I got a copy in exchange for an honest reviewAs this is an anthology I'll review each short story seperately and then a conclusion of my opinion of the anthology in general.Lucky Break by Aria KaneIt was an okay story. The two main character haven't seen each other for quite some time and then run into each other while Andrea is called in to fix the dishwasher at the place Derek works. Most of the story is about them trying to figure out their feelings for each other and explaining the past while they both have work to do there as well. There was just a bit too little depth and all their problems seemed to stem from miscommunication 4 years ago.Lucky Star by Grace TeagueI liked this story. I always have liked friends-to-lovers stories. I especially liked the beginning of this story and I finished this one in one sitting. There were some places that felt a bit off or rushed, but overal this was a nice and enjoyable story. There was some miscommunication towards the end, but mostly this was a sweet story about a girl who finally gathers the courage to tell her best friend she's in love with him.A New Tune by Ana BlazeThis was a fun story. I liked Holly, although I thought her fear of dating musicians was a bit too extreme. The beginning felt a bit off and I thought Holly was a bit too mean to Cain and not giving him a chance, but later on that improves. I liked that they actually seemed to get to know each other and they did some honest talking beside having sex. I would've liked seeing what happens to them next.Lexi’s Chance by Constance PhillipsLexi's Chance is about a girl who is in love with bartender Sean. And sean's in love with her, but lexi thinks he flirts that way with all the patrons. It was a funs tory, although I thought some of the problems where resolved a bit too easy or quick. And then when they finally take a chance, their relationship develops really fast. I did like how we got to know these characters a bit and learned some of their secrets. Some of the changes in the character occures a bit fats, but then again it is a short story. Drink or Dare by Melinda DozierThis was a fun story. Since the first short story I've been wondering about Killian and what was up with him wearing a kilt and now we finally found out. I really liked this story, it was sweet and the character already knew each other. I liked the competitiveness between the main characters. I normally don't like dares in a story, but they where done sorta nice in this one, it didn't feel forced, more like the dare pushed Rachel to do somethign she wanted to but otherwise might not have done. I like dhow their relationship developed and they suddenly saw each other in a new perspective. The thing I like most about this anthology is how all these stories take place on the same night and there's intercation between the stories. For exmaple in each story it is mentioned someone walks around in a kilt in the pub, but you don't find out the whole story behind it until the last story. I also liked how some characters made a short appearance in other stories and everythign was just inegrated seamlessly. And then there's the well dressed old man that appear mysertiously in each short story. To conclude: This was a fun anthology with 5 stories that all take place in and around the same pub, mostly on the same night. There is some overlap and interactions between the stories and all the stories wher enjoyable and well written. Some parts fell a bit rushed and short, but then again it are short stories. These authors wrte some of the best anthologies I've read and I really like the overlap and connection between the stories that adds some depth to the anthology in general.

One Lucky Night is an anthology of five wonderful sexy tales, woven together with a single theme and taking place on one fateful winter night. The stories take place in The Brazen Head, an Irish pub in the heart of Boston owned and run by the Whelan siblings. Jaimie Whelan is the eldest brother and his wife is the head chef, but the premise of the evening is that the two of them are trying to take a rare night off together - a date night - leaving the pub in the hands of the other siblings.A snowstorm descends on Boston, and an older Irish gentleman in a bespoke grey suit takes up residence at the bar for the evening. He interacts with the characters in each of the stories, the other Whelans, the staff, and some of the regular patrons. He doles out the advice each needs to stop denying the attractions they feel, and follow their hearts. Is he some kind of leprechan? His advice is certainly magical. Each story was unique, with interesting characters and different points of view. I enjoyed each tale individually, as well as the way the stories worked together and played off one another. All five authors are gifted storytellers, creating characters you believe and care about, and sex scenes that may just melt your e-reader.My two favorites were "Lexi's Chance" and "A New Tune," with "Drink or Dare" coming in a close third. I especially loved the character of Sean Whalen throughout all the stories, as the cute sexy Irish bartender (a staple in Boston pubs, believe me!) Author Constance Phillips gives us the behind-the-bar view of what Sean's really thinking and feeling, and lets the reader glimpse the sweet guy lurks behind the facade. Ana Blaze's tale of the Irish musician flirting with the waitress is a similar tale of a man who acts like a player as part of his bar persona but is truly interested in just one thing... A real shot at love with the one woman he can't get enough of.Flirty, sexy and fun, this collection of sizzling tales will make you smile long after you finish turning pages.

My star rating for 'ONE LUCKY NIGHT' is 4 out of 5 stars! :)My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘One Lucky Night' by Authors Aria Kane, Grace Teague, Ana Blaze, Constance Phillips, Melinda Dozier (via: Booksmoviesfandoms.wordpress.com): One Lucky Night is a novel with five individual novelettes about taking chances on finding love. How each story intertwines with each other in one way or another, was also a nice touch. The five separate, yet connected Novelettes, revolve around different main characters all tied, in one way or another by a little Irish-American pub named The Brazen Head. Each of the stories are set from the same night. You’ll also notice one mysterious elder character who makes a cameo in each story, which I thought was a nice touch. Below are my individual reviews for each of the five Novelettes. Lucky Break by Aria Kane: The first Novelette is ‘Lucky Break’ by Aria Kane. The story is written in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views). Andrea ‘Andy’ Rivera heads to a small pub to fix an appliance and to her surprise, she comes face to face with her brother’s old best friend, Derek Chase, who she hasn’t seen or heard from in four years. Now that Derek sees Andrea again after leaving without a word long ago, he can’t help but feel torn. He’s torn between the urge to take her into his arms and never let her go or keep his word to his best friend, Ricky, and leave her alone. When there is so much left unsaid, it can change lives completely, especially when Derek left without a word. Find out if the heartbreak from their past can ever be forgiven. Lucky Star by Grace Teague: This is the second Novelette titled ‘Lucky Star’ by Grace Teague. We get to read the story in the main female character Charlotte Price’s P.O.V.(point of view). Her best guy friend’s name is Tommy Leung and he’s handsome and sweet but has been Charlotte’s friend for a few years now. Unbeknownst to him, Charlotte has been harboring secret feelings for him that she now plans to confessing to him. It has never been the right time with them since one of them was either dating someone else when the other was single or work and school has kept them busy. The story is sweet and refreshing in the sense that you get to experience her confession to her long time friend. Find out for yourself if Tommy feels the same or if friendship is all he wants from Charlotte. A New Tune by Ana Blaze: In the third Novelette ‘A New Tune’ by Ana Blaze, we get to enjoy the story from two P.O.V.’s(point of views). The two P.O.V.’s come from the main characters, waitress Holly Hall and local musician Cian O’Neill, who both work at The Brazen Head pub. Holly left college, family and friends behind for what she thought was true love and ended up brokenhearted. She moved and got a job with her sister Eliza, till she figured out what would be next for her. Cian O’Neill sings and plays his guitar at the pub and for the past few months since she’s moved here, he’s had Holly in his sights after one New Year’s Eve mindblowing-kiss. He doesn’t give up because his mind is set on her. She has turned him down since that kiss because she’s come to believe that every musician is a ‘no good’. This was a lovely story about trying to get over heartbreak and trying to give love a chance again. Lexi’s Chance by Constance Phillips: ‘Lexi’s Chance’ is the fourth Novelette and is written by Constance Phillips. This story comes from the two P.O.V.’s(point of views) of main characters Sean Whelan and Lexi Mattson. Sean is part owner of The Brazen Head pub and works as a bartender. He’s charismatic, flirtatious and charming while he serves his customers but there is one customer that he feels a special connection to. Lexi Mattson works to help those in need and the homeless. Like clockwork, every Friday she shows up with a co-worker and unwinds a little at the local pub. She likes Sean but isn’t sure if the words he says to her are any different than what he says to other female customers. To protect herself from getting hurt, she doesn’t let his sweet words break past her walls. Sean has his own reasons to protect himself and made a rule to never date a customer. This was a sweet story reminding us that looks and behavior can be deceiving. Also, that some chances, when they feel right, are worth the risk because sometimes there is a great payoff at the end of that risk. Drink Or Dare by Melinda Dozier: The fifth and final Novelette in ‘One Lucky Night’ is titled ‘Drink Or Dare’ by Melinda Dozier. You’ll be able to enjoy this story in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views), Killian Whelan and Rachel Robertson. Killian is one of the Whelan siblings, who is part owner of The Brazen Head pub but has his own dreams of completing his schooling to become a paramedic. Rachel is his fellow classmate, with the same goal but she’s also his biggest competition in class. On this night, Rachel goes with her friends for a bachelorette party to a local pub for a night of a drinks and a game called Drink or Dare. She had no clue that Killian would be there. Rachel and Killian always seem to compete and annoy each other in class but on this night, they may discover that there may be more between them, than just rivalry. ***I am very happy to have been given the chance to read and review an ARC copy of this great novel because these stories were enjoyable from start to finish! The characters were well written, the stories are shorter yet thorough and each novelette story never leaves you feeling gypped. I do recommend this novel for those that love wonderful stories that fulfill readers with romance, love and heartwarming endings. My Blogging Reader's Star Rating for 'One Lucky Night' is 4 out of 5 stars! :) Visit my Blog and see Memorable quotes and character photos of how I imagined them while reading ONE LUCKY NIGHT. It really was One Lucky Night when I was offered a chance to read an ARC of this book. I read this book I absolutely loved this anthology with stories all about a Boston pub. I've lived right outside Boston my whole life (with a few years right after college spent in the city) so I loved reading these stories. (A quick note: I read this book in the week before the Boston marathon. The news here was filled with stories of the marathon bombing victims from the year before and this anthology was a great pick me up. It was just what I needed at the time - reading happy stories about my city.)End of sadness now. Moving on - Boston is a very Irish city and I've spent more than my share of time at Irish Pubs and around Irish people (I'm of Irish descent myself). All of the authors portrayed the true feeling of Boston and the Irish heritage. I also loved how all of the stories were interwoven. They were all different, and could have been read as stand alones, but the characters were the same in all the story. The difference was that the main character in each story differed. All the men were sexy though, three of them being Good old Irish boys. Lucky Break was just that. Derek and Andrea didn't expect to see each other again, but when they did the sparks flew. They had real chemistry. In Lucky Star Charlotte put herself out there and made herself vulnerable, but it paid off. You could feel her vulnerability and sympathize with her. A New Tune was my favorite. I loved sexy Cian. As a musician there's nothing sexier than a male voice to me. Lexi's Chance told about sexy bartender Sean. He flirted with all the girls in the bar, but he opened himself up to Lexi.Drink or Dare was about Killian with the kilt. He's the youngest Whelan brother and one of my favorites. He was a great character to read about. If I was younger...The only real issue I had with these stories is that since I live here and know Boston so well I noticed a few things that were inconsistent (places, directions, etc). But other than those few (and I mean very few discrepancies) I absolutely loved this book and recommend it to everyone.

I love a good romance and have shied away from novellas in the past because the writing styles can be so different. Review Originally Posted at: Book FreakRating: 4.5 StarsFive authors, five short, five beautiful stories, and One Lucky Night. It started with Aria Kane’s Lucky break – and this one is my favorite among the five (although they are all really great!), but this is a book about second chances, forgiveness, and moving on. Derek Chase, the chef in the bar walked out of Andrea Rivera’s life after a tragedy that left them broken. Grief and guilt had kept them apart, and now, after four years fate had allowed them back together. Andy, a handyman (or woman for that matter) was called to repair the dishwasher, Derek wasn’t prepared to see her, and he wasn’t prepared for the sudden onslaught of the old feelings he has for her. Hopefully this time, he wouldn’t let her go. As for Andy, she allowed him to leave her all those years, but now, she wanted to know why he left her all those years. Will they be able to pass through the grief and guilt and start what they should have started four years ago?Grace Teague’s Lucky Star is all about taking risks and being honest about how you feel. It took a near death experience after being threatened by a mugger for Charlotte Price to realize that she’s in love with her best friend Tommy and she needed to tell him that. She wanted to tell him in the Brazen Head, but it seems fate has another thing in store for them. Tommy just got out from a relationship with Charlotte’s best friend, and that was one year ago. I just knew he has feelings for her too! It can’t be one sided, right?! I couldn’t let her confess her feelings if he doesn’t feel the same – their friendship would never be the same again! Good thing, it was their lucky night despite the snow.Ana Blaze’s A New Turne is all about Holly Hall and Cian O’Neill. If the first story was my favorite, Ana Blaze gave me my book boyfriend! – I love this guy! Totally! He was smooth, and charming. He knew she would be his girlfriend and he was patient enough to wait for the right time. But Holly had been burned before and dating him would be a gross mistake for her. Will she be strong enough to resist his charms and kisses?Constance Phillip’s Lexi’s Chance gave me my favorite female lead. Lexi was an amazing girl who’s out to save the world. It started when a tragedy strike her family under her watch. It has been eating her since then. So in return, she helps anyone who has needed it. Sean, on the other hand, knows how to flirt. He knew it brings out the tips, but Lexi was different. She was one of the regulars whom he secretly awaits during Friday nights. She’d been playing cat and mouse with him for weeks, and tonight, he was determined to make her know what he feels. What he didn’t expect is to get inside her world and know her deeply than he can ever imagine. Forgiveness starts with forgiving yourself. Lexi has been to hard with herself and didn’t allow herself much happiness because of the guilt that she was feeling. I was glad she took this chance, she deserves all the happiness she can get after being a superhero. My favorite couple goes to this last book – Melinda Dozier’s Drink or Dare. I already loved the kilt-wearing Killian since I read about him all those previous stories. I wonder what his will be. He was paired with his genius-fact-spilling nemesis Rachel Robertson. She was in for a bachelorette party in the Brazen Head. What she didn’t expect was the dare that was given to her to flirt with the guy who has been arguing with her every chance he got during their paramedic classes. Soon, they found themselves in a flirting match, and the arguments, all those academic rivalry turned out to be one-long foreplay. They were fun to read because of those arguments, and there were times I wished Killian would kiss her to shut up. Rachel was charming trying to give out facts every now and then, she just couldn’t help herself. This anthology had made my night. I have always loved short, fast-paced story that can make me swoon, and fall in love. This anthology had me falling not just once, but five times! Not to mention, it had made my hair rise with the creepy little thing going on inside the bar with regards to this mysterious visitor that seemed to be making them all lucky.✪Complimentary Copy was given in exchange for an honest review.✪

As posted at The Reading Cafe 11 May 14http://www.thereadingcafe.com/one-lucky-night-anthology-blog-tour-and-giveaway/4 out of 5 for this reader folks! This is a harder review for me as One Lucky Night is an anthology written by five different authors and consists of five different stories. I tend to avoid anthologies as they usually are short stories weaved into a series and I’m rarely reading all the series that are involved. I decided to approach this anthology differently and not worry about whether any series were involved and just appreciate five short stories by authors I have never read before. I am some glad I did that, because this was a REALLY REALLY good collection. We have one setting called Boston’s Brazen Head Pub that features all five stories. Unlucky in love, the patrons just may find that luck is changing when a mysterious individual decides to become a little busy body …. LOLLUCKY BREAK by Aria KaneAfter four years of no communication and heart break, Andrea (Andy) and Derek cross paths suddenly when Andy is called to the pub to fix an appliance. Well it doesn’t take long for sparks to ignite and unsaid emotions bubble to the surface. Derek is Andy’s brother’s best friend and has vowed to stay away from his sister. Easier said than done though when fate decides it’s time for these two to sort it out already! I have to say, problems that arise from lack of communication drive me bonkers, especially when it’s so avoidable. Four years have been wasted and these two stubborn, meant to be together souls, really need to get it together is they want a happy ending.LUCKY STAR by Grace TeagueWhat happens when you are in love with your best friend but fearful of the “friend” card being played against you? Well Charlotte and Tommy are about to find out. They have been the closest of friends for some time now, but have decided it’s time to take a chance and spill their feelings in the hope that the other will feel the same. I am a sucker for a friends to lovers story and this one was heart warming and so beyond sweet. A little “oops” near the end of the story, but when something is meant to be, fate makes sure it happens.A NEW TUNE by Ana BlazeAfter taking a chance and being left heart broken, Holly has no interest in dating a musician .. again. After sharing a New Years Eve kiss with Cian (a musician that works at the pub), Holly is fearful of heart break once again. She builds up her walls and does all she can to push Cian away. I do love a persistent man and before Holly realizes it, she is being full on pursued. Cian isn’t messing around either … he wants Holly, and he’ll do whatever he can to break down those walls. Full of sweet endearing moments, this was a perfect love story.LEXI’S CHANCE by Constance PhillipsSean is a co-owner of the pub and takes his job seriously, knowing that sweet words and flirting gets the ladies through the front door, and coming back for more. When he begins to flirt with Lexi, he sees something very different about this woman and really wants to pursue her and see if they would make a good couple. A couple problems though, Sean doesn’t date his customers and Lexi thinks he is just a player. Lexi spends her days helping the needy and every Friday night she enjoys kicking back with her colleagues and having a couple of drinks. She is attracted to Sean but realizes that he flirts with all the girls, so she certainly isn’t anything special. If they both can stop long enough to realize that there is something pretty great between them, they just may have a chance at love.DRINK OR DARE by Melinda DozierThis one was my fave! Must be because it was full of sass. Killian is a co-owner of this pub. His heart and passion however are in becoming a paramedic and he is currently in school earning his degree. Rachel is one of Killian’s classmate and his competition in academics. Always trying to one up each other, they push the other to do better. Rachel attends a bachelorette party that just so happens to be hosted at the pub, and can’t believe it when she discovers Killian is one of it’s owners. Before we know it, these two are engaging in a heated game of drink or dare, once again trying to upstage the other. This time however, the line of friendly rivalry is crossed and before they know it, they are playing for keeps … of each other. This was soaked in humour and fun but the stakes were always high … good thing they both end up winning! LOLOverall, a wonderful collection of stories. I do love when authors collaborate with each other and we get peeks of another story before or after they have happened. This was well done throughout the entire book. If you enjoy romance and need a quick fix, this is a great selection to add to your collection.HAPPY READING! :)

Thank you, Aria Kane, for giving me an ARC, ecopy of One Lucky Night, for an honest review.First of all, I love how all five of these stories are connected. All five couples find love on the same night, at the same place. Events from one story will coincide with events in another. At times, the reader will get to see the same event through multiple view points throughout each story. It made for a very entertaining read. Also, I loved that the old man with the white beard, gray three-piece suit and green tie appeared in all the stories. His sage advice helped all the couples and, although this anthology isn't a paranormal story in the least, I liked how he magically vanished only to reappear, and then vanish again later. He was like an Irish love spirit sent to Earth to bring people together. It was very romantic.Although there were typos and grammatically-incorrect sentences (mostly in story 5 that I could tell), it didnt take away from the book. I just hope that the editors will fix the problems during revisions and final edits.Lucky Break by Aria KaneAndrea Rivera and Derek Chase have a shared past of romance and heartache. I admired both characters (especially her strong-willed personality and his innate nature to protect no matter what) even though their actions stopped them from being together for four years. They finally reconnect over a broken dishwasher that wasnt even broken. The sparks fly and the claws shred light into why their romance failed. This was a beautiful story of second chances, the importance of honesty and the fact that tragedy can either bring people closer together or tear them apart.4 Stars.Lucky Star by Grace TeagueCharlotte Price and Tommy Leung are best friends and hes the one she calls after a frightening encounter with a mugger. She reevaluates her whole life and realizes that her biggest regret if she had died was that Tommy didnt know that she was in love with him. She set out to tell him but one disaster after another stopped her, until everything blows up in her face.I really liked Charlotte and Tommys banter and their very close yet platonic friendship. The POV is entirely Charlottes and she puts Tommy on a pedestal (and downplays herself) which kinda annoyed me after a while. Anyway, I wont give away the ending (ie: Tommys reaction to her admission once she finally tells him) but there is a HEA.3 Stars.A New Tune by Ana BlazeHolly Hall and Cian ONeill have spent the past few months flirting but now she avoids him like the plague after a surprise kiss on New Years Eve. Shes a waitress at the bar, hes a musician who performs at the bar, so they constantly see each other. Shes dealing with a fair share of embarrassment and heartache from past mistakes and she refuses to let him close. Cian is determined to break through her walls with soulful, romantic songs. I admire his tenacity and the fact that he never gives up on Holly even though she has given him countless reasons to do so.Their romance is slow to build but once it does wow, its sizzling. I love stories with musicians, especially honorable musicians like Cian who doesnt sleep with every hot girl who bats her eyelashes at him. It was very refreshing.4 Stars.Lexis Chance by Constance PhillipsSean Whelan is one of the brothers who owns and operates The Brazen Head. Hes sexy, confident and a total flirt. Lexi Mattson runs a homeless shelter and, because of past trauma, she takes her job far too seriously. Shes wary of falling for Sean because he flirts with most of the women in the bar but she soon realizes that hes more than he seems.Sean is my favorite hero of the series. I think the other mens personal trauma was worst than his but Seans sincerity and sexy actions regarding Lexi pulled me in like a moth to the flame.4 Stars.Drink or Dare by Melinda DozierKillian Whelan and Rachel Robertson have an academic rivalry. They both want to be the best so much that they have overlooked a potential romance for months, until Rachel walks into Killians family pub and sees him in a kilt. Killian lost a bet with his brother, Sean, and has to wear the sexy Irish kilt all night. Her friends instantly see their attraction to one another and set out to force them together through a series of flirtatious dares. It was fun to watch Rachel break free of her demure, shy demeanor and take a chance. Killian has a huge crush on Rachel and finally expressed his feeling for her through teasing banter. Their romance plays throughout the whole story for a hot climax at the end.4 Stars.

The Brazen Head Pub sounds like a fun place and with all the hotties running around, it’s not hard to figure out why!LUCKY BREAK by Aria Kane, LUCKY STAR by Grace Teague, A NEW TUNE by Ana Blaze, LEXI’S CHANCE by Constance Phillips, and DRINK OR DARE by Melinda Dozier are fun, quick reads that will entertain. There is nothing too heavy or dark, but there are lots of laugh-out-loud moments and swoon-inducing sexiness. I loved that all the connections were a long time coming. No love at first sight stories here. The characters had some sort of history and on this night, with some luck, they will all finally see through the mishaps and find each other.LUCKY BREAKAria KaneDerek Chase is a chef at the Brazen Head Pub and when the dishwasher breaks, none other than his best friend’s little sister and the girl he walked out on four years ago comes to fix it. Andrea Rivera has never gotten over Derek or understood why he left her without a word, but it’s clear that they still have chemistry.Understanding why Derek left Andrea is heartbreaking and sad, but their story of childhood friendship turned into love is sweet and their adult romance is hot. While at first I wanted to hate Derek, it becomes clear the last thing he ever wanted to do was leave Andrea and now he can’t let her go again.A NEW TUNEAna BlazeHot guy who can sing, play the guitar and has the kind of cocky swagger that only comes from a man who deserves it. Yep, sign me up!Holly Hall refuses to date musicians, especially hot ones. Cian O’Neill definitely fits the description of hot and talented, so despite that one hot kiss, she must stay clear. He’s not one to back down though and he figures with some persistence she will eventually see how good they could be together. You know that Holly must have a good reason to deny Cian over and over. Who could say “no” to that man so many times without eventually caving? I’m pretty sure I would’ve have kicked a groupie in the teeth too. At least “accidentally” spilled a beer on one.LEXI’S CHANCEConstance PhillipsLexi is always taking care of others and ignoring her personal life. She can’t help going into the Brazen Head Pub every Friday night to sit at the bar and enjoy the sexy, flirtatious bartender, Sean. Sean is tired of only being a woman’s plaything and he’s determined to finally show Lexi he’s more than a flirty playboy. So Sean has been making anonymous donations to the homeless shelter where Lexi works. How freakin’ cute is that?! He knows how much she cares and that makes her so much more than another pretty face at the bar.DRINK OR DAREMelinda DozierKillian Whelan and Rachel Robertson are rivals in paramedic school and REALLY do not get along. Imagine Rachel’s surprise when out for her friend’s bachelorette party, she runs into Killian at the Brazen Head Pub. Of course, no bachelorette party is complete without embarrassing games and when Rachel’s friends get a look at Killian, they make this game of Truth or Dare a chance for Killian and Rachel to see each other as more than academic rivals. This was my favorite of the stories for two reasons: 1) hot guy in a kilt and 2) sexy Truth or Dare. DRINK OR DARE was really funny and extremely sexy. Killian was really upset that he lost a bet that made him wear that kilt, but women are seriously intrigued by the kilt (or the chance of the lack of underwear underneath).I was amazed at the authors’ ability to blend all five stories into a tale of one magical night. Each story connects an employee with a special someone and while all stories could be read separately, they are intertwined at some point at this pub and the mysterious old Irishman doling out bits of wisdom. ONE LUCKY NIGHT is insanely cute and fun with a whole lot of sexy.✳✳ Copy provided by the author/publisher for an honest review. ✳✳ Reviewed on I ♥ Bookie Nookie Reviews

Reviewed for Evie at www.Evie-Knight.comReview copy courtesy of the publisher.Alright, you all know how I feel about novellas: I don't love 'em. Anthologies are just a bunch of novellas grouped together, so I don't love those either. But this anthology from Aria Kane, Grace Teague, Ana Blaze, Constance Phillips and Melinda Dozier is the anthology to prove me wrong. Sure, it's filled with novellas but first, they're GOOD novellas. Great novellas, even. Second, each of them revolves around a bar, The Brazen Head, and each story is from a different person or couple's point of view from the same night. It's the first time I've read anything like this and it was A LOT of fun. Also, there's a mysterious older gentleman involved but is he a ghost or something more? We don't ever find out for sure but it added a little wink to each story and made it that much more fun and interesting. So without further ado, here we go!Lucky Break by Aria KaneDerek and Andy (Andrea) have a sad backstory together. But here, they're meeting again after four years apart. The heat is immediate and palpable. Derek is the sous chef at Brazen Head and you know I'm a sucker for a story that has cooking involved! Never mind that he's hot and adorably sweet. Andy is great and I loved that she had a non-traditional job as a dishwasher/hot water heater repair person. This was a great start to the book!Lucky Star by Grace TeagueCharlotte and Tommy have been pals for years, ever since freshman year. She's finally worked up the nerve to tell him how she feels but it's just not going according to plan. Charlotte was pretty funny, especially when she's reacting to Tommy trying to be protective and she says, "I'm a girl. It's not a mental disorder." I about pissed myself laughing! Tommy was just okay. He's a career-guy and has little time for anything other than that career right now. But this story was a bit more about Charlotte so I can forgive that. This story was the least-sexy of the bunch and it wasn't as much fun to read but it was still pretty good.A New Tune by Ana BlazeHolly and Cian were a totally cute couple. Especially since Holly wants NO part of Cian! It was obvious that Cian was a good guy and he was absolutely charming but that's because the reader was able to see things from his point of view sometimes. But I could really see why Holly didn't really want to have anything to do with the too-sexy musician, particularly because Holly had a bad relationship with a musician in her past. This was a pretty great story and the end was open-ended and really sweet.Lexi's Chance by Constance PhillipsLexi and Sean were a match made in heaven! But Lexi has never been sure if Sean is just being a flirty bartender or if he's actually interested in her. But I still think Sean was freaking irresistible. He can for sure pour on the charm to up his tips but I was still able to see when he was being sincere and that he chooses to hide his true self behind a facade of a flirty bartender. It was relieving to have Lexi catch on to his true self and his sincerity as well. My only issue with this story was that I felt Lexi's very serious issues were solved WAY too quickly. But this is a novella and a resolution has to happen soon, so it was easy to forgive. This story was a teensy more depressing than the rest.Drink or Dare by Melinda DozierThe last story of this book was great. Killian, the hero, was sweet and adorable and wow, he knows how to rock a kilt! Rachel was smart and headstrong and I loved her. She rattles off these random figures and percentages whenever she's nervous or doesn't know what to say. That just cracks me up! Rachel is there with her friends on a pub crawl for a Bachelorette Party, which is where the title of this novella comes from. This was a fun and cute read and was probably one of my favorites of the book.Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would have to recommend this to just about anyone who likes a variety of short stories with a central theme in common. Lots of great characters and fun situations are sure to enchant all kinds of readers. I say check this one out!

3.75 starsThis was a fun and entertaining read that centered on events and characters that work and/or visit Boston’s Brazen Head Pub. I enjoyed the concept of the old Irish Man handing advice to each individual in a subtle way so that they could approach their love interest, reconsider a situation or just enlighten that particular character in regards to their love life.Lucky Break by Aria KaneI really enjoyed this one because the author made sure that the connection between Derek and Andrea shined through. Even though short, sweet and to the point, this story brought about lots of emotions and interactions that made the reconnection between Derek and Andrea seem believable.I loved that they hesitated and questioned what they were feeling even though the attraction they had shared was still there. Matured and with a broader understanding of circumstances, Derek and Andrea let go of their guilt and their resentment to allow themselves the chance to explore what once had brought them together.Lucky Star by Grace TeagueI admit that this one was not one of my favorite reads of the collection simply because Charlotte seemed to be too needy. I understood where she was coming from but she whined too much and did allow herself the chance for Tommy to make a move.It didn't help that the pace dragged a bit and that Charlotte and Tommy didn't interact enough for me to believe the connection the author tried to bring to the page. I especially would have loved to see Tommy's POV in this story. I think he was a complex individual that because of the length of the story was not allowed to show his true-self.Just not the right story for me, but enjoyable nonetheless.A New Tune by Ana BlazeI loved Cian! He was so true and to the point that I found myself grinning at his every statement. Holly was great too and a perfect pair for Cian. She gave as good as she got and I enjoyed watching her walls crumble around Cian.I do admit that it took me a while to warm up to Holly but once I understood her story I admired her strength of character and her hesitation when it came to starting something with Cian.Needless to say that their chemistry was HOT! I think this was my favorite couple in regards to how well they complemented each other. I wouldn't mind reading more about them!Lexi’s Chance by Constance PhillipsThis one was a fun story to get through. I loved that Lexi had a good head on her shoulders but was a little wild too. And Sean was a fantastic character to get to know! He was fun and a flirt, but underneath all that charm laid a heart of gold.Their interactions were fun and flirtatious and it was a treat to see how they went about coming together.Drink or Dare by Melinda DozierThis was an interesting story for me because I was curious about Killian when he kept making appearances in the other stories. And hell, was not interesting about a man that walks around in a kilt?!I enjoyed the concept of having the main players partaking in a game of Truth or Dare. It brought about the competitive side of the MCs and in the end it gave them the push they needed to take that first step in coming together. All in all, One Lucky Night was an entertaining set of stories that flowed together as a whole with fun characters, romantic scenes and hot little encounters!*I received a copy of this title in exchange of my honest opinion.

Rating 4 1/2 Stars Posted on What I'm ReadingI got a chance to read One Lucky Night, which centers around the Brazen Head Pub. So, here's a little recap of my thoughts on each of the stories:Lucky BreakAria KaneI enjoyed this story. In this story you find former lovers, Andrea Price and Derek Chase. However, Derek walked out of her life, because of the family wishes. Yet, Derek gets a second chance with Andrea. What I really liked about this story is Derek realizing he made mistake and wants to fix the mistake.Lucky StarGrace TeagueIn this story we find two friends. Charlotte Price has been in love with her good friend, Tommy Leung, forever. However, she's been afraid to tell him her feelings. Yet, she finds the courage which kind of rocks the boat a little. Overall, I enjoyed this friends to lovers story.A New Tune Ana BlazeI have to say I got a chuckle out of this story. You have Holly Hall and Cian O'Neil who are hot for one another. If they ever got together they might combust. Anyway, Holly has this fear about getting with Cian, of course it stems from past relationship. Seriously, the story was great, because these two characters go head to head. I love Cian cause he just so sweet and understanding. Really liked this story.Lexi's ChanceConstance PhillipsYep, liked this story too. In the story we have Sean Whelan and Lexi. Now Sean has had a crush on Lexi, but she keeps shooting him down cause she doesn't believe he's sincere. Yea, he's a flirt with every girl at the bar, but he has his eyes on one girl. So, he lets his guard down so Lexi could see the sweet Sean. Sean is actually a great guy once he lets the shield down. Drink or Dare Melinda DozierThe last story. This one features Killian Whelan and Rachel Robertson. Now these two have been competing against each other while at school. Each one trying to get the higher score in the paramedics program. However, they see each other in a different light when they let there hair down. This one was another fun read cause Killian is stuck wearing a kilt and Rachel is at a bachelorette party and has to do some dares. Things get a bit interesting with these two.Overall, as a whole One Lucky Night is quite entertaining. All the stories center around the Brazen Head Pub. Each of the stories work well together and you can see that ladies work together to form this anthology, because you will see characters in each of there stories. Yet, each story focus on the a certain couple the author is writing about. The anthology has one character that stands out as the guide to help them find there love. You get the feeling he's kind of a ghost or a guardian angel, but you don't really know. He's just there to each of them out. Yes, I enjoyed each of the stories. Each couple gets there a hot night with the person they are pining for. You will find a little magic in each of the stories. Copy provided by authors

Lucky Break - This story combined two of my favorite tropes, romantic interest in a best friend's sibling and a reunion. Now I'm of a mind that when one partner leaves and breaks the heart of the other, the offender must suffer trials that make Hell look like Club Med. Well, that's hard to do in a novella. And, most characters in romance literature (except for the villains) are much nicer and more forgiving than myself. Thus the title, it was indeed a Lucky Break for Derek, in more ways than one. Andy was one of the nice ones. She listened, then went with her heart. It was a fun, well written story.Lucky Star - To me this was the most serious addition to the anthology. It also had a sweeter feel to it, IMHO. It had a distinctly New Adult taste, but was still a worthy contribution, and I do adore a friends to lovers tale.A New Tune - I know this may cause some discord, but I love, love, loved Holly. I was so glad to see her stick to her guns for so much of the story. Musicians, no matter how sexy, are a gamble. I require proof of intent. So did Holly! And groupies, hmmmmm, I would have had an assault charge. Luckily, Holly listened to her rational self and eventually to Cian. I love that name and it just fit his sexy persona. This was an awesome read.Lexi's Chance - Yay! I thought this was so great. I mean who can blame Lexi for not taking Sean seriously. Bartenders are almost as big a gamble as musicians. Their livelihood depends on how well they flirt. I truly enjoyed their interplay and their realization that what they felt for each other was mutual and real. I smiled, chuckled and went awwwww.Drink or Dare - What can I say? A man in a kilt, an IRISHMAN in a kilt! Really, that should be enough. I would buy every book with that in the blurb. Even though it is the result of a lost wager, Killian rocks the tartan. I also love competitiveness amongst couples, in moderation of course. I think it adds a bit of spice and who wants to be saddled with a sore loser or overly obnoxious winner. This was a gift of an ending to the anthology, like a cherry on an already decadent sundae. It left a pleasing taste and delightful memory and I couldn't have been more satisfied. Conclusion - This was an outstanding example of what an anthology should be. Differing styles, differing POV's, differing tones, but all tied together with an entertaining bow. I absolutely loved the connectivity of the novellas, it reminded me of an updated younger Cheers. I even started picking out who would be who's kid. Like, of course I picked Killian as Sam's offspring, and Holly was Dianne's niece. Of course I used my own parameters but it was fun. Annnnnd that proves my point! It was fun, even when it had it's sad or serious moments, it merely highlighted the brightness of the books. I am so glad I agreed to take a chance on this book. It paid off BIG TIME. Superior job ladies, applause and brava.

One Lucky Night – An Anthology – 3.75 starsThis is a romantic collection of five, interrelated short stories revolving around one, snowy night in an Irish pub in Boston. Each character meets an eccentric old man, gets lucky in love, and has some hot sex. This is a lovely collection which is like comfort food for the heart. Think shepherd's pie, chicken pot pie, and boxty accompanied by a pint of Guinness.Lucky Break by Aria Kane – 3 starsNew adults try to fix the mistakes of the past, and rekindle their first love. The plot is fairly complex to tackle in a short story, and deep rooted issues are resolved rather quickly. The heroine is both adorable, and strong. This feels more like an excerpt from a larger story, and I was left wanting the rest. Lucky Star by Grace Teague – 4 starsThis is a friends to lovers storyline, which centers around two new adults. After being mugged, Charlotte turns to her friend Tommy for comfort, and then struggles trying to tell him she feels more than friendship for him. It's an engrossing story with a very satisfying ending. I cheered for Charlotte as she stumbled through her dilemma.A New Tune by Ana Blaze – 4 starsHolly fights her attraction to Irish, folk singer Cian every step of the way. She's been burnt before, and doesn't plan to make the same mistake twice. Fortunately for us, Cian is not only charming, but also has the luck of the Irish. The author lets us in on the beginning of what promises to be a wonderful relationship. Cian is a delightful morsel, and it's fun watching him seduce Holly.Lexi’s Chance by Constance Phillips – 3 starsThe most flirtatious bartender at the pub struggles with his attraction to the most self-sacrificing woman he has ever met. These two people are polar opposites who find both common ground and love. Unfortunately, Sean and Lexi come across more as caricatures than people, and their attraction was a little hard to understand. It's a cute story for those who like classical romantic archetypes.Drink or Dare by Melinda Dozier – 4 starsA bachelorette party provides the perfect excuse for two competitive students to explore their attraction to one another. The party game is fun, and I wish there had been even more details on the dares. The hero is wearing a kilt, which automatically adds bonus points to this review! It's a cute story, which proves once again that anger and love are closer emotions than we think.

***Received from authors for an honest review***“The best ones are always worth the extra work.” – Old man at the bar (A New Tune by Ana Blaze)That pretty much sums up each story in this anthology.Every person in each couple had to work to make the relationship happen. It wasn’t about attraction and lust. It was about forming an actual bond that started in the heart, overtook the mind, then were made real by touch and word. And I liked that these relationships didn’t come easily for anyone. What made me smile the most wasn’t that each couple got a happy ending, but that at least one person from each couple had some kind of conversation with the old man from the above quote. I like to think of him as the catalyst that gave each person the courage to profess their feelings. He seemed to always know what to say to shed light on the situation (like the quote above) and his advice/observations were always spot on.The authors did a fantastic job creating stories around a central place. The pub, with all its hustle and noise and customers, made for an excellent backdrop for each story. Though each story is novella length, I have to say I didn’t feel cheated one bit when I reached “The End”. There’s plenty of love, lust, and sex in these five stories to make up for the length of each one. ;)Terrific job, ladies. Your offerings in this anthology gave me a chance to slip from the busyness of my world into the comfort of the Brazen Head Pub and watch, first hand, the romances around me unfold.

One Lucky Night is a 5 novella in one book !!! Not just that, the novellas all have to do with people who all have something to do with the Boston’s Brazen Head Pub. It is stories that somehow all work their way together to become one larger story. I am from Boston and love a good story that has anything to do with my hometown. This book did not disappoint. The highlight was the cold and snowy night that everyone encountered. I don't NOT miss those days! But cold and snowy night do make for good romance. The novella are also set with a hint of magic. I loved the old Irish man who gave advice. I thought it was a sweet touch. He was there one second and gone the next without anyone knowing who he was. He game heat advice and was like a cute grandpa trying to help everyone out. Each novella tells a story about first loves who got away, or new loves, or even finding love. I felt the authors did a great job of telling their own stories, but making them all relate to the bar. I thought this was a great read. It had a little something for everyone. I will be sure to read these authors again!

This Anthology is five stories that all take place on the same cold and snowy night in an Irish American pub in Boston, Massachusetts. In each of the stories you get to see through two of the characters points of view. I love the way all of the stories intertwine, and there is this one intriguing elderly Irish gentleman, who gives out sage advice, in each of them. What happens in these five stories heats up a cold Boston night!

Lucky Break by Aria Kane Review Four years ago Derek left Andrea because he felt like he was honoring his best friend’s last wishes, even though it tore him apart to do so. Andrea never got over Derek. She had been in love with him for as long as she could remember, but he ripped her heart out when he left without a word. When a repairman is called to fix the dishwasher where he is the chef, the last person he expects to walk in the door is Andrea. They are both thrown for a loop as they are forced to face their past. Derek can’t help but want to be with her, she is the only person he has ever wanted. Andrea would love answers about why he left and had not contacted her in four years. As the night wears on, they can’t help but feel the pull between them. Soon they are making out in a cramped hallway in the back of the bar. Is Andrea ready to forgive him and move forward in their lives together? Is Derek ready to follow his heart and claim the only woman he has ever loved? This is a wonderful story about coming to terms with your past and getting a second chance at love. I felt so sorry for Derek and all the agony he was going through regarding the death of Andrea’s brother, but knew he needed to forgive himself and move on. Will they get their HEA? You will need to read the story to find out!Lucky Star by Grace Teague Review During a frightening mugging, Charlotte realizes that she is in love with her best friend Tommy. When she finally gets up the nerve to confess her feelings, she invites him to her local pub, The Brazen Head so she can be on neutral ground. She has no idea if Tommy feels the same way, but she knows she can’t go on without telling him. Tommy is not sure why they came to the local pub, but he does know that he doesn’t like the way the staff is flirting with her. He is not sure how he feels about Charlotte and that makes his jealousy even more confusing. When the head back to her apartment, she finally works up her nerve and tells him how she feels. What will Tommy’s response be? Is he ready to be in a relationship again after his last one ended badly? Can he stand to lose her if his feelings are not the same? I liked Charlotte’s story because I think a lot of people can relate to it. She fell in love with her best friend and is scared to make a move. If he doesn’t feel the same, she could lose him forever and she is not sure she can live without him. It is a sweet story about taking risks and going after what your heart desires, make sure you don’t miss out and see how this story ends!A New Tune by Ana Blaze Review Holly is trying to get her life back together and making a not so wise choice to drop out of college and follow her musician boyfriend on the road. When he throws their relationship away, she vows to never become involved with another musician. However, she begins to rethink her position when she meets Cian.Cian has pursued Holly for months. All he wants is the opportunity to prove to her that he is worth the risk. While he has no idea why she is so put off by him being a musician, he vows to make her see who he really is. When he gets the chance to spend time with her due to a snowstorm, you better believe he is going to take advantage of it. The more time they are together and the more Holly starts to see the real Cian, she starts to realize that he is nothing like her ex. When the sparks become too much, they finally erupt in one scorching hot couch session. Will Holly completely give herself over to Cian, or will she run from the intimacy? Can Cian finally break through Holly’s walls and show her he will love her 100% and will always be there for her?I understood why Holly was holding herself back from Cian. She had truly been burned by her ex and was not ready to repeat the past. However, the more she was around Cian, I truly wanted them to be together. He was so sweet and wanted nothing more than to make her happy. I was really happy with the outcome of this story and I believe you will enjoy it too.Lexi’s Chance by Constance Phillips Review Sean never has a shortage of women trying to get his attention and trying to get him his bed. After all, he is a hot bartender in his family’s pub. However, the only one that he wants to get close too is always just out of his reach. But tonight, he plans to make his feelings toward Lexi known and get her to take a chance on him.Lexi has been coming into the pub every Friday night just to see Sean. While she doesn’t belive his flirting is genuine, she has no shame in enjoying it. She just wishes she knew if his flirting was real or just another tool of the trade. When she starts to see different pieces of the real Sean, she can’t help but fall farther under his spell. He is such a sweet, caring man but be doesn’t let people see that side of him. When he finally confesses how he feels, she is totally blown away. She wants nothing more than to fall into his waiting arms, but she is scared to take a chance on him. Will Sean be able to get through to her heart and claim it as his own? Will Lexi tell him about her past and risk he may change his mind? In order to find out, you will need to read the story. After reading the other three stories, I really wanted to know more about Sean. He seemed like such a sweet guy, but you could tell he was holding back. When you finally see how tender he is with Lexi, you can’t help but fall for him. I love how he handled the news about her past and convinced her to let go and move on. It truly is a sweet story about moving on and learning to live each day to the fullest.Drink or Dare by Melinda Dozier Review This was such a sweet, fun story to read. Rachel is out with her friends for a bachelorette party and just happens to start their pub crawl at The Brazen Head. The last person she expects to find there working is fellow paramedic student, Killian. She has always found him attractive, but when she sees him in a tight shirt and kilt, she is done for.Killian has had a crush on Rachel for a while, but was too scared to act on his feelings. Even with their bickering at school, he can’t help but fall for her. She is the only girl he has wanted since coming back from visiting his parents in Ireland. As the night wears on and Rachel is drinking more and more, the game of drink and dare is started. Rachel is dared to not only flash Killian, but kiss him as well. When her lips meet his, lets just say the bar heats up a few degrees!! There is no denying their attraction to one another. The only question is to whether or not they will take a chance on finding love. Will they finally give in to their feelings? Will they get their HEA? You will need to read the story to find out. I promise you will not be disappointed. It was a great story to end the book on and I really liked Rachel and Killian together. All I can say is HOT, HOT, HOT!! Don’t just take my word for it, make sure you get your copy of this book today!

I don't read many compilations. Usually I find the stories too short, too scattered. But one thing I do enjoy is when they are all intertwined together. It's like getting multiple perspectives, and I just love that. So when the opportunity came to read One Lucky Night, I was more than happy to hop on board. My first pick is Lucky Break, by Aria Kane. Lucky Break is the story of Derek and Andy, well... Andrea. Derek is a chef at The Brazen Head, an Irish bar that this whole compilation kind of centers around. On this particularly snowy night he's the only chef, and is a bit short-staffed. On top of that, the dishwasher is broken, and the handyman, Andy, is on his way to fix it. Except Andy isn't a man. She's Andrea. And her and Derek know each other.I really love stories like this! You know, where something in the past ripped them apart, miscommunication is all over the place, and fate decides to throw them back together? Yep - love it. And in Derek and Andrea's case, I couldn't have been happier. The care, the tension, the need, it was all evident between them. I found both characters to be very likable, and I wanted them to get together by the end of their story.Derek is a bit mischievous, and Andrea is all grown up now. The way they play off each other really worked well for me. I loved the little bits of reminiscing, and I loved the steamy and sensual kisses they stole in the dark. Definitely a great way to start the book!Next, I really enjoyed A New Tune, by Ana Blaze. This is the story of Holly and Cian. Holly is a waitress at The Brazen Head, and Cian is the musical entertainment. This one surprised me, because "rock star romances" aren't really at the top of my list. Ok, he's not technically a rock star, but he is a musician, and he's got the reputation to go with it. Or at least, that's what Holly thinks. Holly's been burnt in the past by a musical man, and she's determined to not let it happen again. But yep, fate is definitely stepping in. These two end up alone together at his place on fairly innocent enough terms. And the air is practically crackling between them. I really loved how it started out one way, and ended up a whole other way, and that's due to both of them opening up and letting the other in. These characters were also quite likable to me. Holly and Cian felt like people I might know, and so I was able to connect with them. They each had flaws, but the chemistry between them was undeniable. Their story is more of a friends-to-lovers, and that's always a welcome plotline! So all of the stories feature the pub and the snowstorm. And there is something else they feature, that's a bit of secret. But the addition of this... feature (to prevent a spoiler!) was really a great idea. I loved the way all the stories tied in together and people from each story were featured throughout the book. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys romance!

One night can change everything… The crew at Boston’s Brazen Head Pub hasn’t been very lucky in love. Can a mysterious visitor inspire them to look past old hurts and misconceptions and give romance a chance? One Lucky Night is a collection of five sexy interwoven novelettes by Aria Kane, Grace Teague, Ana Blaze, Constance Phillips, and Melinda Dozier. Lucky Break by Aria Kane Four years ago, chef Derek Chase walked out of Andrea Rivera’s life after a tragedy neither of them were prepared to deal with. When she’s called to the Brazen Head to repair a dishwasher, old sparks ignite buried feelings.Lucky Star by Grace Teague When her life is threatened by a mugger, Charlotte Price realizes she's in love with her best friend, Tommy Leung. The Brazen Head seems like the perfect neutral place to confess her feelings, but nothing goes according to plan. A New Tune by Ana Blaze When it comes to dating, Holly Hall has one unbreakable rule: no musicians. Especially not gorgeous ones. Dating them only leads to heartbreak. So why did she let singer-songwriter Cian O’Neill kiss her? And why is she thinking about doing it again? Lexi’s Chance by Constance Phillips As a bartender, Sean Whelan meets all kinds of women every night, but none turn his head the way that Lexi has. She’s been playing cat and mouse with him for weeks. Tonight, Sean’s determined to get Lexi to quit teasing and take a real chance on him. Drink or Dare by Melinda Dozier A bachelorette party Drink or Dare game pairs paramedic students, Rachel Robertson and Killian Whelan, in a flirting match. Soon, the dares threaten to turn their academic rivalry into something much more.First off. A chef, a hero, a musician, a bartender and a man in a kilt, what’s not to love? I loved that each story is about a long love, not an instant gratification love. Not that I don’t love the intensity of the head of heels romance, but this felt real. Almost as if I could have walked into Brazen Head and seen this all unfolding for myself. The way the authors string the stories together with little bits and pieces of each other’s story with out trampling them was just perfect. I love the different points of view and each author’s individual style. If I have to give a criticism it would be that some stories felt rushed. Which is not saying whole lot, because they are intended to be novellas. If they were longer and gave more details, then they would not be novellas, but parts of series. Hint. Hint.I don’t want to give away anything other than they are all heart filled stories of love conquering all.I have read other similar books by some of these others combined and I must say, that this is another triumph.I rate this

**See this full review and more at http://bookbriefs.net**I love when anthologies all revolve around interlocking characters or some central theme. For this contemporary romance anthology, all 5 of the stories take place in the same night at the same Irish Pub in Boston. There is this mysterious old man that shows up in each story and the characters interlock with each other in some way. One story is about the cook of the Irish Pub, one is about a waitress and a singer that they have performing regularly for them, two are about brothers from the family that own the pub, and two have regular customers in them. It was really nice to see bits and pieces from the other stories as you were reading each of the new ones. As I got to some of the later stories, I was looking out for the scenes where the earlier stories took place. It was fun. One lucky night is a great book for when you are looking for a quick and happy pick me up. I started out reading the first three stories one at a time, each in between a full length novel that I had read. I thought it would be nice to insert some quick sexy fun between each of my longer books. But by the third one, I had gotten impatient and I was having much too much fun seeing how all the stories fit together to stick to my self imposed rule of reading the stories one at a time. I gobbled up the rest of the book in one reading. I don't even know which of the stories I like the best. They are all really great. I enjoyed Charlotte's story, as well as Holly's. Oh, but I can't forget about the brothers Sean and Killian. They were great as well. Plus Killian's story came last and by the end of the book, I was dying to see why he was in a kilt the whole night. All of the earlier stories alluded to some sort of bet, and I couldn't wait to see what it was. If you are looking for quick, Sexy fun, One Lucky Night does not disappoint. This is my second or third book that I have read by some of these authors and I love their anthologies. They always do the same overlapping story lines, and that is my favorite way to read an anthology. It reminds me of that movie, Love, Actually. Where all of the story lines intertwine. And these authors have it down to an art. One Lucky Night is tons of fun.

The one thing I loved most about this anthology is that each author wrote a story about different characters that either own, work at, or frequent the same pub. So, is was like one big story written by five different authors. I loved it! Also, even though each story is less than a hundred pages, they were complete stories. There is one person that appears in each story and that is the old Irish man. He appears in each story and gives advice, then disappears like a ghost. I highly recommend reading this fantastic anthology as it is very entertaining and full of gorgeous Irish men!Lucky Break by Aria Kane -- 5-Star ReviewI love "second chance" stories! Derek should have never left Andrea. He's back after 4 years. Can she forgive him for believing in some misspoken words by her grieving father?Lucky Star by Grace Teague -- 5-Star Review"Friends to lovers" stories are always entertaining but scary because you never really know if the other person feels the same until you take that leap. Charlotte was robbed, so she called her best friend, Tommy. In that moment when her life flashes before her eyes, she knows she must tell Tommy exactly how she feels about him.A New Tune by Ana Blaze -- 5-Star ReviewA sexy musician with a sexy Irish name, Cian, and a slight accent. Holly is who he wants and is willing to wait for her to really see him. I love it when the man is head-over-heels and he has to convince the woman to give him a chance. Great story!Lexi's Chance by Constance Phillips -- 5-Star ReviewSean is one sexy bartender and willing to do anything for Lexi to notice him. They both have issues in their past that may interfere with their present together. I adore the men in this book!Drink or Dare by Melinda Dozier -- 5-Star ReviewRachel was in Killian's bar for a bachelorette pub crawl and the ladies want to play Drink or Dare. Rachel being the one with all the dares and she goes to Killian to complete them. This is a sweet and fun romance to round out the fifth story in this entertaining anthology surrounding The Brazen Head Pub.*free copy gifted for honest review**originally reviewed for welovekink(dot)com

When I first heard about One Lucky Night, it was billed as magical realism and I was so damn excited to read it. Romance and magic, that’s what I live for. But the small thread of magic—by way of a mysterious old Irish gent—while a cool way to tie the stories together, is really just enough to say the novellas have magic in them and didn’t feel like magical realism. Not that that’s a bad thing, just not what I was expecting.Having read novellas by a few of these ladies before (in Love and Other Games), I knew the romance would burn hot and fast. And these did not disappoint. I loved that each of the stories revolved around couples who already knew each other, making the romance that much more believable. I instantly rooted for them because they had history that supported being madly in love (or in lust) within such a short page count. And seeing the same events—just a passing thing in one story but the focal point of another—happen from multiple viewpoints was a lot of fun. While the sex in some of the stories felt like the right path for the characters, in a few of them, it almost felt like sex for hot steamy sex’s sake. I don’t usually read erotica, it’s just not my thing, but I think if the story is going to have intense, graphic sex scenes, it needs to feel organic to the plot and be the natural progression for the characters/plot. But that’s just me. I’m sure other readers will love the hell out of every scintillating second of it.

This book has five short stories that all interconnect. Each story is about one couple, but when you put them all together you get the whole story of what happened that night at the Brazen Head, which I thought was fun. Though the stories are short, they are satisfying romantic stories. There may not be time for a HEA, but they at least end with hope. One of my favorites was A New Tune. I think this quote sums up why I liked Cian so much:The girl had always been a bit prickly, but since they’d kissed she was a f***ing cactus. She aggravated and charmed him at the same time, so he figured he’d have to marry her eventually. In the meantime, he was gonna try for an actual date. It didn’t look like tonight would be his night. There is more to like as well. You have the second chance story, friends that decide they want more, school rivals who don't get along until they meet at the pub. The flirty bartender who has to convince the woman he's interested in that he's sincere. This was a fun and sweet yet steamy read.

I adored this book! I loved the way the authors took a single pub and a single night with a large cast of characters and told all their different stories. Such a fun idea!
