This is my first book by A.M. Jones and I must say, it was great! From the very first page to the very last, A.M. Jones had me captivated. She has the ability to make her characters seem real and you can't help but empathize with them. Ms. Jones has that little something that lets you know that she loves to write. The chemistry between Eli and Taylor leaps off the page. You can feel the sexual tension between them and you are on edge wondering if and when anything will come of it. Ink Slapped has everything a reader wants in a good book... angst, tension, regret, revenge, jealousy, anger, guilt, heartache, sadness, forgiveness, attraction, lust and ultimately, love.
Taylor the queen of bad ass clothing and chalked hair. Also lets not forget she's a babe that has danced with the coyote ugly girls AND resembles Marilyn Monroe aka my FAV!! And Eli the leader of the no-name band, the guy that tries to make sure he's doing right by everyone even when it hurts him so bad... So basically this book was bad ass, it had everything I personally needed in it, the romance yet not screwin every 5 mins, the foul mouth trash talkin but in that sweet lovin manner that I personally have :) a lil rockn' roll and realistic problems that anyone can relate too. It's an amazing read and only thing left for me to really say is, when it hits the shelf just buy the damn thing!! PS: Can I have a Crockett?????
This was easily a 4-4.5 star book for me. But the promotion of a 5 star comes from unique and deep plot and character development. No formulas used here to achieve a story, this was a very well written book about bad circumstances, doing the right thing, staying true to yourself and overcoming societal norms.
