really enjoyed growing with Cait as she learns about her own magic and how to use it. Her brace spirit and determination to help her husband is compelling. Wonderfully spooky elements make for an exciting read!

The Artist's Inheritance had a wonderfully creepy undertone to it, sort of like the movie, Rosemary's Baby. Caitlin's husband Trevor, an artist, is increasingly absorbed with his latest work...a rather devilish chair. Caitlin discovers she's sensitive to the supernatural, and goes on a quest to unravel the mystery behind what is possessing Trevor, before it's too late. The story has ghosts and demons, plus witches who are on the side of good. I liked the way Caitlin wouldn't give up on her husband, no matter what. The novel is the beginning of a series, and I'll be looking for the sequels. A very well done debut novel for Revezzo.

The Artist's Inheritance is a well written supernatural thriller. While reading this book, I was reminded of the fantastic movie of the week flicks that came out in the 1970s - Harvest Home, Crowhaven Farm - I really miss those psychological, paranormal thrillers! This book delivers and reads like a movie. The heroine, Caitlin, unravels a mystery surrounding a Civil War fort, a creepy haunted chair, and a long line of suicides that just might claim her husband if she's unable to save him.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I enjoy a good ghost story, especially ones where objects are haunted or of possession so when the author of The Artist’s Inheritance reached out for a review, I was quickly intrigued by the synopsis. But my interest and excitement dimmed and more often than not, frustration took its place.I did enjoy the suspenseful scenes which were built-up well and I like the premise behind the plot. The third half of the ending was when the book started getting far better with the introduction of Trevor’s family connection to the chair and demon and Hofter’s character coming into play. The main problem with this book is the fact that the author spends the entire book TELLING the reader what is happening or events that had already transpired. The majority of the story feels dictated to the reader and what’s worse, it’s done with a monotone narration. The characterization is non-existent with characters who have no real depth or personality to them. Caitlyn is supposed to be the main lead that drives the plot forward but due to a dictated narration and flat personality, I found no strength in her character. She lacked common sense and allowed her husband to treat her as a doormat. She barely stood up for herself and when she did, she’d back down so easily. She also used sex to get him to calm down. It was just . . . wrong. Trevor is either aloof or insane throughout the book. His character was the only one that had any real spark of personality and that was only because he was being possessed by a demon through a chair. I was also disappointed by the debt Trevor’s family had to pay and why. I expected a much darker reason.Overall, The Artist’s Inheritance has some rough potential and had good suspense, the concept behind the story was interesting enough and the third half of the book was done well. I wish the author the best of luck with the sequel.

Settling into a new home, Caitlin notices changes coming over her husband. When nightmares deepen and ghosts begin lurking–Caitlin knows something’s not right, and not just her newfound precognitive abilities. It’s the damned chair her husband’s carving, she’s sure. Could it be just what it seems: a mundane piece of furniture? If so, why is it attracting dark forces–the forces she suspects drove Trevor’s siblings to insanity and suicide?Armed with a handful of allies–a coven of helpful witches–she must proceed with caution against the hellish forces besieging her family. If she fails, she may lose forever the one thing she cares about most: her beloved Trevor.Dollycas’s ThoughtsWhat a creepy story! It took me a chapter or two to get used to the author’s storytelling style and fantasy/paranormal is not my usual genre but I did enjoy this story.I did have a problem with the character of Cait. I know she loves her husband and he definitely was behaving strangely but I just didn’t feel a connection with her. Trevor on the other was frightening and scary and I found myself empathizing with him and all his family had suffered. The plot is very interesting and by the end of the book I was satisfied with the outcome. It left me wondering where the author will taking these character as this is the first book in a series.

Hang on a second, rubbing my arms to ease the chill I just got from reading this book!Okay, I'm good now. So is the book worth the read? YES! Revezzo takes readers on a compelling ride that really keeps readers on the edge of their seats. When married couple Caitlin and Trevor move into their new home, life changes for this happy couple. Trevor's twin brother died in the very home that Caitlin and Trevor move to, and Caitlin starts trying to discover what happened. While she does, Trevor becomes freakishly obsessed with a chair he is working on. As the story progresses, Caitlin's strength begins to show as she fights for her husband with the help of her coven sisters. I really enjoyed watching as Caitlin's strength and knowledge grow throughout the book. It takes a strong woman with a lot of heart to go through what Caitlin goes through for her husband. Amazing thrill!

What fun to read ! This tale comes to life as Cait struggles to save her marriage, her husband and her sanity. Sprinkled throughout with past-life Civil War battles, ghosts, goddesses, witchy friends, evil-doers and a family curse, the story is fast-paced and exciting all around. I read it in one sitting because I simply could not put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal stories.

**I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.** Wow! This book is full of some pretty scary situations. I love the paranormal aspect of it. The story line is a well thought out sequence of haunting events. The 'chair' is an object of desire that causes some great conflicts. I like how descriptive the author gets. The story itself is written well. The characters are a great mix. An all around great read.

The writing's not bad, but the characters just weren't very interesting to me. I think this would have worked better as a short horror story rather than a novel (and the first in a series, at that).
